Chapter Two
We parked in front of campbell university and got out.
We looked at eachother and let out a nervous sigh in unison before making the walk to the front doors.
He pulled the door open for me and I walked in, saying a quick 'thanks', before doing so though.
"Um, excuse me. Do you know where the main office is?" I asked a strawberry-blonde.
She turned around and I mentally gasped at how beautiful she was.
She looked like a model, with blue eyes and defined cheekbones, a sharp jawline, and when she opened her mouth to speak, she had perfectly white and straight teeth.
"It's down the hall, to the left. You can't miss it!" She smiled, but it was obviously fake.
Her sicky sweet tone nearly made me gag.
Why are most pretty people stuck-up ego maniacs? I mean most because Brody is gorgeous, yet he's super sweet.
I flashed her a smile, "Thanks!" I mocked her fake tone, before I started walking again.
My irritation towards her must have been obvious because Brody decided to mention it.
"Are you okay?" He questioned, picking up pace a little to catch up with my angry march.
"I'm fine." I growled, clenching my jaw and crossing my arms tightly over my chest.
"Then why were you such a jerk to her?" He inquired, and I stopped at the door to the main office.
"Oh look, we're here. Why Don't we continue this lovely conversation some other time." I scowled.
He rolled his eyes before opening the door. Instead of holding it open, the amazing gentleman let the door shut on me.
I pushed the door back open and stormed over to where Brody was waiting in the red plastic chairs.
"You're an idiot." I mumbled, sitting down in the chair two seats away from him.
"How could I forget with you reminding me all the time." He said exasperatedly, throwing his hands in the air.
"I'm sorry, I'm just stating the obvious." I hissed, just as a man waled into the room.
His hair was dark with some silver strands, showing signs of aging.
His eyes were a dark grey, with light blue specks.
His teeth were white and straight; all in all, he wasn't bad looking.
"Hey guys. Can I have your names?" He inquired, and Brody and I answered in sync.
"I'm Emma." I repeated, and he did the same- only after I did, this time.
"Okay. So since I recieved all the information I needed before now, I'll just give you your schedules, and your dorm room numbers, and you can be on your way." He smiled, causing the skin around his eyes and lips to crinkle, forming thin lines on his tanned skin.
"Okay, great." Brody smiled, only it was extremely fake.
We got up and left the office, both of us still full of anger, but I don't think any of it was meant to be personal, we were just full of stress, and taking it out on eachother.
We hardly even passed a glance before getting in our cars and driving to our dorms.
I got out and knocked on my dorm's door.
When the door opened, I saw a face that nearly made me want to curl in a hole and forget about my own existance.
***
Who do you guys think it was? And who do you think the other person will be?
And do you think Brody and Emma's anger isn't meant to be personal?
