Chapter 36: The Reunion

🍪Ellie's P.O.V

"Who would've thought that cinderella would be the one to own America's ass." Ark grumbled, staring at the picture that was stolen between Lily James and Chris Evans.

Sage who was looking at the photo as well let out a fake sob, mocking Ark who shed a few tears earlier when rewatching Captain America: The Winter Soldier which earned a playful slap from her.

I let out a giggle."Seems like snow white isn't the fairest of them all." I joked, earning a snort from Ark.

Girl's night didn't start yet because it was only 5 pm and it had been a two hours since Alec dropped me off at Ark's house.

I've been texting Alec the cookie emoji every thirty minutes assuring him that I was fine and would immediately send a glass of milk emoji in reply from him.

It was something that he suggested since he didn't want to steal my attention from our girl's night in case our conversation goes long and wanted me to focus with my girls today.

The three of us were waiting for the in-home massage therapists that Sage booked us for and were on Ark's living room, huddled on her fancy couch.

Uncle Marco and her stepmom were out in a lover's cruise. They wouldn't be back for a week and Ark took advantage of that.

I was occasionally checking the timer on my phone since I decided to bake some brownies and cookies prior to our movie night later.

My fingers were crossed that they would bake perfectly and would not be a major fail.

The bell rang, cutting us off in our conversation. Ark and Sage went to open the door while I went to check on my sweets.

The scent itself was heavenly and I was excited to devour them. The brownies would taste good with some ice cream and I quickly made my way to the fridge.

A frown graced my lips when there was no ice cream. Ark probably forgot to restock since we've been busy with our school works this week.

I quickly made my way upstairs and bumped into Ark who now had her hair in a bun and a robe on.

"Boo, there's only two therapist who arrived since the third one got sick. Do you want to go first?" Ark asked, fixing her bun.

I shook my head."No, you both go ahead first. I have to buy some ice cream real quick. You were out of stock," I said, earning a curse from her.

"I totally forgot, My car keys are downstairs boo. Do you want me to go with you?" Ark offered, her brown eyes beaming.

"Nah, I'll be back before you know it A." I pecked her cheek in goodbye before bounded downstairs.

"Should I go for Vanilla or chocolate?" I wondered out, tapping my jaw continuously.

I placed the basket down gently, the cans of Pringles falling against the pack of skittles and turned back to stare at the two flavors.

"You look like someone who can afford both," I jumped slightly at the unfamiliar voice.

I turned to my left side and saw a guy standing next to me and was staring at the rows of ice cream as well.

"And you look like someone who could afford the whole grocery store," I shot back, eyeing the fancy suit and shoes he wore.

From the small quirk of his lips, I knew he was indeed talking to me. I couldn't help but feel annoyed at his words and threw him the stink eye.

The guy towered over me but he was nowhere near tall as my skittle although I could tell from the way his suit hugged him snuggly that he worked out as well.

A few strands of his dark hair were escaping his ponytail and had a neatly shaved beard that gave him a rugged and mature appearance.

A black glasses were settled on the bridge of his nose, obscuring the color of his eyes from my sight.

"Touchè." He chuckled, his voice deep and prominent of an accent but I couldn't pin point what.

I ignored him and decided to pick both flavor instead and took five of each, putting them on my basket in a neat order.

"I'm guessing you just got out of a break up." He referred to my tubs of ice cream, the words coming out slowly.

I picked the basket up and turned to look at him."Assumptions usually leads to fight and I don't want to fight you so bye." I offered him a sarcastic smile before walking away.

I angrily pushed my hair back, stomping my way towards the cashier. Who the hell did he think he was? I don't even know him and he's voicing his opinions so loud!

I tapped my finger impatiently against my elbow, waiting for the cashier to finish swiping my items.

When she mentioned the total price, I felt my eyes widened and glanced down to my wallet. Shit. I don't have enough money on me!

"Uh," I stammer out, glancing at my wallet and back to the cashier who looked rather impatient.

Dang it. Duck it. Dab it. Damn it!

"Here," A sleek and shiny credit card was handed to the cashier and without even asking me, she swiped it.

I turned around, ready to say thank you and possibly offer them one of my pack of skittles for being such a kind human but it all went down the drain when I was met with Mr. Rich Suit.

I awkwardly took a hold of my groceries and waited for him like a penguin, shifting one foot from another.

My face was extremely hot and I knew it was because of the embarrassment at having him, of all people, witness that.

Jessica snickered, earning a glare from me. Don't even say it, I told her.

"So much for being able to afford the two flavors, right regina scelta?" Mr. Suit Guy joked, earning a scowl from me.

(Regina Scelta: Chosen Queen)

What? Regina Scelta? Did he just referred to me as chosen Regina? The Regina George from mean girls? Ah, bitch no.

"I'm an Ellie but I'd gladly turn into a Regina George if you keep on doing that assumptions of yours." I growled out, my scowl deepening.

That earned a deep and heartily laugh from him that somehow sounded melodic in my ears.

Damn, this guy might be a judger but he's gifted with the looks and the voice. Jessica sighed, why do handsome guys always have shitty attitudes?

"I'm sorry, it seems that my assumption was wrong about you." He chuckled out, my cheeks heating up.

I huffed, turning away from his stare."Give me your bank account, I'll send you my payment."

He shook his head."But your assumption about me is correct hence why I politely decline." A smirk graced his lips and I couldn't help but feel deja vú.

He felt somehow familiar and I could feel my eyes squint lightly, trying to take in his features once again.

It was short lived considering my phone rang and awkwardly balanced my groceries on my arm and quickly took a hold of it, frowning when I realized it was just my alarm.

Alarm.

Oh shit, my brownies and cookies! I forgot to tell Ark about it!

"Fuck, Not my precious sweets! Uh, sorry, I have to go! Since you won't accept my payment then atleast accept my thank you." I rambled, feeling quite panicked.

I quickly sent a message to Ark and glanced at the Mr. Rich Guy impatiently who looked rather amused now.

He smiled."I accept then and next time, make sure to check your money before leaving for the store." Mr. Rich Guy advised, earning a small nod from me.

"Noted, well, bye Mr. Rich Guy." I gave him a small smile before walking pass him and towards the exit hurriedly.

"Take Care Ms. Ellie Haven." He replied, staring at my retreating figure.

I hurriedly walked where the car was parked and sent various texts to Ark, trying my best to multitask.

A frown nestled on my lips when I noticed a van parked next to the car when there were many empty parking lots.

I didn't think much of it and made my way towards the driver's seat. The car let out a sound beep as it unlocked and was about to took a hold of the car door when the van beside me suddenly opened.

I let out a startled gasp, turning around but only managed halfway when something hit me in the back of my head and was greeted by darkness.
