Chapter Two- Cabin 106
-A/N This story is dedicated to my close friends. I'm sorry if the story has errors, I promise it will be edited soon. I know I should had said it in chapter one but there were five teenagers in the van while Zachary's mother was driving it. Enjoy!
"Mason, we have arrived," Zachary said as he shook Mason's shoulder. He took out his earbuds and grabbed his luggage, that was in the far back with the others. As the five teenagers got out of the van, they were amazed to see a five stars off of an abandoned campground. "I wasn't expecting four stars out of this place," Amber said as she slid her phone back into her back pocket. "Probably because of the axe murder, who murdered two years ago," Mason said as he stepped past everyone off of the school bus. He turned around grinned.
All the students surrounded Mrs. Hill, the Spanish teacher. "Welcome to Camp Woodard Lake! A campground made by our fellow students' father, Michael Wood. Please ignore the dark history behind this place, that is in the past. Please don't split up or go alone from your partners which will be staying with, don't be having sex, don't go swimming after 7pm, and don't smoke. Your cabin number is posted on the message board," Mrs. Hill announced as she was standing on top of a picnic table. The students made a line towards the message board.
As Mason found his cabin number, he scrolled his finger down the page and saw that Zachary, Nolan, and Ezekiel were staying in the same cabin as him. Each cabins holds minimum of four people "Perfect," Mason said as he got to his cabin, cabin number 106. Where all of the gruesomeness death started two years ago, Mason opened the door and found himself the first one there. The floors were wooden and smooth as the cabin was made out of wooden spruce boards. "Great, a cabin with a smell of death," Mason spoke to himself out loud. "Probably dead rats?" Ezekiel chuckled as he threw his bag onto one of the bed's. Mason turned around and saw the boy from his class, who is a rebel and breaks the rules. Mason nodded as he sat on the bed next to the door, an easier way to get out.
"Hello there partners," Nolan said as he swung his luggage to the ground. "My name is Nolan Archer, if you didn't know it."
"Yeah we know that. But I didn't felt like saying hello back," Ezekiel said, as he laid back onto the bed and closed his eyes.
"Well I guess we don't have a happy camper in this cabin," Nolan said with a small laugh. He pushed his hair back with one swift move. "There is a legend about Camp Woodard Lake before there were a killing. We all should have a campfire to talk about it."
"I'm going to visit my sister. I'll be back later," Mason said as he put his luggage under the bed and walked out the doorway. He turned around and face Nolan staring straight at him, Nolan smiled and looked away from the window.
"Well don't get axed by the axe murderer," Nolan laughed as he stared out the window, watching Mason walk away.
"I don't trust them at all," Mason whispered to himself, wishing that nobody over heard him. As he made it to his sister's cabin, he gave a slight knock on the wooden door. Amber opened the door and stare into Mason's eyes.
"You know that there are no boys allowed in a girl's cabin, you know that right?" Amber asked as waited for an answer. Mason nodded. "I want to talk to my sister. She is in this cabin."
Mason resumed walking in as Amber closed the door behind him. He turned around and see Amber's annoyed expression and raised his eyebrow. "Don't worry, Amber," Mason said, "I'm just here to talk to my sister about something," Mason said as he chuckled a little bit. "Jenna, I think I'm staying in the same cabin that the axe murder stayed in. I think he is back," Mason said in a frightening voice. Jenna turned to face Amber, all she was doing is playing a game on her phone.
"Why do you say that?" Jenna asked.
"Zachary and I got an unknown message from someone. It was something like 'Nobody is safe. You both should keep an eye open tonight XD – Your worst nightmare' I deleted the message," Mason explained. "It be okay, Ezekiel probably sent it to you. You know how he is," Jenna said as she tried to calm down Mason about the axe murder situation.
Amber walked up to the door, "You should get going. It is almost night," Amber declared as she held the door for Mason. He took off and went to his cabin away from cabin 114. "Look who is finally back," Zachary said as he hugged Mason, close friend.
"Let's go out for a walk," Zachary said as he let go. Mason nodded.
They took off and began wandering around the forest. Mason stared up at the dark and dull night sky. "What is that smell?" Mason asked as he looked away from the dark and dull sky. Zachary shook his head and noticed a dead deer laying in a pile of leaves with it's heart ripped out of their chest.
"Maybe that is what you're smelling," Zachary said as he got close to the deer and started wondering why would a hunter leaves a dead deer and just take the heart. "I think we should go back to our cabin before we get caught."
Mason nodded, "Yeah. Who would murder a deer and just leave it here?" he asked murmured. They took off and noticed there was a sign on one of the tall oldest oak tree with a bloody handprint around the sign.
The sign was "Swimming >"
He ignored the sign and took off to his cabin.
