Chapter 10|Not What She Seems

"D-Dad?" The spiky, blonde hair male whispered as he made his way into his fathers room.

The room was occupied with Nurses, Doctors, and maids. The curtains and windows were open, meaning that the fresh morning air could be felt.

"S-Son..." Weisslogia coughed on his word as he heard Sting's voice. He tried to sit up, but the doctors gently pushed him back. "Don't overwhelm yourself, dad." Sting said in a worried tone and kneeled beside his bed, holding his father's hand. "S-Son..."

The (Hair Colored) haired female gasped at the sight of the extremely paled king. Weisslogia then started to whisper to Sting. "I-I'm losing it Sting. I'm not going to live forever... s-so... I want the ceremony to happen already."

"What ceremony?"

Weisslogia coughed and looked at Sting with tired eyes. "The wedding." Sting's eyes widened and nodded.

"I wish to speak more about this to you. Please tell everyone to leave. This is private."

Everyone went out of the room except for the two. As (Y/N) stood there, turned to one of the doctors and asked, "What are his symptoms?"

The doctor seemed hesitant to reply, but gestured her to speak outside of the room. "He is heavily sick with a virus that cannot be cure. Never in my years of being a doctor, seen his conditions. We tried to heal him with magic, but we cannot do so. The virus is fighting back at the magic and it doesn't look too good... It's unnatural." The doctor explained to (Y/N). "I see... perhaps... I can try to heal him?"

The doctor lightened up a bit and nodded. "Although, I warn you. Be very careful as you heal him. He is delicate at the moment."

Sting opened the door for them to go back in. (Y/N) nodded and followed the doctor back into the room. (Y/N) saw a blue heart gleaming from Sting and noticed his sadden state. 'The blue heart... he's in distress.' She then turned to Weisslogia and expected to see a blue heart as well. Instead, a green heart was gleaning. 'Green heart?'

(Y/N) was confused on what the color meant. Her mother taught her the colors of the hearts through healing magic. Yellow meant love, Blue meant distress and heartbroken, Red meant anger, purple meant sadness, and black meant powerful. She never taught (Y/N) green and other colors.

(Y/N) walked over to Weisslogia's bed side and looked down upon him. Weisslogia's weak eyes gazed at (Y/N) and said weakly, "Y-You've changed..." Sting turned to (Y/N) and his father was right.

Instead of wearing a short sleeved dress, she wore a long sleeve maid dress with a turtleneck. "Ah... yes. I changed my dress." (Y/N) replied with a bit nervousness in her tone. Weisslogia gave her a weak smile and said, "It's beautiful."

(Y/N) smiled and kneeled beside Sting. "Weisslogia, may I have your permission to try to heal your condition with my healing magic." Weisslogia nodded at (Y/N)'s words.

(Y/N) opened her palms and hovered them over Weisslogia's body. She closed her eyes and concentrated on healing him. As she concentrated, blue lights glowed under her hands and sparkles fell onto his body.

Everyone in the room was amazed at her ability of healing and watched her in interest. The blue glow faded away from her hands after a while and (Y/N)'s eyes shot open. Everyone watched her in hope of beating the virus. "Damn..." (Y/N) cursed. "I managed to cure a bit of it, but it was a tough fight..."

The doctors nodded and wrote it down, reporting it. "Thanks (Y/N) for helping." Sting said, throwing his arms around (Y/N), making (Y/N) nod and turned her face away from him. (Y/N) walked back from the big, releasing his arms around her.

Not wanting to see her blush, (Y/N) walked out of the room and silently calmed down. After what happened with Adam, (Y/N) saw Sting differently in a way.

As she walked down the corridor, she recalled a memory from that night. 'You smell... like ice cream. I like ice cream.' (Y/N) shut her eyes and blushed even more.

"(Y/N)?" (Y/N) gasped a bit and turned to the source of the voice. She saw that it was Rufus dressed in armor. He still wore his mask and hat. "O-Oh. It's just you Rufus. You scared me."

Rufus chuckled and took off his hat, pressing it against his head. "Anyways, We caught the suspect that attacked you last week. I want you to come and have a look."

(Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows and nodded. She walked beside Rufus and it was quiet until Rufus spoke up. "I see your appearance has changed."

"You've noticed?"

"I do not recall a memory of you wearing it, so I thought so."

-

"I'm telling you! I was ambushed by a person!" An albino man yelled as the guards strapped him down to a chair.

(Y/N) narrowed her eyebrows as she watched him behind the mirror. "Lies! All of your comments are lies! It wasn't you who was attacked, you attacked the royal highness."

"Now can you please tell us why did you do it?"

"Are you mental?"

"Are you aware of what you done?"

"What are you part of?"

The albino shook in his seat as he was asked many questions. "I don't know! I don't know!" He replied, scared. "Drop the act! We both know that-"

The (Hair Colored) headed maiden entered the room, slamming the door open, then walking over to the albino.

She stared deeply into his eyes and stared at him. The albino gulped and blushed if how close they were.

"This isn't the Adam that attacked us." (Y/N) said bluntly. "What?!" One of the military men yelled. "What do you mean?!"

"What I mean is that the one who attacked us stole Adam's identity. Meaning that he acted to be like him." (Y/N) explained. "Maybe someone was trying to hide their identity in chance of not being caught."

The guards nodded and asked, "But how are you so sure?"

"I was there when he attacked us. The fake Adam had blue eyes and longer hair. This one has green eyes and short hair." (Y/N) said. Adam looked at her in thankfulness and said, "Mon dieu! Merci, (Y/N)!!" (My goodness! Thanks (Y/N)?)

(Y/N) nodded, knowing what he meant and turned to the guards. "I say you release this man without any punishment or harm."

"B-But (Y/N)... we don't even know the suspect."

"I'll find the suspect." (Y/N) said, serious. "I'll find it with you." Rufus said, stepping in. "I appreciate that, but-"

"Recalling from my memory, I owe you lots of things, so please, let me help you." Rufus said staring into her eyes. (Y/N) nodded. "Fine."

The guard nodded and said, "Be careful."

-

After that session, (Y/N) and Rufus were walking in a fast pace after hearing a devastating report from Yukino.

Rufus grabbed (Y/N)'s wrist and started to run. "We can get there faster if we run." Rufus said, making (Y/N) nod.

They raced inside the castle and up he stairs, running through the king's corridors.

They came to a stop and huffed, opening the door.

Wailing and sniffs can be heard inside the room. (Y/N) felt a twist in her stomach as she made her way in. Sting kneeled by the bed with his hands in his face and Yukino right beside him, calming him.

(Y/N) walked closer to the bed and saw that it was empty. The windows were wide open and the place looked like a tornado ripped through the room.

Sting sniffed for the last time and stood up on his feet. His red eyes met (Y/N)'s worried ones and said, "In case your wondering, my dad is missing. No one knows where he is." Sting said before falling to the ground, holding onto his stomach.

Yukino ran to Sting in a hurry. "(Y/N), you have to help him! He's been like this since yesterday!"

(Y/N) nodded and ran over to Sting and tried to heal him. However, Sting's body did not want to react. "This is... strange."

"J-Just leave me alone..." sting said through clutched teeth. He stood up on his feet again and walk out of the room. "I need to do some things..." Yukino flashed a look of worry to (Y/N) before following after Sting

What in the hell is going on?

-

In the Magic Council Headquarters, the members of the Council discuss a recent event that had occurred. As the conversation begins to drift, Chairman Gran Doma reminds everyone that the topic of discussion is Tartaros and reveals that recently, the guilds associated with them have been wiped out.

While some believe an Independent Guild to have been behind it, when Fairy Tail is brought up, Org instead suggests that Tartaros themselves are to blame. Though the others do not believe such is possible, Gran Doma states that it is within the realm of possibility and proclaims that now is the time to take up arms and make their stand.

Suddenly, a messenger runs in and reveals the presence of an imminent threat; an explosion takes place and destroys the building. Doranbolt looks nearby, only to find Lahar and the council members lying lifeless.

Searching around, Doranbolt finds Org but before he can get to him, another person gets to him first and pins him down. Revealing himself as Jackal of the Nine Demon Gates, the Demon prepares to kill Org with an explosion.

As he is about to die, Org tells Doranbolt to escape, which he reluctantly does just as the elderly council member dies in an explosion.

"Damn..." Doranbolt curses as tears streamed down his face. "DAMN IT!!"

After that, Doranbolt visits Cobra in his prison cell and asks for his knowledge on Tartaros.

"It's about time you showed..." Cobra smiled at him with his left eye open. "You 'heard' what happened up there, I presume." Doranbolt frowned. "Don't be stupid... I can't use magic in this cell, I just heard all the explosions." Cobra replied.

"Spit out what you know about Tartaros." Doranbolt said in seriousness. "Then talk to the higher ups." Cobra said bluntly. "I don't have that authority."

"Fine then... I demand the release of all six of us." Doranbolt then look down and shook his head. "What? I ain't squealing for free."

"The higher ups... are all dead."

Cobra widened his one eye before closing them. "Looks like they really went all out there." Cobra chucked.

In a flash, Doranbolt entered his cell and placed a dagger on Cobra's threat and threatened, "My friends are dead... and my patience is wearing quite thin. Spit out what you know or this is your last breath."

Cobra demands the release of his comrades in exchange for providing Doranbolt with information. Doranbolt, in no position or mood to grant his wish, threatens him, but Cobra stands his ground and decides to reveal only a limited fact.

"I ain't budging on that condition of mine. Those are my allies regardless of the circumstances... but... I will tell you only two things."

Doranbolt took the dagger away from his neck and took a step back.

"None of them are human. They're all demons from Zeref's book except for one. Their master's name is E.N.D. The strongest demon out of Zeref's library of works."

Doranbolt's eyes widen and felt the sweat going down on his forehead. He sighed and gulped. "Is that all?"

"One fact is good to me." Cobra smirked. "You said two." Doranbolt said darkly, the dagger know on Cobra's chest.

Cobra sighed and looked at him with sharp eyes. "Do you promise to let all of my team out?" Cobra asked. Doranbolt nodded and said, "Yes."

"Well..." Cobra smirked and turned to the corner of his cell. "Nine members are in hiding, but one of them is not. In fact, one of them is walking right under your noses this whole time." Cobra said, crossing his arms.

Doranbolt freezes in spot and walked over to Cobra. "Tell me who she is." He said, gritting his teeth.

"The strong maiden of Eucliffe." Cobra smirked. "I think I revealed too much. Now, can you release-" Cobra turned to see that Doranbolt gone and so was his chains.

Cobra walked out of his cell and stretched. He didn't know that there were ten demon gates, but after walking by an alleyway, he had found out.

Cobra had escaped his cell and was now on the run. He passed many people and Street markets, avoiding the officials.

"Get back here!"

He had recognize the area and ran after an alleyway that was coming up. He ran slower to make the turn, but stop after he lay eyes on a (Hair Color) haired woman and a familiar dirty blonde cat.

He froze in his tracks and stared at them. 'I'm going to get caught if I can't get through...'

He saw the (Hair Color) haired woman turn his head to him and dashed to the wall as fast as he could and climbed the wall, running away.

"(Y/N)?."

He hid behind a chimney and peaked out a little. "I could've sworn I saw something..."

"Like?"

"A flash of red."

-

After hearing the word of marriage, the preparation had already started. Sting was to meet Yukino before the wedding and was already on the carriage heading to her.

He looked out of the window with his chin resting on his palm. He was thinking about what his father had told him.

"Although I might not be there, everything is going to be on your hands." Weisslogia paused. "I want you to decide for your own self, not he kingdom. Do...not... think about the kingdom. I could tell from the look of your eyes that you don't want this... it's alright... you can cancel everything and ignore what I said."

Sting's eyes widen from his message and soften his eyes, feeling the tears. "No. Dad. I'm doing this for you and the sake of he kingdom. I must ally with Fiore by this damned marriage."

"If that's what you chose, then I have nothing left to say." Weisslogia said before drifting into slumber. Sting gasped how His father slept very fast. "Dad?!" Sting said in surprise. He then saw Weisslogia take a breath and sighed in relief. "Oh thank god."

"Sting..." The blonde prince woke up from his recalled memory and turned to the maiden. "I just wanted you to know that the magic council was attacked." (Y/N) said bluntly.

Sting stood shocked in his seat and gasped. "W-What?" (Y/N) nodded. "And if anything happens to me, don't believe in what the officials say."

"What in the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Sting yelled, clutching his knuckles. (Y/N) shook her head and looked down. "Never mind."

Sting was utterly confused onto what she had said.

"Okay?"

-

Sipping from the cup of tea, (Y/N) had sat by Sting and Yukino on a balcony of Fiore's balcony. Sting had sat across from Yukino and was stirring his tea in worry of his father.

"Sting... I'm sorry about your dad..." Yukino said, her thumb rubbing against his hand. Sting stood quiet and continued to stir his tea.

(Y/N) sat in the middle, feeling kind of awkward. 'Well this is fucking awesome.'

Sting and Yukino then started to have a conversation about the marriage and plans. (Y/N) thought to herself, not paying attention.

"The marriage is tomorrow."

(Y/N) sighed quietly and looked down onto the loaf of bread that sat on a plate.

'From what's going on right now, things won't look good for me...' (Y/N) closed her eyes and frowned.

Crunch

(Y/N) sat up and placed her hand onto the handle of her combat katana. Sting and Yukino were too focused onto their conversation that they didn't noticed (Y/N)'s face of alarm.

In a quick move, (Y/N) jumped from the chair, causing it to fall off of the balcony and clashed swords with the angered black haired male. "Drop your sword now, woman!"

(Y/N) didn't listen and continued to clash against the sword. Yukino and Sting rose from their seat and looked at Doranbolt in surprise.

"Doranbolt! What are you doing?!" Sting yelled. "She is not what she seems!" Doranbolt yelled back. "Now! I know who you are! Drop the sword now or say goodbye to your life! There's no where to go." Doranbolt screamed to the maiden.

(Y/N) frowned and took a step back. She dropped the katana from her hands and put her hands up in defeat. She looked the other way, not wanting to see the faces of those around her.

"What are you doing?!" Sting yelled, gripping Doranbolt's arm. "She's not a bad person! She's my friend!"

"So you're telling me that this woman, who is part of the Tartaros demon guild, is your friend?" Doranbolt said coldly.

Sting winced at the name of the guild and looked over to (Y/N) in shock. "(Y/N)!!! TELL ME HE'S LYING!" (Y/N) stood in the spot she was in, still looking away and said nothing.

"ANSWER ME, GODAMN IT!!" Sting cried as tears were streaming down his face. He knew that name of the guild. The dangerous guild that was behind every assassination that has occurred, even his mothers.

Sting fell to his knees and looked down. "I thought so." Doranbolt said coldly before pushing (Y/N) hard to the ground and cuffing her up. He then dragged her up and pulled her away. "I'm sorry for what this nuisance has caused you." Doranbolt said harshly before pushing her out of the room.

Watching her go way, made Sting anxious. Why? How? What? No.

"She can't be a demon!" Lector yelled, entering the room shortly after. "That's not like her!"

"Well that's the hard truth, Lector. Not everything is pure and innocent." Sting cursed, slamming his fist onto the floor.

"I'm sorry, Sting..."
