PERSONALITY:

In two words? A. Diva. They say a diva is a female version of a hustler, and maybe that's true. But as far as Elena's concerned, it only comes with two more words, those being fierce and fabulous. She knows she embodies those two words, and she probably won't let you forget it either. Obviously, she's confident, but she can definitely become a little /over/confident when it comes to that point. She just has a high sense of self! Or, at least, /appears/ to. She's a flirty one for sure, but it's all part of her charm. It's who she is, and if you don't like it, you can leave it. She does what she wants and damns the consequences. She's bold like that, and she only really cares about the opinions of those closest to her. She's a fun one, always open to new ideas and never failing to be down for an adventure. She's the kind of girl that can take a boring date and make it exciting, the one whispering in your ear and asking if you want to get out of whatever situation you were previously situated in. That said, she doesn't like to do all the work. If something isn't reciprocated, she's out. She's done. If she loses interest, she's gone. But it isn't that hard to earn her captivation. Even the quiet and shy ones have fallen prey to her outgoing personality. As far as romance goes... Yeah, she's tried it. At the moment, she's not really about romance. It's more about enjoying herself and seeing what's out there, but actual romance? That's definitely going to take some time. That said, she could certainly be turned into a romantic if the right one can show her the way. Maybe not a full-blown one and her version would certainly include unique gifts and outings as opposed to the cliche, but she could be turned without a doubt. Elena is... not hesitant. When it comes to something she wants, she's going to go after it with everything she's got. Business-wise. When it comes to personal ventures, she's more subtle in her pursuit. She likes to keep people on their toes and surprise them, but she also likes to be surprised. She isn't someone who can simply tell someone she's in love with that she's in love with them. She will show it through little actions and hints, but she won't be straight up obvious unless she's one hundred percent positive of her feelings. When she knows, she won't be hesitant at all in her affections. She doesn't care who knows(her life is already majorly publicized anyway), so PDA doesn't bother her at all. She'll do whatever it takes to keep you. Okay, well, that isn't entirely true. It used to be, though, so maybe someday she will get back to that. She fights hard and fair, but she is also someone's terrified to actually fall in love again. She can't just openly admit her feelings because she /runs/away/from/them/. She'll hide it by flirting with /everyone/ and little jokes and digs, and it always works because those things are well within the limit of her personality. But if you want the best of her heart, good luck. It's locked up tighter than the fortress of solitude. Overall, she's a pretty helpful person. This intelligent queen refuses to be underestimated and used that to her advantage. She's stronger than you know and smarter than you believe. When she gets sad, she'll curl up with blankets, food, and movies and go to town, basically. She isn't /that/ easy to anger, but she doesn't tolerate disrespect. She can be sweet, and she can be genuine as well. She doesn't trust easily, but once she lets you in, you'll see the real her. She's deep(though most only view her on a more superficial level). If you hurt her, forgiveness is a one-time thing. She doesn't apologize. It's just something she doesn't do. Her actions are her actions, and she doesn't want any regrets. She would say she was sorry if she really meant it, but the probability of that word coming off of her lips is very slim. She's cheeky and teasing, a little sly. She always seems to be on the up and up when it comes to gossip. She's a great keeper of secrets, but a surprisingly good liar as well. She's trying to work more on her honesty throughout this, however. So yeah, Elena is a diva. But in her world, that's the best kind of person there is.

LIKES:

~ Fashion: It's her life, essentially. She's taken the world by storm with her intuitive designs, but she has never forgotten who she used to be, which was just a girl with a sewing machine, once upon a time ago.

~ Champagne: It's her favorite drink of all time, and everything that goes with it is something she appreciates. The parties, the outfits, just losing herself out on the dance floor... oh yeah, champagne has brought her nothing but luck and good times!

~ Puppies: They are her favorite thing in the entire world! She has always been in love with the beautiful creatures, and they are the one thing that can calm her or make even the worst of days feel better.

~ Originality: She likes the unique and exciting, the thoughts that have yet to be said, the songs that have yet to be heard. As fun as cliche is, she definitely appreciates what each person has to offer in their own special way. She's not really one for carbon copies.

~ Sweaters And Blankets: As boujee, as she may seem, Elena loves to curl up and be comfortable. Sometimes there are days when she just puts her hair into a messy bun, throws on her rattiest pair of sweats and watches Gossip Girl with some wine and her blanket, and to be honest, she's fine with that!

DISLIKES:

~ Limitations: She's never let someone tell her what she can and can't do. Elena plays by her own book. She doesn't follow rules, she makes them, and if it's necessary to break them, then she's down. She was taught that she could be anything, therefore she has never let someone's idea of what she should be(especially as a woman of color) stop her from achieving her dreams.

~ Underestimation: It always bothers her when people don't believe in her power when she's proven time and time again that she is so much more than just her appearance or her net worth. It irks her to her core when people underestimate her, but she never fails to surprise them.

~ The Color Brown: She will never be caught in a dress that's just 'Brown.' Now, tan and such can be considered another story, but straight up brown? She's going to have to pass on that one. She does like wearing under-appreciated colors as opposed to overused ones, but she can't do brown.

~ Sand In Her Shoes: It bothers her a lot, which is a bummer in the summer when she's sunning herself on the beach. With the shoes comes the hair, and pretty soon, she's covered in sand and it's taking many, many minutes of her precious time to get all of it off. Nevertheless, it's worth it. ~ Burning Her Tongue: It's just... really annoying! This may seem like a simple thing, but it's a major pet peeve, along with stubbing her toe. This girl loves food; she's not afraid to eat, but burning her tongue does take away from the experience a little bit.

FLAWS:
~ Opening Up: As was stated, she isn't really one for feelings. As far as romance goes, she runs away. Simple as that. It's hard for her to admit when something's bothering her straight up, but she will hint at it and everything. If asked, she will deny it directly. She can be very frustrating like that.

~ Overdramatic: If something isn't that big of a deal, it may be a huge deal to her. When she gets heated, she gets /heated/. She can be a drama queen at times, but sometimes that can be fun. She's the most extra person on the planet, but when it comes to certain stuff, she is known to overreact.

~ Shut Downs: When things become too much, she can't always handle them. She will barricade herself in a space and refuse to come out. She doesn't really feel like burdening anyone with her problems, and she wants to at least /appear/ as if she's strong, so she figures it's better to be alone. She has to be forced to open up and share, as well as get out of her self-imposed solitude.

BACKSTORY:

There were two events that marked Elena's life besides her birth(which was under a lovely October sky). The first time she saw a sewing machine, and the day her mother sang for a prominent member of society. She went on to marry that prominent member of society(a tech mogul, of all things), and they had two daughters, Elodie and Elena. She's grown up rich, and despite having a few problems along the line with that, her life has been pretty wonderful. She's been designing since she could write, and her education has been stellar since her family could quite literally afford the best. However, just because she grew up with money doesn't mean she didn't know how to work for herself. In addition to honors classes in high school, she was working through designs and perfecting her process. She first laid eyes on a sewing machine at six years old, and since that moment, it had been love at first sight. Due to her father's business trips, she's gotten to go fly all around the world and see different cultures, as well as what's considered hot clothing, hair, and makeup-wise in unique areas. Due to her worldly experience, her lines usually incorporate a little flair. She spent a year studying in Mexico, and then another in Paris before she finally settled down and moved to New York. She started out away from her parents' influence and their money. She still remembers what it was like to step out of a cab with all of her luggage into a busy crowded street before walking into a dingy apartment building with an even dingier room. She started out singing, surprisingly(she inherited the talent from her mother) mostly at nightclubs or low paying events. However, someone heard her voice and booked her for a party to celebrate the release of a new fall line. She'd been working on her lookbook and her own sets, so she decided to go to the party dressed in a look of her own creation.

Suffice it to say, she was a success and took a job interning at Scarlett Fashions, one of the most prestigious companies in the mix. It was hard and took a long time, but eventually, she saved up enough money to kickstart Mai, Mai. Ever since then, she's been heading her own company, trying to expand with the help of her parents, and just living her best life. Her happily ever after hasn't come just yet, but she's looking forward to trying for it!

THOUGHTS ON THE SHOW:

All honesty, Elena is /so/ ready to go. It's been a while since her last serious relationship, so she's ready to at least /try/ falling in love again. She's excited to meet the bachelor and hopes the best for both of them in their romantic endeavors. As for herself, she's going to see what's in store. She's prepared to fall, so bring on the potentials! Here's to hoping for true love.
