***

The orange perfectly mixed with yellow. The light pink smeared against the vast sky whilst the greying clouds. The sun rays ready to disappear from the sky above and the moon waiting to be welcomed. The birds flying across the sky, heading back to their homes before sunset. The calm and peaceful environment was a definition of tranquility with the mesmerizing colours all around. The sky itself was emersed in so many beautiful colours that one would easily get distracted.

A soft sigh left my lips as I tucked my feet under my knees. The wind blew my long hair, messing them up as they fell on my face.Making me tuck the long strands behind my ears.My hands closed the book in my lap as my eyes fixed on the serene scene before me.The garden's green grass felt like a plush blanket under the open sky.My lips automatically curved into a smile as the light sun rays now fell directly into my eyes. And I stared back not flinching back or closing my eyelids.I loved when my light brown orbs would look much lighter.

My light brown strands tickled my nose as I gathered them behind my back. The silver thin bangles clicking in my wrist breaking the calm silence.Leaning forward I placed my book on the white table and shifted in my plush cushion seat, sitting in a more comfortable position.Mama and Aunties were all busy were out for some crockery shopping.Ahya and Imraan had also gone out for dinner after a long time.Zarah was probably with Daadi Maa or watching T.V.And I had chosen to read my new book in the garden.

A particular face appeared on the back of my mind with green eyes making my smile drop.Last night's events flashed on my mind making me grimace in displeasure.I folded my arms across my chest as I thought that a man plans so much.He think so much and decorates his mind and heart with all the fantasy and colours, as much as he can do.He thinks about the awaiting happiness, about his future as he plans every pin and nail.He even doesn't care about the consequences as he paints his canvas with all the beautiful colours and all the mesmerizing shades.Little does he know that the reality is very different. The truth is very bitter. And when all his dreams shatter in front of his eyes he cannot do anything except to rub his hands. He is then only left with vulnerability.

And I had experienced it all yesterday night.Salah was vulnerable last night. His eyes spoke so much, explaining hundreds of things. He had shown me a different side of him.The vulnerable one.He had opened up to me although the reality had crashed a boulder on me.I thoughts about the past months, if I had married Salah. My love would had been enough for both of us but what if Talia wasn't running away, Salah would have never been happy with me.We would be in a bond of compromise. Our relation would be very compromising but then again anything would have happened.

Last night had imprinted every word in my mind. The proposal of Mr.Farhaan did not do any better to my mind.Something different was about the past night.I had seen love in Salah's green eyes. The emotion I yearned to see for so many years. The emotion I craved for.But only if it was this easy.

The sound of Azaan from the near by mosque broke my revive.Placing my dupatta on my head I stood up as my eyes roamed on the now darkening sky.Grabbing my book I walked inside the house.

Dishing out Chinese rice, I handed the platter to Zarah as she walked out to the dining room.Washing my hands, I dried them and made my way to the dining room also, where everyone was having dinner.Pulling my chair I sat down.Filling my plate with some rice and sauce I played with my spoon not hearing a word Daadi Maa was saying to Aunty Naheed. They were probably talking about the shopping they did.Taking a small bite from my food I cast my eyes to Salah. He was oblivious to what was happening around him as he ate quietly looking down at his plate. He was even oblivious to my stare.

Averting my eyes I looked at the shiny spoon in my hand.It was after a long time that he was home all day.He even accompanied Mama and Aunties to their shopping tour.I felt happy having him in sight.Just looking at him was enough, it wasn't necessary that we confessed all time.

Finishing my food I stood up quietly and took my plate when Mama's voice stopped me.

"Shahwar, where to?"She asked softly catching everyone's attention.

"I finished my dinner.Please excuse me."I said.

"You didn't eat properly dear. Are you feeling well?" This time Aunty Meena asked.

Smiling at her slightly I said.

"I feeling fine Aunty. But I don't feel like eating."Feeling Salah's eyes on me I turned around making my way to the kitchen.

After I had cleared the kitchen and Zarah had helped me clean up I retired to my room.Praying Isha I sat on the prayer mat longer than usual just talking to ALLAH , Who listens to everyone, everywhere and everytime.Although people abandon us but HE is the only one Who takes us under His shadow in our most darkest times. He is the one Who always listens to us.

A knock on my door startled me as I stood up pulling the prayer mat with me.Opening the door I saw Zarah stand there with her phone in her hand.

"Salah bhai has called you in the garden."She said grinning before ai could even ask her.

I frowned as confusion swirled in me.

"At this time?"I asked unsure.

She nodded her head.

"Now go and enjoy."She giggled and winked before she turned and left for her room.

Suddenly my stomach twisted but not in a good way.A sudden feeling dawned on me, maybe something bad was going to happen.

I closed my bedroom door behind me before striding down the stairs slowly and quietly. The house was lit with dim lights as I walked down the hallways making my way to the wooden doors that led to the garden.

Reaching the door I opened them as my eyes scanned the place.Salah stood there under the open sky, his back facing me as his arms remained folded against his chest.Because of the darkness I could only see his body outline.Standing by the door I complemented whether to go back to my room or go outside. My heart and mind battled and my heart won as I stepped in the dark garden.

The long dupatta that was on my shoulders brushed against me as I walked to Salah, the wind blowing softly.

I called out to the man once I was behind him,

"Salah.."my soft voice spread around us.He turned around facing me.His arms still folded. His eyes stared right through me pulling me into a daze.

Salah Khan's POV .. :*

"Salah.."Her soft voice called out to me making me turn around. The moonlight shone on her face, making it glow. Her long hair were in a loose braid whilst some wild strands fell on her forehead. Her light brown eyes stared at me, shining with an emotion I had learned in the past few days.Love.

The words that I had memorized by heart were now gone from the tip of my tongue making me confuse more than ever.Shahwar had an effect on me.She weakend me.Making me forget around us.Her beautiful large eyes blinked as she averted her gaze. Her fingers fiddling together.I cleared my throat as my heart beats sped up.

Clenching my fists I spoke.

"Shahwar.."

She gave a nod encouraging me to speak further.

"I am going back."I spoke slowly.

Everything seemed to stop as I spoke the bitter words. She seemed to be frozen as she stood like a statue. Her eyes unwavering as her lips parted and her features changed.Eveeything stilled and disappeared around us as I stared at her seeing her body remain glued to her place. She closed her mouth and I noticed the clear crystal drop in her eye before it dropped down her long lashes finally slipping down her cheek.

"Salah.."She almost breathed out.As her shoulders curled inwards.

I mentally boosted myself that my decision was only for the betterment. It was for the good of her and me.

"You are joking r..right?"She said as she stepped forward. Her eyes searching mine as her tears floated.

I shook my head.

"Shahwar.I didn't inform when I came here but I want to tell you when I am leaving.I have confirmed my flight and I am leaving in two days."

She violently shook her head, her hand going to her forehead as she closed her eyes tightly.

It pained me to see her tears. It cracked my heart when she got hurt.

"Salah please don't do this.."She cried out.Her hand moving to cover her mouth. My hands reached forward, holding onto her arms.

"Shahwar. Please don't cry. It's for the better. You have to get married to the man your parents choose."I told her.Trying to convince myself more than her.

She shook her head and pulled out from my grasp.Moving around me she wrapped her arms around herself, her back faced me as she cried silently.

Last nights event played at the back of my mind.We had gone too far in the lands of love that both of us wanted to save the other.

"I am going."I whispered one last time to her.Ready to leave I turned around only to stop.

She fell down on the grass as she cried out loud, I turned around abruptly seeing her curled herself.I moved forward sitting in front of her on the grass.

"Shahwar.." I called out.Her condition made me feel more than worse. It spread an undescribable pain against my chest.

Her teary eyes stared at my face as she gulped holding onto my hand.

"Salah.Stay please.Don't go tonight."She whispered. Her soft voice slowly soothing my pain.

I moved back but her hold tightened.I feared that I might loose myself against her.

"Please.."She pleaded.Her lips wobbling.

"Okay. But promise me something."I spoke making her nod.She wiped her tears hurriedly and nodded her head again.

"After I go back you won't cry Shahwar. You won't cry for me."I said.

Her lips sealed shut as her eyes widened a fraction. But then she whispered a soft.

"Okay."My heart relaxed a little as I wiped the lone tear that slipped her eye.Offering a smile I sat beside her.My hand still in her grasp.

Her face turned to me but she didn't smile.I didn't like it when she didn't smile.I like the Shahwar that smiles.

"Smile a little Shahwar."

"You push me down a cliff and ask me to smile."She stated innocently making me sigh. But then she did smile.A beautiful one.

We sat there till dawn hand in hand. Not talking much.As the moonlight flashed on us we stole secret glances. The moon peeked at us from behind the clouds as we stared at the beautiful sky.

Shahwar's warm hand, warmed up my cold hand.We sat side by side and I wished that ALLAH make us hold hands forever.

As I once again turned to face her, I thought no matter how much I try,I couldn't reach that level on which Shahwar had so innocently loved me.The couldn't match that level of love just yet.

Her hold tightened making me stare at our hands.

She was afraid to loose me, as much as I was .. We were same of the loosing level ..
