Abby hasn't slept worse. She was up all night tossing and turning in her sleep because of the new bed. Since she can remember she's had issues sleeping in a new bed and hotels are always hell for her.

So, Abby spent most of the night reading. She brought an array of books to read while on the show, certain that between all the dates and socializing she should have some time to finish them.

The kitchen doesn't open until 6 AM, but Abby finds herself slowly creeping out of her shared room with Pim, a boy she allied herself with the following night, to the kitchen a little before 6. She walks down the silent hallway with her book in her hands, still in her pajamas. Of course, Abby would consider herself a pro at walking and reading, but her luck fails her as she finds herself colliding with another force.

"Shit," She yelps as she drops her book.

"Oh, shit, wasn't watching my way. So sorry," The man apologizes. Abby freezes as she looks up to the person she bumped into. Niall Horan smiles back at her. She hastily takes back her book and throws him a small smile.

"Sorry, I probably shouldn't be walking and reading, but I figured nobody else would be up this early," She jokes. Niall shrugs.

"I had an early workout or else I wouldn't be up either. Abby, right? Where are you off to this early," Niall asks. She points down the hall to the kitchen and he gives her an understanding nod.

"Right, well, guess I'd better get dressed before anyone else sees me, huh," Niall laughs. Abby smiles as they part ways.

~_~_~ (Ambrose) ~_~_~

After breakfast, Ambrose finds himself stuffed between Lia and Kamille on a couch. They're talking loudly about books they've read and which ones are best. Ambrose makes mental notes of which books they like to add to the bookstore.

Besides keeping the list in his head, he finds that his mind wanders to a place of anxiety. Will he be at a disadvantage because he's one of two guys? Ambrose's roommate, Lia, assured him that there was nothing to worry about. Being one of the only guys means that he would stand out. Lia, however, had a harder chance against standing out with there being a large group of girls. Ambrose had to admit that the logic made sense in some strange way.

However, he's sure he'll stay past tomorrow's rose ceremony. There's only a one in ten chance of going home. He figures that he has a pretty good chance of staying. "How's everything going over here," Niall asks. The conversation stops as the star joins their small group.

"We're all going great," Lia answers with a smile. Niall's eyes flutter across the group and land on Ambrose's. For a second, Ambrose is sure that Niall threw him a wink.

~_~_~ (Kamille) ~_~_~

Kamille notices Niall's gaze on Ambrose last a moment longer than his look at the others. She tries not to feel jealous, but she can't help it. Ambrose is one of the sweetest guys she's ever met, so she tries to stop the feeling. She just wants Niall to notice her.

She thought she had a good chance of being noticed because of Niall remembering her photo out of the line-up. Now that she thinks about it though, there could be a number of reasons why Niall could've remember her. She sighs loudly and watches as Niall floats away from their group and to another.

Kamille is barely listening, but perks up at the sound of Lia's voice.

"M'sorry, what'd you say," Kamille questions. She can feel her cheeks going pink with embarrassment.

"What were you saying, before Niall came over," Lia asks. Oh right. This is going to be a long couple of weeks.

~_~_~ (Ashley) ~_~_~

Ashely's eyes flutter across the room as she tries to to find someone to sit with. She made the horrid mistake of sleeping in late. She knew, when she noticed the time, that she was utterly screwed at making a good first impression.

Everyone seems to be grouped up and in deep conversations. She doesn't want to interrupt anyone. She finds her own roommate, Kamille, in a conversation with Ambrose and Lia. She looks elsewhere and finds Samantha, Megan, and Romy talking.

She goes with her gut and walks over to their group.

~_~_~ (Samantha) ~_~_~

Samantha stops talking when Ashley approaches. Right. Samantha remembers her from last night, she seemed nice enough.

"How's everyone's morning been," Ashley asks. Romy gives her a weak smile, but Megan scoots over on the sofa and offers Ashley a seat.

"We've been good, I think. Samantha was about to tell us something. Samantha," Megan says. Right. Samantha clears her throat and continues where she left off.

"I was just saying that I think it's a little strange that there are guys here. I mean... does Niall actually swing both ways or are they here for 'diversity'? Are they actually going to get a shot with Niall?" Samantha wonders. She was shocked when she walked into the room last night and found a guy sitting among them, even more when another guy followed her in.

"I don't think it matters much. Either way, they deserve a chance. There's a lot to Niall that none of us know," Megan explains. Samantha shrugs.

~_~_~ (Pim) ~_~_~

Pim, Abby, and Lani are sitting together in the common lounge. Abby is talking excitedly about dolphins and surfing. Most of it goes over Pim's head, but he tries is best to stay on topic.

A set of hands grasp Pim's shoulders and he tenses up. Abby's words fade off and everything goes silent. "Don't stop talking, just came over to chat," Niall says. A hundred butterflies flutter in Pim's stomach as he realizes that the hand's now lightly massaging his shoulders belong to Niall.

"It's fine, I was telling these two about this wave I surfed one time," Abby explains. Pim doesn't dare move a muscle in fear that Niall might leave. The last thing Pim wants is for Niall to leave.

"That's cool, didn't know you could surf," Niall says. Abby nods. Pim coughs and looks up at Niall. Niall smiles down at him.

"Niall, I was thinking that we should totally have a guitar session at some point. Maybe after our gym session," Pim laughs. Niall's eyes light up and he moves to face Pim better.

"For sure! I'd love that. Didn't know you could play guitar. A man of mysteries you are," Niall jokes. He waves them all goodbye after giving Pim's shoulder a final squeeze.

~_~_~ (Lia) ~_~_~

It's later in the evening and most of the other contestants have retired to their rooms. Lia, however, sits in the lounge. As soon as she saw the giant green chair she knew it would make for the perfect reading nook.

Her eyes devour the pages of her book as she reads. However, she's interrupted by the plop of someone falling into the couch in front of her. Lia looks up, shocked to see Niall sitting in front of her.

"Second girl I've found today reading. How odd," Niall jokes. Lia feels a blush creep up her cheeks and she closes her book carefully.

"What's off about reading," She questions. Niall shrugs. She gestures for her to hand the book over. She does. Niall opens the book and flips to the inside cover and coughs dramatically.

"'Jay Irwin has been obsessed with the boy band, Division, since their rise to fame on the hit television show X-Factor four years prior. His favorite member of the band being Shawn Woods, who's in the center of the biggest pop conspiracy of all time. Since day one, Jay has believed wholeheartedly that Shawn and Weston Watts (another member of the famous band) are secretly together and even has a fan account dedicated to finding more proof.

"Jay's world is turned upside down when his mother comes home with news of a new friend, who's description sounds suspiciously similar to that of Alexis Woods, Shawn's mother. Now, Jay has to navigate his way through an industry he never dreamed of navigating. Will he be able to uncover the truth of the conspiracy theory he has been theorizing about for years? Will he escape the industry without a broken heart? Or, will he discover that his idols may not be who they seem?' Hmm sounds boring," Niall jokes. He tosses the book back into Lia's lap. She glances down at the book cover and sighs.

"It's actually pretty interesting," Lia argues. She tries to hold back a smile, but fails.

"Guess I'm the boring one, huh? Doesn't matter. You keep reading that and I'm going to go to bed. See you at the rose ceremony tomorrow, Lia. Where something pretty," Niall says.

~_~_~ (Megan) ~_~_~

Megan's quietly slipping out of the bathroom when she spots Niall. She guesses he must be coming from the lounge.

"Megan, right? Best for last," Niall says. Megan nods, giving him a big smile. "What're you doing out and about," Niall questions. Megan gestures to the bathroom.

"Take your guess," She jokes. He nods understandingly.

"Should be bed getting your beauty sleep for tomorrow. Then again, guess you don't really need it huh," Niall flirts. Megan's shocked, but tries not to act surprised. She goes along with it and playfully shrugs.

"Beauty only gets you so far in a relationship. It's the heart that counts," Megan explains.

"You got me there. Hope I get to see your heart, Megan. Until then, sleep well."

~_~_~ (Lani) ~_~_~

It's past midnight and Lani's still up. She doesn't know if it's because of the new surroundings or the snoring Romy laying next to her, but she can't sleep. So, naturally, Lani decides to head to the kitchen for a late-night snack.

The kitchen doesn't close until 3 and they only close so the cooks have time to prepare breakfast for the following morning. Lani figures she has time to grab a quick bag of chips and eat a few in the lounge to waste some of her time.

When she walks into the kitchen, however, she finds the white fridge light shinning against the floor. "Hello," She whispers. She hears a loud thud and flinches as Niall sticks his head out of the fridge holding his head.

"Shit, nobody else is supposed to be up," He curses. He wears only a thin white shirt and boxers. Lani can't help but noticed the messy state of his hair and smiles. Niall Horan is utterly adorable.

"Yeah, I didn't think anyone would be up either. Just wanted to grab a bag of chips," Lani explains. Niall gives her an understanding nod.

"I wanted some crisps, but I'm trying to maintain my figure. Celery sticks for me," He sighs. He holds up the sticks pathetically. Lani sticks her nose up and moves towards the chip drawer. She goes through a few before picking out a bag of pretzels, not her favorite but they'll do for now.

"Enjoy your celery sticks, while I have some delicious pretzels," Lani teases. She takes a rather loud bite and smiles teasingly Niall's way. He gives her a look before tossing the celery sticks back in the fridge and walking over to her.

"What the heck," He sighs. He takes her bag of pretzels and steals a few before handing the bag back and getting one of his own. "Night," He calls as he floats out of the room.

Rose ceremonies will happen like this: Niall will give out his roses working from the bottom, leaving out the last person. The first person to get a rose will be the second from the bottom. The Top Two (the last two people to get roses) are his number 1/2 picks for that week. These two contestants will get to go on a date with Niall the following day. First place gets to pick the date with Niall and second place has to go on a date of Niall's choosing.
