I was following the fence line by myself, lost in thought when I heard mom's pained cry.

I heard Akela, Baloo, and Little Raksha start to howl back, so I joined in as I was running in mom's direction.

When I arrived I saw mom fall.

The other wolf, which was huge. He released her front leg and was lunging for her throat.

I ran and jumped, ramming into his side, forcing him to move in the other direction.

I growled at him and he growled back, louder then me.

He lunged for me and grabbed my scruff, throwing me into a tree.

My back popped, I couldn't move.

Mom appeared on his back and told me, "Get your brothers and sister, protect the house! It's what he's after!"

I nodded, forcing myself to my feet.

I started running towards the house howling once more as I ran.

I skidded to a stop as I saw Akela, Baloo, and Little Raksha running towards me.

I stopped and started panting, "Mom said to protect the house, there's a wolf and he's bigger then us,".

I felt blood start to soak my fur.

Baloo gasped, "What happened to your neck?" He started towards me to clean the wound.

"We don't have time! Mom said protect the house, it's what he's after,".

I started running and heard the steps of three others behind me.

As we entered the meadow the house was in, I saw Pietro, and Clint outside on the porch.

Clint had his bow loaded and drawn back.

Pietro appeared beside us, leaving a blue streak where he ran for a few moments before it disappeared.

Pietro grabbed my neck and swung himself onto my back.

We'd practiced it before because he saw it on some movie called Lord of the something? I wasn't paying attention when he was explaining it.

He touched the wound, I growled and glared at him, "Sorry," he sheepishly said.

After he started to look at the wound.

I skidded to a stop in front of the house and stepped onto the porch.

Pietro hopped off.

Akela started to push Clint and Pietro to the door, "Whoa guys,".

I heard mom's pained howl, warning us.

I bared my teeth and growled to Akela, "Stay here I'm going to scout out the woods to see if he's coming,".

Akela nodded and I started running towards the forests, leaving Akela, Baloo, and Little Raksha to keep the humans inside.
