Meeting the Client
After my shower, I get out, drying my hair. I walk to my huge walk-in closet picking a nice dress out that's not fancy but also looks like it could be used to go to a business meeting. I slip into the long black dress with a slit up the side that stops right above my knee, then put on some silver shoes with a diamond bracelet that my mother had bought me. I step out of my room, walking down the curled stairs towards the front door.
"Your gonna knock them dead in that. He won't be able to take his eyes off you," my dad says while smiling at me.
"Who won't?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Dad smiles as he stands by the front door "My client, Dominic McNeil. He is one of my top clients that uses my services quite a bit."
"That's the one you have told us about before. He is the King of his Empire. They have top-of-the-line guns along with a ton of equipment that a lot of people buy from them. They have a section of their house that is just for their business only," Raymond chimes in.
"Yeah, they are self-made billionaires. He and his two brothers run everything now that his parents retired a few years ago," my dad adds.
"Isn't he like thirty?" Ray asks.
"No, he is twenty-six. His brothers are twenty-four and twenty-two. They are a force to be reckoned with, seeing how they are the most powerful family alive right now. No one crosses them; no one challenges them either. What they say goes where no one that I have ever run across questions them. If someone crosses them, they call me," he says, pointing at himself.
"So why did I need to dress this nice then? I could have just put on a nice summer dress or something?" I ask.
Dad's eyes flash with something, then he walks towards the opened door. We get into our limo, where it drives us to this huge mansion out in the middle of hundreds of acres.
"Holy cow, this is about as big as ours, if not bigger. They are l powerful family to own this; it's a fortress-like our house," I say as we drive through one set of big iron gates.
My dad looks at me. "Yeah, they have over one hundred guards stations around this house."
Ray chimes in, "So you can't get in here without an invite, huh?"
Dad shakes his head. "No, they will kill you on the spot if they haven't invited you to the house."
Our limo pulls up to another set of closed gates where ten men stand there with guns pointing at the window. Dad rolls the window down, showing them who he is as they lower their guns, nodding to the gateman to open the gates. The limo rolls up to the front door, where we get out. A butler opens the front door motioning us to walk in. A beautiful set of white tile is all over the grand entrance as a staircase that goes up then splits off into both directions winding back around above us. We take those stairs to a huge set of wooden doors as the butler knocks.
A deep male voice comes from behind the door, "Come in."
The butler pushes the doors open to sweep his arm out for us to walk into a huge office.
As my father walks in, a young man sits behind the desk who rises to greet him. Two other men are sitting on the couch also rise to greet my dad.
"Ah, Mr. Williams. Welcome. We have been expecting you. Who are these two charming people you have brought with you today? You know our meetings are private," he says in a commanding voice.
My dad stands tall in the room while looking at the man behind the desk. "These are my children Dom. This is Abigail, and that is Raymond. Abigail is next in line to my empire, so I thought it would be nice if you met my replacements coming here eventually. We do so much business together that one day you will have to use them when I retire."
Dominic looks shocked as he stares at my father. "Your daughter is next in line to be the heir of your empire? How old is she?"
I step forward to look at the man that looks like he could snap iron with his eyes. "I'm twenty-four, sir. I'm also a very highly trained assassin just like my father."
My dad looks at me with a mean look "Abby. That's enough. You need to learn how to speak when in the presence of a client."
I glare at my dad. "He acted like I wasn't good enough to take over your empire. He had sarcasm dripping out of his mouth when he said it. If he wants my respect, then he will also show it."
One of the men sitting on the couch speaks up. "Damn man, she has balls."
Dom looks over at his brother. "Brian, enough. I am sorry, it just took me by surprise that your daughter would take over your empire."
"It is usual that a woman would take over a thing like that. She is just as good as me but getting better every day with more training," my dad says.
Dominic offers us to sit down in the chairs that are in the office. We sit where I notice none of the three men have taken their eyes off me for one second.
"Can I ask you to come to our shooting range with me and take a few rounds?" Brian asks.
I look at him and smile. "I would be honored to."
Dominic looks at all of us with an icy stare. "After the meeting. Nowhere is who we are after this time. He owes us a ton of money but has gone into hiding. He is in this city, but we can't find him. My men have been looking for months" he slides my dad a picture.
"So he is in Rio? I can find him, no problem there," my dad says with a smile.
"I also need your hacker to find his accounts for me. I need whatever money he has in there transferred to this account," he says as he slides a paper towards him.
My dad takes the paper then hands it to Raymond. He nods while sticking it in his inside coat pocket.
Dominic looks at Raymond. "Ah, so this is your world-famous hacker."
Ray nods while giving him an amused smirk. "Yes, that is part of what I handle for dad."
"He is also trained just like me. My kids have done several small jobs for me at times to show how good they really are" my dad smiles as he says this.
Dominic slides an envelope stuffed with money to my dad "So our usual price for the job?"
My dad nods. "Yes, as long as I don't run into any massive problems. Give me a week to where it should be done. I will leave in two days; my daughter's graduation is tomorrow, so there is no way I can't miss that."
Brian speaks up, "Where are you graduating from?"
"Harvard with straight A's honors," I add, "also a Master's degree in Business Management."
Wow, congratulations." Dominic says, "That's a good college to go to then also on your achievement. How did you get your degree so fast?"
"I was taking AP classes in my junior and senior year of high school. I went to college with eight credits then straight into my main course. I thought about a doctorate, but I want a break from college, so I can help run dad's business better," laying my arms on the soft leather of the chair that I am sitting in.
My dad puffs out his chest. "If she could have graduated in the tenth grade, they would have let her. She had finished all her courses where she was in all honor classes. They said she had to be seventeen to graduate, so she just did the courses she had to then went into college courses also."
"Very impressive," Dominic smiles " Smart, strong-willed along with being a gorgeous woman you have there, Jason."
"Yes, and we are very proud of her and all her accomplishments," he says with a huge smile.
Brian stands up. "Ok. shooting range time. What gun would your like?"
"How many stations do you have down there?" I ask.
Six, why?" Brian asks.
"Choose six different guns, putting one in each station. I will shoot all stations with a different gun," I tell him.
The guys tilt their heads as they look at me.
He looks at Dom. "Bro? Can I set her up with our finest?"
Dom nods. "Yeah, go ahead. I want to see what she has."
Brian disappears while we stand up from our seats; Dominic walks over to me, offering me his arm. I smile and take it as he escorts me through the house taking side glances at me the entire way. We reach an elevator where he swipes a card. We step in, and he pushes a button with R on it. We descend the shaft quickly, where the doors open into a huge shooting range room.
"Do you need more comfortable clothes to shoot in?" Dominic asks.
"I usually don't shoot in a dress, but I'll be fine. Thank you," I say as I let go of his arm.
We step into a glass viewing room where Brian comes back in smiling ear to ear.
He hands me a set of earplugs. "Ok, your all set."
"Do the targets move, or are they stationary?" I ask.
"They move if you need them to," Dominic says.
"Then set them for random motion," looking into his dark brown eyes.
I step out of the viewing area, moving to the first station. All eyes are glued on me.
My dad steps up beside me then whispers, "Remember, baby. Breathe, focus and eyes up."
"Yes, daddy, I remember," giving him a small nod of my head.
He walks away to where I can take my position at the first target. Arms at my side waiting for the buzzer to go off, the targets start to move, then the buzzer sounds. I grab the gun, firing all rounds. Moving from station to station, unloading each gun at the targets.
Inside the viewing, room Brain asks, "So Jason, is your daughter seeing anyone?"
Raymond jumps in. "No! She better not be. They have to be approved by me."
My dad calms him down. "Ray enough. He is correct, though. Ray has run off most of the guys who have tried to date her."
Dominic looks at my brother. "Ok, Raymond, what does it take to date your sister?"
Brian steps up, giving a harsh look at his brother "Naw man, your not......."
Dom whips out his gun, pointing it in his brother's face.
"I can, and I will. I'm the head of this household, so what I say goes. Remember that?" he says sternly.
"But..." Brian protests.
"But nothing," Dominic says; he turns back to my father. "Sorry, so what is the answer to the question."
Raymond steps up. "He can't be a gold digger, which of course, your family is not. I require that he respect her; she will be a Queen of my dad's empire one day. Also, she has to put her first in everything. If she wants to leave the country with dad, she can with no questions asked. If she wants to hang out with her friends, she's allowed. No one can tie her down thinking she belongs to them. If they put a ring on it, that's different. Until then, she is free along with being an independent woman."
Dominic smiles. "I think I can work under those circumstances. Raymond, would you object to me taking her out on a date?"
"Dominic, I've known you for years and your father before you. I would be ok with it; you know how to treat women. I will warn you, though" dad takes a threatening step towards Dominic then points at his crotch. "That stays exactly where it is with her. If she wants to go further, she will let you know. She's not a one-night stand, nor will she be taken advantage of in that way. Do I make myself clear?"
Dominic nods. "Of course. I'm not a man whore. Yes, I have had women in the past, but a woman worth respect gets all my respect if not more."
Ray smiles. "Good answer, man. She's not a virgin either, but she is my sister first, my queen second where I would die protecting her."
"We both would," dad says " She is our family jewel being everything to us."
"She would also have to say yes to that too. She is very picky with who she goes out with," Ray says with a smirk.
Just then, I finish collecting the targets. I walk into the room, where it falls dead silent.
"Let's see, sis. How did you do?" Ray says as he takes the targets out of my hands.
We spread the targets out on a table that is in the room where they were standing watching.
Dominic's eyes go wide as he looks at them. "Damn, she's as good as you said. Wait! Why is this one done like a star?"
I smile. "I like to mix things up when I get bored. Yeah, I can hit dead center every time. See, I did a star here, then on this one, a happy face. Ray and I have competitions where we do different shapes to enhance our shooting skills.
Dominic looks at me. "I'm very impressed. How did you like the guns we provided?"
"They were top of the line, that's for sure. I loved the sniper with that high-tech scope. Does it have night vision on it where you can switch to that when it's needed?" pointing to the gun sitting in the third bay.
"Yes, it does; if you want it, it's yours," he says with a smile.
"Really, how much?" looking back at the gun then into his eyes.
"Call it a gift. I would like for you to have it. It's probably better than the ones you have at your house," he says.
I smile while blushing at the same time. "Yes, it is. I was going to ask if I could purchase it. It shoots very smooth but is also very powerful."
He points to it, "Go get it to take it with you then."
I walk out, pick it up, drop the clip then walk back into the room. I lay it on the table, grabbing the cleaning gear that is on the table. I break it down real quick, making sure to clean it really good.
Brian says, "Yeah, we can see she's your daughter. She knows her way around guns for sure."
"Raymond, would you like to a shot at the range? Brian, go get him another sniper, then put it in the place where hers was," Dominic says.
Raymond smiles big "Sure; I can't have my sister showing me up like that, now can I?"
As he walks out, getting ready to shoot, I finish cleaning the gun putting it back together.
Dominic steps up to me, laying his hand on the gun for a second. "You were amazing out there."
I smile as the last few pieces slide back into place. "Thank you. Maybe one day we can go head to head?"
"When your brother finishes, we can. I have a couple of extra handguns here to where we will do three targets each," he says as he opens a safe, laying out multiple guns.
I reach down under my slit and pull out a handgun that I have on me. He smiles big.
"May I see it?" He asks.
I hand it to him, but he pulls the one he has on him and hands it to me. I look at him; it is lighter with being a whole lot better quality than mine. It is lightweight and perfectly balanced.
"Very nice," I say. "I like that one a lot too."
He nods to the targets. "Beat me in there; then it's yours."
I look at the gun, pointing to his initials. "Yours is engraved."
He chuckles. "I'll give you a brand new one. We make these to where I will show you the weapons room as soon as we are finished squaring off."
I give him a huge smile while we wait for my brother to finish.
