Chapter Seven

We came back to our dorm, that was now covered in fairy lights.

Maddy came home early, and when I saw Brody standing with a suit on in one corner of the room, I understood why.

He walked over to me, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

I gave him a small smile, which gave him the courage to go on.

He got down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box.

"Emma, I know we're still young, you're only eighteen, and I'm not going to be twenty for another two months, but I love you. The first time I found myself falling for you, I tried to stop, but I just kept falling.
Here I am now, asking you to make me even happier than now, and marry me."

I slapped my hands over my mouth and tried to blink back the tears that were threatening to fall.

I looked back at where Aiden and Melody were standing, and where Maddy had now joined them.

Aiden looked a bit jealous, but either way, they all gave me smiles.

I turned back to Brody who looked worried and nervous all at the same time, hope etched all over his face.

"Yes!" I finally said, and he stood up.

He took the beautiful, glistening ring, out of the box and slid it on my finger.

A wide smile tugged on my lips, becoming so big my cheeks were hurting.

I threw my arns around his neck and held him close to me.

"I love you Brody." I muttered.

He gazed into my eyes a long time before pressing his lips against mine.

When he pulled back and rested his head on my forehead, he whispered back, "I love you more."

Then all of a sudden tons of people started applauding.

We turned around and met the eyes of at least fifty people.

We grinned, and Brody took a bow.

"You're a dork." I whispered, and he turned to me and winked.

"I like them all!" I groaned, looking through the wedding dresses on the rack in front of me.

Maddy and Mel were on either side of me.

"Which one do you like the most?" Mel asked, glancing at a couple of them.

"I guess this one." I decided, pulling of a long, flowy one that had sequins on the top, and netting for sleeves.

"That one would look fantastic on you!" Maddy squealed, and I rolled my eyes.

"Let's see if your theory is right." I mumbled, walking towards the changing rooms.

The wedding was in two months, and I was a mixture of scared, excited, and content.

I put on the dress and stepped out, spinning around.

"You look hot!" The exclaimed in unison.

I walked over to the mirror, and admired it on me.

It fit perfectly, and was beyond gorgeous.

"You found your dress." Mel said, her grin almost as wide as mine.

I stepped into the dorm and was immediately pulled into someone's arms from behind.

Brody set his chin on my shoulder and placed a kiss on my cheek.

I grinned contently and turned around to face him.

"Do we really have to wait two months?" He pouted. "Why not transfer it to tomorrow?"

I giggled and rolled my eyes.

"We're waiting. Everyone has already set aside that day in their calender. Plus we would have no one to marry us, and so many other things." I explained, and he groaned.

Two months later:

As I walked down the aisle, (Aiden taking my Dad's place, we had actually become quite good friends.) I teared up at everying.

For as horrible as life had been, only a year ago, things have really changed, and for the better.

Brody was tearing up too, his expression was enough to make my heart melt even more than it already had.

I reached my hand up to wipe away my tears.

Once we got to the end of the aisle, Aiden spun me around to talk.

"I've loved you for a long time Emma, and I don't know if I'll ever get over you. But I'm happy for the two of you, and I wish you the best in life." He smiled, before letting me go stand in front of my bridesmaids, Ella, Maddy, and Melody.

I smiled at Brody, and he mouthed an, 'I love you'.

He grabbed my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze as we said our vows.

"You may kiss the bride."

Brody cupped my face in his hands, and I threw my arms around his neck.

He leaned closer until our lips were touching.

Once we pulled away, the crowd was applauding.
My mom had bothered to actually show up, and she was in tears.

Everyone was smiling, and we were too.

I looked over at Brody to see he was already looking at me.

"I love you too." I whispered, responding to his earlier statement.
