Chapter 29: Bye Racy
You tried not to have your tears stream down the side of your face as quick. Whining in annoyance when your damp cheeks didn't seem to obey your stubborn requests, the fabric that your cheek rested on got wet.
"I'm sorry," you popped, sniffling as you tried your hardest not to shake while clinging on to the girl that tried to soothe you.
She simply chuckled lightly while rubbing at your back.
"Aw no, it's totally alright," she sweetly let out as she moved the hair that fell at your face behind your ear.
Her touch reassured you, but something about it still making you cry.
"Thank you for today," you numbly let out as you snuggled your cheek into her thigh.
Racy smiled, nodding as she traced her thumb along your jaw slowly.
"You didn't deserve that," she sighed as she tried not to touch her swollen cheek, "they were being assholes."
"You went all hulk mode," you said chuckling when remembering Racy attacking the assholes in your school that had tried to bother you regarding the idea of your dead parents.
"Yeah well I've also lost my parents and hate it when people use that shit against me," she chimed as she played with your hair.
You sighed as her fingertips went across your scalp, the movement making the aching in your head slowly subside.
"You've always had my back," you said as you moved to face her, laying on her still.
She grinned down at you, brows wiggling lightly.
"What are friends for?" she popped and you smiled hugely, laughing when she tried to wipe at your cheek but you stubbornly wiped it yourself.
"Don't baby me," you mumbled laughing.
She pouted trying to pull you close towards you. You simply were laughing hysterically as you almost fell off the bed when trying to get away from her.
"Let me love you!" she playfully yelled out.
.
Jungkook could hear your breath hitching from where he lay next to you.
Eyes softening as he stared at the back of your hair, he lightly let his hand wrap around your form in reassurance.
You were crying.
Propping himself up slowly onto one elbow, he leaned his head in so that he could catch a glimpse of your sorrow-filled face.
"What's wrong?" he asked, extremely soft as you slowly turned onto your back and looked up at him.
You tried not thinking about the past memory of yours, trying to get the woman you once called your sister out of your mind. Smiling lightly past your tears, you let your hand softly meet Jungkook's cheek.
His concerned expression remained no matter how many times you tried to tell him that you were alright.
"It's nothing," you'd say, "I'm fine really."
He saw right through it.
"Is this about us?" he asked and you snorted, wiping below your eyes before shaking your head instantly.
He simply grew more confused.
"Wha-"
"Racy," you simply let out, smiling a tad as you traced little patterns onto his arm that wrapped around you.
He nodded, silent. He wanted to listen to you.
"I've just been thinking a lot about how things used to be with her...how close we were," you sighed out before wiping thoroughly at your cheeks.
His thumb grazed your temple softly, his way of having your mind and body relax almost instantly.
"I don't know," you shakily let out, "it's just so much has gone to shit and we haven't been mature about communication either...It's just been hard to get used to- this life without her."
"It's healthy," Jungkook lightly piped and your face scrunched.
You used to think that too.
"Is it?" you asked pained.
Jungkook studied your confused and hurt form. Hating seeing you so conflicted, he swallowed harshly. There was nothing he could really do other than listen...
"I used to think that having her disappear from my life was healthy," you lowly let out, "but now that I think about it...if I do that, I'm running. I'm running from her- I'm running from my issues with her."
"Racy runs," he breathed out and you whined.
"Exactly!" you pouted, "I don't want to be Racy. I don't want to push everyone away and run from my problems! I want to solve things, have closure, I-I-"
"You should talk to her," Jungkook said smiling slightly when you glared at him.
"What?" he asked chuckling, "you want to stop running right? Face her without punching her straight in the face."
You pursed your lips from smiling and he rolled his eyes.
"Just talk to her without having her catch your fists in the process," he sighed as he rubbed at your arm.
You smiled at how sweet his touch was.
Nodding, you sighed. "I'll talk to her when I can," you came to, "I just, I don't know what to say."
"You two used to be inseparable," he said before letting his lips meet your cheek, "starting up a conversation might be easier than you'd think."
You snuggle into him as he laid back down and hugged your form tightly from behind. Feeling his soft breathing by your neck, you swallowed harshly when recalling his words.
"You'd be surprised at how hard it can get after such betrayal," you sighed out.
Eyes shutting when he sweetly pecked below your ear and moaned sleepily against your hair, he stretched against you and you smiled before hugging at his arms that wrapped around you.
No more tears left your eyes, sleep finding you easily when his scent surrounded you instantly.
-
And yes, it was very hard.
You couldn't find yourself to speak every chance you got.
In the morning, all packed and ready to go back from this life-changing getaway, you managed to move down the hall in attempts to meet Jungkook who was in the lobby.
Another breakfast buffet was being served. However, this time, there were more security near the area.
You couldn't find yourself to speak this time around when seeing Racy pop out from the room next to yours.
Taken aback at the fact that she had just left Yoongi's room, you tried not to be too obvious over your presence when he slowly came out of the room too.
Both seemed upset. You however focused on their morning-after appearances.
It simply intrigued you at first, the moment it started bothering you was when Iris seemed to awkwardly walk past you and the other two by the bedroom door.
"Morning," Yoongi softly said to Iris.
She seemed to nod over at him before looking away instantly, her head sinking.
That was when you felt a little sick.
Something about Racy's smile when she eventually saw you snooping in the hall made you feel better quick though...
-
You couldn't find yourself to speak to her while having breakfast either.
It was relatively quiet. Jungkook's hand occasionally rubbing at your back and asking if you were alright. You'd nod, smile sweetly at him, but he saw right through each expression thrown his way.
You simply found yourself to study both Yoongi and Racy who were incredibly quiet while eating.
You almost stabbed the front of your lip with your fork when accidentally missing your mouth. It was then you decided on looking away from them and trying to focus on the eggs before you.
-
No words were said while riding to the airport.
No words were said while settling in bags.
No words were said while she went to go sit in her seat far from yours next to Jungkook's.
"Y/N?"
Your head snapped towards Jungkook instantly. Realizing that his hand was over yours, you asked him what was up. His eyes narrowed over at you trying to act as if you were completely alright.
"You talk to her yet?"
"Who?" you asked, trying to act oblivious.
Jungkook grinned at you.
You sighed, trying not to smile at him being to sly.
"Alright, no I haven't," you piped, "but hey! You haven't either! So cut it with the closure bullsh-"
"I have," he lightly piped as he slowly let his belt lock in for the flight taking off.
Your mouth gaped open.
"What? W-When?"
"After breakfast," he said shrugging, "we talked about us...everything that happened. I also made it clear that I'm madly in love with you."
You smiled at how cutely he sang out that last bit, your stomach fluttering when he pecked your lower cheek before going back to focus on his belt he struggled with.
"We talked about a lot," he sighed out remembering when he had helped her pack, "it was nice to have that...to talk to her about where we both stand now."
"Where does she stand?" you asked curious.
He grinned, "Ask her yourself."
You whined and he laughed.
"Well her plan is to leave for a bit and try and figure herself out," he said, grinning like a moron when the belt finally came through and he heard the satisfying click.
Looking over at you, he noticed you in deep thought, probably questioning what exactly he meant by that.
"Leave?"
"Yes, I guess she's finally tired of running away from trying to understand what exactly she wants in life," he smiled warmly as you tried to register all of it.
"Where is she going?" you asked breathless. Your stomach turning over the thought of possibly never seeing her again until she decided on coming back.
"She didn't tell me."
You felt sick again.
His eyes were soft.
"You should talk to her before she boards for the second plan when reaching Korea."
Nodding, you sighed when he kissed your temple lightly before pointing over at your belt.
"Don't want you flying out of the plane now," he teasingly let out and you chuckled before trying to wear the belt yourself.
The fact that you got it through in less of a second caused his forehead to crinkle in quick.
You laughed, pinching at his cheeks as he irritably moved his face away from your fingertips.
-
Yoongi looked over at the woman who was stuck sitting next to him. Eyes bouncing down to their knees that awkwardly tried not grazing each others, he was trying his hardest to look out the window of the plane as they were now in air.
Although the sight was beautiful, the sight next to him seemed to catch his attention more.
"You sleep well?" he asked softly, leaning his head lightly over towards Iris who seemed to look over at him slowly.
He watched her push her glasses up before smiling at him nervously. "Y-Yeah, I'm glad you and Racy had a night to talk things through," she chimed sweetly, "I could tell you two needed it."
"Thank you for suggesting it," he said lightly, smiling sweetly back at the girl.
Iris nodded, looking back forward.
Yoongi quickly caught her gaze again when he leaned in towards her.
She panicked, her head arching back. His brows jumped at her thinking he was trying something. Shaking his head, he simply slowly leaned forward, getting up.
"Sorry, I just had to use the rest room," he clarified, getting up from his seat.
Iris's eyes widened, letting out a pathetic laugh, she nodded before giving him room to move away from her.
"So what is she thinking of doing?" she asked awkwardly as he moved past her, his belt alost grazing the frame of her glasses when almost falling on top of her.
Both going red and awkward, he tried not to have his voice high as he tried to make it out and away from the woman who was making things difficult for him.
"She thinks that I need space from her," he lightly popped, "It hurt like a bitch but when have the women I've ever cared for actually returned the feelings right?"
He nervously laughed and Iris's eyes softened at that.
Before she could say anything, the man was already striding down towards the washroom of the plane.
She pushed her glasses up on her face again, trying not to remember his bulge practically almost grazing her cheek bone just now.
Feeling bad while glancing over at Racy who sat quietly at her spot, Iris puckered her lips as she stood up and moved towards the girl.
Racy smiled sweetly and tiredly up at her when she came and Iris had to look behind her quick to make sure there wasn't someone behind her that the woman was smiling at.
Racy never used to smile at her.
"Did you need something?"
"Y-Yeah," Iris said skeptical as she tried to convince herself to keep professional. Bitchstick be acting real weird ever since I attacked her...
Racy waited.
Iris became uncomfortable.
"I just came by to switch seats," Iris lowly said, "I can see both Yoongi and you are upset and maybe a little more time together would be good...you care for one another- in a weird, unhealthy, fucked up way but I-"
Iris cut herself off when Racy's brow cocked over at her.
Clearing her throat and trying not to have her elbow slip off of the seat she was resting it on, Iris played with her frames again.
"Just go," Iris whined below her breath and Racy laughed lightly.
"Fine."
Watching the woman get up, Iris sighed, thanking the lords for having a seat to herself with no awkwardness or accidental dick stamps to the face.
Resting her head on the seat behind her, she was about to breathe in the air behind her only to have her one eye shoot open when hearing a voice echo before her.
"Sorry, can I just squeeze through?"
Iris almost slipped off the chair when seeing the man with the low voice before her.
"For sure!" Iris said as she instantly made more room for him to pass by.
It bummed her out a bit that his bulge didn't come anywhere near her, instead, he was a total social butterfly as he sweetly smiled at her before sitting down into his seat.
"What happened to the girl beside m-"
"We switched," Iris quickly said, grinning like an idiot.
Internally high-fiving herself, she loved how lucky she got to be seated next to the hottest man to ever walk the earth...well, to walk on this plane at least.
-
Jungkook had to practically drag you away from your bags when seeing Racy start to walk over to the different part of the terminal.
Swearing over at him and trying to call for Iris who was too busy flirting with some unknown man, you were pushed towards Racy who suddenly stopped when Jungkook called for her.
Building up the courage, you let your greatest death stare to be unleashed on to the boy you loved.
His smile fell so quick as he called for Iris, moving away instantly.
Smiling nervously over at the woman who quietly waited, you glanced over at Yoongi who stepped lightly away for a moment in order to give you two room.
You stood before her, not knowing what to say at all.
In all your years of joking around with the woman, crying with the woman, arguing with the woman- overall, growing up with her. You had nothing at all to rip out of your sealed mouth.
"I'm going to miss you," Racy lightly let out.
You could tell that she was uncomfortable too. Suddenly your heart tore.
"Where are you going?"
She hesitated.
Your eyes were begging.
"I think for right now...it's best if you don't know," she softly let out, smiling, "that is if you ever care."
She laughed awkwardly and you felt your eyes sting as you nodded hastily.
"I do."
She let out a breathy chuckle, her eyes watering as well. "Really?" she asked, her heart left on an edge at this point.
Your face scrunched, feeling your insides com-bust and clash with one another. You hated feeling so defeated.
Nodding, you let out a light chuckle yourself.
She smiled, a tear hitting her cheek.
You pouted at her suddenly crying.
"Don't cry or else I'll start springing," you warned and Racy laughed before throwing herself at you.
You couldn't hug her back at first. Feeling your body stiffen underneath her touch, it seemed so foreign...
"If you cry I'll simply baby you," she chuckled out at your ear and your whole body went limp.
The familiarity in her tone of voice, her sniffle, her smell, and her touch hit you like a bus. Having your arms move around her instantly, you tried your hardest not to cry as you let your face bury into her hair.
"I'm sorry I went hulk mode on you," you apologized.
Waiting for Racy to say something, you shook your head, pouting excessively, "No, no, I'm not sorry for that! You deserved it."
Racy sniffled, laughing, "yes I did. I should be the one apologizing. I'm so sorry."
You couldn't find words to say.
"You don't have to say anything alright?" she sighed out, smiling as she pulled away, "just promise me you'll be safe."
You nodded, letting tears finally fall.
"I'll get my shit together," Racy mumbled as she fixed her bag that lamely sat on her shoulder, "and you...well you try and answer my call in the near future."
She smiled tiredly.
"I'll understand if you don't pick up though," she said softly, nodding lightly.
You nodded back.
"I guess we'll see," you lightly let out.
She nodded, sad, "Goodbye Y/N..."
"Bye Racy," you said, smiling warmly at her as she move back.
You wiped lamely at your cheeks as she slowly started to move over to the next terminal, glancing over at Yoongi who watched her. Your eyes softened at the soft tear that landed on to his cheek too.
Iris watched Jungkook move to console you, his arms around you instantly. Smiling lightly, she tried not getting mad over Jungkook pulling her away from the hot guy on the plane as he had now disappeared.
Great, she sighed internally, rolling her eyes at the entire situation, I've just lost my soulmate.
Having her gaze casually meet Yoongi who she slowly found her body to stop next to, her eyes softened at the fact that the man was teary eyed.
Lips parting, it was bizarre for her to see her bias tear up in real life next to her. Eyeing where he was looking, she watched as his orbs never left Racy who slowly started to disappear into the crowd of new travelers.
Hesitantly letting her hand move to his side, her fingers touched the side of his hand that lifelessly remained still. Having her fingers trail past his palm, her eyes never left Racy as she slowly felt his hand hold hers back.
He was hurting and she knew he didn't want to express it. So instead, she let herself become comfortable with her soft hand in his, him simply needing that support in that moment.
"Thank you," he softly said, his eyes never daring to look over at her.
Iris nodded, biting down at her lip.
Both snapped out of it however when Jungkook's cheery voice tried to brighten up the mood.
"Now it's time to officially introduce you as my real girlfriend to the others now isn't it?" he asked teasingly as he hugged you tightly into his side.
He was trying to have you not cry, his attempts were adorable.
You chuckled, wiping at your cheeks before kissing him softly.
He smiled against your lips.
Things were finally concluding to be for the better.
