Chapter-6 The Street Championship-Part 1
Well, you might’ve thought I died in a weird way but, oh well, I ain't dead yet.
Hours later, I came back to consciousness, screaming, “HORSE?! NO!!!”
Only then, I realised I wasn’t inside fire anymore, I was just sleeping on the broken bed inside Demiris, the place where Ava had asked me to stay. Moreover, was this all a dream? Was all this Sorting stuff, just something I was dreaming? Maybe, all of this wasn’t real . . . I kept going through an existential crisis until I heard someone knocking at the door, by that I mean, the door literally flew. Ava trudged inside. She spoke to me, in a much more normal tone, “Hey, so you finally got sorted. I am going to be honest, how did you manage to get into the Green Fire?”
“I did?” I asked, completely oblivious about it.
“Yes, you managed it, and you got sorted into the Sacred Order. Now let’s get you into some training!” she replied, even though that wasn’t much of a reply.
“What is the Sacred Order?” I asked.
“It's one of the rarest orders you can get sorted into Legendreompus, and now you need to train more,” said Ava.
“Okay, so now what?”
“Let me show you around . . .” said Ava, as she gestured to me to follow her. And then, I realised I was still sitting in that broken bed inside Demiris. How embarrassing was I? You get the example, I thought to myself.
Getting off the bed, I followed Ava out of the broken house of Demiris. As we walked to — where Ava was taking me — we walked silently.
I thought about random stuff, as I walked through the roads of Legendreompus. I could see stores selling swords and assault rifles; while some stalls sold magic power and more, some stalls did a really bad job of it and ended up burning their own stall or sometimes causing a small crater on the ground. With some stalls burning in the sides, we walked almost as if nothing had happened, okay, maybe not we, but Ava sure did look like that.
Ava continued to walk, while I followed, until I suddenly felt the atmosphere getting a little bit back to normal weather. Normally, I would’ve thought that it was the time for snow to melt, but when I looked back at Demiris, it was still snowing over there. How come there were two different climates between places so nearby?
I asked Ava, curiously, “Hey, why does this place have spring weather while at Demiris it has been snowing?”
“Well . . .” began Ava. “Now that you are sorted, I should start explaining stuff to you —”
As she was about to start telling me the answer to my question, she got distracted.
She found a banner outside the small stadium that was located some metres ahead the road, in the direction we were walking in.
The banner had these words written upon it: “Street Championship”.
Ava, over-excitedly ran towards the stadium, shouting, “Okay, I know I should take you to your dorm, but you GOTTA TAKE PART IN THIS!”
“But I don’t know how to fight properly yet . . .” I protested, but to no avail.
Ava, in spite of my protest, pulled me towards the competition. Oh, how I would love to be back with my school crew! Speaking of my school crew, I still wondered what Ash actually wanted to tell me?
Only then I realised, Ava managed to drag me inside the stadium, once inside a person named Will Smith (don't ask how I know his name), came up the stage and started announcing stuff about the Street Championship. To be honest, I was trembling when I found out Ava actually managed to enroll me into the Championship, that fast.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to face whoever I was battling against.
“Hello, ladies and gentlemen!” said Will. “Welcome to today’s Street Championship! In this Championship, not only can you gain the priorities of being a Rare member but you also get a weapon for more practice! So what are y'all waiting for? Let the Championship commence!”
Shocked at first, I felt fear, the same feeling I feel whenever there’s a Maths exam next and you haven’t studied till the last moment, or when you go into Penalties in Fifa 16.
Will, the commentator, started showing a visual screen of all the matchups and players chosen for the Championship. Firstly, looking at the screen, I felt a bit of ease when I saw there were only three other competitiors against me.
Will announced soon afterwards I finished looking at the table. He spoke, “The first battle is between Sam Jackson and Angelica Palmero, so what’re we waiting for?! Let’s begin!”
Looking back, I could see Ava mouthing the words, “Will you're the worst commentator I've ever seen . . .”
I don't know how I managed to pep-talk myself into doing this, but guess what, I haven’t gotten time to do that, ugh, why did I even agree to this?
Oh wait . . . I didn’t.
Before I could think, Ava kicked me from the sitting place, and off into the Battle Arena. I was up against some girl whose name I did not know. She wore a purplish robe with lightly shaded borders. She held forth staff which had a purple-coloured glass orb. To me, she didn't look that powerful really, but when I found out that she could shoot purple-coloured lasers out of that glass ball, I knew I would have terrible nightmares if I lived after this.
Will kept on commentating as if everything were normal, “Lets see who wins! The Plasmian Angelica, or the new addition to The Sacred Order. Three! Two! One!”
You’re so dead, my mind told me.
Tell me something new, I replied.
“Begin!” Will shouted out.
With that, my torturous nightmare began with a purple laser targeted at me. I ducked.
The beam of laser hit the ground and burnt a small-sized crater on it. I looked back at my opponent only to find her flying and shooting lasers at me.
Can it get any worse? I thought to myself.
I shouted at the crowd which was cheering about me dodging three of her laser beams. “Someone give me a weapon to fight with, please?”
I hoped someone would throw me an weapon, but before someone could react to my demand, Will said, “Everyone keep your weapon to yourself please.”
I felt like shouting at him in rage. I was about to try to shout at him, that's when I felt something hit my head, with a bonk it fell to the ground. It was a sword, not some outstanding-looking, cool sword; it was an old-looking sword, it's hilt was wrapped in a sturdy blue cloth, which was keeping it together with the blade. I could sense Will going towards Ava on the stands, but I couldn't care less.
My opponent took the opportunity to jump at me, engulfed in a purple aura.
Another purple beam shot at me, I ducked again. The point where the laser the ground burst into purple flames. As soon as she turned, I grabbed the opportunity to hit her right at the head, as she crumpled to the ground, I could see as a stream of artery shoot up to her head.
Before I could react to what I'd done, Will was blaring into the mic in a loud voice, “And Sam gets up the chart to the Quarter Finals! With an outstanding victory against Angelica!”

Q: Why did it take so long?
A: It did because I am really busy okay. Honestly it was written sometime ago but I forgot to post.
