Rebuilding The Ship

Your POV

Getting to where the Jawas were, it was already morning. They spot us as they're working on trading everything they've salvaged. Kuiil raises his hand as he waves. Speaking in Jawa "Greetings."

As we get closer to them the Jawas raise their blasters at Mando. Kuiil glances back at us for a moment. "They really don't like you for some reason."

"He did disintegrate a  few of them."

Looking up at the side of their vehicle, a couple of them open the windows and look out at us. I look over at the rest of the Jawas outside of the vehicle as one makes a noise and waves his arms.

Kuiil turns slightly to us and looks at Mando. "You need to drop your rifle."

"I'm a Mandalorian, weapons are part of my religion."

"Then you're not getting your parts back."

Mando sighs before he puts it down, muttering a 'fine.' Kuiil gets off the Blurrg after he stops it and I get up from the cargo hovercart and walk over with Kuiil. The jawa points at his own gun before pointing at the Mando.

"And the blaster."

He puts it down before the Jawa starts to speak again.

"They will trade all the parts for the beskar."

"They're my parts, they stole them from me"

He speaks in Jawa, horribly. "They, they... belong... to me!"

They laugh at him, as one speaks up. "You speak terrible Jawa, You sound like a Wookie!"

"You understand this?" he asks as he uses his flamethrower. Kuiil and I pull him away for a moment as they scream.

"Whoa, easy, easy."

"he is a Mandalorian, he cannot trade his armor. What else may he trade?"

They point to the little one and we turn to see them touching him.

"Get away from it!"

I get up and walk over to him and pick him up, keeping him with me while they watch him.

"There must be something else."

They huddle and talk amongst themselves for a moment before they turn around.

"We will require The Egg, Bring us the Egg."

"The Egg?" I ask for a moment as Kuiil sighs.

They chant 'the egg' over and over as we make our way to go get whatever the egg was they were wanting so bad. Climbing aboard their vehicle, we make out way to a different area before they open the doors. Letting us out as the child follows in his bassinet. Following Mando I sigh gently for a moment.

"Where are we even going? What are they talking about?"

He stops as he finds a large hole in the side of a rock. Tilting my head I look at him to see him grab his blaster and go inside. I stay outside with the child and shrug for a moment. It's quiet as he goes inside and looks around, until there's a couple of blaster fires and he's thrown from the hole. Helping him up a large alien with a horn at the end of his head comes out of the cave. Mando tries to get his rifle ready, but it jams and he's thrown again.

The monster turns and sees us for a moment charging at us before Mando makes the bassinet move. Watching it smack the wall behind us I sigh gently. "Not used to fighting in the mud, mando?"

He grunts as the alien comes back over and shoves him into the mud some more, before he gets thrown again after using the flamethrower and using a grappling hook on it. Watching the Mando get thrown and then not move again, I shake my head gently. Grabbing the electric whip from my hip, I get ready to deal with the alien.

"Come on,"

Using the whip and hearing it roar in pain, I get it off of me long enough to shoot it. It's unphased by the ion blaster I carry for a moment, before the Mando sits up, with a toothpick of a knife in his hand.

It starts to charge at us again, before it starts to float. Looking at each other for a moment, we turn to see that the child is doing it. Without even touching it, his eyes are closed tight as his arm is raised. Watching it pick up the mudhorn before putting it back down, giving us time to finish it off and it falls over.

Mando gets up with a groan and grabs his knife from the mudhorn. Rolling the whip up and putting it on my hip again I walk over to him.

"Your chestplate as seen some better days."

He gives a slight nod as he looks at me. His head turns slightly as he looks over at the child, now passed out in the bassinet.

"I think he tuckered himself out."

"What did he do?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe Kuiil knows."

Going into the cave we find a mud caked, furry egg? Picking it up with a shrug we make our way back to where the Jawas were at. Kuiil is at the end of their vehicle as their cargo ramp was closing. He sees us and starts waving his arms and yelling. The Jawas stop what they're doing and turn around, celebrating as Mando has the egg they wanted for his ship parts.

"I'm surprise you waited."

"I'm surprised you took so long."

"Mando here apparently can't fight in mud."

He shakes his head as the Jawas go to town on the egg we got. Getting the parts back we start hauling them to where the Razor Crest was. The little one still asleep in his bassinet.

"Was it injured?"

"I don't think so, not physically."

"Explain it to me again."

We explain what happened to the Ugnaught again and he shakes his head. "That doesn't make any sense."

Nodding slightly we get the ship back in order, hearing the wonderful sound of her engines starting again and I smile behind the mask.

"Good girl." I mumble to myself as I help Kuiil pack up his tools. Mando comes down the cargo ramp and looks at Kuiil.

"I could use a crew member with your abilities, and I can pay handsomely."

Kuiil looks up at him, "I am honored. but I have worked a lifetime to finally be free of servitude."

"I understand. then all I can offer is my thanks."

"I thank you as well, both of you."

Kuiil looks to me as he waves, I give a small one back as I stand up and get the rest of everything ready to go for him to head home. Getting into the Razor Crest as Mando would give me a lift to my ship, Kuiil waves again as he gets ready to head out.

"And good luck with the child, may it survive and bring you a handsome reward. I have spoken."
