Blake | Bedroom

While everyone else decided to go out and party, I decided to stay at the house and play the game. I honestly wasn't in the mood to party. In fact, I hardly party now.

As soon as I finished the mission, my phone rang. I didn't stop to pause the game, I just answered knowing that it was probably one of them saying they needed a driver.

"Wassup?" I answered, keeping the majority of my attention on the game.

"Blake?" The voice that I loved hearing flowed through the speaker, making me pause the game.

"Ella? What's wrong?"

I could picture her putting her hair behind her ear because she was nervous.

"Um..." She began. "I really hate to bother you but is Kelly there?"

"No. They all went clubbing."

"Oh. Um, well here's the thing. My phone is on nine percent and I don't have my charger. Also, I don't have a way back. Uber and Lyft do-" I quickly cut her off while standing up.

"Where are you?" I asked, grabbing the keys while exiting the house.

"In Seaside. I'll meet you at the theater downtown, you can't miss it."

"Aight, I'll be there soon." I said, pulling off.

"Okay."

We ended the call as I hit the highway.

I know that I should stay away from her but I couldn't have just left her there. Anyone else, yes. I would've told them to find their own way back, but Ella is too special.

I pulled in front of the brightly lit theater and watched as she quickly slid in the car, turning on the heat.

It's not even cold outside.

"Thanks. Y'know for coming to get me." She nearly whispered.

"You're welcome."

I know that she's thinking about it, trying to figure out why I did what I did. I know that she's assuming that she is the problem. When that's far from the truth.

Thankfully, she didn't ask anything but sadly she didn't say anything either. I wanted to hear her voice again so bad.

When we got back, she was the first to get out and enter the house. I watched as she headed to the steps. She stopped at the bottom and turned back to me.

"It was me, wasn't it?" She asked, her blue eyes glassy.

"No. You were perfect."

"Then what was it?" She sniffed. "What made you leave me? I thought you loved me."

She was close to breaking, anyone could sense that from a mile away. I just wanted to pull her close and hug her. I wanted to comfort her but I couldn't. I'm the one who caused her pain and I need to own up to it.

She really does deserve to know.

"I do love you, Ella. You were my world and you know I would've done anything for you. I still will." I said, inching up to her.

"You don't. You never did. If you did then you wouldn't have dropped me like I was-"

"I just didn't want you anymore, Ella! Why can't you understand that!? I like Nina more. She has everything you don't!"

She stood there staring at me with nothing but pure hurt.

I hated that I had to stoop to this level. I've always been honest with her and the fact that I'm not now is killing me. I'm just trying to protect her heart, no matter what it costs.

One tear.

Two tears.

Three tears.

Too many tears to count.

"Wh-b-but you said I was perfect." She barely whispered.

And she is. She's too fucking perfect. Especially for me.

"You were but then I realized I just fell out of love with you. You became annoying, always calling me, or always-"

She cut me off by smacking me clean across my face.

Damn, she still hits hard.

I stood there looking at her while I rubbed my cheek.

"You're an asshole!" She screamed while sobbing. "I can't believe that I thought you actually would like someone like me, love someone like me." She said, crying even more.

My heart ached seeing tears rolling down her face because of me. I had promised her that I wouldn't hurt her but look at me, steadily hurting her.

"You should've listened to wh-" I began but stopped once she smacked me on my other cheek.

"Fuck you."

I watched as she ran up the stairs and a few seconds later, I heard her door slam shut.

I knew that she was underneath her blanket crying and it made me angry that I was the cause of it.

Even though I deserve it.

I went back into my room and sat on the bed. I looked at the flat screen that hung on the wall. I picked up the controller and tossed it at the tv, breaking it.

"Fuck!"
