Chapter 18
Her heart couldn't stop beating too fast, Jordan was accepting, it was almost too easy and he didn't question her like she knew Cassie would. She would know something was up. Greta would never let herself get pregnant within the few months of meeting someone new and it didn't help that she knew she was head over heels with Nathan. How could she get over him fast.
She was standing outside at the door of Cassie's office, hands laying flat on the surface unable to knock. She took a deep breath in and pushed the knob down, entering before she could change her mind.
Cassie's eyes were immediately drawn to hers and then to her bump before looking away with a look of apprehension, it was clear that she knew already, Vincent had told her. Suddenly, she felt disgusted by him how dare he waltz in and disrupt the peace and quiet of her life. Within months he had exposed the wild side she'd always kept hidden and now she wouldn't be viewed the same by these people.
"Will you take a seat?" Cassie pointed at the seat next to Vincent, her supposed beloved who was grinning at her she eyed him warily.
"Your er- boyfriend told me of your condition and I'm happy for the both of you but don't you think it's too early? I mean just few months ago you were with Nathan, not that I don't accept you Mr Vincent but I just-I"
"I understand ma'am it must be hard to digest but we love each other very much so you have nothing to be worried about and while the little babe wasn't planned we are capable of caring for it." Vincent then turned to her with a lovely smile, "right Greta?"
She nodded affirmatively but inside she was boiling with anger, he was lying again with no thought for how she'd be redeemed when the contract was over. What excuse would she give her family for breaking up immediately after having a child with him, wouldn't that seem suspicious?
"It's okay then, I hope you have successful lives together so err are you getting married before or after the babe is born? It'd be better to do it before since her stomach isn't that huge yet but of course it's your decision,"
"We haven't decided yet but we'll let you know when we do." He answered. "We'll be on our way now, she has to go for her antenatal care today,"
"Oh, but why didn't she use this hospital?" Cassie asked directing her question to Greta with a glare.
"I - uh"
"We're sorry about that, Greta wanted us to come but I insisted on going to another place, she'll come here when she wants to have another child I'm sure."
Greta noticed how he isolated himself knowing very well he'd not be father to the child he talks about, that added coal to her already burning furnace.
"Ah, no problem then." Cassie couldn't help but smile at his thought of having another kid, he must be serious with Greta then. She felt relieved and for the first time she felt easy with him, at least he wasn't planning on dumping Greta.
"We'll be leaving now, Doctor,"
"Call me Cassie."
"Okay Cassie, goodbye for now."
"Good bye Mr Harry, Do take care of Greta and yourself will you?"
"Of course."
"Bye Cassie, I'll come tomorrow to check on Jordan."

His hand remained at her lower back as they both walked out of the hospital, she usually didn't like the attention people give them whenever they were together but she didn't care now, she was too pissed to do so, she waited almost impatiently for him to talk so she let out her emotions and hit him with her words.
Luckily for him, he didn't say a word till they got in the car. They were almost half way home when he asked her, "Where did you go to yesterday? Cassie said you didn't go to see Jordan, so don't think about telling me that lie again."
"What's your business with where I was? Because the last time I checked, the contract only stated that you want the baby to yourself not that you get to know everything about my life!"
"But it clearly stated that you don't do anything to put my child in a dangerous position!"
"Your child? You stupid bitch it's my child too! More than it's yours 'cause you aren't the one holding the child in your womb so don't you dare spit shit at me!"
He was shocked to the core with the way she spoke to him, she literally cursed at him but he calmed himself, wondering if it was the hormones that had her that way.
"Calm down okay? I'm not trying to pick a fight with you I just think it's better if I know where you are at all times so I would know where to come if you ever need help, there are dangerous things out there—,"
"And you're not? To be honest I think seeing your selfish and uncaring ass everyday is enough danger itself,"
"You think I don't care?! Fuck, you're my baby mama and if anything happens to you then my baby is affected too so why won't I care?!"
"Must it always be about the baby?! Why not just me?! Can't you just care for me as a person, but whatever, Why would you tell Cassie we're together?"
"What else should I say? That you're my baby mama?! Come on, I helped you with that and you know it."
"I don't know anything except for the fact that you're a wicked baby father who wants to take a baby away from it's mother and lies to everyone that we're together! You're a liar and a cheat and you only care about yourself!"
"Stop the car, I can't stay in the same place with you."
"But—,"
"Stop the damn car, Vincent!"
"Fine!" He stepped on the brake so fast she was almost thrown out of the car seat, she unbuckled the seatbelt and got down from the car, "Are you sure about this? You shouldn't—," she slammed the door, effectively shutting him.
Walking quickly away from the car she expected him to drive away but he didn't, she kept walking anyways soon he'd figure out that she had no plan of entering that car anymore. It was starting to feel like a mini prison just like the house was a big one.
She heard his footstep and turned to look at him, fixing him a glare.
"Don't follow me."
"Where the fuck are you going?!"
"None of your business, i could go jump off a cliff and you won't even bat a eyelid so just leave me alone okay? And if it's because of the baby don't worry I won't intentionally harm the little one even though it's' father is the shittiest person I know,"
"What did I do wrong?" She could hear the pain in his voice and wondered if she went too far but her anger pushed any guilt down.
"What did you do wrong?! How about you tell me me why you don't want me near my own child?"
"But-," he stopped himself then continued after taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry I'll contact my lawyer and have him change that, you will be allowed to visit the child 3 times a week, is that okay with you?" That was more than she even thought possible so she nodded eagerly then cleared her throat and said a curt yes so as not to seem to eager.
"Great. Can we go home now?" He asked tiredly.
