Appearance: Jem's looks, while nice, could, for the vast majority, be described as cookie-cutter. Yes, his body is rippling with muscles that are as attractive as they are frightening - he's a Career, what do you expect? Sure, he's tall and dirty blonde with intense grey eyes and a jawline that'll make you want to jump him, but it's not like any of his brothers are any different. There are very few things that really set Jem apart from any of the other people who surround him: the slightest bit of freckles under his eyes that perfectly frame his slightly too-long nose, and the angle at which said nose sits. It's been just a little crooked ever since he broke it in a fight four years ago. But if you think he's been marked by it, well, you should see the other guy.
Personality: Jem is, in the simplest of terms, a chameleon; his attitude and behaviour changes based on who is around him. Around his parents, he is the perfect son: obedient, respectful, and always looking for ways to give out a helping hand. With his brothers, he acts with the maturity of someone much older than him, always keeping them out of trouble. In training he's brutal and arrogant, completely unwavering in his sheer confidence in his abilities - every trainer's dream. When he's with friends, Jem is an absolute goofball, always the first to crack a joke or to have a stupid idea that eventually gets them into shit. Where his love life is concerned, he's thoughtful and sensitive, never taking charge unless the boy wants him to - which, considering his type, is very rare. Jem is dominated by his need to please, and the bottom line is that he really doesn't have much of a personality of his own.
Background: Surprisingly, there have been no big traumas in Jem's events to make him the way he is; he just happens to go a bit too out of his way to please others. His parents (Glassius, 53, and Mirage, 47) have always been very loving and he gets along with his two younger brothers (Quartz, 17, and Garnet, 16) great, in part due to their close age. He's got a few friends whom he considers to be particularly close, and a large circle of acquaintances who'll occasionally join him on his adventures. Currently, Jem is happily single, though he's (lowkey, of course) had an eye on his training partner Cesario for a few months now.
