what is the title of your winning book(s)?

What if... another Weilan story. I'm not thrilled with this title but it was my first story and I was so unprepared but I had to choose something to be able to post the story :lol: I plan on finding a better title someday though ^_^

When did you get the idea to write your winning book?

It's been almost a year now. I ran out of fanfictions to read at the moment and wasn't doing well waiting for updates. Suddenly my mind provided me with scenes and I decided to write them down.

What are your inspirations for writing this book?

The idea was to keep the strong love from the original novel but turn things upside down a bit, so the bisexual Yunlan who went after him with determination became a boy who had never dated or been interested in anyone and didn't understand what he was now feeling.

Are there any inspirations behind your main character(s)? Are there any stories for their personality, name, backstory, ETC?

For their stories and backgrounds, they just come along with the stories. They are not inspired by any specific person. About the names of the main characters, I always borrow the names of Wei and Yunlan from the novel Guardian - even when I'm not really writing a fanfiction.

Are there any special dedications for your book?

To all the people that read it and gave my story a chance, that voted letting me know they liked it, that commented sharing their thoughts and giving me courage to go on.

How old were you when you began writing this book?

How old was I? Well, I started a year ago so I was a year younger than now :-p
Let's just say I was not a teen anymore ^_^

What do you believe the strongest and weakest part of your writing is, in general?

I think I do better with emotions and feelings, and I hope readers agree. My weakest point is no doubt descriptions of places and surroundings, but it's also a weak point as a reader so there's only so much I can do about it...

How many drafts of this story do you have? If applicable, will you continue to rewrite? If applicable, do you think you will do a rewrite if you haven't already?

I had one draft that I kept reading and correcting, now I only have what is posted on Wattpad. I will continue to edit it regarding its grammar whenever I spot mistakes or imperfections, but I will not change the story.

The spot light is yours. In 100 words or less, why should everyone read your book?

This story is about understanding one's own feelings. Yunlan never had a crush and only had one friend, and he was happy like that, but because of it he had no basis to understand what he was feeling all of a sudden.

If someone were to offer you a publishing deal tomorrow, would you take it? Would you still leave your work for us to admire on wattpad?

Well, who would say no to that? But if possible I would keep my stories on Wattpad as well.

When writing, do you have a plot in mind, or do you write it on the fly, as you come up with it?

When I have an idea, I think of the general plot and write down a full plan of everything that will happen before I start working on the drafts.

What is the best piece of advice that you can give other writers?

To keep writing and reading a lot.

This could get very weird very fast, be honest, what, exactly, were you doing when you learned you won first place?

I woke up to a notification with my votes, then I checked Wattpad while having a cup of tea and a toast for breakfast ^_^

What was your reaction when you read that you won?

I couldn't believe it. I never expected to be first, and I was happy ^_^

Do you have anything to say to your fellow genre competitors?

All stories are great, and I love to find new ones looking at awards lists.

For someone wanting to write their first novel, what is the best piece of starting advice that you can give them?

To not stress out too much, let the plot come into your head then write for yourself.

Is there anything else about yourself or your writing that you would like to add?

Although it is not my first language, I enjoy writing my stories in English ^_^
Not one of my characters is exactly me, but there's a bit of me in all of them.
And  every single time someone enjoys one of my stories it means so much to me, so thank you ^_^
