twenty five
Ella | After The Game
Out of the entire game, all I picked up on was the fact that we won with twenty-six to eleven. I was happy about it I guess but I didn't understand anything that happened in the game so I couldn't really be too happy.
I was shocked to see what Lily did to Hailee. To me it looked like she was trying to kill her and it made me curious as to why.
What problems did Lily have with Hailee?
I walked back to the car with Kelly as she was silent.
"What's wrong?" I asked, unlocking the doors.
"Nothing."
She sounded sad, extremely sad and I wanted to know why.
"It has to be something since you're sounding sad." I said, pulling out of the schools student parking lot.
"It's like you know me now." She said, looking out of the window and into the dark world.
"I guess I do."
It was silent between us for several minutes before she spoke again.
"I saw Grayson going behind the school with that fake bitch." She said, not spitting out any words.
"What fake bitch?" I asked, turning onto the highway to take the long way to her house.
"Mariana."
I nearly slammed on breaks.
Mariana made it perfectly clear to me and my siblings that she hated them because of what they did to me. So as to why she would be going behind a building with my older brother was way beyond my knowledge.
"But I thought she hated him." I said.
"Yeah and I thought she was our friend." She said, leaning her head against the seat.
"True."
I guess it all makes sense now. Mariana was never my best friend like she said she was. Maybe she used me for my money or maybe she used me for something else, but she never was my friend because if she were, then she'd have stuck to her promise and not lie to me about hating my siblings.
I pulled in front of Kelly's house and put the gear in park.
"Come here." I said, hesitantly.
She came into my arms and I rubbed her back.
"My grandpa used to tell me if it won't matter in five years, don't spend more than five minutes upset about it. This won't matter in five years so don't even get upset about it. You deserve way better than my brother. He's a player. You deserve someone like you; amazing, smart, and nerdy." We laughed. "But seriously, he's not worth your sadness, okay?"
We pulled back at looked at each other.
"Okay." She smiled. "Thanks for the ride and everything else."
"No problem. Let me know if you need anything else. Okay?"
"I will. Goodnight."
"G'night."
I watched her get out of the car and waited until she got into the house before pulling off and going home.
I was so ready to go to sleep. I don't think I've ever been this tired in my life.
I pulled into the driveway and sighed once I saw the familiar motorcycle. I parked into the garage, put my bags beside the steps and went out to the bike where I saw Blake sitting on it.
"What're you doing here?"
"Are you hungry?"
"Why?" I asked, cautiously.
"Just answer the damn question Grace."
Oh, so he wants to use middle names? Alright, we can do that.
"A little bit, Zane. Why?"
"We're going out to dinner, come on. Hop on."
"I'm sleepy, Blake. I don't want to go anywhere."
"Okay then, we'll stay here and order out then. Your choice." He said, sternly.
I sighed.
"Where are we going then?" I asked, holding his hand to help me onto the bike.
"A place I like, hold on tight." He said, starting the engine.
This ride was better than the last. My nerves were way down and I actually enjoyed it. The wind hitting my face was the best thing about it. It felt so right.
About thirty and some change minutes later, we pulled up at a diner on the outskirts of town. It was a great view of the night sky with the dancing stars. We got off the bike and headed inside.
The inside was adorable. It had baby blue and white stripped walls with quotes and little things on it. The floors were a shiny white. It had booths against windows with shades and bar stools where the island is, and a jukebox in the corner
It was absolutely adorable.
We sat down in a booth and a waiter came over in less than three minutes.
"Hi! Welcome to Lucy Ann's. My name is Kimberly and I'll be your waitress today." She said, laying down some menus in front of us. "Can I start you off with some drinks?" She asked.
"Sprite." Blake said, nonchalantly.
"A strawberry lemonade, please." I said, quickly looking through the menus.
"Alright, one sprite and strawberry lemonade coming up." Kimberly said, walking away.
"So why'd you show up at my house, again?" I asked.
"Who is he." He shot back.
Okay and now I am confused. Who in the world is he talking about?
"Uh, who?"
"Don't play stupid with me, Grace. Who's the guy that likes you?"
OH!
Darn, it Kelly! Why did you have to scream that aloud. What am I supposed to say now? Funny story, we were talking about you.
I don't think so.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" I asked, not knowing what in the world I was doing.
His jaw clenched and I was silently thanking the Lord when I heard Kimberly's voice.
"Alright, here are your drinks." Kimberly said, sitting them infront of us. "Have you decided what you wanted yet?"
"I will have the eight chicken tenders with cheese fries. Thank you." I said, smiling at her.
"The bacon sandwich, no onions or tomatoes and the curly fries." Blake said, not even looking at the poor waitress, just staring deep into my soul.
Nothing too big.
Oh who am I kidding, he's going to kill me!
Kimberly smiled and said she'll be back soon, which left me and Blake.
"Now, don't play with me Ella. Who is he."
"Why do I need to tell you?"
My eyes widened as he slowly slid into my side of the booth.
"Because I said so, don't make me angrier." He said lowly, pushing a strand of my white hair behind my ear.
Didn't just the other day when he caressed my face in the forest, he pull his hand back like it was on fire or something?
"Um..."
I couldn't even get anything out of my mouth.
He was so close to me. I could see directly into his dark brown eyes to see sparks of light brown that I didn't see before.
"Spit it out, Ella."
There's no way I'm escaping this, I might as well just tell him and suffer my consequences.
"Uh, w-we were talking about you." I said quietly, still looking into his dark eyes.
Pretty eyes you mean.
It was like I couldn't look away. I don't know what it was but I couldn't look away.
"Me?" He asked, confused.
Finally, he slowly slid away from me but still stayed where our legs were touching.
"Um, y-yeah. I had told Kelly small things that happened between us and she said you liked me." I paused. "But of course I didn't believe it! I mean why would you like me? Look at me, I'm a nerd and-" I began ranting but was cut off.
"Shut up."
He had on a thinking face before it hit realization but he quickly went back to his i don't care demeanor.
He slid back to his other side of the booth.

I wonder what's going through Blake's mind.
