Chapter 3| Recovery

"Great!!" Sting said, sarcastically. "Just great!! It's almost the second week and someone almost died!!" Sting walked around in circles with his hands in his hair.

"Hey Sting..." His friend, Rogue, said, getting Sting's attention. "WHAt?! WHat?! I'm panicking over here!" Sting said, loudly. Rogue rolled his eyes and continued, "I think your friend is waking up." Rogue pointed to the twitching girl on the bed.

"Wendy!! Why is she twitching?!" Sting asked, looking at (Y/N). Wendy sat up from her spot and looked at (Y/N). "I believe she's having a bad dream..." Wendy said, using her magic. She then widened her eyes as she saw (Y/N)'s heart rate rise. "Sting! Wake her up!" Wendy commanded Sting.

Sting nodded and shook (Y/N), hard. Finally, (Y/N) fluttered her (Eye Color) colored eyes opened and gasped for air. She looked all over the room in a panic. "Where is he?!" (Y/N) cried. "Where'd he go?!"

Sting furrowed his eyebrow and looked at (Y/N) with confusion. "Who?" (Y/N) then stared at the wall then looked around the room. "Sorry. I had a nightmare..." (Y/N) then tried to sat up, but was brought down by the strong pain that she had. She winced in pain and tried to use her magic energy to heal herself, but failed.

"(Y/N)-San, you are completely drained of magic energy and in a weakened state. I fully suggest that you rest right now." Wendy said to (Y/N), giving her a spoonful of medicine. "Are you sure?" (Y/N) asked, suddenly feeling drowsy. Wendy smiled at (Y/N) and nodded at her.

'Damn you Jackal! I'm gonna get you for this!!' (Y/N) thought angrily. She then turned the other way to rest and slept.

"I worry for her." Wendy said with her eyebrows furrowed. "Why is that?" Rogue looked at her for her answer. "Well, when I was healing her, her distress level was high, meaning something is troubling her. I'm not sure what is troubling her though." Wendy explained to both Sting and Rogue.

"Sting, didn't you say you scared the guy away? What did it look like?" Rogue asked, turning his chair over to Sting. "Well, he had animal-like features." Sting said, trying to remember how he looked like by walking in circles. "What do you mean by that?" Wendy turned her head.

Sting stopped walking at looked at Wendy. "He had ears, tails, furry legs, and black spots everywhere. It's like he was a big walking cat, but... More in like a demon way."

"A demon?" Rogue asked and completely went into thought. "Why would a demon try to kill (Y/N)?" Rogue asked, his hands on his chin. "I don't know... Demons are evil?" Sting said. Wendy then gasped. "Mira is not evil!" Wendy huffed and crossed her arms. "I know she isn't. She's a nice demon, but we're talking about the that almost killed (Y/N)." Sting replied to Wendy.

Wendy was about to reply to Sting, but was interrupted by a knock at the door. Wendy went over and opened the door. Her frown was washed away into a smile and greeted the person. "Erza-San!"

Fuming with anger, Jackal opened the guild doors and walked inside passing Guild members. "What's wrong with him?" Guild members questioned. "I dunno."

He then went inside Mard's office and slammed the door closed. Mard looked up to Jackal from his book and closed it. He crossed his legs and narrowed his eyes at Jackal.

"Why are you here? You're supposed to trigger her." Mard said to Jackal. Jackal growled and slammed his fists onto the desk. "Why are you making me do this?"

"I can't keep doing that to her! You're ruining her mission and I!!" Jackal yelled, angrily, slamming his gloved fists to the ground. He got the desk and threw it over out of anger. He then started to destroy the desk.

"So it seems you have a little weak spot for her, hmm?" Mard turned to Jackal, questioning him. Jackal was lost for words since he went pink and just gave Mard a glare. "And, I am making you do this because I want her inner demon to spark."

"What?! Demon?! You mean... When did you?" Jackal exclaimed with his eyes widened and his mouth opened in surprise. Mard smirked and got up from his chair. He walked over to Jackal who tripped over from the remains of the desk.

"When she was a little child." Mard said, looking down at Jackal. A smirk was still plattered over Mard's face. Jackal then turned around and looked down. "How horrid it was for her then..."

"Sadly, she was unconscious, so I didn't get to hear the screams of that child. Lamy worked with me on that child."

"What'd you guys do on her? What exactly did you implanted on her?" Jackal asked Mard. "We..."

"Natsu!!!" yelled a Young Woman who had medium-length blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, and wore a witch costume. She jogged up to the pink-headed boy who was to concentrate on something else. "What happened?"

"Huh? Oh Hi Luce. It's just... I thought... I caught a scent of someone familiar, but it can't be..." Natsu said, looking at Lucy. "Who?" Lucy asked, now concerned.

Natsu then shook his head. "Nevermind." Natsu then walked the other way. "My nose is screwing me up from all of smoke. It's nothing."

"Oh ok if you say so..." Lucy said worriedly. Lucy then went inside the building and looked at the burned walls and furniture. She then went into a hallway and saw that there used to be windows in this area. "Oh geez." Lucy coughed. "I wonder how this building caught on fire."

She then remembered a huge wall use to be in that building, but now it was just a burned down opened wall. Lucy walked through the wall and saw how it was more destructive.

"I can't tell if this was also burned or someone fought here." Lucy said, looking at all of the damage. "Did anyone even bother to check all of this?" Lucy said, looking at blood marks on the concrete floor.

She sighed and saw her breathe through the cold air. "Damn I didn't even pay attention to how cold it is." Lucy said, buttoning up her long black coat.

Lucy then spotted something at the corner of her eye. "Huh?" Thanks to the moon shining so bright that night, Lucy happened to find something glowing. By the blood marks was a golden necklace.

Lucy furrowed her eyebrows and opened the necklace and found a picture of a family. "Aww. Someone must've drop it." Lucy said, frowning. "I hope I get to find the owner."

She looked over at the necklace and gasped. "Is that Macao?!" Her chocolate brown eyes were glued to the man standing next to the woman and child. "No! It can't be, but..." Lucy squeezed her eyes tight and thought of what to do.

"Maybe Natsu knows about this!" Lucy ended her thoughts and ran out of that area and tried to find Natsu, but with all of the military around, it was difficult. She ran through the crowd, but stopped when she bumped into someone familiar.

"Gray!" Lucy said in surprise. "I didn't know you were still around!" Lucy faced towards the tall, dark blue headed boy and smiled. "Hey Lucy. I was just looking at all the damages." Gray replied to Lucy.

"Anyways, do you know where Natsu went?!" Lucy asked Gray. Gray's smile then turned into a frown. "Ugh... Flame-Brain. I don't know where he went." Gray said, looking the other way. "Maybe destroying another building..."

"Wait, you think Natsu burned the building?!" Lucy asked Gray. They were now walking through the crowd together and were headed towards a large castle in front of their view. "I know that when Natsu gets mad, he explodes. And that's what happened. He exploded the building." Gray said to Lucy.

"But that's something else. Natsu wouldn't explode the building out of anger. He knows not to do that when there is people inside the building. He wouldn't hurt them." Lucy said to Gray. Gray rose his eyebrow and said, "Why are you defending Natsu." Lucy turned to him and said, "Because he's my friend."

"Fine. Fine. I'll believe you." Gray said, putting his arms up in defence. After minutes of light blinding, Gray turned to Lucy and saw something glowing. "What's that you got?" Gray asked Lucy.

"I found this under the rubble. That's why I asked you if you've seen Natsu." lucy said looking at it. "There's a picture inside of a family and one of them looks familiar..."

Lucy then gave Gray the necklace and said, "You should see for yourself."

Gray looked at it and opened it. His eyes widened as he looked over the picture. "That's Macao!!" Gray yelled, causing Lucy to jump. "I thought he had only one marriage." Lucy said, looking at the picture with Gray.

Gray shook his head. "No. He had two marriage in which he divorced in one." Gray said to Lucy. "Damn. After all these years, she's alive." Gray smiled, thinking of what would happen in the future.

"What do you mean by that?" Lucy asked. "You see everyone here?" Gray asked, making Lucy nod. "Well, Macao was married once to that woman named Maria. They had a child together and her name was (Y/N). Soon after Macao joined Fairy Tail, Romeo's mother, Enno joined the guild. I guess Macao had a crush on Enno and you.. Um... know the rest. Maria found out and they divorced." Gray explained to Lucy.

"I never knew any of that. Wow." Lucy said. "That's not all, Maria's guild was assassinated and they found every members, except (Y/N)'s, bodies. And right now, I think you just proved that (Y/N)'s alive." Gray said to Lucy. "But what if this is Macao's?" Lucy asked.

"Macao wasn't at that area." Gray said. They walked through the gates of the castle after being approved by the guards. They opened the large doors and walked inside. "Lucy-San!" Wendy ran up to them and gave them hugs. "Gray-San!"

"Hey Wendy! What's up?" Lucy greeted Wendy. "The ceiling. Why?"

January 16, X791

(Y/N) opened her eyes to see everything blurry around her. She gasped for air as she felt as if she was on fire. She heard mumbling, but couldn't hear what it was saying. She suddenly felt dizzy.

She felt the fire die down and saw that her vision was getting clearer and better. She saw Wendy next to her and asked, "What's happening to me?"

"You have a really bad fever. I'm not sure why though. You were fine recovering from your injuries, but then this happened." Wendy said, putting a wet cloth on (Y/N)'s forehead. "Oh."

(Y/N) then turned the other way and saw Sting sitting down on a chair next to her bed, asleep. "What's Sting doing here?" (Y/N) asked. "Oh, he's been here all day. He's really worried about you, (Y/N)."

"Why? I'm just his personal maid." (Y/N) sighed, turning to Wendy. "You're not just his personal maid, you're his friend." Wendy said to (Y/N), making her smile. "Thanks Wendy."

-

"I think my fever is going away." (Y/N) said, getting the cloth out of her forehead. Wendy pressed her palm against (Y/N)'s forehead and gasped. "How can it go away so quickly? That's incredible!" Wendy said.

"I feel like running the whole castle, Wendy. Is that bad?" (Y/N) looked to Wendy. She widened her eyes and said, "I think you got a fever because you have too much magic power. Let me check you again."

Wendy used her healing magic and gasped. "Er... (Y/N)... What kind of magic do you use?" Wendy asked, slightly looking over to (Y/N). "I..um... use Illusion, Shadow, and Memory-Make..."

She then looked at (Y/N) wide eyed. "How long did you train?!" Wendy said, surprised. "About... 7 years." (Y/N) replied. "Why? What's wrong??" (Y/N) asked, worriedly. "You have so much magic power inside you!! Like tons!!"

"Why are you guys yelling?" Sting said, rubbing his eyes. "(Y/N) has too much magic power." Wendy replied to Sting. "It's cool!"

Sting walked over to (Y/N) and pressed his palm against her forehead. "Well, you're fever got down. That's awesome."

-

After thanking Wendy for her help, you went with Sting to catch up on things. "What happened when I was resting?"

"Well since you were resting for 3 days straight... Nothing really happened except for that whole incident. Security everywhere has been lifted. Nobody seems to believe me that I saw a demon." Sting said as he put his arms behind his neck. (Y/N) suddenly felt uncomfortable when Sting said Demon.

Sting turned to you. "You were there! It was a demon right?" Sting asked you, his hands gripping on your shoulder. You didn't want Jackal's identity to be out, but for Sting, you nodded. "YES! I WAS RIGHT!!" Sting yelled, running outside with his arms up in the air.

"Shut Up, Sting. You're too loud." Rogue said, then sighed. Rogue sat on a bench outside of the castle reading a book. "IN YOUR FACE ROGUE!!!" Sting yelled in front of Rogue's face then purposely dropping his book to the ground.

"That's nothing to be excited though..." You said as you walked down the stairs. "Demons are bad news."

"Oh, (Y/N). You're awake." Rogue said, his eyes narrowing at the maid in front of him. "Aren't you supposed to be cleaning?"

Sting faced him with a annoyed face. "She's my personal maid. Not yours and I want her here with me." Sting said, crossing his arms. "Well damn! Sorry! You don't need to get worked up on it!" Rogue said, his arms up in defence.

"Hmpf." (Y/N) crossed her arms and looked the other way. "Since you're here, how are your wounds?" Rogue asked (Y/N), gently. "Oh, I'm feeling much better thanks." (Y/N) gave Rogue a quick smile. Rogue smiled and nodded.

Suddenly, a hand touched (Y/N)'s shoulder, making her tense up. "Maiden (Y/N). I would like you to come with me." A deep woman's voice was heard behind (Y/N). (Y/N) turned to see the owner of the hand, which was a woman. She had long scarlet hair and brown eyes. She wore armory for torso, a blue skirt, and boots.

It was Erza Scarlet herself. "E-Erza." (Y/N) stuttered. (Y/N) then cursed herself for stuttering, but she wasn't the only one nervous. "I-It's Erza!" Sting said, hiding behind Sting. Rogue let out a scream and shook up. "But wait, isn't Lady Minerva scarier?" Sting asked, his nervousness vanishing.

"Yes, but she isn't here anymore, so Erza is now the scariest one." Rogue replied, his hand open for gesturing. "Oh right." With that said, Sting and Rogue got back into their shaken state.

How could (Y/N) not possibly know Erza Scarlet. She's been finding and arresting assassins everywhere. Fighting back crime and helping others.

(Y/N) then nodded and followed after Erza. "Sting, if you don't mind, I'll be needing (Y/N) for a while." Erza said, turning to Sting. Sting nodded quickly and watched as (Y/N) and Erza walk away.

"Now, (Y/N), do you know why you're here?" Erza asked, sitting down on a chair. (Y/N), who sat in front of her, shook her head. "Well, just three days ago, there were unknown explosions in an area that a party was being held. Do you know about that?" Erza said, taking a sip from her tea.

"Yes..." (Y/N) said, alarmed. "I've also heard that there was a suspect that could be linked to this, but unsure." Erza said looking at (Y/N) with sharp eyes. "What's my point in this?" (Y/N) said, receiving a laugh from Erza. "You, I like you."

"Anyways, we're thinking that demons has been causing all of this unfortunate to this century. They're causing all of this mischief, murdering innocent people, and ruining the beauty of the world." Erza spoke with her hand clutching the tea cup. "And this is where I need your help."

(Y/N) looked at Erza and took a sip of her tea. "I'm listening..."

"Since you got attacked by someone or something, I want you to tell me how he or she looked like." Erza ordered, getting out a piece of paper and something to write with.

"Well..." (Y/N) began. 'Sorry, Jackal.' (Y/N) then spoke to Erza detailed information about her attacker. Erza nodded at what (Y/N) said and wrote bullet points about the person.

"I see..." Erza said, rubbing her chin and looking over the paper. "Is that all?" Erza asked with her brown eyes on (Y/N). "No. That's everything." (Y/N) said then sighing.

"Alright. Thank you for everything, (Y/N). I'll ask for your request if something comes up." Erza said to (Y/N) smiling. She opened the door to (Y/N) and closed it after her.

(Your P.O.V)

I sighed as I walked down tons of stairs. We met inside Erza's apartment outside of the kingdom and It'll be a heck of a walk from to the castle.

Thank gosh I had changed clothes before coming here or else I'll just be a walking around looking weird. I was still surprised over Erza's remarks.

I still felt bad about telling Jackal off to Erza, but that bastard deserved it. He attacked me with no good reason, like what the heck?! How dare he?!

In anger, I punched a nearby tree making it fall, causing people's attention towards me. "Sorry." I sighed and continued walking.

"I just hope things go best in the future."
