Chapter 35: The Frog's Theory

BACK!!!

🍪Ellie's P.O.V

"Remember, if he asks you where I am, just tell him that you drove me home safe and sound." My eyes shifting around the noisy hallway and back to the person in front of me.

Todd gave me a thumbs up, a half-smile plastered on his lips.

"Don't worry blue, you'll get the girl time you've been wanting these past few days." He assured softly.

"I do hope so Tadpole," I replied, letting out a sigh. Alec's been attached on my hip ever since the incident.

He's being ridiculously protective and wouldn't let me out of his sight. Each of the pack of skittles were assigned to walk me after every class and Alec drives me home.

He even went as far to have some of his guys watching me when I'm not with him and its starting to get on my nerves.

"Are you okay though?" I questioned, my eyes taking in his dark bags and lack of enthusiasm.

These past few days, Todd had been the usual happy pill in our lives but I noticed that there were moments that he would be in a trance.

Although he showed his usual self to us, I could see through him that something is bothering him.

I tried to talking to him about it but Todd simply brushed it off with a smile that didn't reach his eyes hence why I didn't pry more into it.

If he's not ready to talk then I won't force him.

A smile grace his lips."I'm okay blue. Please stop worrying." He assured me, his gray eyes staring into my ocean ones.

Our conversation was cut short when I was pulled back against the familiar chest that I would love to lick.

Someday. Not now, we're in a hallway full of students. Geez.

"Why aren't you in the cafeteria yet tesoro?" Alec's husky voice met my ears, I felt my cheeks flush feeling his lips gently grace on the shell of my ear.

He pressed a soft kiss below my ear before turning my body around to face him, not once letting go of his grip on my waist.

Electrifying blue eyes met my gaze and I felt captivated at the beauty of it. Every time I look into his eyes, it was the same damn spark.

And the familiar stomping of the dinosaurs that I feel in my stomach.

I snapped out of my trance and let out a chuckle."Oh, Hahaha Todd and I were waiting for you silly. What took you so long? I'm hungry!" I glanced at Todd.

Alec stared at us both with suspicion. I felt myself sweat slightly, I quickly pulled on his arm and started to drag him towards the cafeteria.

I widened my eyes towards Todd who suddenly looked pale. The students were thinning out and only a few remained in the hallway.

"Are you okay there tadpole? You look rather ghostly." Alec pointed out, pulling his arm from my grasp and rested it on my shoulder instead.

I wrapped an arm around his waist and placed my hand on his back pocket and threw him a cheeky grin.

It's not that I don't enjoy spending time with Alec, its just the fact that I can't even spend some alone time with anyone without him breathing heavily on my back.

I know it was to protect me but there's only so much protecting a person could take until it comes off as overbearing.

Todd bursted out laughing and I mentally did a small prayer that he wouldn't let our little plan slip.

"I look handsome today Alec. You better get your eyes checked buddy." Todd teased, bumping his shoulder against Alec.

Alec didn't even stumble at the force and continued walking, my body safety tucked beside him.

He gave him a deadpan look."Try that again and you'll have no shoulders." Alec said, slowing down his strides.

I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. Todd still manages to get on Alec's nerves and He loves pushing his buttons.

Todd gasped, placing a hand on his chest."Try threatening my manly shoulders again and I wouldn't tell you my secret!" He shot back childishly.

I felt my eyes widening, my neck snapping towards him. The rope of my warning bells were being pulled by Jessica.

Alec rolled his eyes."I don't care about your secret Tadpole."

Todd looked rather smug and crossed his arms."You wouldn't be saying that if I told you that its Ellie and I's secret."

Alec stopped walking and turned to face him."What secret?" He asked, growing serious.

I let out a small laugh that sounded so fake to my ears it made Jessica grimace. I pulled away from Alec's hold and stepped between them.

"Silly, there's no secret. There's an IF." I interjected, pushing my hair back nervously.

I slapped Todd's arm harshly who looked alarmed. We glanced at each other for .001 seconds but it was enough for Alec to confirm his suspicions.

He crossed his arms, wiping any emotion out of his face."You're both hiding something. Tell me." He deadpans, throwing us glares.

At his words, I turned to Todd with wide eyes. He stared back and forth between us and his adam's apple bobbed.

"Ellie's gonna have a sleepover with Ark!" Todd blurted before covering his mouth with his hand.

Just like that, Jessica smacked my brain in disbelief. I let out a sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose.

Todd turned to me with apologetic eyes before pulling me in for a hug."I'm so sorry blue! Alec was just looking very scary and I can't have him pummel my handsome face! I'm sorry blue! Please don't be mad!" He rambled nervously.

I peeked my head out of Todd's arm, pursing my lips when I saw Alec's completely tense frame.

I pulled away and nodded my head at him."Go before he pummels you. In exchange, buy us some food please. We'll be there." I told him.

Todd gave Alec one look before he was nodding profusely at me and dashed towards the cafeteria.

I told you he'd blurt it out, Jessica said. I should've known Todd would somehow find a way to mess it up.

"Sage, Ark, and I are gonna have a sleepover this friday." I told him, cutting straight to the chase.

Alec glared at me."No fucking way. You know very well that Annie's culprit isn't still identified and found."

As much as it pisses me off, it was indeed true. It's been a week and the guy still wasn't caught.

Connor and Jayden went on a dead end when the DNA didn't match anyone here in town. Which means that this guy isn't from here or he's just good with covering up his identity.

The possibility that he might be one of Alex's goon and is helping him can be another factor. The unit that has been sent to follow Alex and his men didn't have anything to give proof to our theory.

Annie's been excused from school and is still recovering from her wounds. I haven't been able to visit her but we've been texting.

I crossed my arms across my chest."Well, I wasn't asking and I can't hide forever." A frown slipping on my lips at his words.

He sighed."It's not like that cookie, I just want you safe. We don't know who we're up against." Alec explained, his forehead creasing.

"I will be safe Alec, I'm with Ark and they have CCTV cameras in their house." I assured him, placing a hand on his arm.

Alec stared into my eyes for a minute, letting out a foreign curse before taking a hold of my chin and pressing a fierce kiss on my lips.

I closed my eyes briefly, enjoying the feeling his lips. The familiar dinosaurs stomped on my stomach wildly and a smile graced my lips against his.

He pulled away too quickly making me pout and I was seriously tempted to throw a fit. Alec seemed to know what I was thinking and his lips twitched in amusement.

"Fine but I'll drive you there and you have to update me every thirty minutes. That's my compromise." He agreed, making me squeal.

"You got yourself a deal, thank you skittle!" I said, pulling him in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and locked my fingers behind his back before resting my head on his chest.

Alec pressed a soft kiss on my head."Just promise me you'll be safe." He told me.

I glanced up, offering him a grin."I promise amore." Just like that, a beautiful smile graced his features.

"What's the occasion Todd?" I wondered out, slurping on the delicious milkshake he got me.

Todd had managed to convince Alec to drive me home today but Todd said that he wants visit out favorite spot and talk about something first.

We both sat on the bench, the food that he bought were in between us but it remained untouched except my milkshake.

"That's an apology for fucking things up blue." He replied, referring to incident earlier.

"Its okay, He would've found out one way or another." I waved my hand dismissively at him.

He parked the car in the spot where I did the first time we went here and I could tell he's been here a few times since then from the way he drove without asking directions from me.

The sky was beautiful today and so was the sun, they both looked magnificent together that I couldn't help but wonder about Alec.

Was I the sky that highlights the good in him or was I the sun that uplifts him from the darkness?

I bit my lip at this, leaning back slightly and glanced at Todd who looked engrossed with his thoughts as well.

"Stop hesitating and tell me about it." I told him, sensing his inner turmoil.

Todd snapped out of it, turning to me."Stop pressuring me blue. You're making me nervous." He grumbled, his lips in a pout.

I let out a small smile."Sorry but seriously, you don't have to hesitate Todd. I'm a good listener." I assured him.

He offered me a smile before leaning back on the bench. I nodded at him, closing my eyes and waited for him patiently to gather his thoughts.

I was used to seeing him being a jolly person that it weirds me out when his expression isn't cut out from that.

"I've been working on a theory blue." Todd said, turning his body slightly to face me.

Theory? I felt my brow knit gently, what kind of theory could it be that could cause him such conflict? Todd isn't the type to let his thoughts rule him.

I kept quiet and took it a sign for him to continue."Remember the favor you promised in exchange for the makeover?" Todd suddenly asked.

I felt my brows furrow but I nodded."Yes, of course." I couldn't just accept his help without offering something back. It just doesn't sit well with me.

He nodded softly, a strand of curly hair falling on his forehead."Well, I need to use that favor for my theory."

"Of course, I'd be willing to help you. What is this theory about?" I turned to him, pushing some of my hair behind my ear.

"I think I'm gay," At first I couldn't hear it so I quickly placed the food to my right side and moved closer to him, letting him whisper it to my ear.

When he repeated it once again and this time more firm, I leaned away from him slightly and lifted a brow.

"And that's okay." I replied softly."You're still the Todd Martins that well know." I smiled at him.

"One way to find out then blue." One minute I was staring at him then the next, his lips were pressed gently unto mine.

My eyes were wide in shock and it didn't last for 2 seconds before he pulled back, nodding to himself.

I was frozen, completely shock to the core and not that core you filthy cookie. Did he just? I-wait-WHAT?

"It's confirmed, I am gay blue." He admitted, earning a surprise push from me that almost made him fell off the bench.

"Todd," I gritted out, a suddenly alarmed look sprawled on his face. I fisted my hands on my sides and he stood up, backing away from me with an apologetic look on his face.

"Uh oh, this is not good." He mumbled to himself, raising his hands up in a surrender.

"Gay or not! I'm gonna kill you!" I lunged at him, earning a manly squeal from him as he ran away.

A QUADRUPLE CHAPTER UPDATE BECAUSE WE'RE ALMOST REACHING 40K READS🥰

The start of September has been tough to me, I was rushed to hospital hence why I wasn't able to update. RHD is a serious pain in the ass you guys so please take good care of yourself and your hearts🥺

I'm still not 100% okay, still suffering with chest pains and I can't sleep well because of it BUT don't worry guys, I can handle it.

Any tips on how to make yourself sleepy? I've been trying every single thing I could think off. I even counted sheeps in my head like Mr. Bean did🤣
