Chapter 12: I'm Done Feeling Used.
Jungkook felt his palms sweat as he rang the doorbell.
He didn't know why he was so nervous. Shifting his weight constantly from one side of his leg to the other, he hated feeling the constant turning of his insides when waiting impatiently on the porch.
He rang the doorbell again.
A girl sang out a, "coming!" as loud steps were heard stumbling towards the door. Jungkook smiled hugely at the noise of the woman on the other side as he watched her open the door. His smile faltered a bit as the fact that the fumbling and clumpsy woman on the other side wasn't the one his mind kept referring to.
"Hi Kookie," she chimed sweetly as she ran back inside the house to grab her things. "Step inside for a bit, I'll be right with you," she yelled past her shoulder as she rushed through the hallways more.
"Hi...Racy," he sighed under his breath.
I'm here for Racy, he scolded internally when trying to get his mind to snap out of it. He had to stop thinking about you if he was going to stick to his words from that night.
Sure he knew he was being immature, but at the end of the day, ignorance was bliss wasn't it?
Unknowingly having his neck arch up towards the steps, his lips puckered as he bit nervously on his inner cheek.
"Is she here?" he asked softly to Racy who was putting her shoes on now.
Racy stopped for a moment, glancing over at Jungkook who swallowed harshly at the look in the woman's eyes. "I wanted to see her," he said smiling uncomfortably, confused over the look of discomfort in her eyes.
He waited for Racy to reply as searched for you to maybe pop out from your room.
He smiled lightly when remembering you waking up almost every morning to find him here. You would stumble on the stairs only to run down and greet him with a hug. Jungkook chose to never question why you were the only girl, other than Racy, who he would willingly wake up so early for...
"She's asleep," Racy mumbled when remembering the silent treatment you gave her when returning home.
Jungkook smiled largely at the thought of you back from Shawn's place. He still had no idea who the boy was, and the continuous thought of you staying with him bothered Jungkook. Jungkook didn't know why it irritated him.
"What's it to you anyway? Don't you like hate her or something now?" Racy grumbled as she grabbed her stuff and stood up.
Jungkook's brows jumped at two things. One, he didn't understand the sudden tone and attitude coming from the girl. Two, he was surprised by her choice of words. "Hate? No of course not," he popped out in awe, "Y/N's my friend."
"Oh really?" Racy asked as she laughed a bit while moving towards the door, "never knew friend's were that bitchy and rude to one another."
Jungkook's confusion simply grew at her remark, about to ask what was up with her, both froze at the door when a voice mumbled from the stairs.
"Well you're bithcy and rude to him all the time and yet he still considers you a friend," you defended from the stairs as your half-sleeping form moved tensely downstairs.
Jungkook's eyes met your form still in your pajamas. He smiled lightly only to have his smile falter when Racy suddenly nudged him.
"Yeah well he doesn't consider me as a friend," Racy piped grinning, "he's in love with me."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed so tightly at that as he studied the smug woman beside him.
Your lips parted at her saying such a thing so easily.
Racy noticed she screwed up the moment she blurted such a phrase out. Her eyes softened immediately as she looked over at Jungkook.
"I didn't-"
"You're right," you piped softly, you gaze bouncing between the two by the door. You were frozen on the staircase. Your heart hurt by simply eyeing the boy you cared so much for, being hurt yet again.
Sighing internally you tried to make your point clear to him again. He had to realize that there was no way he could fairly be friend's with the woman he claimed to be in love with. There was no way. "You're right," you sighed out again, your eyes on Jungkook only, "he doesn't consider you as a friend...he can't. It would be unfair if he did, knowing how he feels about you."
You saw the muscles in his jaw tighten as his gaze fell to the ground quick.
"Yeah well I guess I've never been good at picking the right friends," he snapped as he finally looked over at you, "I mean I just called you one...that says a lot now doesn't it?"
You felt your arms go numb for a moment. Feeling like you were about to fall, it surprised you at the fact that you managed to stay upright when he glared over at you. You felt your eyes water, "Really?" you chimed painfully. You had enough of him continuously making you look like the bad guy when all you were trying to do from the beginning was help him move on from the one and only girl that ever hurt him so badly.
"Really? I'm the bad friend?" you let out softly, you finger pointing shakily over at your chest, "After basically tossing me aside so easily, forgetting everything we had been through-neglecting everything I did for you...I'm the shitty friend?!"
Jungkook's eyes shut. He was angry and frustrated, but at the same time he was just sad. He missed you. He missed you so much and yet he couldn't say shit.
"I was there every time Racy hurt you!" you yelled now, "and yet everytime she says something fucked up or insulting, you let her push you around! But when I say something that's in supportive or helpful for you, you yell back and get defensive?!"
Racy walked out the door.
Jungkook glanced over at her before looking over at you. He hadn't seen you in days after that one night where he had to drop you off. His heart fell to his stomach when noticing the tears in your sleepy eyes. You were a shaking mess.
"I know you don't consider me as a friend anymore," you said painfully and his lips parted, "but I'm sticking by everything I've been saying...get your priorities straight Jungkook."
"I-"
"If you cared for me at all," you shakily got out as you wiped at your cheek, "if what we had meant anything, just promise me that you'll work on doing things for you. Don't be pushed around and forced to certain scenarios that'll just hurt you in the end."
"I do care for you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Then show me," you said, smiling painfully at him, "show me by finally just being happy okay?"
He felt his eyes sting as you moved down the rest of the stairs.
"I'm glad you've let me go," you said softly as you stepped back and towards the hallway, "I'm done feeling used."
"I never meant to make you feel that way," he cooed.
You didn't say anything. The only thing on your clouded and frustrated mind was to remind yourself to calm down and stop crying in front of him.
He didn't know why he pulled the next move. He swore internally as he did, but he couldn't have you see him burst out into tears right after saying such words. So he pulled the abrupt move and walked right out.
You pursed your lips as he did, oblivious to him crying as he left.
-
You were a nervous wreck.
Pledging a mental note to simply walk the other way if you were to see Jungkook, you were on constant look out in the BigHit building when glaring over at Jimin every chance you got.
"What?" he chimed laughing before moving on the chair across from you, "Just because Jungkook and you are having a rough patch right now doesn't mean the rest of us can't talk to you."
"Rough patch?" you asked in disbelief, "Jimin, I've told you before and I'll say it again. Jungkook and I are no longer friends. We aren't 'fighting' or 'cutely avoiding one another'. He hates me alright?"
Jimin pursed his lips tightly.
You didn't know if it was because you called him informally or if it was because of you had exposed your problem with Jungkook again. Both possible reasons were about the same in Jimin's eyes.
"First of all-" he cut himself off as he moved to hold your hand.
Your brows jumped high as he did. He lightly squeezed them in reassurance as you tried to rip them away from him.
"First of all," Jimin sang out again, grinning at your struggling form, "it's oppa, not Jimin."
You rolled your eyes.
"Second of all," he mumbled under his breath, "Jungkook and you are still friends alright? I understand he's being a love-struck ass, but so have you so get over it alright?"
Your body went limp at that, your heart skipping a frightened beat.
"What?"
"I called you a love-struck ass," he said smiling teasingly as he let your lifeless hand go before getting up from his chair, "because you know...you love Jungkook and all."
Your eyes went wide at that, a nervous and shocked laugh erupting from your awkward mouth immediately.
"Funny," you chimed through your teeth. You felt your heart racing as he simply shrugged smiling hugely at you.
"I see right through you."
"I'm more of an animal person," you blurted out nervous and he laughed.
"Mhm..."
"I'm serious," you said, getting up. He smiled at you being so jumpy and defensive. "If there's Kook hanging from a cliff versus a cute cat, I'd gladly ditch the dude for the pussy instead."
Jimin chocked on air.
"I don't love Jungkook," you argued quietly, looking around the little studio, "w-why would you think I did?"
Jimin simply smiled sweetly at you, he sighed, "Again, I see right through you."
"What does that mean?! What do you see?" you asked as you glanced down at yourself.
He rolled his eyes.
"Just make up already alright?" he mumbled as he moved to the door, "he may be okay with losing you as a friend but I'm not."
Your brows furrowed lightly, a small smile on your face. "Oh, we're friends now?" you asked teasingly and he rolled his eyes for what seemed like the tenth time this whole day.
You were still on edge for the remark he made about you being 'love-struck' as you glanced down to the ground again. You had to snap out of your daze however when he was half-way out the door.
"W-Wait! Where are you going?! Don't leave me in here alone," you yelled softly as he was about to leave, "you dragged me here to just leave me? What even-"
He took a while to slowly turn around and meet your eyes again.
"I know I said I wanted you here so we could hang," he said lightly, his face scrunched, almost as if he was nervous, "but I actually was asked to bring you here to meet Yoongi hyung."
Your jaw almost hit the ground beneath your feet.
"Yoongi hyung-what the actual fu-Jimin if you walk out that door without explaining why I'm here I will-"
He practically ran out.
"PARK JIMIN!"
You whined to yourself before hugging at your chest in defeat. "He better be joking about Suga, I ain't talking to know one," you mumbled under your breath as you moved towards the door, "especially not to-"
Your eyes met a chest in front of the door as you were about to storm out. Eyes shutting when you heard the unfamiliar voice, you planned on different brutal ways to kill Jimin as soon as Yoongi was done talking to you.
"Especially not to who?" Yoongi asked smiling lightly when looking down at the one he had heard so much about, "Me?"
One eye was shut, the other squinted open. You looked at the one you thought was mint-haired. Swearing at the fact that you barely even knew his hair colour let alone him as a person, you nervously squeaked out a "hello", you couldn't stop staring at his silver hair.
"I need to talk to you," he chuckled as he moved into the room, passing you.
You tried to remember what tutorials to watch when you got home regarding sharpening knives. Jimin was going to pay.
"A-About what?" you asked as you slowly turned around to see him getting comfortable by the glass table in the room.
He sat down on the chair where Jimin once was, before ushering politely for you to take a seat across from him.
He was so graceful. You felt like you swallowed down your whole tongue as he smiled at you.
"Close the door behind you please."
