READER'S POV

I was sitting near the Eldin spring thinking about what happened when mum and dad died in that barn fire. I thought to myself,"Dad... what happened to you and mum back then? is what Gina said true?"

Just then a familiar shadow followed me and I said,"I know you're there Shadow." Shadow appeared from the darkness and he sat next to me and he said,"Where's Link?" I said,"He's gone to castle town but i told him I wanted to wait here for him I told him I needed some time to think about stuff." Shadow then said,"Don't get mad, I saw Gina and she mentioned that she knew something about what happened to your parents didn't she?"

I looked at Shadow and I said,"Yeah, Gina knows what really happened that night but, no matter how many times I think to what happened that day, the only thing i could remember was my mum and dad running into the flames and dying in the fire." Shadow petted my head and said,"Don't let it bother you too much, come on." Shadow said as he stood up and I said,"Where?" Shadow just smirked and said,"Oh, just a little place i discovered, come on."

Shadow grabs my hand and he pulls me onto my feet. Shadow picked me up like a bride and I hung onto him for dear life and then he teleported. I opened my eyes and we were in the forest. Shadow puts me down on my feet and he took me by the hand and he led me through the forest. We were near a lake and it had fireflies floating over them. I smiled at the sight of the view and Shadow then said,"I discovered this place when I was little it was also around the time before I met you as well."

I looked at Shadow and he smiled at me. Shadow smiled and he then placed his hand on my head and he then removes my hood off my head so he could see my face better. Shadow and I looked around some more and when we were standing near the lake's edge, I looked at Shadow and his face looked so handsome in the moon light. An evil idea came to mind, so I sneaked behind Shadow with a smirk on my face and I shoved him into the water. When Shadow surfaced I was laughing hysterically. Shadow smirked and said,"You think that's funny? see how you like it!"

Shadow shouted as he grabbed my wrist and he pulled me in the water with him. Once i surfaced I glared at Shadow and it was his turn to laugh at me. I then splashed at him and he splashed me back. Shadow then started to chase me but when I tried to swim away he grabs my leg and he pulled me towards him and he wraps his arms around me from behind. Shadow rests his head on my shoulder and he said,"Good to see you smiling again, (Y/n)."

I ran my fingers through his wet hair and said,"You brought me here to cheer me up didn't you?" Shadow nods his head and he held me tighter with a smirk on his face. Shadow placed his hand on my cheek and he then turns my head slightly so that I was looking at his red eyes. Mines and Shadows lips were inches away from each other and I closed my eyes and I felt Shadow lips touching mine. Shadow pulled away and we smiled at each other. I leaned in and I kissed his lips only this time with more passion.

MEANWHILE...

LINK'S POV

After I spoken to Telma she told me that IIila went to the doctor first and Telma asked me to give him a magic paper. I got to the Doctor's house and when I got inside he saw me and he said,"Eh? What's that? Just as I wondered who it might be, I see it's the admirable young lad and his absent partner who was willing to help the Zora boy for nary a single rupee. Just what is it you want lad? A physical? You've some money, don't you? ..." He was silent for a moment and he then said,"By the way, that girl llia didn't mention anything about me, did she?"

I went into my pouch and I said,"Telma asked me to give you this." I got that piece of paper that Telma gave me. When he saw me he shouted,"AIIIGH!! L-Look! I can't pay this off right now! I can see Telma's hired you as some sort of heavy to strong-arm me, but she'll have to wait! Look, lad, if I'd been able to sell the wooden statue that young lady had, I would've been able to get the money..." I said,"Wooden statue?" He then said,"But see, I accidentally spilled medicine all over that little carving which made it stink awfully. I put it outside to dry...but then..." Just then a familiar voice said,"Let me guess someone or something stole it?"

I looked at the window sill and (Y/n) was sitting there with her legs crossed. The doctor said,"What the?! where did you come from?!" She jumped off the window sill and she stood next to me and said,"It doesn't matter doc, now tell us exactly what happened to that wooden carving? did someone stole it?" The doctor cleared his throat and said,"Well, it's just as you said, it was stolen. Who goes around stealing people's stuff like that? what a world! You always have to be on guard, eh? especially with this one as well." He said as he pointed at (Y/n).

(Y/n) looked away while trying to hide her smirk. I said,"Hang on, (Y/n) did you by any chance did some pick pocketing in the past?" (Y/n) said,"pfft! ..Maybe~ hee hee." I sweat dropped and I thought to myself,"She did, didn't she?"

READER'S POV

The doctor then said,"...Uh, look, Mr. Heavy and Miss sneak, at any rate neither the money nor the carving is here, so I can't pay you two." He turned on his heel and said,"Now, to work, to work..." Once he headed back into his office Link and I headed over to a crate and there was some green stuff behind it. I said,"I'll bet this must be the medicine that the doctor mentioned." Link nods his head and said,"You could be right, let me help you move it." Link said and when he placed his hand on the crate his hand touched mine slightly. I moved it away a little and we pushed the crate.

Once the crate was out of the road I sniffed the air and said,"Ew, I hate the smell of medicine." Link then said,"It doesn't matter, now hurry up and transform into your wolf form and sniff it already." I nodded my head and I touched the shape shifting stone and I was in my white wolf and Link was in his wolf form as well. Link and I sniffed the scent and I said,"Ugh, even when I'm in my wolf form it's scent is blocking my nose." Link then said stop complaining and follow it's scent.

I nodded my head and when we got outside some people were a bit afraid of us but quickly followed the scent and we ended up back at Telma's place. We saw her cat and she said to us,"You're looking for the wooden statue that IIia had, aren't you, dears? Think it's coincidence that I happen to know it got stolen from the doctor's place? No..." I said,"You took it? then what happened to it?" She said to us,"Yes, I'll admit it...I took it. But then I was attacked by some sort of dog beasts who took it from me." I was surprised at this and Link then asked her,"Why were they after her statue?"

She said to us,"I don't know why those beasts were after her statue...I thought it likely that she was in a dangerous spot thought." I then asked her,"Do you know when they show up?" She said,"Those fiends lurk just outside the southern gate... Unfortunately, they only come out at night. ...And another thing... They always move around as a pack. You won't get that statue back unless you two give them a thrashing. That sounds like a key to getting IIia's memory back... you two must get it back!"

We nodded our heads and we went to the southern part of Hyrule Field and we waited for the sun to go down. While we were waiting for those dog beasts to show up Link sniffed me and he said,"Um, (Y/n), I can smell Shadow's scent from you, I take it you saw him again?" I nodded my head and said,"When you went to see Telma I saw Shadow and he cheered me up when I was slightly upset the last time when you saw me." Link then said,"I see, in some ways I feel jealous." I looked at him surprised and said,"Whenever I see the two of you together it makes me angry but I don't mean to sound protective or harsh but I don't trust Shadow I know he's hiding something."

I said,"Link I know what you're thinking, you're thinking Shadow is with Gina and Zant but you're half correct, Shadow was Gina's boyfriend from before but he's not with her anymore, he told me everything about her." Link then said,"I see, well, the sun is about to disappear, it's about time we get that wooden statue back." I nodded my head and we then made our way to the field and we waited for the dog beasts to show up. As soon as we got to the exit where the blocked entrance was, several dog beasts showed up and they were ready to strike us.

Link said,"Stand back and let me deal with this." I looked at him and said,"When you say that, you mean Midna is going to help you don't you?" Link sweat dripped and he then ignored my comment and he began to attack the dog beasts when Midna created an energy field. Once the dog beasts were gone, the wooden statue popped out of nowhere and it landed on the ground. I sniffed it and said,"No doubt it, it's the wooden statue that the doctor mentioned." Link and I transformed back into our human forms and Link took the wooden statue and said,"Let's take this back to IIia, hopefully she can tell us where she got this from."

I nodded my head and we got two horse weeds and we blew on them gently and then Epona and Diablo came galloping towards us. They came to a halt and we got onto their backs and we rode back to Kakariko village.
