twenty eight
Blake | 1st Period
"I fucking made her cry man." I said, punching a nearby locker.
"You think I didn't see that? So that's what you chose?" Ace snapped.
It was first period and since Ella was in my first block, I pathetically decided to skip it. Not wanting to see her after making her cry.
Usually, I'd sit in the back and watch as she'd scribble in the corner of her paper during the lesson, or watch as she'd do her homework for that day and turn it in ten minutes after class starts or something along those lines but today, I was too pathetic to go and face her.
"I didn't choose that." I mumbled.
"So what'd you choose then because you didn't fucking choose to tell her."
"I didn't choose anything."
"Oh really? Because it looks like you chose to be pathetic."
If anyone else would've ever said that to me, I would attempt to kill them but Nicholas, he gets a pass. He's the only one who can say shit like that to me and get away with it.
Besides Ella, you mean.
And her too considering the fact she smacked me and called me an asshole and I didn't even want to do anything to her.
I thought she didn't cuss.
Looks like you drove her to it.
"Are you at least going to her birthday bash?"
"Nah."
"Why not man." Ace said, sighing.
"I just feel like I still can't face her but I need you to do me a favor."
"What's up?"
"I bought her something, make sure she gets it?"
"Yeah I got you."
Ella | After School
I was supposed to be meeting Gracie before meeting Kelly in the library.
I was confused all day. I didn't, and still don't, understand why Blake was acting like that. He looked so...mean. Meaner than he usually is.
But then again, he also looked a bit vulnerable because he was showing emotions and he never does that. His demeanor is always I don't care.
I quickly switched my song to Got You On My Mind by NF and slipped my book bag onto my back and walked out of my classroom. I was supposed to be meeting Gracie in the front of the school, so I headed that way.
I rounded the corner and gasped as I collided with something and wet stuff spilled all over my shirt, shorts and legs.
"OH MY GOD. I'm so so sorry!" A voice screeched before I felt hands trying to wipe away the liquid.
I looked down at my outfit to see red liquid all over my clothes with brown hands tying to wipe away the stains that I knew weren't going anywhere. I then looked at the owner of the hands to see tears streaming down a pretty girls face.
"Hey hey, you can stop." I said softly.
She dropped her hands and sighed, more tears coming down her face.
"Why're you crying?" I asked, taking out a earbud and pausing my music.
"Because I ruined your clothes!" She said, getting even more hysterical.
"It's okay. They're just clothes. I can get more."
"But you're the twins sister, I don't want anything to happen to me."
"What's your name?"
"M-Mia." She hesitated while wiping her eyes.
"Okay Mia. Nothing will happen to you. Gracie and Grayson won't do anything to you. This was an accident right?"
"YES! Yes, I'd never want to spill anything on anyone on purpose."
"Okay then, it's fine. I promise." I said, reassuring her.
"Okay." She said nodding.
"What was it anyways?" I asked, laughing.
"Fruit Punch." She said, smiling and laughing a little.
"Yeah that's not going to really come out, but it's okay. How much was it?" I asked, opening my crossbody.
"No. No no no, no need to pay me. I was the one who spilled my drink on you." She said, laughing.
"I know, but I want to make sure you can buy another one."
" I can. No worries." She said, shrugging.
"Are you sure?"
"Yep."
"Okay then. Nice to meet you, Mia."
"You too, Ella."
I finished heading to the bathroom and opened the door seeing some cheerleaders changing and some just standing around talking. I spotted Gracie talking to Aria who of course had Mariana with her.
Ever since that day in the cafeteria when Kelly basically flipped out on her, we haven't spoken. Out of the three of us, Kelly and I are the only ones speaking. I think it's sad because Mariana and I were such great friends, we were bestfriends and now we're nothing.
"Hey." I said, grabbing their attention.
"Ew, what's on you? Period Blood?" Aria said, causing Gracie to push her.
"Shut the fuck up, Aria but seriously what's on you?"
"This girl spilled her drink on me by accident, no big deal." I said, shrugging.
"No big deal? Your clothes are ruined." Gracie said.
"Yeah but I'm not doing anything but studying today, so I'm good." I said.
"Yeah, you thought. Anyways, I made reservations for your birthday." Gracie said.
"Reservations? Where?" I said.
"Just a restaurant downtown. Practice is over at five so Grayson and I will meet you and Kelly there right after." Gracie said.
"And there goes my simple evening." I said.
"Oh shut up. Be there by five. Here's your clothes." She said, handing me one of her cheer bags..
"Okay and uh thanks." I said, grabbing the bag.
"Yep, see you later." Gracie said, kissing my cheek and walking off with Aria and Mariana behind her.
I left out of the bathroom with the bag and headed to the library, trying to ignore my sticky clothes.
I found Kelly sitting at a table writing in a notebook. She looked up at me as I pulled out the chair in front of her.
"I swear, every time I see you, you have something on you." She said, shaking her head.
"Hush. Apparently we have reservations tonight downtown."
"Yeah. Gracie told me last night."
"What? Why wasn't I informed?"
"Because it's for your birthday." She said, laughing.
"Yeah true. So apparently we have to be there at five."
"Well it's 4:10 now, so let's get ready at my house?" She said, looking at her phone.
"What about studying?"
"We can do that tomorrow? I mean it will be Saturday." I said.
"Okay sure."
She packed up her papers and we walked out the building, heading to my car.
"So hows your birthday so far?" She asked as we got into my car, placing the bags into the back.
"Well excluding how Blake was being a jerk this morning, pretty good. Even when Mia spilled her drink on me." I said, laughing and starting the engine.
"Yeah, he's a jerk and who's Mia?"
"Some girl who spilled her drink on me while I was heading to meet Gracie. She was basically terrified that something was going to happen to her." I said, cutting on my blinker.
"Why would she think that?" She asked, tapping on her screen.
"Because of my brother and sister. She was honestly terrified."
"Well I mean, they do scare people. More specifically Gracie. Damn she's scary."
"Yeah she can be." I said, laughing.
I pulled up to her home and cut the engine. I grabbed the cheer bag while she grabbed her backpack and we got out, heading into the house.
"Mom? I'm here and I brought Ella!" Kelly yelled out, locking the door behind her.
A short woman with brown hair came around the corner with a warm smile and apron.
"Your Kelly's bestfriend?" She asked me, smiling.
"Yes. I'm Ella Grace." I said, returning her smile.
My parents always told me that my first and middle name sounded more professional and mature together so whenever I introduce myself, always introduce myself as Ella Grace.
Blake was different though, I only said Ella with him and to the very day, I had no idea why.
"Wow, you're beautiful." She said, pulling me into a hug.
"Oh, thank you." I said, returning the short hug.
"I'm Mrs-" She paused and her face expression dropped before quickly returning back to the smile. "Ms. Lee, Kelly's mother." She finished.
"It's nice to meet you. Your home is lovely." I honestly said, looking around the one story home.
"Oh thank you. It took us forever to get it the way we liked." Ms. Lee said.
"And now we love it. It's home." Kelly said.
After finishing up our chat with Ms. Lee, we were now going down the hall to Kelly's room.
"She's lovely." I said.
"Yes she is. She's my role model." Kelly said, opening a door. "It's not much but it's-" I cut her off.
"Gorgeous." I said.
Her room really was simple and since I loved simple, I loved her room. It really screamed Kelly all over it.
"Thanks." She grinned. "Now, let's get beautified." She said grinning.
