The Boiling Rock, Part 1
Aya's POV
"And you better not have any ideas on escaping."
The warden slammed the door shut and I flinched at the loud slam. My body was shivering like crazy and I could see my breathe every time I exhaled out; I was freezing. I looked down at my hands and they were shaking, along with starting to lose feeling in my fingers. I shut my eyes and fell onto my side, holding my knees to my chest. I felt like I was in an endless blizzard that I couldn't escape from.
Once again, I felt powerless. My wings were turning blue, and I could slowly feel my power drained from my body the longer I'm in here and I've only been in here for a minute or two. Sapphire told me if I'm in a freezing room or environment for too long, my wings could freeze and deteriorate, meaning I will lose my Fire Angel power for ever and there is no way to get them back. Not to mention my risk of freezing to death as well.
The Firelord knows how to take me out and in my condition, he will succeed.
I exhaled with shaky breath, "Aang, whe-where are yo-you?"

Third Person's POV
With Prince Zuko and Sokka
"What do you think they did to, Aya?" Sokka asked Zuko as they flew to the Boiling Rock to save her, Hakoda, and Ruka.
"My best guest is they put her in the Cooler." Zuko remarked, clenching his fists at the thought of his cousin freezing.
"Doesn't sound friendly." Sokka mentioned.
Zuko shook his head, "it's not. If Aya is in a Cooler, she could possibly freeze and being the Fire Angel, ice and cold temperatures is her weakness. She could die..."
It was silent after that and both of the boys looked down in sorrow and worry.

At the Boiling Rock; Inside the Coolers
Sokka scurried through the Coolers, searching for his sister. He searched through almost all of them until he got to the last on the end and opened it to reveal a freezing, water tribe girl with frozen wings.
"Aya..." Sokka whispered and went to her side, gently touching her body. "Oh no..."
Zuko ran in and saw his cousin on the floor, freezing to death.
"We have to get her out of here." Zuko immediately declared, taking her side. "Now."
Sokka was about to pick her up, when Zuko heard something.
"Someone's coming!" Zuko called and shut the door.
Two guards walked by the cells, chatting.
"Yeah, new arrivals coming in at dawn." The male guard said.
"Anybody interesting?" The female questioned.
"Nah, just the usual. Some robbers, a couple traitors, some war prisoners," Sokka looks at Zuko with shock and worry as the guard spoke. "Though, I did hear there might be a pirate."
"No fooling!" The female chuckled.
"War prisoners. It could be your father and Aya's mother." Zuko remarked.
"I know." Sokka said.
"Well, what should we do? Are we going ahead with the plan or are we waiting another night?" Zuko asked, worrying about Aya's state and health.
"I don't know! Is it right for me to risk Aya's life, Suki's freedom, all of our freedom on the slim chance that my dad and Ruka are gonna show up?" Sokka reasoned.
"It's your call, Sokka." Zuko told him and Sokka looked down at Aya's freezing body, contemplating on what to do.
——
That Night
Suki and another prisoner, Chit Sang, are waiting for Zuko and Sokka's arrival. Suddenly, they hear them above and see Sokka rolling the detached, cooler down the hill, while Zuko carried his cousin down.
"Took you guys long enough." Chit Sang mentioned as they helped Sokka roll down the cooler." Down below are two other prisoners, a male sitting on a rock, and a female waving. "This here's my girl and my best buddy, they're coming too."
"Fine. Everybody in the cooler. Let's go." Sokka sternly encourages as they move the cooler into the water. Sokka walks over and moves a rock, revealing his water tribe clothes. Zuko looks down on him.
"Are you sure you wanna go?" Zuko asked and Suki looks over at Aya with worry and concern. "You're the one who said you wanted to redeem yourself. Redeem your honor. Rescuing your dad and Aya's mother is your chance."
Suki approaches, "you dad? Aya's mother?"
Sokka turns to the prince, "if I had just cut my losses at the invasion, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess and Aya wouldn't be on verge of dying. Maybe sometimes it's just better to call it quits before you fail."
"No, it's not." Zuko reasoned, "look Sokka, you're going to fail a lot before things work out."
Sokka stands up with his sword on his back. "That supposed to make me feel better?"
Sokka moved away as Zuko continues, "Even though you'll probably fail over and over and over again ..."
"Seriously, not helping..."
"You have to try every time." Zuko says and Sokka looks down, "you can't quit because you're afraid you might fail."
"Hey, if you two are done cuddling, can we get a move on?" Chit Sang asked standing by the cooler with the girl and male prisoners.
"No. I'm staying. You guys go." Sokka concluded and turned to Suki. "You've been here long enough."
"I'm not leaving without you, Sokka." Suki declared.
"I'm staying, too." Zuko added, "we just have to keep an eye on, Aya."
"Not me, I'm out. Let's roll, baby." Chit Sang said before pushing the cooler into the lake and jumped in.
"We gave up our only chance of escaping." Sokka said as he watched the cooler float away. "I hope we haven't just made a huge mistake."
——
Morning
"Guards! Secure the perimeter and lock down the prisoners! Now!"
Many guards appear to lock down the prisoners as one guard uses a fire whip to control the prisoners. Outside the prison walls, are Sokka, Suki, and Zuko, who still has Aya in his arms.
"The plan failed! They're caught!" Sokka called and they continued forward carefully to the gondolas. Sokka looked around the corner and saw the moving gondola.
"The gondola's moving." Sokka mentioned as the gondola approached the prison. "This is it." The gondola arrived at the prison. "If my dad and Ruka are not there, we've risked everything for nothing."
"We had too." Suki said and grabbed Sokka's hand.
"Come on, come on..."
A large man with a tattoo and a nose ring walked out first.
"Is that your dad?" Zuko asked.
"My dad doesn't have a nose ring." Sokka retorted and several other war prisoners walked out. "Where are they?" One more prisoner exited, but Hakoda and Ruka don't appear. "That's it? That can't be it."
"I'm sorry, Sokka." Suki apologized.
"Oh, no." Sokka sighs.
"Hey, you two! Get off the gondola!"
The three look up to see Hakoda and Ruka step off the gondola and Sokka's eyes grew.
"Dad...Ruka..."

Got part 1 done. It's short and terrible, but it's something for you all to read while I get part 2 finished. I struggled with this chapter because I had no idea where to start with it. Now that I have this chapter done, I will be able to write part 2 and possibly finish this story soon(no promises though)
Well, Aya's freezing to death and her wings are completely frozen. Let's see if she can be saved, and if her and Aang will be reunited again.
See ya in part 2✌️
