Chapter 57 In Search Of The Sky And The Final Skill
READER'S POV
We got back to the Sanctury in Kakariko village. Once we got into the basement we saw Shad and he heard about IIia getting her memory back and he said that his late father left him some stories about the Sky ruins or something. Link then gave him the book that Impaz gave us.
When Shad saw this, his eyes widen in surprise and excitement and he said,"What's this? Ah! It's Sky writing! Where in the blazes did you two get this? You don't suppose this could be the word that breaks the seal..." Shad read the book that contained the sky writing and once he finished he turned to the statue that had the seal on it's belly and said,"R-Right! Let's try it out!"
Shad raised the book he was holding in both of his hands and he starts to say the spell in the sky language. After he finished saying the words nothing happened. Shad said,"...No reaction." Shad turned back to us and he hung his head low and said,"So it is not this statue... Urgh..." Shad raised his head to us and said,"...Link, (Y/n), thanks ever so. You two have brought me one step closer to solving this puzzle. I shall give you two the book back to you."
Shad gave the book back to me and he then said,"Now! I shall try out this word on other statues! I have made the rounds of the statues so many times that I have memorised their locations." Shad took our map and said,"I will place marks on your map so you two can find them, in case you two wish to track me down." After Shad finished marking the statues on our map he then said,"Remember, every one of those marks is near an owl statue! Now, if you'll excuse me!"
Shad walks away from us and he then heads back up into the Sanctury. Suddenly we heard strange sound. Link went into his pouch and he got the rod out and it was back to it's full power. Link and I were shocked at this and then Midna came out of Link's shadow and she said,"The writing in the book was a spell that imbued the staff with magic! Now you can do to the other statues what you did before... So... He did say he would mark your map wherever there was a statue, didn't he? Then we should go check out those spots, right, Link, (Y/n)?"
We nodded our heads and then she went back inside of Link's shadow. I opened the book and I had a look at the sky writing and I noticed something. Link came over and said,"What is it (Y/n)? Can you actually read that language?" I then said,"My mother taught me a thing or two about sky writing, she used to do some research on it actually."
Link was surprised at this and he said,"Have you noticed something off in that book?" I took a moment to read it and I said,"I have in fact, this book appears to have some missing letters none of the sentences are making any sense, I'll bet if we head to the owl statues that Shad marked on our map we might be able to find some of the missing letters." Link then said,"I see, smart move, let's get going." We left Kakariko village and we went to search for the owl statues.
TIME SKIP...
LINK'S POV
After we found the missing letters we headed back to castle town because Ryumma and the ancient hero was going to appear. Once we got to the now blocked castle we walked over to the golden wolf and the grey wolf and then they pounced on us like last time. I woke up and I saw the golden wolf again. He howled and he transformed into himself into that ancient hero.
He said,"At last...the time is now. This is the seventh and final hidden skill that I can pass on to you. This forgotten skill is the ultimate secret technique, and it tests the true courage of the one who wields it. Do you wish to master this final skill, which can be earned only by the one true hero?" I nodded my head and he then said,"Very well. Then before we begin...I will test you to ensure you have mastered the last skill I taught you, the jump strike. Now then, come at me!"
I held my sword in both hands as he came at me. Once the shine on my sword reached the tip I struck him once and when I jumped in the air I struck him again as I landed on the ground sending him flying. He got up and said,"Excellent. It appears you are certainly capable of performing my lost art. Very well. My final hidden skill is... The great spin! Let it be hewn into your mind!"
The ancient hero said to me,"You have at your disposal the basic sword technique known as the spin attack. You have mastered numerous hidden skills and now house the spirit of the true hero. You now have in you the ability to magnify the power of your spin attack. But the only time you can draw that power is when your life energy is brimming full. Now, try unleashing this spin attack on me."
We clashed swords and then he created two clones of himself. I was then surrounded by them. I focused my power into the evil's bane and I spun around making a large spin attack and I struck all three of them. Two of his clones disappeared while the original one crashed onto the ground on his back. He got back up and said,"Impressive... I will repeat this once more: you can only perform this technique when your life energy is brimming full. Remember this. The final hidden skill, the great spin, has been passed on!"
I nodded my head and I demonstrated the spin attack again like last time before sheathing my sword. The ancient hero then said,"You have at last master all of the hidden skills. Although I accepted life as the hero, I could not convey the lessons of that life to those who came after. At last, I have eased my regrets. You who have marched through countless foes, each mightier than the last... You, who now gaze to the future with vision unclouded... Surely you and the chosen assassin can restore Hyrule to its stature of yore as the chosen land of the gods. Farewell!"
As everything went white I heard the ancient hero's voice saying,"Go and do not falter, my child!" My eyes widen at his comment and I thought to myself,"So that ancient hero was my father all along huh..?"
I smiled to myself and I thought to myself,"Thanks for your teachings... father."
READER'S POV
I woke up and I was in the other world like last time and I saw Ryumma in his wolf form and he was smiling at me. He said,"We meet again, although this might be the very last time we might see each other." I then said,"I know but you only came back to this world for a reason and that's to teach me the ways of becoming the chosen assassin."
Ryumma smiled at this and he said,"All right, but before I teach you the final skill, show me the previous skills I have taught you from before." I nodded my head and I demonstrated how I used my poison blade or using the hidden gun in my blade, I showed him how I free ran on the ledges and walls and I showed him I used my smoke bombs and assassinated one of his clones. Ryumma nodded his head an impress look on his face along with a smile.
Ryumma then said,"It would seem that you're capable of learning of becoming a true assassin chosen by the ancestors." I smiled at him and Ryumma then said,"The final skill I'm going to teach you is the eagle vision." I was confused at this and I said,"Eagle vision? don't tell me I'm going to have, literally, have a bird's eye view of things." Ryumma chuckled and said,"Not really, the eagle vision is a dormant sixth sense that possess, as a result of being created by the and also through interbreeding between some early humans and their precursors. Though each average human holds the potential to utilize it through an intense and very long training, some gifted individuals display a greater concentration of the necessary precursor genes, and thus are more likely to naturally exhibit Eagle Vision as well as some of its more advanced variations."
I understood this and I said,"I see, so how does this Eagle vision work exactly?" Ryumma then said,"Well, Those who possess the gift are able to instinctively sense how people and objects relate to them, which manifests as a coloured glow, much like an aura. Red indicates enemies or spilled blood, blue indicates allies, white indicates sources of information or , and gold indicates targets or objects of interest."
I understood that part and I then said,"You know, I don't mind a little less theory and more of a demonstration." Ryumma sighed and he said,"All right, well, this is how I used to eagle." Ryumma closed his eyes and then the world around me suddenly turned a dark blueish colour. Ryumma then said,"When I use Eagle vision, I keep an eye out for any of the auras I told you about, for instance when I look at you I see a blue aura meaning you're an ally." I then said,"i see, I think I might like this eagle vision, all right Ryumma show me how it works."
The world around me turned back to normal and Ryumma then said,"When you first found out that you were an assassin you didn't know how to use it at first did you?" I shook my head for a no and said,"Not really, I didn't know how to use it because I didn't even know we assassins could use it." Ryumma then said,"I only said only those who have the ability to possess this gift, your father, Ezio, Altair and our ancestors were able to use this gift and I know that you and Zoro can use this gift."
I nodded my head and Ryumma then said,"To awaken this Eagle vision you have to utilize it through an intense and very long training, however, some gifted individuals display a greater concentration of the necessary precursor genes, and thus are more likely to naturally exhibit Eagle Vision as well as some of its more advanced variations. In other words, your father went through the long and intense training and he also master the eagle vision and the advance stage called Eagle sense that way he could tell who is telling the truth and who is lying and since you and Zoro are related to him you won't have any problems mastering the first stage."
I nodded my head and said,"So what do I need to awaken the eagle vision?" Ryumma then said,"There isn't any time for you to go through the same stage as your father however, there is another method to awaken this power, and that is to relive your past." My eyes widen at this and I said,"You mean you want me to remember about the time when I saw... I don't think I can do that, it'll be too much." Ryumma then said,"I know it's painful for you but, you have to let it flow otherwise it won't work, stop fighting it and let it flow."
I nodded my head. I took a deep breath and I exhaled. I closed my eyes and I cleared my mind as I started to hear the sounds of fire crackling, the animals panicking in the barn, my father telling me to stay with my mother before he ran into the flames to get the animals out and I heard my mother saying that she was going to help my father and soon after that I heard the sound of the roof of the barn collapsing and the sounds of my eleven year old self crying for my parents' death.
I wanted to ignore it but I had no choice but to endure the pain I felt in my heart. Soon after that I began to feel a strange feeling within me. I slowly opened my eyes and I could see the dark blueish world that Ryumma showed me and I could see the light blue aura that was surrounding Ryumma. He asked me,"Can you sense it?" I said,"Yes, I can see a blue aura surrounding you, that means that you're ally aren't you?"
Ryumma nods his head and I then sensed Ryumma's heart beat and I said,"Hang on, I can hear your heartbeat." Ryumma's eyes widen at this and he said,"That's a good thing because, you've reached to the advance stage known as the eagle sense, with this advance ability your eagle sense has become a lie detector that way you can tell when someone it lying or when someone is telling the truth, well done you've master the Eagle vision and the Eagle sense really quickly."
My eagle sense wore off and shook my head and the world around me was back to normal. Ryumma then said,"You've finally master all of the hidden skills, but there is one more thing you should know about me before I head to the other side." I was surprised at Ryumma's comment. He said,"I too, was once the chosen assassin just like you but, I promised your father that I would teach his children to become one of us whether one of them was the chosen assassin or not."
I was surprised at this because I had no idea that Ryumma was like me. Ryumma then said,"When the war broke out I didn't teach any of the new assassins about our abilities but at last, I have eased my regrets especially about what happened that day. (Y/n), you have marched through countless foes with the chosen hero each mightier than the last... you can now gaze to the future with vision unclouded."
I smiled at his comment and Ryumma then said,"I believe in you, I believe that you and Zoro can restore the creed and protect the apple with your lives and teach the new assassins with your abilities and skills, knowing that your parents and the previous brothers and sisters of the creed would be proud of you even now." I felt tears in the corner of my eyes and I said,"Thank you for everything Ryumma, I wouldn't have become strong if it wasn't for you, you and father taught me everything about the assassins and the apple, even though you've passed onto the next life, I am glad that I get to call you my teacher."
Ryumma smiled and said,"And I am glad, that I get to call you my student, (Y/n)." Ryumma said as he ruffled my hair. Ryumma then took a few steps back from me and he said,"Looks like my work here is done, I no longer have any reason to linger in this world anymore, now go and do not falter, no matter what the cost may be, さようなら (Goodbye) (Y/n), may we meet again in the next life."
Ryumma said as his body dissolved into tiny particles. The tiny particles flew by me and I closed my eyes and I felt the tears fell from my eyes. I thought to myself,"Farewell Ryumma, until we meet again.."
I woke up and I heard Link say,"Are you awake yet?" I looked up and I saw Link holding me like a princess in his arms. We were at the western part of Hyrule field. I said,"Hang on, how long was I out of it for?!" Link then said,"You were unconscious for a while, after I came to you were still passed out from when that grey wolf pounced on you, I knew you weren't going to wake up for a while so I decided to carry you out of Castle Town in case were to see you knocked out."
I blushed at this and I said,"OK, well, I'm awake now so you can put me down." Link then said,"Oh sorry." Link puts me back on the ground and we then got onto our horses and we rode back to Kakariko village.
