Sophie's POV

"What am I supposed to wear?" I ask into my phone.

"A dress obviously. What I want to is what happened to Ace? I thought he was nice and cute. Do I need to hunt him down?"

"Aunt Val, what are you talking about? That's who my date is."

"Oh, okay. That's good. I really don't want to go to jail tonight. Becky and I are supposed to get pedicures later."

I roll my eyes even though she can't see me.

"Wear that pink dress that you got when we went shopping."

"If I can find it, I will. I might have given it to someone else."

"Alright. Text or call me and tell me how it was."

"I will."

"Bye."

"I love you. Bye."

"I love you too. Bye."

I hang up and start rummaging through my closet.

》THE BAD BOY'S BAND《

I walk over to Ace's garage and listen to the sounds of my black wedges click against the ground. I step inside and stop dead in my tracks. I stare at Hunter, more so at his hair.

"What are you doing?" I ask him.

"I'm sitting on a chair," he answers slowly.

"I mean what are you doing with your hair."

"What's wrong with my hair?" He asks.

"You have it in a man bun! That is what's wrong!" I exclaim.

"And?"

"You aren't going to get as many girls with your hair like that. You should always make sure your hair looks good. Girls always look at guys hair. Well, some girls. Especially me."

"But you already told me that you wouldn't date me."

"You got me there," I reply with a shrug. I glance around at the other guys' hair. "I love when guys have their hair like Ace's."

"Who cares about Hunter's hair? The real question is why are you wearing a dress?" Jaxon asks.

"I have a date," I smile shyly.

"With who?" Hunter asks. "I think I need to have a little talk with him."

I point to Ace. "There he is."

Hunter glances at Ace and he grins. "YES! YES! YEAH! WOOHOO!"

"Um, Hunter? You okay?" I hesitantly question.

"I couldn't be better! I've been waiting for you guys to get together ever since you said you wouldn't go out with me."

"Hunter, stop being a fanboy," Jaxon sighs.

"Never," Hunter whispers dramatically.

Ace stands up and comes towards me. "You ready to go?"

I nod my head with a smile on my face.

"What about us?" Hunter asks.

"You guys can stay here. If you leave, make sure you lock all the doors and let Max inside."

"Okay. Have fun, love birds. And don't do anything Hunter wouldn't do." Jaxon grins.

Ace rolls his eyes and leads me to a black car. He opens the door for me and I get in. "Thank you." He grins and shuts the door. I buckle up as he gets in on the driver's side.

"Who's car is this?" I question him.

"Mine."

"Since when did you get a car?"

"Probably a year ago."

"Where has it been all this time?"

"In the shop."

"Do you have a reservation?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Name?"

"Ace Farris."

The lady stares at her computer for a minute and then back to us. "I'm sorry. There isn't a reservation for that name. Would it be under a different one?"

"No, it wouldn't. Could you please just let us in? I promise I made a reservation."

"Ace," I say and tug on his arm. He looks down at me. "We can eat some where else."

"But."

"But nothing. I'd rather have a good burger anyway."

He smiles and nods his head. "I never thought I could like you any more than I already did, but apparently I was wrong."

"You are sweet, but don't try to flatter me because that gets you no where in life."

"Maybe that's why life gives you lemons."

"Maybe."
