My eyes stared blankly at the calendar shocked at how the days have passed like wind against us.Its felt as just yesterday Salah was waving at us but in reality two weeks had passed. We had maybe moved on to a new stage of our lives. But I wasn't the same and so was he.

Everything was back to its rightful place.Ahya and Imraan were happy and so were everyone else.Well my case was different but of course I was happy for my brother and bhabi.Ahya's mother, aunty Razeena had come to live with us and she fed us delicious dishes.Aunty Meena worried alot these days because Salah wouldn't call much and same went with Arsalan.I missed Salah a lot that I had no boundaries.Especially when I drank coffee alone in the chilly nights I'd remember him and feel as if he'll pop up from behind any of the chairs.

Only if I could tell him..

As promised I didn't cry much.Whenever I missed him, I would go to Aunty Meena and hug her tight or sometimes I'd lie in bed with Ahya and listen to her ramblings.

A light tug on my dark blue dupatta broke my revive as I turned to see a little girl pass her painting sheet to me.I took the sheet from her hand and examined it.For her age she painted quite well.I passed the sheet back to her as I leaned down to her level.

"Sara, your painting looks beautiful just like you.Now go your seat and I'll collect everyone sheet."I placed a soft kiss on her cheek as she walked back to her desk.

To start fresh I started teaching in a school that needed much assistance. The students here were of all ages, eager to learn. But because of less resources the school administrators were not able to provide much.I opted to help in order to become a bit useful as Baba gave to full support and Imraan was as helpful as ever.In the past week the school was back on the run with proper uniform, teaching staff and books. The students were ecstatic to learn from new books and use new stationery.

Baba praised me a lot in my work. The principal was also very happy that his school was back on the line. The taught to almost all the primary classes and my special session was the painting class in grade 2 students. The cute chubby children enjoyed the session a lot as they played with paint.

Just as I collected the last sheet the bell rang as all  the students hurried towards packing their bags.

"Slow down little people."I called out to no one in particular as I saw them rush to the class room door.

Assembling the sheets I placed them in a file and made me way out of the colourful room once all the students were gone.

Half an hour later as I walked out from the school premises I saw the black car parked at the side of the road as usual. My brown shawl slid off my shoulder making me instantly pull it back because of the cold.As the driver saw me coming he came out to open my door.Once I was settled in the back seat I leaned against the seat as the car moved towards our destination.

Just something about everything today made me feel different.I had an odd feeling today. The low chime of the phone made me look at the driver as he answered the phone.

"Yes Bari baaji.. yes I picked her on time...yes we our on our way."He was surely talking to Mama.

I sighed and closed my eyes relaxing against the seat.

Mama was already on the threshold as I entered the house.

"Assalam O Alaikum Mama.. What happened."I asked worriedly seeing her anxious expression.

"Walaikum Assalam.Nothing is wrong.Just come inside Lunch is ready."She almost dragged me inside making me stare at her.

Pulling the wooden chair she made me sit down as Zarah served food.I rose my eyebrows at Zarah asking her what is the matter but she just smiled innocently and shrugged her shoulder.Mama sat by my side as I ate and stared at Aunties and back to Mama.

Once I completed I stood up and excused myself.Definitely mama wasn't telling me anything so it was better not to ask anything.

Folding the praying mat I loosened my dupatta.Sitting on the bed I picked up a book to read only to get disturbed.Ahya strolled inside smiling hideously, her baby bump slightly visible.Clapping her hands she signaled me to get up.

I was getting a little frustrated now.

"Ahya is there something you need."I asked as softly as I can.

"No darling, it's something you need."She stated happily.

"What!!"I bit out as I walked to her side.

"Hey, young woman calm down will ya.. "She said in an obvious tone.

"I..."I begin but soon was cut off as Mama walked in holding a plastic dress bag.She kept it on the bed and came to me side.

"Shahwar, get dressed.Ahya will help you with the make up."She smiled softly cupping me face.

"Mama.. tell me whats going on.Why dress up and makeup?"I asked exasperated.

"Shahwar, you trust us right." I nodded and she continued.

"Then get dressed nicely the drivers waiting for you."She spoke looking over to Ahya.

"Mama.. okay you are sending me somewhere but why should I dress up?"I asked as my mother walked to the door pulling it open.

"Shahwar, when you go to meet a man, you don't go like this.Especially when he could be your future."And she was out of the room leaving me startled.

I turned to Ahya seeing her look at me with an expression I couldn't decipher at that moment.

A man.Future.Man and Future.

Everything seemed to spin as I grasped on the thinnest threads of sanity.Something clicked and all pieces started to join together.I had a meet up with Mr.Fahad's son or whatever his name was.

Ya ALLAH.

Ahya pulled down the plastic bag's zipper revealing a white anarkali dress with orange, green and silver flower embroidery work along the length. The dress was beautiful with  matching dupatta and matching tights.

I took a deep breath in as Ahya handed me the dress making me grab the hanger and walk to the washroom.

Straightening my light brown hair she parted them from the middle and pulled them in a neat bun as I numbly sat staring at my reflection.

"Now a pregnant woman is going to do magic on you."She said probably to cheer me up.Applying black eyeliner and mascara, she lightly stroked blush against my cheekbones.Applying a light colour lipstick she topped it off and backed off.

"All done."She stated smiling at me, making me reciprocate her action. She clasped my hand in her as she squeeze it.

"Believe me Shahwar.Everything is going to be fine."She assured making me nod feebly.

Picking up the matching earning I wore then as Ahya tightened the neck piece against my slender neck.Pulling on my silver pump I stood up draping the dupatta on my shoulders.

I helped Ahya down the stairs.Reaching the hall I saw all the ladies seated there calmly whereas my nerves were haywire.

I walked to Mama as she stood up.

"You look beautiful. Now go."She said softly.

I turned my eyes to Aunty Naheed  Aunty Meena, Aunty Razeena, Ahya amd lastly to Daadi Maa.They all looked quite composed.

"You look very gorgeous Shahwar."Aunty Naheed said as she side hugged me and I held onto her a little longer.

Walking towards the door I tightened my grip on my phone and turned around as Aunty Meena called out.

"Shahwar.Don't reject the poor guy."

I just nodded half heartedly and walked to the car.Once I was settled and the car started to move I saw Imraan indicate to stop as he stood by the driver's side.

"Ashraf bhai you know the place naa..??"He asked the driver as the man behind the wheel nodded.

Imraam waved at me as I waved back. The car hit the road and I felt my heart drop everytime we moved forward.Towards our destination.Green trees swayed as we passed them, the sun almost setting and the darkness taking over.

Salah's handsome face flashed on the back of my mind as I hurriedly unlocked the phone my fingers sliding over to his contact number. My hand almost itched to press the call button but something stopped me.

I just couldn't.

I closed my eyes and leaned back as my heart whispered thousands of Dua's to Almighty ALLAH.About an hour's ride the car came to a halt outside a restaurant that looked vacant against the darkness.

"Shahwar Bibi, your destination." The driver said.

"Are you sure this is the right place."I asked unsure myself.

"Yes I am very sure."He affirmed.

I got down and closed the door behind me my legs wobbled in fear as I moved forward. The car pulled off and was gone leaving me there.

It was a wooden cabin type restaurant where we came to eat when we were children. The glass doors were closed and dim lights could be seen as I climbed the four steps.Around the place large lush greens decorated the place and due the the hilly area a stream ran along the back of the restaurant.Opening the door to the spacious place I walked to the counter only to be stopped by a younger man.

"Ma'am please this way."He said leading me to another glass door that led to the back of the restaurant. On my way I observed the few couples that enjoyed their meals peacefully in the beautiful place.

The man pulled open the door for me as I stepped down on the grass and he closed it back disappearing.Candles were placed on the grass as they shined in the darkness.I could see a canopy a little farther away from me with many more candles. The place was decorated all around and I could smell the fresh roses too.Fairy lights providing a beautiful touch to the place. As I made my way towards the canopy a shadow lingered that stopped me.

Moving my gaze upwards I froze seeing the large man stand there. His suit fit perfectly against his muscular as his eyes bore into mine.My tongue couldn't speak out a word as I saw him stand a few steps away from me.

My heart was already running a marathon and I felt tears brim my eyes. Finally gaining some strength I whispered seeing him flash me a dashing smile.

"Arsalan."
