Chapter 14: I Missed You Hyung
Jungkook was frozen, all thoughts of you and Racy lost when looking at his hyung before him in pure shock.
"You wanted to talk?" Jungkook asked breathless. The very moment Yoongi had touched his arm to have him stop from leaving, caused the wind to be knocked out of the maknae.
Yoongi smiled lightly as he nodded, "yes."
Jungkook looked around him, the rest of the hyung's had left already. He was completely alone with Yoongi. He simply became more confused.
"Alone? Just me alone?"
Yoongi laughed before patting Jungkook's head. Jungkook's eyes softened as he did so, he smiled so huge at his hyung touching him so lovingly.
"Yes..." Yoongi said before slumping tiredly against the mirror that outstretched along a whole wall. He let his head rest against the mirror before patting at the side beside him.
Jungkook grinned cutely as he practically slid on the ground next to Yoongi when sitting close to him.
Yoongi was slightly taken a back about the space but didn't question it, especially not because of the maknae smiling so greatly.
"What did you want to talk about? Taehyung?" He asked, still smiling largely. The issues that he was cultivating in his mind earlier while dancing suddenly disappearing as he couldn't stop staring at the silver haired man.
Yoongi laughed as he shook his head. The maknae looked so excited.
"No I wanted to talk to you," he said slowly and Jungkook nodded as he straightened up.
Yoongi licked his lips slowly, "I wanted to talk to you about Racy and Y/N."
Jungkook's smile faltered.
"I could see you were upset over them through the practice—heck, everyone that was in this room knew exactly why you were sad," Yoongi said quietly as he smiled cutely at Jungkook who was now quiet.
"What about them?" Jungkook asked and Yoongi swallowed harshly. He knew how the boy had reacted to Jimin and you, and didn't want him to react the same way with him. The last thing Yoongi needed was another member to hate his guts.
"First," Yoongi said slowly, "You and Racy..."
Jungkook had trouble looking his older friend in the eye.
"Aish, Jungkook-ah I know how you feel about her it's fine," Yoongi sighed out as he rubbed at the boys neck in reassurance.
Jungkook relaxed, but his eyes still never met the man before him.
"Although I truly believe that you don't actually love her..."
Jungkook's brows furrowed deeply at that, his gaze snapping immediately in his hyung's direction.
Yoongi's lips pursed at the expression. He knew he had to bottle up his opinion on the infatuation and simply focused on why he was here in the first place.
"What do you mea—"
"You say you love her and yet you're claiming to befriend her," Yoongi piped, changing the subject.
Jungkook went quiet again.
"That's not right Jungkook. It's not fair to either of you...you want more from her."
The dark haired boy tensed again, his eyes glazing over as he stared down at the ground.
"You hope that if you stay her friend and be sweet...she'll maybe return the feelings you feel for her," Yoongi sighed out, "Trust me. I've been in that position with a woman before and it sucks. Although she never found out, I got hurt almost every day when she was out with her boyfriend."
"You had a friend like that?" Jungkook asked his voice extremely soft.
Yoongi smiled a tiny bit, "it wasn't Racy don't worry...you already know the story with her."
Jungkook nodded slowly.
"But what everyone is trying to get you to see is your intentions Jungkook," Yoongi softly remarked, "you need to think thoroughly over who exactly you want in your life and why."
Jungkook smiled with difficulty over at his hyung.
Yoongi suddenly put his arm around him.
"Promise me you'll at least try and think about what you want okay?"
It took Jungkook a while to slowly nod at his hyung.
Yoongi grew proud of himself so quick. He was going to flaunt about his easy success to Jimin later. The boy reacted differently with Yoongi than with the others that tried to get through to him.
"That's all Jimin and Y/N have been trying to tell you," he teasingly popped out while playing with the maknae's hair.
Jungkook smiled at Yoongi showing him affection.
"Now Y/N...whats up with you being so rude to her?" Yoongi tested and Jungkook's smile fell again.
Yoongi smiled tightly at him when remembering talking to you just a few hours ago.
"I spoke to her today," Yoongi began softly, "She truly believes that what you two had, meant nothing to you."
Jungkook's face grew pained at that and Yoongi noticed.
"That's not true though," Jungkook whined as he felt the sudden urge to kick something.
"She's let herself believe that you don't care for her."
"I know," he mumbled as Yoongi chuckled.
"Ahh, Jungkook-ah why are you so blinded by Racy? You fail to see such a beautiful girl that genuinely cares for you," Yoongi argued.
"She was a great friend," Jungkook said smiling painfully, "I was not."
"You can still change that," Yoongi said grinning before shoving the maknae playfully.
Jungkook's nose scrunched. "She hates me," he sighed out and Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Trust me," he said laughing, "she does not hate you."
Jungkook's forehead crinkled at his hyung amused but didn't question it when his attention got directed to Yoongi getting up.
"All everyone wants is for you to be happy," the older friend said smiling as he extended his hand for Jungkook to take.
Jungkook's lips lifted upwards as he took the man's hand and slowly stood up himself. Yoongi was about to let go only to have Jungkook hold on tighter.
"Hyung?"
Yoongi looked over at him confused.
Jungkook struggled in speaking, Yoongi's eyes softened. He knew exactly what the boy was trying to say.
"I'm sorry for that night where I lied," Jungkook said ashamed. He had hurt his hyung that night and couldn't help but always think about it.
Yoongi smiled as he patted their intertwined hands with his free one.
"It's okay, I understand why you did it," he said reassuringly before smiling larger when Jungkook looked down at the ground.
His face scrunched playfully, "Aish! Jungkook-ah, quite being sad about it okay? It's okay and we're okay."
Jungkook smiled so huge when Yoongi ruffled at his hair only to pull back disgusted over the wetness. "Why are you even sweating? You barley danced well," Yoongi teased and didn't register exactly when Jungkook started to breathily laugh.
About to leave, Yoongi let out a low groan when Jungkook suddenly threw himself at him. Smiling as he tried to hug the maknae back but was squeezed together, he ended up letting out a chuckle instead.
"I missed you hyung," he said sniffling at Yoongi's shoulder.
Yoongi's eyes softened at the boy crying. It was a shock to the man as Jungkook was just smiling a few seconds ago...
"I missed you too," Yoongi cooed sweetly as his head rested gently onto the side of Jungkook's hair.
-
Racy pursed her lips as her knuckles hovered over your bedroom door. She was struggling to knock and check up on you ever since you had ran from the fight crying.
Being locked in the room for hours, none of what happened sat right with Racy. The fact that you admitted to being in love with Jungkook still shocked the woman who stood frozen outside your door.
"I'm sorry," Racy sighed out quietly as she finally mustered up all the dignity she had left. Walking backwards slowly, she sighed, knowing your form inside the room probably didn't hear.
Deciding on leaving the house for a walk to clear her mind, Racy stopped when her phone buzzed. Her brows jumped a bit at the text she had received from Jungkook.
I need to talk to you.
- Jungkook
About what?
-Racy
She waited for the text bubble to reveal. It took him forever to send it, the time making Racy uneasy.
About everything.
Please try coming by soon.
- Jungkook.
Racy's eyes narrowed a bit. Sighing as she replied back with an "okay", she knew that seeing Jungkook wasn't a 'walk to clear her mind' but it definitely was an excuse for her to leave the house for a long while...
Moving down the stairs, it didn't take long for the girl to instantly ditch the house and the upsetting atmosphere behind it.
-
Jungkook had remained in the practice room alone.
It had been about three hours of him just sitting and listening to music while the other members were coped up in the studio down the hall.
Jungkook didn't notice how large the gap between time had went from him talking to Yoongi, to now, numbly thinking over all the decisions and mistakes he had made the past few weeks.
Everyone kept telling him they wanted him to be happy...but Jungkook hated that he didn't know what exactly his happiness lied alongside. He was a mess and he knew it himself.
Looking down at his phone for about the past thirty minutes now, he courageously did what he wanted to do for the past hour. He finally texted Racy to meet him again.
Swallowing as she agreed to coming, his thumb lingered on your name in his contact list. Face squinting as he was about to text you too, he swore out loud to himself as he simply ended up calling you instead.
The ringing on it's own causing Jungkook's insides to toss around his body, butterflies erupting out of his ass at this point. He was nervous.
It felt like it rang forever.
His breath got caught in his throat when you picked up.
"Hello?"
Jungkook swallowed hard when hearing your voice on the line. He didn't notice the slight waver in your voice, as his mind was set on trying to learn how to speak again.
"Hi," he managed to pop out.
His eyes shut and his face scrunched when you hung up on him. She probably didn't check the caller ID, Jungkook sighed internally. He knew that there was no other way you'd actually pick up a call from him at this point in your relationship.
He tried about three more times. It was like a mission for him to not text you. He wanted to hear your voice, to talk to you about this...he wasn't going to blatantly send you some irrelevant text telling you to meet-especially after what had happened this morning.
He almost shit himself when around the fourth time calling, where you actually picked up. About to speak, his brows jumped at the annoyed "what?" that he could from you over the phone.
His heart shattered.
"Are you crying?" he asked breathlessly.
He could hear you try to maintain yourself on the other line. The fact that you were trying to hide the idea of you crying simply made him more upset.
"What's wrong?" he asked worriedly.
"What did you want?" you piped, avoiding his questions.
He pursed his lips slowly as he knew he shouldn't push boundaries. He couldn't help it though...hearing you trying not to cry over the phone made his insides turn. For some reason, Jungkook knew exactly why you were crying too. It was because of him. Who else would make Y/N cry? he asked himself as he huffed in a breath of annoyance. He had been making you cry excessively the past few weeks.
"I wanted to see you," he said unsure.
There was no noise but heavy breathing and sniffles from the other end.
"I know I'm the last person you'd want to see-"
"Yup."
"But I really need to talk to you...I need my friend back," Jungkook chimed. He was smiling lightly as he said it.
There was, again, no answer.
"Y/N, I care about you," Jungkook sighed out, rubbing at his face tiredly, "so much you don't even understand. Heck, I don't even get just how much I care for you...it freaks me out sometimes."
"Keep talking..."
He grinned, letting out a chuckle at what you mumbled.
"The rest of the talking we'll do in person?" he tried, his voice high near the end. He couldn't handle getting rejected to meet you right now.
It took a long while for you to respond.
But when you finally did, Jungkook's face lightened up so quick.
"Fine," you mumbled.
"Really?" he asked shocked and suddenly excited.
"Yeah."
"Alright, come by around 8 tonight, that cool?" he asked smiling like a complete child.
"Sure," you numbly let out.
"Thank you Y/N," he said genuinely and you sighed before responding.
"Bye..."
"See you," Jungkook chimed and waited for you to hang up.
When you finally did, he grinned largely before glancing over at the practice room's front door.
Now all he had to do was talk to Racy and you separately and smoothly...
