Until Next Sunday Jin

I woke up that next morning to a soft knock on my door. I pulled my body out of bed and looked through the peep hole...I didn't want to answer the door in my state of dress if it was Tae, but it was Jin. I opened the door and he looked a little flustered in my unprofessional state but smiled at me just the same.

"Breakfast is ready Quinn...I'm sorry if I woke you."

"No don't be...I needed to get up anyway. Give me 15 minutes to wash my face and change into something more appropriate and I'll be down."

"Yes...I never know who wakes up Tae or Taehyung so it may be in your best interest to change into something not so...revealing." He said as he turned a shade of pink.

That's when I realized that my panties were showing slightly under the long shirt I was wearing. I gave him a shy smile and he backed away down the hallway going to the stairs. I quickly washed my face and changed into pajama pants and a bra and tank top. I made my way downstairs and met Yoongi at the top.

"Good morning!"

"Are you a morning person?"

"Honestly not really...the only real reason why I'm up is because Jin said he wanted to do his session after breakfast and he woke me up to tell me to come eat."

"That's a normal thing around here. Jin is always the first to wake up and gets the rest of us up to eat...if we don't come down...then Jinnie throws a tantrum."

"Jinnie?"

"His alter...he'll get in our room and throw a temper tantrum until we roll out of bed...I'd punch him but he's technically a kid in that state of mind...I can't bring myself to punch a kid."

I couldn't help but giggle at his comment and he smiled too. We made our way down to the dining room again only the three of us, and Namjoon there.

"Taehyung and Jungkook take forever to get up, and Hoseok isn't feeling well."

"Where's Jimin?"

"Right here beautiful."

I turned around and the cutest smile I have ever seen greeted me.

"Good Morning."

"Good morning Quinn, how did you sleep?"

"Very well thank you, my bed is very comfortable."

"I knew she'd want the king size bed." He said looking over to Namjoon.

"Hey, who doesn't want a king size bed? I just wasn't sure if she was putting her desk in her room instead of using the spare office. A smaller bed would have made more room."

"Wait you guys decorated my room?"

"Jimin did most of it."

I looked over to Jimin again his smiling face turning a shade of pink.

"I hope you like it."

"It's beautiful...I was very impressed when I first saw it."

He winked at me and went over to the table. My heart fluttered a bit but I shook it off quickly. We started eating as both Taehyung and Jungkook joined us.

"Good morning everyone! Quinn, I hope you slept well."

"I did thank you Jungkook. Good morning to you too Taehyung."

He smiled at me with his boxy smile and sat down at the table with us. We ate breakfast rather quickly and once we were done Jin and I made our way to my office. He seemed a tad uncomfortable...maybe it was nerves.

"Jin?"

"Hmmm?" he hummed with big eyes.

"Breath...everything we talk about here is completely between you and I and I'm not going to judge you on anything you tell me. Would you be more comfortable sitting with me at my desk or on the big comfy chairs over there?" I asked as I pointed to the other side of the small room.

"Comfy chairs please."

As we got comfortable he smiled at me.

"Where are we starting?"

"Well first I'd like to ask you about your alter if that's okay."

He nodded.

"Who is he?"

"The others in the house call him Jinnie. I guess it's fitting since he's me...just...a lot younger."

"Do you and Jinnie have the same thoughts? Do you remember things that happen and things that you do while Jinnie is active?"

"Actually I do. I'm there...I just behave differently and my thoughts are more childlike."

"What kind of things does your alter like to do?"

"I have a chest of toys in my bedroom that he plays with. I also have a..."

He looked at me with an embarrassed expression...whatever he was about to tell me he didn't seem to want to. I smiled at him reassuringly as I watched him swallow hard before he continued.

"I have a few pacifiers that I use when I'm really anxious...and I have adult pull ups for emergencies."

"Have you needed to use them?"

"Not often...but occasionally it's been needed...which is why I got them in the first place."

He seemed to be really uncomfortable talking about this...and I hated making my patients feel uncomfortable...but we needed to talk about it. I needed him to trust me and be comfortable to talk about these things freely. So far he seemed to trust me...and that was good....not everyone is as open to start with.

"So I'm going to ask you a question you may not want to answer...and if you really don't want to you don't have to. But I think it would be beneficial for you to tell me."

He nodded.

"When it IS necessary for you to have them, does anyone...help you?"

He looked down at the ground and I saw a few tears fall from his eyes. He sniffed a few times before he nodded again.

"Good...I'm glad you have someone here that cares for both Jin and Jinnie. Are you comfortable telling me who it is that helps you? Is it one of the maids that work in the house? Or one of the nurses?"

He looked up to meet my eyes, his puffy and pink. More tears fell down his cheeks as he shook his head.

"N-no....it's N-Namjoon."

I wasn't expecting that.

"Namjoon? As in..."

He nodded.

"Jin that's wonderful. How do you feel about him helping you?"

"I hate it." He said with a shaky breath.

"Why?"

"It's s-so embar-ressing. I'm a grown man...I shouldn't have to have anyone help me with that." At this point his head fell in his hands and he was sobbing.

I wanted to console him...I wanted to hug him...but when we were in my office I was their doctor not their friend...and hugging would be inappropriate. I allowed him to cry for a few minutes...crying is therapeutic in itself...it helps relieve tension and it flat out makes you feel better. He calmed down and looked at me again whipping his nose with the back of his hand. I handed him a tissue him thanking me.

"Jin...I want to thank you for being so open with me. I think you've made great progress already and it is only day one. You opening up and being honest shows that you really do want to improve your quality of life. I'd like to go over one more thing before we finish today, I don't want to overwhelm you so I'm not going to go the full two hours."

He looked relieved when I said we weren't going to be there for the full two hours. He whipped his eyes away from all his tears, and he blew his nose. He gained his composure and threw away his used tissue.

"Who is Namjoon to you?"

He looked rather surprised by my question and hesitated to answer at first.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...if Namjoon is the one who helps you...what does he mean to you?"

He looked lost in thought and took a moment before a smile spread across his face.

"He's my best friend...the only one I feel like I can trust. He has always been kind to me...and to...Jinnie. He'll play with him and cuddle him when Jinnie cries...he..." He paused momentarily. "His alter will too."

"Really?"

"Yeah...usually if his alter is active and mine is too his alter will go away and Namjoon will come back...but he doesn't switch back every time. Jinnie calls Namjoon and his alter Joonie." He said with a little laugh.

I smiled at him. "It's good that you have him as your friend...we all need support and you having that support is the key to getting better."

He nodded in agreement and smiled.

"Do you have any questions Jin? This is your time...so you are free to say or ask anything you want."

"Honestly, not right now...it's always hard to tell people about my alter...I'm a grown man and I shouldn't be acting like a child..."

"Why not?"

His head shot up at me with the most confused expression. I guess my question caught him off guard.

"Because I'm not a child anymore..."

"I don't know about you but I can be really childish. I can never pass up a 'that's what she said' comment when someone perfectly sets one up."

We both laughed and he seemed to relax.

"Thank you for meeting with me this morning Jin...I enjoyed our session."

"Surprisingly so did I...I won't lie, I was not looking forward to it."

"And next Sunday?"

"Can't wait." He smiled genuinely.

I walked him to the door and we parted with smiles and he seemed a more light hearted and confident. Until next Sunday Jin.
