3rd Person POV
Sitting in the courtyard,back against the trunk of a tree,sat a 17 year old girl with galaxy hair.The smell of spring morning with a slight hint of salt from the sea near the harbour always helped her relax especially today when the new 1st years of Beacon Academy arrived.She smiled to herself as she dug her hands into the grass.It was always somewhat comforting. Nature was her habitat after all.
The girl's galaxy hair was tied in a braid crown with two curls hanging down the side of her face.She breathed in the air again,sharply this time choking on one of her curls.
"Blergh!Oh god."
"Cyrene!Are you okay?" A rabbit faunus rushed over to the coughing girl.
"Yeah,I'm good." She laughed.
She recognised the faunus.She was Velvet Scarletina,a 3rd year attending Beacon Academy and a member of Team CVFY.
"Thank goodness" Velvet sighed.The kind faunus was always looking out for everyone in the Academy.
Velvet peered over Cyrene's shoulder watching the younger girl play around with pieces of grass.
Velvet laughed.
"Cy,what are you doing?"
Cyrene shrugged. " Relaxing...I guess?"
The faunus nodded in understanding.
"You deserve that.You've been through a lot."
"Have I really though?I think you've been through more."
The faunus looked at Cyrene skeptically,before hugging her from the back.The galaxy haired girl was surprised but touched Velvet's hands in acceptance.
"You know I'm always here for you right.It wasn't your fault Cy."
Cyrene hugged the faunus then cried dramatically. "Velvet what will I do when you graduate!"
Velvet smiled.She knew what Cyrene meant.Velvet was like her older sister,still she couldn't help but think that Cy was always hiding her feelings behind that smile.
"Anyway, I didn't come here for nothing."
Cyrene rose a brow.
"Your uncle wants you to go greet the new 1st years,you know,make some friends?"
"Friends?" Cyrene perked her head to the side.
"Well,yes.I know you're not a student here but you spend most of your time at Beacon so why not make some friends.Like you said,I'm going to graduate soon."
Cyrene's usual midnight purple eyes darkened making her entire eye look completely black.
"Sure!" She made an attempt to give a smile but it turned into more of a creepy yandere grin.

Dusting off her hands,she headed towards the drop-off only to be stopped by bumping into a body.
"Oof!" The galaxy haired girl exclaimed as she fell backwards.
"I'm so sorry!Are you okay?" A distinct male voice apologised.
She nodded,looking up to see a blonde boy with blue eyes.
"I'm sorry about him.We just met but he's quite the klutz."A female voice continued.
"Says the girl who exploded in front of everyone!"
Cy laughed as the boy offered to help her get up.The girl flashed her a cheeky smile and shook Cyrene's hand.She had black bob length hair with red hair tips and silver eyes.
"You have silver eyes." Cyrene cocked her head to the side.Those eyes felt familiar.
"Eh?"The girl looked confused."Um,I'm Ruby Rose.Nice to meet you!"
The galaxy haired girl but a finger on her lip trying to remember where she had heard that name.Then it clicked.
"Oh! Are you Summer Rose's daughter?" She asked clasping her hands together.
Ruby nodded,still looking slightly confused.
"You knew my mum?"
"Of course! She's a part of the legendary Team STRQ!"
"Um,still here y'know." The blonde boy stated.
"Haha.Sorry about that. I'm not very good with people.I'm Cyrene Vasilias." The galaxy-haired scratched the back of her neck awkwardly.
"Jaune Arc.Short,simple,rolls of the tongue.Ladies love it." The blonde said a bit too confidently.
"Oh yeah?"Ruby questioned,making Cyrene let out a small giggle.
"I mean they will." Jaune replied.
"So are you a new 1st year too?" Ruby asked.
"Um,no."
"Oh so you're a senior?" Jaune continued.
"No."
"A teacher!" blonde boy and silver-eyed girl exclaimed in astonishment to which Cyrene shook her head.
"Well actually...I'm a student at Haven Academy but I spend most of my time here because my uncle's a professor here and I don't really like Haven at the moment." She scratched her neck awkwardly.
There was a moment of silence.
"Eh,who wouldn't want to spend time here.Beacon is like the best school in all of Remnant!" Ruby said passionately,her eyes sparkling.
Cyrene just smiled,not knowing how to respond to that. More silence.
"So....," the silver-eyed girl tried to break the ice again. "We're kinda lost. Do you happen to know where us first-years have to go?"
Cyrene smiled wider. She's never met people who made her feel so warm in a long time, you know, despite how awkward their conversation was going. "You're in luck. I basically know this place like the back of my hand. Follow me."
Ruby and Jaune returned her warm, awkward smile and they followed the galaxy-haired girl who was explaining each facility they passed by. "Maybe, this year won't be a nightmare," Cyrene whispered to herself.

A/n
Hey guys! It's Ari! And yes I've been on hiatus for like a decade (😉 See what I did there). Anyway there is a number of reasons for that and definitely not due to my writer's block. (*cough* Lies *cough*) One of the main reasons though is that my laptop broke down and I'm picky and find it annoying to type on my phone. The second one is that I'm really not in the mood with Wattpad. I'm happy that it's getting recognition but that doesn't mean they should put in 'mainstream' services, like you need coins for certain stories and that if you don't take premium you can only read 2 stories offline. Like I'm all for supporting authors, because the people on this platform do deserve it. But c'mon man! I feel like you're losing all the people who were here since it was in a developing stage😂 Where was I going with this? Oh yeah I remember now😅. So I haven't really been motivated to open this app in a while. I'll mainly update now when I seriously feel inspired. So yeah, I'm sorry for the disappointment but I will try my best!!!
