How you got your soulmate mark:

You were currently eating lunch in the break room at your job. You are a medic for the newly formed Empire and you were told you would be the personal medic of a captain. Which captain, you have yet to know. You were about halfway done with your sandwich when you felt something slide down your shoulder. To you, it felt like someone just stroked a single line of paint on your skin. You paid no mind but you knew you need to check it out later. Soon, you finished eating and threw away your trash before walking out of the break room. No one else was in the corridor with you, so you decided to see what was on your arm. You pulled up the sleeve and saw a teal colored stripe that ran down from your shoulder to your elbow. You thought it was weird that your mark would be a stripe of all things but you accepted it, nonetheless.

How you met:

You finished wrapping gauze around a soldier's arm where he got shot. You set the roll down as you sent him a smile.

"Thank you, doc." said the soldier

"Just doing my job." You said.

You turned away and went to help another injured soldier. Just before you picked up a pair of tweezers, Grand Moff Tarkin walked in and everyone stood at attention, including you. He eyed everyone before standing straight and cleared his throat.

"As you may know, some of you have been selected to be the personal medic of certain high ranking individuals." He continued, "For those of you chosen, please follow me."

You and a few others stepped forward and followed the high ranking official out of the medbay. You were behind the group but still stayed close to not to get lost. Tarkin stopped in front of a door and raised his hand, signalling you to stop. The assigning has started.

<Later>

You were the last one yet to be assigned and you were growing nervous. Soon enough, Tarkin stopped at a door that belonged to a captain since you were told you'd be assigned to one. He knocked once and a faint 'come in' was heard on the other side. The door opened and he walked in with you following behind.

"Captain Howzer, this is Dr. (L/n), your personal medic." Tarkin said.

He stepped aside to reveal you standing with your arms behind your back. You looked at the captain you'd be taking care of and saw that he is quite handsome. You quickly averted your eyes and blushed as you bit your bottom lip. You didn't notice, but the soldier in front of you also blushed at the sight of you.

"I'll leave you two to get acquainted with one another." Tarkin announced before he left.

The door closed after he left and you released a breath you didn't know you were holding. Captain Howzer cleared his throat to gain your attention and you looked at him, blushing more.

"My name is, uh, Dr. (L/n), but you can call me (Y/n) if you want." You greeted a bit nervous.

"Well, (Y/n), you can just call me Howzer." He greeted back.

"I think it'll be nice working with you."

"I hope it is."

You exchanged smiles and you casted your head down.

He finds out about your mark:

You set down the medical bag that contained all of your tools and started to organize them on the tray in front of you. Howzer was in the other room filing some reports of stuff you didn't know. You itched the spot where your mark was for the third time in the past twenty minutes. You don't know why it was itching this bad, but it was starting to bother you. A knock on the door broke your concentration and you looked over to see Howzer leaning in the doorway.

"Would you like to join me for lunch?" He asked.

"Sure, let me finish up a few things first." You replied.

He nodded his head and walked away to wait for you. You placed the last of your tools and set your bag in one of the cabinets before walking out. Just as you walked out, you itched your arm again and he raised a brow.

"Is your arm okay?" He asked, slightly concerned.

"What?" You said, confused.

"Your arm, you keep scratching it."

"Oh, it's just that my soulmate mark keeps itching for some reason."

"You have a soulmate mark?"

"Yeah, it's only a teal stripe."

You looked down away from his gaze and stared at his armor. You noticed that the stripe on his chest piece is the exact same color as your mark.

"It matches the stripe you have on your armor." You said timidly.

He looked at you with a surprised look on his face. You were hesitant but you gained the courage to show him what you meant. You lifted your sleeve up so he could see the exact same stripe on your arm. He lifted his hand and gently stroked your mark as you blushed slightly. He stopped when he thought you were getting uncomfortable and pulled back. You let your sleeve fall down to cover your arm again.

"Would that make us soulmates?" He asked.

"Yeah, it would." You answered.

"When I heard you say you got your mark, I was kind of hoping we were soulmates."

"You did?"

"Yeah, now that I know I don't have to be nervous to compliment you."

"Well, then I'm glad we're soulmates."

"Me too."

You smiled at each other and walked out as you both held hands.

He asks you out:

You and Howzer were currently eating lunch in the cafeteria that was on the ship. You thought back to one of your favorite memories and decided to him what happened.

"Did you know that I used to be a medic for the 104th Battalion before all this happened?" You asked.

"Really?" He asked, intrigued.

"They were rude to me at first, then I said something that made them scared of me."

"What did you say?"

"I threatened to make their pain worse when they were injured."

"Geez, I probably would've resigned from that squad."

"Even the stone-cold Commander Wolffe was scared of me, he was just better at hiding it."

"Remind me to not be rude to you."

"You should be fine, I would never have the audacity to hurt my soulmate."

After that statement, you subtly moved your hand under the table to intertwine your fingers with his. He gladly accepted it and smiled at you lovingly as he gently stroked his thumb over your knuckles.

"I wish we didn't have to hide this." You spoke.

"I know, but they will know in time." Howzer reassured.

You smiled at his response and continued talking about random things during the rest of the lunch period.

<After lunch>

You two walked down the corridor back towards his office enjoying each other's silence. You smiled when you thought that you got lucky when you got assigned to your soulmate. You were brought out of your thoughts when Howzer suddenly stopped.

"Hey, you okay there?" You asked.

"Uh, I actually have something to ask you." He responded.

"Oh, go ahead then."

"I know that we're soulmates and all, but do you want to go out with me?"

"Yeah, I'd like that."

You looked up and gave him a smile as he sighed softly.

Your first kiss:

You were currently organizing your tools in the small medbay located in Howzer's office. You put each tool in their respective spot and you heard the door open. You walked out to see Howzer and another medic arguing.

"Sir, your injuries need to be checked before you do anything!" the medic said.

"I have a personal medic to do that, I didn't receive one for nothing!" He argued.

"I understand that, sir, but you're losing blood!"

"What seems to be the problem?" You asked, interrupting them.

They stopped arguing and turned to you when you spoke up.

"He's right, you know. I wasn't assigned to him for nothing." You said calmly.

"See? She agrees." Howzer said, less angry.

"Alright, fine. I'll leave you to do your job, ma'am." said the other medic, slightly upset.

They left and he looked at you with a thankful expression. You nodded your head and you helped him into the small medbay. He sat down as you went to put on medical gloves.

"What risk did you take to receive such an injury?" You asked, picking up a small towel.

"It was a blaster shot, it would've killed me if I didn't move in time." He explained.

"Well, it's a good thing you moved then. This is going to hurt a bit."

After you said that, you gently dabbed the now damp towel on his wound. He slightly hissed in pain but let you continue. Soon enough, the bleeding stopped and set down the bloody towel to bandage the wound. You grabbed a bacta patch and applied it to the wound.

"Don't move around too much and you'll be fine." You said and stepped back.

"Thank you, (Y/n)." He said.

You smiled at him as he stood up and approached you. He took your hand and gave it a gentle kiss. If possible, your smile grew wider at this little action. Then, he used is free hand caress your cheek lovingly. You leaned into his comforting touch and sighed in relief, closing your eyes. You opened your eyes not long after and saw that Howzer was eyeing your lips. You knew what he wanted and you wanted it too. You both leaned in and closed the gap between you two. A wave of bliss rippled through you as he held you protectively. After about a minute, you two pulled away and looked into each other's eyes, breathing lightly. He leaned his forehead against yours and you did the same, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"I've been waiting to do that for a while." He said with a smile.

"Me too." You said, also smiling.

You stayed in each other's embrace for the next few hours, not giving a care to the galaxy.
