Week 7

~_~_~ (Abby) ~_~_~

Abby is so excited to meet Niall's loved ones. Out of the four, Abby figures she's most excited to meet Niall's mom. She sucks in one deep breath before entering the room with Niall's mother in it.

"Abby Rose! It's so nice to meet you," His mother cheers. Abby smiles and is brought into a hug by Niall's mother. Her flowery perfume, one that reminds Abby so vividly of her own mother, wafts over her. She can't believe she's actually meeting Niall's mom.

"You look absolutely gorgeous," She compliments. Abby blushes at the older woman's words. They each take their respected seat at the table across from each other.

Niall told the three of them beforehand that the process would be a little bit like an interview. That his mom would be in one room and his three bandmates another. Each person would get to ask Abby two questions and Abby would get to ask them one.

"You nervous," Niall's mother asks.

"Only a little. Mostly excited if I'm honest. I can't believe I'm actually sitting across from the woman who raised such an amazing man. I'm honored, Ms. Horan," Abby explains. Niall's mother shrugs her off.

"Maura will do just fine, Deary," She explains. "Well, must get on with the questions, eh? Alright. What is your favorite thing about my son?"

"My favorite thing about Niall is how kind he is. He sees the world with a different lens, always thinking the best of people no matter what. Looking into his eyes, you can see his amazing positivity and pure kindness," Abby explains. The question was a no brainer for her.

"How did you raise such an amazing man who genuinely care about women and knows how to treat them well," Abby asks. Maura thinks for a second before responding.

"I can't take all the credit for that. Sure, I taught him right from wrong as a child, but he had to know the difference for it to stick." Abby nods and Maura moves on to the next question.

"Where do you see your life and career in ten years?" Abby thinks for a moment, planning her words carefully. She doesn't want to seem any sort of way for Maura.

"In ten years I see myself married with older kids taking family vacations and enjoying everyday of my life. I understand that Niall's busy schedule can change plans dramatically, so I try not to create too clear of a picture of my future, because I know it can always change. For my career, I see myself taking time off to watch my kids grow up," Abby answers. Maura doesn't seem to pleased with her answer, which worries Abby a little bit. Maura thanks her and Abby leaves.

-

Abby forces herself to take in a couple of breaths and rub her sweaty palms up the length of her jeans as to calm herself down. On the other side of that door is a majority of the band One Direction. Of course, Zayn wouldn't be present, but Niall explained that it was only because his schedule was busy and not because they weren't friends. Abby shakes out her shoulders before opening the door.

The three boys sit in a line across the table. Harry and Liam both wear large smiles and look casual across the table (but of course, what's casual about a full Gucci suit?). Louis, on the other hand, leans back in his chair with a hard scowl across his lips. Abby is worried for a second, than guesses that Louis' putting up a comedic front since this is supposed to be a mild interview.

"State your name, please," Louis says. His voice is loud and echoes in the room. Harry shoots a glare at him from down the table.

"Don't mind him, he's just being stupid. You're Abby," Liam asks. Abby gives a curt nod before taking the seat across from him. Harry offers her a kind smile before they start the questions.

Harry clears his throat and starts, "Say that Niall is on tour. A photo of him kissing a girl surfaces the internet. How would you react?" Abby has to think about the question for a moment, not quite sure how to answer it.

"If I saw a photo of Niall kissing another girl on tour, I would call him up and ask him if it was true first off since fans tend to photoshop picture. If he said it really did happen, I would ask why. Unless he was truly cheating on me and actually had feelings for the girl he kissed, and she wasn't just a fan that turned her head when he went to kiss his cheek, then I would not be mad and would forgive him. After that, we would work together to get the picture taken care of," Abby explains. She sighs deeply as she turns to Louis.

"Are you prepared to move to California for the sake of Niall's work and are you prepared for a long-distance relationship?"

"I am completely prepared to move to stay with Niall for his work. I believe home, truly, is where the heart is, and I would follow Niall anywhere on Earth to stay with him. As for the long distance relationship, while it would be very hard to be apart from someone I love, I would be completely committed to doing my best at keeping us connected. I would absolutely be ready for that type of relationship. I already have ideas as to what kinds of things we could do so far apart," As Abby explains her answer, she sees mixed signals across the boy's face. Harry nods understandingly, while Liam seems to be a little bit more skeptic of her answer.

"Do you want children? If so, what route would you go to have them and are there any family traditions you want to uphold," Liam asks.

"I can see so many children in my future. I want as many as possible with our busy schedules, and in whatever way possible. If Niall wants to adopt or natural, I would be more than happy. All I want are happy faces and tiny hearts to love. There are a few family traditions I love. Mainly, I'd like to create new ones with my new family in the future. Firstly, I'd love to carry our tradition of spending holidays together, and staying off our phones as much as possible when we're together. I do understand that Niall may need his phone for business, but besides that, enjoying our time together while we can. " Harry almost coos at her answer.

"Harry, you're a natural jokester, and this career can be pretty heavy on your mental health. What is one joke that always makes Niall crack a smile," Abby asks. Harry thinks for a moment.

"Actually, most of Niall's favorite jokes are dad puns I make. So, there aren't really any set ones that I have. Mostly spur of the moment jokes, you know," Harry explains. Abby nods, noting the information for future use.

Abby turns to Liam, "You always take care of Niall. What are the three major things he always forgets when you're with him?"

"Tough one. His phone for sure. He'll have it in his hand one minute and the next he's having all of us call him to try and figure out where he put it down at. He loses both his maturity and his patience quiet easily too. Whenever I'm with him he automatically becomes a six-year-old. Don't even get me started on the queues we've had to be in and the amount of complaining he does."

"What's the best memory you have with Niall," Abby asks Louis. Immediately, Louis loses his tough guy edge and leans towards her.

"Easy. This one time we were on tour and you know how tour is. Not a lot of things to do on the road, so Niall and I have gone into this sick game of truth or dare," Louis starts. Both Harry and Liam seem to know where this story is going and start cracking smiles as Louis continues. "So, I'm running out of things to dare Niall to do, right? That's when I see this bag of American crisps. I think they're called... Cheetos? The little orange long things? Anyway, so I dare him to stick ten up his nose total. So, he does it. He starts sticking them in his nose and he's got about three in each nostril when Harry comes out from the bathroom and notices what's going on. So, Harry makes this face and Niall bursts out laughing. He laughs so hard that all six of the Cheetos go shooting out of his nose and fly across the tour bus. Little did he know, they were the hot Cheetos, so he spent the rest of the day with a stuffy nose. It was hilarious," Louis explains. Abby can totally see the story in her head and laughs along with the rest of the boys.

"Last question," Harry starts. "What kind of hobbies do you have?"

"I love animals and kids. I have a heart for caring for people and animals. I love to watch kids and their brains work, and I love seeing the happiness in animals' eyes when they are well taken care of."

The three boys nod and send Abby on her way.

~_~_~ (Pim) ~_~_~

Pim is gutted by how low he placed in the ceremony, but he shakes it off. He knows he'll have to step up his game and promises himself to act more like him.

When he steps into the room with Niall's mum, Pim automatically grows excited. Out of the four people Pim will be meeting, he's most excited to meet Niall's mum. The woman leaps up from her seat and brings Pim into a bone crushing hug and a kiss to both cheeks.

"Pim is it? Lovely to meet you. I'm Maura," His mother introduces. Maura pulls away and looks over Pim's frame. Her hands grasp Pim's shoulders and give them a little shake. "Mighty big fella you are, eh," She cheers. A smile tugs itself across Pim's lips as he makes the connection between Niall and his mother's greeting to him, like mother like son.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Horan," Pim says politely. Maura waves him off while extending an arm to the seat across from her. Pim takes it and smiles as Maura also takes a seat.

"Maura is fine, Deary. Ms. Horan makes me feel like an old librarian and nobody wants to feel like an old librarian. Honestly, it's a pleasure to meet you Pim. I have to say, out of everyone I've been rooting for you since day one," Maura whispers. Pim blushes, not quite sure how to take what she says. He's happy, nonetheless, that he obviously has Niall's mother's approval.

"Let's get started, eh? So, what's your favorite thing about my son?"

"On the outside, it has to be his eyes or his smile. On the inside, it's his ability to hold a conversation. Being able to hold a conversation super easily is something that really matters to me and he, also, makes you feel better in an instant," Pim beams. His mother seems pleased with his answer, so he turns it to her.

"It must be really hard to not have such an amazing son at home all the time, how do you handle the fact that Niall is away this much?"

Maura's face hardens and she lets out a sigh before continuing, "It is hard. I just remind myself that he's out there living his dream and doing what he does best. We make things work with our phone calls and such, so it's not like we don't ever talk," She explains. Pim nods as Maura goes onto her next question.

"Where do you see your life and career in ten years?"

"I hope even though it sounds way too sappy, with Niall. I hope I can finish school andt hat I will be working at a primary school in ten years. Hopefully in ten years I'll be married or at least engaged, hopefully to Niall, and thinking about kids," Pim explains. Maura smiles kindly at him.

"It was lovely to meet you Pim. I do I hope I get to talk to you again," Maura says kindly. She stands and walks him to the door, pressing one last motherly kiss to his cheek before allowing him to leave.

-

Pim sucks in a deep breath as he enters the room with Niall's three bandmates. Of course, he was most excited to meet Niall's mum, but these people are just as important as Niall's mum.

"I'm Pim, it's a pleasure to meet you," Pim introduces. The three boys smile. Louis plays a tough exterior while Liam and Harry give him kind smiles.

"Let's jump right in! First question, do you want children and, if so, in what ways? Are you prepared for a long distance relationship," Liam asks. Pim doesn't have to think before explaining his answers.

"Yeah, I really do want children. I know it will be harder to get them, but I really love them and I know Niall would be a great dad. For me, it doesn't matter how we would get kids, because it doesn't matter if it's your blood or not, it's still your kid and nothing can change that. For a long distance relationship, I don't think anyone can be fully prepared for that, but I'd be willing to try and make sure the relationship works for Niall," Pim says. The three of them give him understanding nods while Harry jots something down on a sheet of paper.

"Do you have any hobbies," Harry questions.

"I like to play footie, I think I'm quite good too, so yeah. I also like reading, playing guitar, and I sometimes like to sing, I'm not good at singing though," Pim laughs. The three boys all crack smiles as Louis starts his question.

"Are you willing to move to California?"

"I think I would, yeah, he's a fucking amazing person and anyone would be stupid to put a relationship with him at stake for such a thing. But, I do think I would miss my mum a lot, and that if Niall would be on tour or so I would go back to England to visit her."

"Harry, if you had to describe Niall in one to three words, how would you describe him?" Harry seems deep in thought for a moment and counts words on his fingers before answering.

"Really fucking Irish," Harry laughs. Louis and Liam bust out laughing, while Pim lets a laugh escape as well. It's a fair statement, Niall is really Irish.

"How would you react to a picture surfacing of Niall kissing a girl," Harry asks back. Pim thinks on it for a moment. Honestly, he's never thought about something like that before. It's never been a problem in the past so there's really no reason for him to have to think about it.

"I wouldn't be happy, I admit that, but I wouldn't just jump to a conclusion. I would call him and if he wouldn't answer I would call one of you, I think." Harry gives him an understand nod as they continue on to the next question.

Pim turns to Louis, already seeing the tough guy act starting to face. "You and Niall always have a lot of fun, what's the one thing that will make Niall always laugh?" Louis thinks about it for a moment, clearly trying to come up with a good answer.

"He's the most immature person I've ever met besides myself, so I'd say any solid fart joke or sex joke will make him laugh for sure." Harry rolls his eyes as if he knows from first hand experience the immature Niall carries with him.

"Do you have any family traditions you like to follow?"

"If Niall and I would have kids, I would want them to speak Dutch because I am half Dutch. I also want to celebrate Sinterklaas, which is kind of like Santa Claus. I know we would live in the US, but we could find a Dutch community to celebrate it with. I also really want to celebrate Christmas with my mum and, of course, Niall's family as well."

"You've always protected the other members of One Direction, so how do you feel about Niall going into a relationship," Pim questions to Liam. Unlike the other two's answers, Liam doesn't have to think long before responding.

"Honestly, it's about time. I think dating is good for him. He spent so many years being single that he needs to date around especially since everyone else in his friend group is starting to have serious relationships."

~_~_~ (Megan) ~_~_~

Honestly, Megan still can't believe she's in the competition. It feels like forever ago that they all came here for the first time. She hated seeing Lani go and can't imagine having to say goodbye to Pim or Abby or herself, for that matter.

Out of the four, Megan doesn't really know who she's looking forward to meeting more. Out of all of them, however, Megan does know that meeting his mother will be the most nerve-wracking person she's going to have to meet.

Megan walks into the room with Niall's mum and is immediately brought into a hug. "Megan! Lovely to meet you, Deary. Call me Maura," She introduces. Megan offers her a warm smile and hugs the woman back.

"So, let's get started. What is your favorite thing about Niall?"

"I love everything about him, but my favorite? It's got to be how easy he can understand me, and how he can easily make me laugh when I'm down. His sense of humor never fails to entertain," Megan answers. Maura gives her a kind smile and gestures for Megan to ask her question.

"Your boy has grown up into a fine, caring young man who is always there for those that need him. My question to you is, what are you most proud of him for," Megan questions. Maura thinks about this for a moment visually before slowly coming to an answer.

"Well, that's a huge question to ask. I don't know if I can pin point on thing that I'm the most proud of him for. I don't really care about the awards, if I'm honest. I mean, they are crazy that my wee boy gets so many fancy awards, but I think it's something a lot bigger than that. I think... if I had to pick... that I'm most proud of him for staying who he is. It's so easy for celebrities, as much as I hate using that word, lost themselves in their fight to fame, but Niall has stayed grounded," Maura says. The woman's love for her son shines through her words and it touches Megan. She can't believe she has the opportunity to sit down in front of Niall's mom and hear how much she loves him.

"Where do you see your life and career in ten years?"

"I can see Niall and I living happily. In terms of career, I'd stay within the city or district of wherever we'd live and teach within the local school." Megan confirms her answer with a small nod.

"That's all I've got. It was a pleasure chatting with you," Maura says. Megan thanks her and lets herself out.

-

As a fan of One Direction, Megan can feel the butterflies in her stomach as she enters the room with three out of the five bandmates. Liam cracks a smile at her as she sits down.

"Megan, nice to meet you," Liam says.

"I'm sure you know who we are already," Louis says cockily. She can tell it's faux, so she's not bothered by his wording all that much. It's not like it's not true either, Megan does know who they all are.

"Don't mind Louis, he's taking his job as interviewer a little too seriously. First question, are you prepared to move to California for the sake of Niall's work," Liam asks.

"I would move anywhere as long as we are both happy," Megan answers simply. It makes sense in her head. Megan could make anywhere home as long as everyone was happy. The house doesn't make the home, the people do.

"Are you prepared for a long distance relationship and are you interested in having children? If you do want children, have you considered how you might want to have them," Harry questions. His voice is careful as if he's picking all of his words carefully. Megan assumes that the music industry does that to a person.

"Having a long distance relationship would be difficult, but if both parties are in the relationship one hundred percent, I would not doubt for a second, and be willing to give it my all. Of course I'd want children. Now, whether it comes naturally or not, like that of adopting a child in need of caring, loving home, or through a surrogate, doesn't really matter to me. In the end, as long as the child grow up with two parents is all I really want," Megan answers. Harry writes something down and motions for Megan to ask a question.

"Louis, I've heard that you are the one that the others go to vent to, and it's nice to know that you're such a good listener to everyone around you. So my question is: what is one piece of advice that you've had to give Niall during any time in need?" Louis thinks for a moment before answering.

"Interesting question. I was the one that pushed him to do this, so I guess it's been my latest advice. He gets so wound up worrying about finding someone to be with that he misses opportunities. I think that he spent more time worrying about whether he'd actually find someone he'd want to be with for awhile for so long that he almost missed the deadline for turning in his paperwork to be on the show," Louis answers. Niall can see the genuine tone in his voice and knows that he's turned off the interviewer edge. As soon as he finishes, however, it's back on again.

"Say a photo of Niall kissing another girl surfaces, how would you react?"

"I would try not to let it bother me, because I wouldn't have a right to judge or assume anything if I don't know the full story," Megan explains. A small frown plays on Liam's lips, but Megan pushes it from her thoughts, determined not to let the small frown ruin the rest of their time.

"Liam, having been labeled as the responsible one for years, I'd like to know, what is one irresponsible thing that both you and Niall have participated in?" The frown disappears and Liam pulls a devious smile on his face as he explains.

"One thing? Niall and I have gotten into so much trouble it's hard to keep track of. My favorite thing was probably when Niall and I sneaked out after a concert and got wasted. I mean... we were probably smashed and I went in to get a tattoo on my ass. Niall talked this big talk about getting a sleeve and then started balling his eyes out as soon as he saw the needle." The four of them have a good laugh, before settling down.

"Do you have any hobbies," Harry questions.

"I absolutely love reading and drawing. Besides those, you can often find me outside. I've hiked trails, biked to the town, and even to just enjoy nature," Megan explains. Harry grins at Megan while Louis makes a disgusted face.

"You've all been in a competition before, when you first tried out for the X-Factor all those years ago. I'd like to know how each of you connected so well together? So, what was your first impression of Niall and how has it changed over the years," Megan questions.

"My initial reaction to him was that he had the worst box-dyed hair I've ever seen. After I got over that, I thought he seemed to be a really cool dude. Of course, I was hell bent that we wouldn't stay a band, so I tried not to get too attached. Over the years, I realized that Niall was a great friend and an amazing musician that I'm honored I got to sing with."

"Last question, do you have any family traditions?"

"Spending time with family is a big deal to me. I'm hoping that in the future, my partner would be willing to spend family dinners together during big holidays, and if it were just us at the house to eat at the dinner table and talk about our days," Megan answers. The three boys give her a smile and thank her for her time as Megan gets up and leaves.
