How you got your soulmate mark:

Serving up drinks in Cid's Bar was a daily occurrence for you, it is your job after all. You mostly worked evening shifts from four to eight pm. On the weekends, you would take the night shift because that was when most folks would come in. You were wiping down the counter when you felt a burning sensation at the base of your neck. You dismissed it but you kept getting bothered by it, eventually checking it and seeing a pair of Jaig Eyes. Multiple people tried to win you over during your future shifts but you always showed them the mark and they would back off. Despite backing off almost immediately, some of them showed fear in their eyes as they grew wide upon seeing said mark. You thought it was weird but didn't bother asking them why. From that point forward, you were always self-conscious about your mark, also scared of what it could mean.

How you met:

The jukebox in the corner played music softly as you cleaned the recently used table. It was the weekend so you had to work double time meaning you were in charge of serving people and throwing out the drunks that got too friendly. You finished cleaning the table you were at and went back behind the counter to serve a new person sitting there. You put the rag away and turned to the hooded stranger.

"What can I get for you this evening?" You asked.

"Just water, please." They replied with a gruff voice.

You gave a small nod and turned to grab a cup. You walked over to the sink and switched the tap to cold. You held the cup underneath the stream of water. You turned off the faucet when it was filled about an inch below the rim. You walked back to the stranger and set the cup in front of him.

"Here you go, sir." You said.

"Thanks." He said simply, slightly stiffing.

He grabbed the cup and drank about half of before setting it back down. Before you walked away, you took notice of the helmet that sat next to him. Immediately noticing the pair of Jaig Eyes marked on it, you grew anxious.

"So, uh, you fought in the Clone Wars?" You asked, trying to start conversation.

"Hm?" He was brought out of his thoughts.

"Your helmet. I recognize that style anywhere."

"Oh, I guess you could say that."

"You served under General Skywalker, didn't you?"

He looked up at you with a shocked expression at the mention of his old General.

"H-How did you know?" He asked, uneasy.

"Oh, he spoke highly of you when he would visit me and my sister." You answered.

"That's him alright. He would always brag about how good I was."

"Yeah, he was quite close to us, Padmé and I."

"Wait, Senator Amidala?"

"Yep, that's my sister." You smiled.

He became silent after that and though you didn't know him, you could tell he was confused.

"Sorry about all that, let's start over. My name is (Y/n), what's yours?" You inquired.

"Rex, former Captain." He replied.

"Nice to meet you."

You stuck out a hand and he grabbed it, giving a firm shake. You both smiled as you continued to talk about your past lives.

He finds out about your mark:

After your first interaction with Rex, he came to the bar quite often. You smiled this because he told you that he didn't get out much after Order 66. He told you all about it, all the death and destruction he experienced and felt bad for him. You knew what it's like to lose someone but not when there are so many of them. He lost hundreds of brothers and you always did your best to comfort him. Your thoughts stopped when you saw Rex walking through the entrance of the bar.

"Hey, how's my favorite bartender doing today?" He asked as he approached you.

"I'm the only bartender here, silly!" You exclaimed, slightly blushing.

"Oh, I know."

"Anyways, I'm doing fine, how are you?"

"I'm fine as well, thank you."

You smiled and placed a cup of water in front of him as he sat down. He gladly accepted it and took a small sip before turning his attention to you.

"Are you okay? You look tired." He said, concerned.

"Yeah, I'm.." You yawned. "I'm fine, don't worry."

"That yawn said otherwise."

You sighed. "It was a nightmare."

He became more concerned and gently grasped your hand. You blushed a little and looked at him with tired eyes. He stood up and helped lead you around the counter into his arms. You immediately relaxed into his embrace and let out a content sigh.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked softly.

You shook your head as you buried yourself against him more. He didn't ask again and continued to hold you. You two stayed like that for a bit before you finally pulled away.

"Th... Thanks." You said and looked up at him, yawning.

"Anything for you." He said, smiling.

You smiled back and looked down, fiddling with your hands. His eyes landed on your neck and saw two small markings. Curious, he asked what it was.

"What's that?" He pointed at your neck.

"Hm?" You hummed and looked at the place he pointed at.

You saw that Rex was pointing at two blue markings, which was your soulmate mark.

"Oh, um, it's my, uh, soulmate mark." You said with sudden nervousness.

"May I see it? If you're comfortable with it that is." He said.

You nodded your head and slightly pulled the collar down a bit, not showing much skin. He observed the mark intently before looking back at you.

"That matches the symbol on my helmet." He spoke with shock.

"Yeah, I noticed it the first time we met but didn't say anything because I thought it would drive you away." You said without taking a breath, looking down again.

He gently grabbed your chin and lifted your face to look at him.

"If anything, I think it's nice that you have a soulmate. The fact that it's me is a lucky chance." He said smiling.

"I feared rejection if I told you sooner." You said.

"Oh, I could never deny someone that is so beautiful."

"Well, I'm glad you know now."

He hummed in response, acknowledging your statement. You wrapped your arms around him and smiled, happy that he knows.

He asks you out:

You waited for Rex on your typically boring shift. It was a long day of giving people drinks and dealing with the flirty drunks. Thankfully, it wasn't often but it was still much to bother the hell out of you. You wiped down the counter after the last customer left the bar. Rex usually came in around 1800 and right now it was 17:53. You wanted to ask him something when he got there. You finished wiping down the counter as a drunk came up to you.

"Hey, pretty, I can make your night better if you come with me." He attempted.

"No thanks, my night is going well." You said, denying him.

He went to grab your hand but you were quicker and quickly pulled it away. You sighed as the man didn't leave and you were getting tired of these kind of people.

"The longer you stay, the more I charge you, now get lost." You said sternly, slightly irritated.

"Not until you accept my offer." The man winked.

"I wasn't kidding. Either leave or turn over your credits."

"Come home with me and I will."

"Money will not make me go home with you, not even if you had hundreds of credits."

"That's smart thinking." A voice interrupted.

You turned towards the entrance of the bar and saw Rex standing there with his arms crossed. You smiled as he walked over to you.

"Hey, how are you, cate?" You asked.

"I'm fine, how are you, mesh'la?" He replied.

"I'm doing well, better now that you're here."

The stranger looked shocked at the conversation between you two. Without another word, he left and didn't look back.

"Always speak a different language, that drives them off." Rex stated.

"I'll keep that in mind." You said.

"So you know Mando'a?"

"Yes and fluently, might I add."

"Alright, I want to ask you something."

"Ask away."

"Malyasa'yr gar slanar bat a daya ti ni?"

You smiled after he asked his question.

"Ni ganar kar'taylir darasuum at."

Your first kiss:

You bid a farewell to Cid before you walked out and she closed the bar. Thankful you had the next day off, you made your way to your apartment to get some well deserved rest. You kept your pace as the building came into view. You walked in and saw that no one was there. You were grateful that you managed to find an apartment on the first floor because you weren't taking the chance of using the creepy stairs. As you stopped at your door, you dug in your pocket and felt the item you needed. You pulled out the key and put in the handle, twisting it to unlock the door. Opening your door, you took out the key and closed the door behind you. You placed your bag and name tag on the counter and went to your room, yawning. As soon as you got there, you hastily changed into pajamas and laid in bed. You covered yourself with the blanket and let your eyes slip close, seeing darkness.

<The next morning>

You slowly opened your eyes and saw the bright sunlight seeping through the window. You sat up and stretched, hearing a satisfying pop. You got up put of bed and went towards your closet. For some reason, you had a feeling that today was going to be a good day. Looking through your outfit options, you decided on a casual and simple one.

You took off your sleepwear and put on the selected outfit. You placed the pj's in your hamper before putting on comfortable shoes. You walked out and down the hallway towards the door. You grabbed your bag and walked out, locking the door in the process. You quickly made your way out of the building and down the street towards the town square. For it being the weekend, today was quite busy. You made your way through the crowd and stopped at a booth that was selling different kinds of fruit. You picked one up and observed it to make sure it wasn't rotten. Then you picked up two more of the same fruit and paid the vendor before walking away. Spotting another booth, you started to walk to it until a hand was placed over your eyes. You almost freaked out but the person spoke.

"Guess who?" He asked.

You smiled, knowing who it is.

"Is it Rex?" You answered.

The hand uncovered your eyes and you turned around seeing that it was, in fact, Rex.

"Hey, I missed you!" You exclaimed and hugged him.

"It's only been a day." He said and hugged back.

"I know."

"Anyways, I got you something."

He pulled away and brought his other hand in front of him, revealing a bouquet of (favorite flower). You gasped in shock and accepted the flowers, looking at him.

"How did you know these are my favorite?" You asked.

"Eh, lucky guess." He said shrugging his shoulders.

"I didn't get you anything, if I knew this was going to happen, I would've gotten you something."

"No, you don't need to get me anything. You're the best gift I could ask for."

He opened his arms and you gladly accepted them as another hug happened, careful about the flowers. You pulled back slightly and looked up into his eyes. He stared into yours lovingly and slowly leaned forward. You took the hint and leaned forward yourself. Soon, the gap between you was closed as he pressed his lips to yours. The kiss was short and sweet but you enjoyed it. You both pulled away and stared into each other's eyes once more. You leaned your head against his chest and sighed in content. No words were spoken or needed to stop this wonderful moment.

Your soulmate song:

Cody Simpson - La Da Dee

A song about how he can't get you out of his head. He was only at the bar to relieve stress but instead ended up having a conversation with you. When he left the bar, you were the only thing on his mind. No matter how hard he tried to distract himself, his mind always wandered back to you. He came back the next day only to discover that you two were soulmates. He became so happy and it's been awhile since he's been that way. That following weekend, he surprised you with your favorite flowers. Then you two shared your first kiss and he grew more happy than before. From that moment forward, he always came back to the bar to see you.
