Chapter One

Ashton woke up to his alarm and groaned. He hated Mondays.

He dressed in his school uniform and went downstairs where his mother had his breakfast laid out on the table. He took his seat to eat.

Once he was done he left for school. As he walked down the street he ran into his childhood friend, Ashlyn. She smiled at him. Her long boots clicked against the ground as her skirt blew in the wind and her tank top hugged her breast. "Why do you have to go to that private school again?" She asked him. He chuckled. "I'd rather my private school then your public school." He said in reply.

The two walked together and talked about randomness. After a while a car pulled beside them and the driver smiled. "Hey babe!" He called to Ashlyn. Ashton rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Rex!" She squealed and jumped in the car. "Ashton! Jump on in!" She called to her friend. "I'm good." He said as he straightened his tie and walked ahead with his nose to the air. He adored Ashlyn. They were friends after all, but he HATED her boyfriend.

He walked to school alone the rest of the way. This was becoming routine. He honestly questioned his friendship with Ashlyn in these moments. It seemed they were drifting apart since Rex came into their lives. He didn't know how to feel about it.

Once at school he went straight to his locker and started getting prepared for his next class. Once done he went and sat in the back with his friends Alexandra, Sofia, Lancaster, Leonardo, and Rebecca.

Alexandra looked to him with a smile. Her long blonde curls flowed down her back and her bright green eyes glowed with happiness. "Hello Ashton!" She greets him. He smiles. "Alexandra." He says with a curt nod. "Ashton, you've arrived." Says Sofia with a small smile. Her shoulder length brunette hair framed her face as her sky blue eyes smile with her lips. Ashton smiles at her kindly as he nods. "Sofia." He says. "So kind to see you." Lancaster says. His black hair was slicked back in a fashion similar to Dracula. Ashton nodded to him. "The pleasure is mine Lancaster." He said. Leonardo smiled. "How is your morning Ashton?" He asked. His ginger red hair sat in perfection with a bowl cut to match his brown eyes. "Very well Leonardo." Came Ashton's reply. Rebecca smiled to Ashton. Her auburn red hair sat in a high ponytail and her gray eyes sparkled as she smiled to her friend. "Ashton, such a pleasure to have you back this week." She said curly. He nodded in agreement. His own silver hair shined under the light and his oddly purple eyes seemed to glow.

As the day went on the six friends hung out and as per usual, got straight A's. By the end of the day Ashton was already missing Ashlyn. He raced down the street to her school exit. She had promised that they'd walk home together at least. After an hour, he gave up waiting when she finally came out.... In Rex's car. She looked to him and smiled. "Hey Ashton! Why aren't you at home?" She asked. He frowned. "You promised we'd walk together." He said. A little hurt. She just laughed. "Sorry buddy, maybe next time." Rex just drove off after chuckling.

Ashton glared at were they drove off and sauntered home. This was enough.

He thought back on the two on the way. Ashlyn had long dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Rex had black hair and bright green eyes. Rex was also the school bad boy. Ashton often wondered what his old friend saw in Rex, but didn't question her. He respects that it's her life and her choice. No matter how much he may disagree with it.

He just walked home alone, something he never did before for a reason. On his way there some guys from the neighborhood jumped him. He fought back, but was outnumbered in the end.

When he got home at nine he tended his wounds and went to his room where he did his homework.

Today was not a very good one.
