Chapter 8

Hey guys! So Jooice is gone, and some evil person is in his place. The gang is worried about how they will defeat them. But they are going to get some help now. Also pls know that there is a tiny bit of Latin in this. IDK why, i just like using diffrenet languages for stories.

Socks was wrapping Laff's arm up. His arm was almost completely broken, from all the tugging the vine did on him. "All done." Socks said. "Thanks." Laff said. He was glad to finally be back with his friends, but he mostly wanted to see his friend who was gone. "Socks, what if Jooice is really gone? What if he can't come back?" Laff asked. "We just have to hope for the best." Socks sighed. Laff nodded. He suddenly felt something touch his leg. He looked down and gasped. "What?" Socks said, looking where he was. It was a wolf, but it's fur was tinted emerald green, and it's eyes were bright green. It looked at Laff with a curious expression. "That is one strange wolf." Socks said. The wolf dashed to the forest and Laff and Socks followed it. It took one look back at them, and dashed into the woods, and vanished. "Well, it's gone." Socks said. He went back to the base, but Laff stood where he was. Something about that wolf... He ran into the woods. "Laff?" Socks turned back just in time to see Laff go into the woods. "Laff!" Socks yelped. He ran after Laff, wondering what had gotten into him. Meme and Nadwe saw this as they were talking outside the base. "Guys, come on! Laff ran off somewhere!" Meme said to the others. Laff saw the wolf and continued following it. He leaped across a small, narrow ravine and ran after it. Socks was in hot pursuit, and managed to jump the ravine, but barely. Laff broke into a clearing where he was on the top of a big hill. He looked around for the wolf, getting closer to the edge. He didn't know he was still walking when he looked down and saw he was no longer on the ground. He had walked off the edge and had not fallen! He knelt down and felt a solid substance. Glass. "What?" he wondered. He looked up and finally saw that the air in front of him looked different. Like a bridge. "Laff!" he heard Socks say, and turned and saw him break through the woods. "What were you..." Socks stopped when he saw Laff floating on air. "How the heck..." Socks was speechless. "It's glass." Laff said. Socks came closer to the glass, and walked on. "Incredible," he whispered. "Whoever built this obviously didn't want anyone to know where they lived." Laff said. "Where does it go?" Socks asked. "I don't know, I haven't gone further." Laff said. "Well, I'm pretty sure the rest of the group is coming." On cue, they broke through the woods. "What the heck?" TBH said. "Glass." Socks said. The group was amazed. "We were just about to see where it goes." Laff said. "Sounds like a good idea, especially with all that we've gone through." Blaza said sarcastically. "Something tells me that this is not it." Laff said. He started going up, the group following. They were climbing for a while, getting higher and higher in the sky. Suddenly, Laff saw the green wolf. "There's the wolf!" he said. The group saw the wolf dash away. "Hey, wait, you can't run off like that again!" Socks said, holding Laff back. "But that wolf, it means something!" Laff argued. "Yes, but we go as a group. We can't risk Jooice getting one of us." That made Laff agree with him. So they continued following the wolf, when a spectacular sight came into view. "Oh my God." Meme said. In front of them was an island, floating in the sky. In the middle was a small castle. Trees were lining the edges, and the island seemed to be made of crystal. "What is this place?" oompa asked. "Continue forward to see." someone said. The red wolf came out of nowhere. "You!" TBH said. "Wait, you've seen this wolf before?" Blaza asked. "Yeah, the night we were stabbed by those weird things." TBH explained. "That was necessary. It was the only way to transfer the ability into you." the wolf said. "By stabbing us?" Woolfster asked. "Yes. But enough chit-chat about this. You need to see Natalie." the wolf said. "Who's Natalie?" Laff asked. "You'll see. And by the way, call me Ember." the wolf said. She ran over to the castle, and the group followed. "How come we've never seen this place before?" Laff asked Socks. "Maybe because we didn't know it was here? Or we just didn't see it?" Socks replied. They got to the castle, and saw a young girl sitting with her back against one of the outside walls. She had long brown hair with red streaks in it, but the purple beanie on her head hid most of it. She had a red sweater with blue jeans, and her eyes were a soft grey. She was busy sketching something on a sketch pad. "Natalie, they're here." Ember said to the girl. She looked up and saw them. "Hello. I'm Natalie." she said. She stood up, leaving her sketchbook behind. "Hi." Socks said. He wasn't sure what to say to this...strange person. "I know what you might be thinking." she said. "You think it's strange to see a girl on a floating island by herself with wolves that talk." Socks was speechless now. "It's okay. It's just you need help to save your friend Jooice." "Wait, how do you know his name?" Laff asked suspiciously. "Well, it's going to take a while to explain, but if you're willing to listen, then I'll tell you everything you need to know." she said. "Better listen than know nothing at all." TBVG said. They all agreed, and sat down to listen to her story. "So when the worlds were created, a league of unique people were created. They were known as the Tueres, which in Latin, means protect. They watched the people down in the worlds and made sure that everything was in order. They were never to interfere unless told to. But then, a creature of evil and madness came to life. They called it "Chaos". Chaos pillaged the worlds, inflicting people with its cursed words. The Tueres fought against it, and managed to defeat it, and it scurried away. For a while, everything was peaceful, but now, we have found out that Chaos is back, and he is in your world." "Our world?" Blaza asked. "Yes, and he wants to spread his chaos and madness to every world. If he manages to take over this one, he could control thousands more. And he already is taking action by taking control of your friend Jooice." "What does this have to do with knowing his name?" Muffin asked. "Tueres have been watching each world as long as they live. They soon get to know the people and their personalities and the way they act. If they are acting differently, we take a closer look at them to make sure that they are okay. And your friend has shown signs that Chaos is here." "My question is if we can get Jooice back." Laff asked. She sighed. "I don't know. It depends if his conscience is still..." "Wait, conscience? You're saying it as if it is a physical thing." Meme asked. "Well, with the amount of power he has been exposed to, it probably made his conscience more stronger and physical." Natalie explained. "Huh. Would that also affect me and TBH?" Woolfster asked. "Yes. Because the amount of power you've been exposed to, it would have the same effect." Natalie confirmed. "So what about his conscience?" Nadwe asked. "If his conscience is still there, there is a small chance we could get him back. He may even still be well aware of what is happening if he is strong enough. But if his conscience isn't there... he's as good as dead." The silence was heavy. "What do we have to do?" Laff asked. "TBH and Woolfster already received their abilities, but that doesn't mean it stops there. All of you have a chance of receiving a different ability." "Whaaaaaaa?" Muffin said. "Yep. But it's random. I don't know when you will receive it or not." Natalie said. "What about our base and stuff?" Socks asked. She grimaced. "That's the thing. When you left, and I did not know this, but mobs overran the base, village, everything. They didn't destroy anything, but they will continue to stay in that area in case you come back. He's looking for you." "So we can't go back?" TBH said. "You could, but I can't guarantee your safety." she said. Socks sighed. His home was gone. Again. "I'm sorry." she said. "It's not your fault. Besides, you kinda saved us." Laff said. She smiled. A little. "Ember, take them somewhere they can rest." Natalie said. The wolf nodded and began walking to the castle. Laff stayed behind. "Do you need something?" Natalie asked. "I can't have this anymore." Laff said as a yellowish ball appeared in his hand. Natalie was quiet for a moment. Then she pulled a clear crystal ball from her pocket. "This will remove the ability from you. Just put it where you received it." She handed him the ball and he put it in his hand where the vine had touched him. Nothing happened at first, then he saw an inky black filling the ball. He felt that energy leave him, and when it stopped filling up, he felt very tired. "Why am I suddenly tired?" he asked as he handed the ball back to her. "That's because the ability gives you more energy that you're not used to, like a boost. So when it leaves, all the regular energy is left to keep you walking and stuff without the boost." she explained. "What are you going to do with it?" he asked. "Lock this up where no one can reach it." she said. "Now hurry up or you'll lose the group." He ran off to catch up with the group. Natalie sat there for a while, then grabbed her sketch book and walked away.

...

Jooice was confused and scared. Where was he? He felt so tired. "Oh Jooice, look at you. How are you even still here? Just give in." He wanted to give in, but the faint image of his friends made him fight against it. "Shame. I can't get rid of you, but I can get rid of your friends." His heart stopped. "No! You can't!" Jooice said. He tried to focus on getting back to himself, but the man hit him, making him lose his focus. "Don't bother. You can't beat me." He felt the man leave, and he felt as if he lost everything.

So now Natalie is in the story. She tells about what the heck is happening, and yeah. She lives on a floating island. Don't ask me about it. Idk why i did. But then things take a big turn from here.
