secrets and Lies

CHAPTER 2

"Can you believe this, two more murders in four days? Whoever the hell this person is, needs to be stopped. Having dead clients is not very lucrative for my business."

Riccardo's eyes were watching the news report, six of his clients were already dead and he had a feeling that more deaths were about to follow. Whoever this ghost killer was, it's like they were trying to ruin him.

Riccardo was a feared man amongst the people of his kind, he was a formidable force to be reckoned with. No one dare cross him for fear of being on his hit list. So the person the media was calling the ghost killer was asking for war. This guy was calling him out and Riccardo was never one to back down from a challenge. He was going to find the son-of-a-bitch and make him wish he was never born.

He just had to be careful how he go about finding his unknown nemesis because his source in the FBI told him to lay low. The cops were looking at him as a suspect, seeing as out of the ten people that were murdered in the last month, six of them were clients of Giovanni Defence Inc.

A team of his best men were already dispatched to the kill sites and a manhunt of his own was in place to find the son-of-a-bitch dead or alive. Although he rather him alive, so that he could have the pleasure of ending his miserable existence.

"You're not going to get any answers by sitting here flicking from one new report after the next, you're more likely to give yourself a headache."

Michelle Giovanni approached her husband. She stood in front of him blocking his view of the television. A playful smile was displayed on her face and a coy look in her brown eyes. She untied the belt of her silk robe, slowly letting the fabric fall to the ground.

She stood there with her magnificent body on show for Riccardo. His eyes involuntarily followed the robe as it fell, then they slowly travelled up her body taking in ever curve until they reach her face.

His hand came forward of their own accord, grabbing her around the waist pulling her to him. Within seconds, she was thrown on the bed with him on top of her and their lips fused together.

She tangled her hands in his midnight black hair and wrapped her long legs around his waist. Riccardo loved the way her body seems to mould to his and the sweet taste of her lips were driving him crazy.

He ran his hand up her thighs, to her waist then cup her breast in his hand. A soft moan escaped her lips and the grip in his hair got tighter. He gently squeezed her breast again just to her moan and was not disappointed. He moved his lips away from hers and she protested, but rewarded him with one of her soft cries when he playfully nibbled on her ears. It was not long before his body was invoked in heat, he groaned and captured her soft lips again. He loved the way she tasted, like sunshine and forever drizzled with the finest of honey.

He broke the kiss and pulled back from her to look into her eyes. Her lips were swollen from his kiss and her eyes were filled with passion. He took in every detail of her face, filing it away in his memory.

"If I didn't know better I'd think you were trying to distract me."

Michelle laughed.

"Is it working?"

Riccardo dipped his head and took her mouth again then pulled back to look at her.

"Does that answer your question?"

She tangled her hands in his hair again, pulling his head back to hers, but let out a groan when his phone rang.

She shook her head.

"Let it ring, don't answer it."

Riccardo was tempted to do just that, there was nothing more he'd rather do than lose himself in the body of his beautiful wife. However, he was expecting an important phone call from one of his men handling the ghost killer hunt.

He needed to find this person and put an end to them soon. So far his men have come up empty, the person who was committing those murders was good. There was never any prints or anything to indicate that the houses were ever broken into. No one has ever seen or heard anything, it's like the guy just materialised out of thin air, hence the name the ghost killer. Needless to say, Riccardo never believed in ghost and he wasn't about to start. He'd be damned if he let some so called ghost killer get the better of him. He had a job to do and the faster he did it the better.

"I'd like nothing more than to stay here in bed with you watching you come alive and apart in my hands. However, I've got to be at work in the next ten minutes, I've got an important client coming in and the deal needs to be closed today."

Riccardo hated lying to her, but it had to done. She was the one pure thing in his life and he wanted it to stay that way. He had no intention of ever letting her see that evil part of his life. And having her knowing might just put her life in danger. She doesn't know it but had a security team on her at all times. Her life means more to him than anything.

He lean down and place a small kiss on her lips then got up. The sense of loss hit him as he moved away from her. Her hands fell away from him and landed with a soft thud on the bed. She watched him with those soul-searching eyes of hers.

He got his phone out and answered the call.

"Giovanni."

"Boss, I've got something I think you're gonna wanna see."

He cast a look at his wife, who was making her way over to the bathroom. He waited until he heard the shower running before he spoke.

"Does it have something to do with the ghost killer?"

Dennis, the lead man on his team answered.

"No sorry boss, we've reached a dead end on that front but I've got ever man out in the field with theirs to the ground. When something does come up you'll be the first to know."

Riccardo felt the anger surged within him. He desperately wanted to kill someone, but he tampered down his anger. His wife was in the other room, it would not do to let her see him like that.

Rubbing the vein at his temple, he asked.

"What's this about then, Dennis?"

He hoped it was something good, preferable something or someone he could take his anger out on.

"We've found Kenny Rigs."

Just those few words had Riccardo jumping into action.

"I'll meet you at the warehouse in twenty."

He ended the call and turned to the sound of his wife entering the room, with a towel that left nothing to the imagination wrapped around her.

"Who was that?"

Michelle asked, using the towel wrapped around her head to dry her unruly curls. She let the one wrapped around her body fall to the ground and padded over to the walk in closet. However, she never made it very far before strong hands came around her waist, pulling her against muscular chest.

"Woman, are you trying to make me late?"

Michelle giggled.

"Why ever would you think that?"

Riccardo laughed and took her lips with his, but not before saying.

"A swear one day you'll be the death of me."

+++++++++++++

Michelle checked the time on her watch and cursed. She was going to be late for her class. She was never late for her classes or anything for that matter. She smiled as she remembered her reason for being late. Her husband. She spent the better part of the morning in his arms.

Riccardo was her life, she'd do anything for him, even die. He give her a love she never thought possible. The way she was brought up was void of love or any affection of any sort. She grow up in a dog eat dog world, it was every man for himself and that was all she knew until she met Riccardo. He showed her that she was beautiful inside and out, that she didn't had to let her pass define her. He made her believe that she can be more than what she was raised to be and she loved him for that.

She grabbed her supplies and headed out the door to her car. She located it right where she parked it the day before and got in. She was hoping to beat the traffic on her way to work, but from the looks of it she was going stuck in traffic for some time.

Her phone rang and she answered it, putting it on loud speaker. You can never be too careful.

"This is Michelle."

The voice on the other line of the phone startled her.

"Michelle, I need to see you."

Michelle did not like the sound of that. Craig never called her out right, something serious must have happened.

"I've got a class full of students waiting for the arrival of their teacher, can't this wait until after I've finish?"

She heard Craig say something to someone who she guess was his boss.

"Sorry Shelly, but it's got to be now."

Michelle clenched her jaw together and gripped the steering wheel tight.

"I'll be there in five, oh and Craig... never call me that again."

She didn't wait for him to respond, she ended the call and threw the phone on the seat beside her. She looked around to make sure the cost was clear before she swerved the car around and headed in the opposite direction.

As Michelle drove off, she knew that whatever Craig wanted with her wasn't going to be good and somehow she knew it had something to do with her husband.
