You were not looking forward to lunchtime. Normally, that would be a time that you would be excited to engage with everyone and sit with Pyramid Head or one of the others if they feel like it but now all you felt was dread. You were informed that you would still be going to lunch, but you would allow the new nurse to do everything, and you would observe. You didn't like that you couldn't really interact with them, but there was nothing they said about you sitting next to Pyramid Head so you figured that you could do that, but you would not engage like you normally do with everyone else. This was going to be her rodeo and she would have to prove herself if she was worthy of staying there. You had a feeling that she wouldn't make it the whole day but for the sake of not being entirely bitter or jealous, you hoped that she would because everyone deserves to make money. You turned your head at the sound of a knock at your door.

"May I come in?" Your door was unlocked, so you gave the affirmative. Randall is the one who came in and he gave you a tight-lipped smile. "I know That you are not happy about this new arrangement. And trust me, I am not either, because, between you and I, this new nurse is uh... a bit snotty and aggressive. Do not let her deter you from being our best nurse. I am not supposed to have favorites due to all the legal stuff and HR you know all about. However, I cannot help but feel inclined to ensure your job is not jeopardized. We would be very foolish to lose someone like you who has gotten along with all of our patients from that ward including the most difficult and dangerous." You felt touched by all of this. You thought that you didn't have anyone on your side, but you were glad to have someone.

"Thank you, Randall. It means a lot to me this job. I do like what I do and who I take care of." He smiled sincerely at you and walked into your room, closing the door behind him.

"You're very welcome. I don't find half of them that bad honestly. Yes, we all know the obvious but, here they're not as bad as they were outside. Unfortunately, I am not their nurse so I enjoy learning about them through you...I am on your side Y/N; no matter what happens, I have your back." He winked at you and went to leave but, paused at your door turning back to you. "See you in 10." With those last words, he left you to finish getting ready for lunchtime. You didn't realize how much you needed that talk until you felt your heart rate slow and you had a slight pep to your step. It was going to be okay, no matter the outcome it was going to be okay. You already knew they were at lunch so you made your way slowly there and when you entered the cafeteria, everyone had just been seated and was looking towards the entrance where you came from. 

"Hi-" You were rudely interrupted by a throat clearing. The new nurse was already being a rude ass?

"Excuse you, I was talking, who are you anyway?" You felt your blood pressure spike as you cut your eyes to the new nurse who was glaring at you. 

"You weren't but, continue." You didn't answer her question as you both stared at each other until she rolled her eyes and faced the front again with Randall. 

"Hi, I'm Nurse Joan and I'm going to be taking over whoever your other nurse was." Before you could speak Randall corrected her. 

"You're not taking over Nurse Y/N who's beside you. She knows them better than you do. You are simply doing a test run to see if you'll fully be hired to work beside her." You smirked at that and she said nothing but, her jaw tensed. You said nothing except to grab your stuff and sit on the opposite of Pyramid Head. You could feel his eyes on you and he growled in annoyance at you. You reached out to pat his arm before pulling back to be on your phone.

"Just for now big guy." You reassured him that you weren't sitting next to him out of spite or malice. You were instructed to do nothing so you will do nothing. 

"Why is she just sitting there? Is that allowed?" You sighed a bit continuing to scroll through social media as Randall kindly explained what was going on to her. 

"I told her to since I wanted to observe how well you cater to the others. The ball is in your court." Randall sat in his usual seat and you continued to scroll on the phone as she just...stood there. You glanced at her waiting for her to jumpstart or kickstart, and it seemed the other's already sour mood was getting pissy with her standing there too. 

"You're that scared and we haven't even done anything." Billy surprisingly was the one who spoke. You thought it would be Freddy but, he wasn't even looking at her, he was looking down at the table with a scowl. That's when you noticed none of them had their food so you looked at her than expectantly. 

"I am not." She stood there a second longer before going to grab their lunch trays to hand out. You were waiting to see if she would give Pyramid Head and Hannobal their lunch trays since that was one of the tests that she needed to pass to get hired. "Why they don't get their food?" She is not doing a good job on her part. 

"They're handcuffed at the wrists, ankles, and waist." She looked like she wanted to suck her teeth or roll her eyes but, refrained from doing so. She haughtily made her way to the lunch line where she grabbed trays and started stomping her way back to the tables, almost slamming them in front of the patients. You watched her in amusement as she continued to do this, but your amusement soon turned to contempt when she purposely avoided Hannibal and Pyramidhead. Didn't she know that she had to also give them trays of food? What does she think? They weren't shackled the way they usually are. They were shackled the same way as everyone else. 

"Aren't you gonna get a plate for Pyramidhead and Hannibal?" This time, she did not hide her scoff or the scowl on her face as she glared at you.

"They do not need to eat. I know the rules already. There is no need for you to try and make me break them." Either someone lied to her, or she was doing this on purpose.

"What rule book? Or who did you speak to that told you that they were not to eat? If that was the case, they would not be here in the cafeteria. Now, may you please do me a favor and get them a plate of food like you're supposed to." You were talking calmly to her, even though anger was brewing underneath your skin as she refused. Again.

"It's bad enough that those other freaks get to eat. I am not gonna feed a monstrosity and a cannibal." You had enough of her and you placed your phone on top of the table to get up and get Pyramid head and Hannibal their food. You were going to show her how it's done and you are positive that she was not going to be working with you if she was this uninterested already and cruel.  "What are you doing?" You ignored her the same way she ignored you before, as you grabbed two lunch trays, and went to Hannibal placing it down gently in front of him as he thanked you. You went back to your spot by Pyramid Head placing his tray down. You knew he was capable of eating himself but now you needed to know what kind of mood he was in and if he was gonna do it. 

"You're going to eat for me, big guy?" It was silent until he hummed and slid his hand to the spot next to him and slid it back. He wanted you to feed him and because you were weak and liked him you were going to do just that. "I'm coming." The new nurse was watching you like a hawk as you sat down next to Pyramid Head, grabbed a spoonful of food, and brought it to his mouth where he happily ate it. 

"FUCKING WHAT?! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT!" Her voice screeched and reached a pitch you didn't know would bother you. You pulled your ear and noticed out of the corner of your eye that Bubba had pulled his ear and Jason bent his head down. Even Freddy cringed.

"Yes, I am." You continued to feed Pyramid Head with one hand and eat with your other while she stood there fuming. She was looking at Randall who simply shrugged not bothered by what you're doing. He was used to it at this point. 

"He is fully capable of feeding himself. There is no need to waste your time." She was talking to you as if you were an infant not listening to their mother which infuriated you. 

"I am not wasting my time, I am doing something that I both want and as my duty as their nurse. I need you to fully grasp and comprehend what I mean by duties as a nurse." You continued to feed him to give yourself a moment to collect your throats. 

"They don't need a nurse, they need to be executed. They are worse than the dirt and shit I step in. All those people they killed, they enjoyed it." It was dead silent. You paused looking her straight in the eyes with your head tilted. 

"You feel better?" She raised an eyebrow at you. "Do you feel better to get that off your chest? Anything else you want to say?" You gave her a moment and when she said nothing else you continued to talk. "So let's say we kill them, right? You wanted them all dead." You stood up and out of your seat to get a good glance at everyone in the room. "Bang, bang, boom. Now they're all dead. Deceased. Gone." You did a dramatic flare with your hand around her. "Abra Kadabra. Alakazam. Bippity boppity boop." It was dead silent and you looked at her with a sarcastic smile. "Why don't you look at that." She frowned unsure as she looked around at the way everyone was watching you two. 

"What." You got closer to her with a big grin.

"They're still fucking dead. All those people they killed are dead. There's no magic wand, no magic nothing that is going to bring them back. You kill them, guess what? The victims are still. Fucking. Dead. They're locked up in here for a fucking reason and if you can't put aside your pride and try to understand them in here and not judge them for what they did outside so you could do your fucking job then leave." She looked at you in disgust, contempt, and fear. 

"You're the worst human being I've ever met." You laughed in her face at that. 

"Then you really need to get out more." That earned you a few chuckles and she was red in the face ready to speak more when Randall interrupted her.

"Come with me, Ms. Joan. I have seen enough and we have much to discuss." Without too much of a fuss, she scowled at you one more time and exited the cafeteria with Ms. Joan in tow. You huffed and sat back down to continue feeding Pyramid Head. 

"You really do this for a paycheck." You answered rapidly since you were still high-strung on emotions.

"No I don't. For that I wouldn't have moved in here and tried to understand all of you. I want to. I frankly don't give a shit who you were or what you did outside of this asylum. You're all here for very well-known reasons and I knew what I was getting into from the jump. I would like to understand the other parts of you guys. Not just the psychopathic killing aspects. All of you know I'm not lying either so you can;t say that." You glanced at Freddy winking at him. 

"You're so weird." That was Amanda who said that which was a shock. It's the first thing she has said to you besides just calling you meat. 

"I don't think any of you mind." Nothing else was said as you sat there thinking about your crafting projects unaware of the kind of obsession you just planted into all of their heads.
