When did you get the idea to write your winning book?
Around September 2018 during a conversation with my husband.

What are your inspirations for writing this book?
I know what it's like to not have a support system, to feel alone, and deal with issues myself. I wanted others to know that they're not alone and they can always count on me to be there.

Are there any special dedications for your book?
Yes, a few actually. My husband @Piggy_86 and our children— Jamyson, Brayden, Jeyliona, and Jazzlyn. They always keep me going, no matter what. My 'Ohana family— @brunette-bombshell, @Jay-Elizabeth, @SpaceQueenSara, and @LillyMHenderson. They are my go-to for almost everything. I deeply cherish them. Lastly, but not least, everyone who reads my advice book that supports, encourages, and writes to me. Without my readers, Dear Boo wouldn't exist. I have a few more, but I will add those in my acknowledgment page in the book.

How old were you when you began writing this book?
🙈 Oof 🤐 Nah, I was 32 (a few months before my birthday) and I'm 33 now.

What do you believe the strongest and weakest part of your writing is, in general?
Strongest is definitely being empathetic and writing as if I'm in the person (or characters) shoes. Weakest is how my mind will jump from one thing to another. That's part of having bipolar type two disorder, my mind doesn't take a break.

How many drafts of this story do you have? If applicable, will you continue to rewrite? If applicable, do you think you will do a rewrite if you haven't already?
This is it! When it's full I will edit grammar flaws and begin part two. Dear Boo isn't going anywhere. 😏

What is one reason why you believe everybody should check out your book?
If you need a friend, someone to confide in, or just want to read advice to see you're not alone in a certain situation— then this would be beneficial for you.

If someone were to offer you a publishing deal tomorrow, would you take it? Would you still leave your work for us to admire on wattpad?
Of course, I would take it! I definitely would leave my work here and continue writing here.

When writing, do you have a plot in mind, or do you write it on the fly, as you come up with it?
For my novel, Not Like The Rest, I am definitely a planner! For Dear Boo, I read a letter and respond from my heart. I also look up photos on Google to help those who write to me. Mainly because people can never show too much love and support.

What, if anything, do you do to help yourself concentrate when writing?
Surprisingly, I listen to Slipknot, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, and bands like them. I rock out while I write! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

What is the best piece of advice that you can give other writers?
Never give up! Always write something you enjoy! Also, don't take every review to heart. Some people can be very toxic.

This could get very weird very fast, be honest, what, exactly, were you doing when you learned you won first place?
I was drinking tea and taking my morning meds. 🙈😂😂😂

What was your reaction when you read that you won?
I was thrilled! Every win means a lot to me, it helps keep me motivated as well.

Do you have anything to say to your fellow genre competitors?
Every one of you are amazing! Keep pushing forward, entering awards and be yourself! Live, laugh, love!

Is there anything else about yourself or your writing that you would like to add?
I'm very thankful for my loyal followers, they are truly a blessing. This app has changed strangers into friends, and some even best friends. Thank you for being you!
