CHAPTER FORTY-NINE: OFFICIALLY RETIRED

Natasha opened her eyes to the bright sun shining through the window and into the room.

She turned around to see Five laying next to her with his eyes closed.

He looked so peaceful when he was asleep like that with some pieces of his hair in front of his face.

She smiled before she got up and washed her face and when she walked back over to the bed, Five was still asleep.

"Honey" she said but he didn't react "Five?" she said "Hmm" he said, still with his eyes closed "Wake up handsome, or you will miss eating breakfast with the others" she said "All right" Five said, but still with his eyes closed.

"Five, come on sleepyhead, get up, this is our first normal day as a family in a really long time" she said but Five started turning around "We don't want to spend the day just laying in bed" she said as Five lay on his side "Five!" she said, almost leaning over his side but he just groan.

But then she grabbed him before she turned his body so he was on his back and kissed him.

Five pulled away and looked at her "What are you doing? I haven't even brushed my teeth yet" he said and she smiled "I don't care" she said and he smiled "Are you awake now?" she asked "Not quite yet, we have to try again" he said before he brought his lips to hers.

While they kept kissing he grabbed her and rolled her to the side of the bed, so he was over her.

But then Natasha pulled away "Honey, come on, we have to get up before Luna" she said, but then Five started kissing her neck "Oh, all right, 10 minutes" she said before she kissed him.

They pulled away and she then pulled off her shirt, Five smiled and did the same. She then slid her hands down to his pants and slowly started pulling them down while Five did the same to her pants.

But then Luna started whining which cause them to pull away "I will get her" he rolled off her and took his pants back on before he got off the bed and walked over to the crib where Luna was.

"Hey Sweetpea" Five said as he lifted up Luna from the crib "I will change her" he said before he walked to the bathroom.

Diego and Klaus was sitting by the table, looking at the boy name Stanley who was taking food from the buffet.

Klaus then looked at Diego "That little delinquent is your son?" he asked "Allegedly my son" Diego said and Klaus laughed "That's so funny!" he said "It actually is a little bit" Zach said as he took a sip of his coffee.

Then Five who was holding Luna came walking over to them before putting Luna in the child chair.

Five was wearing black jeans and he put a white T-shirt with dark blue checked on and a white shirt underneath, he put on a light brown vest and put a fedora on his head. The fedora was checkered blue with a black band around it and a small feather on the left side.

"Where is mom?" Zach asked "She will be down in a bit" Five said before he looked at his son "Will you watch Luna for a bit, I have to get her some food" he said and Zach nodded.

Five then got up before he walked over to the buffet just as Natasha came walking over to the buffet "Hey Darling" Five said "Hey Honey" she said and the two gave each other a quick kiss "Sleep well?" he asked and she nodded "You?" she asked "It's a long time since I slept like that" he said and she smiled before she scanned him up and down "I can see that you pick some clothes that fit your age" she said "Shut up" he said as he picked up some peaches and other fruits before putting it on a plate.

He then picked up a mimosa drink while Natasha picked up a cup of black coffee before they started walking towards the table.

Five looked at Stan as he followed his girlfriend over to the table where the others were sitting. 

"Wait, who's...Who's the mother?" Five asked Diego as he looked over at Stan.

"Lila" Diego answered "Excuse me?" Klaus asked as they all widened their eyes "Wait what?" Natasha and Zach asked "Whoa, Lila's here?" Five asked "Was. She dropped him off in my lap last night then bolted" Diego said "I don't much care for that one" Klaus said "Don't" Diego said as he pointed his finger at Klaus.

"Technically, she's family" Five said "She was trying to murder us, like..." Klaus said and thought for a moment, trying to wrap his head around the time travel "Yesterday" he said "Yeah, like I said 'family'" Five said before he put down his drink on the table and put down the plate in front of Luna "Here you go Buttercup" he said before he gave Luna a spoon and kissed her cheek.

He then looked back at Diego again "Is she coming back?" he asked Diego before he turned around to grab two chairs from another table.

"Well, she goddamn better be, because we got more important things to be dealing with right now!" Diego said out loud causing Stan to look at him "Calm down. Shh" Klaus said to Diego as Five sat down next to Klaus while Natasha sat down on Zach's left side so she was between her two kids.

"Calm down Diego, be nice. He is just a kid. I understand you are mad at Lila. But that is not reason to yell at an innocent child, is not his fault that he is your son" Natasha said "Yeah, so don't blame him, you're the one who got down dirty with Lila in 63', not the kid, it's your fault that you didn't wear any protection, that's on you" Zach said.

Five picked up a piece of fruit before he feed Luna with it and he smiled as she started chewing.

"It's weird to see Five acting all daddy and caring" Klaus said "That's because you are not used to it. He did it all the time when Zach was little" Natasha said before taking a sip of her coffee.

Natasha, Five and Zach have not told the others that Zach was not really Five's and Natasha's son and most of those memories they have with him was fake, and they have decided not to tell them 'cause they might be fake but for them it was real and Zach sees Five and Natasha as his real parents, just like they sees him as their real son.

Then Vanya walked towards the table "Where's Luther?" she asked "Who cares? Probably out for...a run" Diego said as he paused for a second when he noticed her short hair.

"Nice haircut, it suits you" Natasha said "Thanks" Vanya said "Mmm!" Klaus said as he swallowed his coffee "Love the haircut" he said as he waved his hand at her and she smiled "Nice haircut. It suit you" Zach said "Thanks" Vanya said with a smile.

"So, Zach and I uh, talked to Marcus last night" she said "Wait, what?" Natasha and Five asked "You talked with the enemy? By yourself?" Diego asked her while the couple looked at Zach "You talked with them?" Five asked "We need that briefcase, we all know that they are powerful and they can cause great damaged in the wrong hands, so someone have to do something" Zach said "Why didn't you tell us?" Natasha asked "'Cause you and dad deserve to have some peace and quite, spend time with each other and Luna, beside I handle it" Zach said.

"He is right somebody had to do something" Vanya said "Who elected you, Vanya?" Diego asked "It's, uh, Viktor" Vanya said "Who's Viktor?" Diego asked.

There was silence for a few seconds before she spoke up "I am" she said and they all looked at her understanding what she meant by that.

Viktor looked at his family hesitantly as they remained silent while they processed the information "Uh, is that an issue for anyone?" he asked and Klaus let out a chuckled.

"Why would we have issues with that, I mean a member of the family is half monkey" Zach said "True" Diego said "I'm good with it Viktor. I have no problem with it, people should be who they wanna be. I'm also accepting you. You are family Viktor so of course I accept you. I'm glad that you found yourself" Natasha said "Thanks Nat" Viktor said "Of course Vik" Natasha said with a smile.

"I'm good with it too. People should be who they wanna be" Zach said "Thanks" Viktor said.

"Truly happy for you, Viktor" he said and Viktor looked at him before Five raised his brows "But last time I checked, you don't speak for this family" he said.

"Okay, it's fine, okay? Marcus totally gets it" Viktor said as he sat down between Diego and Zach "He doesn't want a war any more than we do" Viktor said "He is right, he don't" Zach said.

"What are you talking about? He tried to homicide us!" Diego said "So did Lila" Zach said "And you had a kid with her" Natasha said "Yeah. That's true" Klaus said "That's not the point" Diego said as he turned to Natasha, Zach and Klaus.

"We made a deal. He's gonna give back Five's briefcase, then we're gonna get out of the timeline. I'm gonna meet him later today for the, uh, the handover" Viktor said and Five let out a smile while Klaus clapped his hands in relief "Oh, thank God!" he said "Nice move Vik. But what is even your plan when you get the briefcase?" Natasha asked "To go back and fix what ever we did back in 63' so we can go back to the original timeline" Viktor replied "That don't sound that bad" Natasha said.

"That's a rookie move. Dude is playing you" Diego said "Oh, really?" Viktor asked as he was looking at Diego "Yeah, but maybe we can use this. And we turn it back on them, and then we wipe them the hell out" Diego said "Diego, stop, please. And you're not gonna, like, do anything today" Viktor said.

"Expect bond with your spawn" Klaus said and patted Diego on the shoulder "Alleged spawn" he corrected "Klaus is right, spend some time with your son, get to know him" Natasha said.

"Listen, I will get the briefcase, and then we will all go back and fix the timeline" Viktor said "Hey, we're not going anywhere! This is a perfectly acceptable timeline" Five said "Yeah, why don't you tell that to Allison, who's upstairs grieving her daughter, who doesn't even exist here!" Viktor said and Natasha's eyes widened for a second.

Poor Allison, she must be heartbroken, Natasha know how it feels losing a kid.

It must be hard for Allison, finding out that your child don't exist.

"Not to mention, we've been replaced by a bunch of blobs and cubes and birds and shit!" Diego said.

"News flash, geniuses! It's not about us! Take a look around. If you hadn't noticed, there's no doomsday. There's no apocalypse. The sun is shining. Birds are doing whatever the hell birds do. That's all that matters. We're done messing with time" Five said before he grabbed his drink "Nat and I are officially retired and we're gonna enjoy it together and our kids" he said before he turned in his chair and Klaus sniffed at Five as he got up from the chair before walking to the buffet.

"Is he wearing aftershave?" Klaus asked them "I'm concerned" he said.

"Natasha" Viktor said and she looked at him "Well you talk to him?" he asked "I'm sorry about this, but I agree with Five. Yes I would prefer a timeline where there is not another adult version of me out there. This timeline is safe and it is the best timeline for Zach and Luna. We're not bothered by the Commission or another apocalypse. No one is trying to kill us and we're all together. It's a fresh start for all of us. I'm sorry Viktor. We just want to protect our kids. We can't lose them. Five and I have being through enough. Especially Five. He deserve rest. Luna deserve to grow up. Zach deserve a normal life" she said before she got up and walked over to get some food from the buffet.

Viktor then looked at Zach "Can you please try to convince your parents?" he asked "It's hard, once my parents have made a decision, it's hard to try and talk them out of it. My parents have being through so much, both of them. And they just want to retire and they are doing what they think is best for Luna and me. I can try but can't promise anything, but no matter what I'm on your side, not with going back, but getting the briefcase back" Zach said "Thanks Zach" Viktor said "We are family, so of course" Zach said.

Then the lights in hotel suddenly switched off all at once before it flickered back on a minute later which cause Natasha and Five to looked around as they both think it was weird about the light

"That was weird" Natasha said "Yeah, maybe it's just an old hotel" Five said.

"Hey Bonnie and Clyde, lovebird, Romeo and Juliet" Klaus said as he walked over to Natasha and Five.

"Hey. What do you say we get outta here, huh?" Klaus asked him and Five looked at him "Take a little...road trip" he said "What are you talking about?" Five asked "I'm talking about a sojourn to the countryside. You two and me, the wind in our hair. Thelma and Louise, on the open road" Klaus said and Five let out a scoffed "You know they die in the end, right? And I would prefer if my girlfriend didn't die for a second time, thank you" he said while he took some food on his plate.

"Holding hands, living our best life, my little cherub!" Klaus said before he leaned closer to Five as he crouched down to his height while Five scooped a spoon of fruit on his plate.

"Listen to me. I nearly died from Luther's sleep farts last night while you and Natasha was having fun. You two cuddling and probably doing it" Klaus said and Natasha rolled her eyes "We need to get out of here, get some fresh air!" Klaus said as Five walked around the buffet before he stopped and turned to Klaus.

"Okay, I'll bite. Why me, Klaus?" he asked "Because you said...you said you're retired, and that's what retired people do. And don't you deserve some fun? And Natasha, our sweet Natasha is coming with us. Not threated killer Natasha, but caring and kind Natasha. You are coming with us right?" Klaus asked before he looked at Natasha.

"Come on guys, you two deserve some fun, have some alone time" Klaus said "Sure. But Zach and Luna is coming with us. Otherwise I'm not going" Natasha said "I'm not going either without our kids" Five "Of course they are coming, my cute little niece and handsome nephew" Klaus said.

Five turned but then he spotted to see that there was no lobsters in the tank like there was a minute ago.

"There's no lobsters" Five said "Excuse me?" Klaus asked "There were three lobsters in that tank a minute ago" Five said "Yeah, well, you know, maybe Chet blended 'em into a morning smoothie" Klaus said.

Five tried to hide his smile as he looked back at Klaus "You're an idiot, but I'm in" he said "Whoo" Klaus said as he lifted up his hands in joy.

"Let me go! Get your hands off me!" Stan shouted as Chet as he was holding a grab on him "I saw what you did!" Chet said to him.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" Diego asked as he ran up to them and Chet let go of Stan "Your son stuffed three mini muffins down his pants" Chet said to Diego.

"And this is a buffet! I can take whatever the hell I want!" Stan said "I got him" Diego said before he grabbed Stan's shoulder "Come on" he said "Wait, take it easy" Stan said "Time for some ground rules" Diego said "How about no physical assault. That's a--" Stan said but cut go off when Diego sat him down by the stairs that lead to the elevator "Shut up and listen" Diego said before he sat down next to him.

"My father was a Hall of Fame asshole" Diego said as Stan began eating the muffin. "And when I was a little pissant like you, I made a promise to myself that I would never act like him to any kid of...mine" Diego said "Yeah, stop. I'm gonna cry" Stan said sarcastic.

"But I'm a busy man, with a lot on my shoulders, okay? So I'm gonna let you slow me down either, all right?" Diego said "Yeah, you look really busy right now" Stan said sarcastic and Diego hit the muffin out of his hand before he looked at him "You can stay until your mom gets back, all right? But no more doing dumb shit, or else you and I are gonna have a serious problem" Diego said and Stan looked down "Look at me" Diego said and Stan looked at him "Me entiendes" Diego said in Spanish.

But then Diego noticed that Stan's right ear started leaking "Dude, your ear's leaking" Diego said "Oh, I...Yeah, I forgot to pack my ear medicine" Stan said "Oh sh--Ear medicine, huh?" Diego said "If I don't drain it, uh, pus leaks out and it smells like cat puke" Stan said "Come on" Diego said before the two got up and walked towards the front door of the hotel.

"Whoa, whoa! Where do you think you're going?" Viktor asked as he walked up to them "Kid thing. I'll be right back" Diego said "No. I need you to stay put and not do anything stupid until I get the briefcase" Viktor said "Yeah, and you're not the boss of him, okay" Stan said causing Diego to give him a small slap on the back of his head.

Diego then grabbed Stan's shoulder before the two walked towards the door.

"Come on, we'll get a few road sodas for the journey" Klaus said when both Natasha and Five was done eating "Sometimes, you gotta clear the head out" Klaus said as Five picked Luna up in his arms.

"Come on Zach" Natasha said "Where are we going?" Zach asked "A little road trip, so come on" Natasha said "Can't I stay home?" Zach asked "Come on Sweetheart, this is our first family time in a really long time, we want you to come, so please, do this for your dad who have being through hell, and also do it for me and your baby sister" Natasha said "Fine. It wouldn't hurt, I guess" Zach said "Then come on" Natasha said and the two walked after Five and Klaus.

"Guys, wait. Where are you going?" Viktor called out to them "Get the rats out of the maze, you know?" Klaus said to the three "Come on" Five said.

"Let's pack something for the road trip" Natasha said "And circle the things we want to see" Five said.

The sound of a woman humming gently was heard as Luther slowly opened his eyes and he could feel someone dipping a rag on his forehead.

"Mom?" he asked as he opened his eyes "Why do people keep calling me that?" Grace asked and Luther let out a groan "Where am I?" he asked "The Academy, silly. Everybody's waiting for you" Grace said "The Academy?" Luther asked confused before he sat up.

He then heard indistinct chatter in the background and the sound of a blender whirring from another room.

Luther grabbed a broom before he walked out of the room and into the gym, ready for fight.

He saw Sloane standing by the blender while Ben, Jayme, Chris, Fei and Alphonso was sitting by a long white table, eating as playful string music was playing in the background.

"Ah, there he is" Alphonso said as he looked at Luther.

Sloane turned her head to look at him as the blender stop whirring "Please, join us" Fei said.

"It's okay. Nobody's gonna hurt you" Ben said "Smoothie?" Sloane asked with a smile as she hold a smoothie out to Luther "Oh" he said as he looked at her with smile "Yeah, thanks" he said as he lowered the broom before he let out a chuckled as he grabbed the smoothie while Sloane took the broom.

"You must be starving" Fei said "Oh, uh..." Luther said as he walked over to the table while Sloane sat down "No, I...I probably shouldn't" he said before he spotted something on the table "Is that cashew butter?" he asked "Cashew butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, tahini, Brazil nut" Sloane said "Wow. You know what? Now that you mention it, I am feeling a little bit, uh, peckish, actually" Luther said "Help yourself" Alphonso said as him, Jayme and Fei was sitting on one side of the table while Ben, Sloane and Chris was sitting on the other side.

"Thanks" Luther said and went over to a sit that was across from Ben and between Fei and Alphonso.

Luther took a sip of the green smoothie "Wow" he said softly, surprise in how good it tasted.

He put the smoothie on the table and he sat down before he started grabbing some food.

Sloane smiled at him as he smiled nervously while he glanced at them.

"So, we know you're Number One, but we haven't been formally introduced yet. I'm Ben, Number Two" Ben said "It is so good to see you again, buddy" Luther said before he chuckled.

"Why does everyone keep looking at me like that?" Ben asked as he glanced at his siblings.

"Because you've been dead for 15 years" Luther answered as he looked at him and Ben raise a brow as he looked back at him "'Dead?' What do you mean, dead?" he asked and the others glanced at Luther.

"Kind of a long story" Luther said with a nervous smile.

"Anyway, I'm Fei, Number Three" Fei said "Alphonso, cuatro" Alphonso said "Sloane. Five" Sloane said and Luther looked at her "Hey" she said with a shy smile "Hey" Luther said with a smile.

"I'm Jayme, Six" Jayme said.

"That's Christopher, of course. Number Seven" Ben said as he pointed on the cube next to him and Chris said something.

"Oh, don't mind him. He's in a bit of saucy mood today" Ben said as the rest of the Sparrows let out a chuckled.

"He wouldn't get it" Alphonso said "It's just so--" Sloane said with a smile and small laugh which made Luther let out a laugh.

"Wait, uh, what about, um, Number One?" Luther asked "What about him?" Fei asked "Where is he?" Luther asked and Ben grabbed a butter knife before he stabbed it onto the table causing Luther to let out a gasp in shock.

"That's what we'd like to know" Ben said as the others looked at Luther causing him to lean forward a bit "Are we playing a game?" he asked Ben "Whatever game the Umbrellas are playing, you're gonna lose!" Ben said in a threatening voice as he put the butter knife on the table again.

"You took our Number One, so we took you" Ben said as he pointed his finger at Luther.

"Wait, we took Marcus?" Luther aske confused before he let out a chuckled "Why would we do that?" he asked "Act of war? Death wish?" Jayme said "The last time we saw him, he was with your sister and a kid" Sloane said "Which one?" Luther asked "The little one with the big powers and the boy with the beanie who can also blink" Fei said "Vanya and Zach? Huh" Luther said confused, not believing that his Vanya and his nephew would do something like that.

"Well, I gotta say, I don't know my nephew Zach that well, and sometimes he act like his parents, so I don't know what he could do, but I don't believe that his parents would allow him to do that and it does not sound like Vanya to go and kidnap anybody" Luther said before he chuckled "You know, having said that, I am usually the last to know about these kinda things" he said "You're their Number One. Shouldn't you know everything?" Ben asked "I know. You'd think so, Ben. Discipline has never really been our strong suit. It's pretty much a free-for-all over there" Luther said before he chuckled but the others just glanced at him like he was idiot.

"So, listen" Luther said as he put some Cashew butter on the bread.

"This sounds like an easy fix. I'll head back. I mean, my family's probably worried sick about me, to be honest. And if they have your guy, I'll send him back without a scratch. All right? No harm, no foul" Luther said as he looked at them.

"Hows' that sound?" he asked as he look at each of them "Good?" he asked as he looked back Ben who just stared at him with a rise eyebrow "Great" Luther said.

But as he was about to stand up, one tentacles grabbed Luther's shoulder before it push him back down on the chair.

"What's the rush? Stick around till Marcus is back" Ben said as the tentacles disappeared into his stomach.

Chris then started speaking menacingly as he float over to Luther.

"My family will come for me" Luther said as Ben wipe his mouth with a napkin "Wonderful" he said with a smile as he put the napkin on his plate "In the meantime, make yourself at home" he said before he grabbed his plate and stood up "Oh, and, uh...before I forget, if you try to escape, Fei's birds will peck your eyes out and make a nest inside your skull" Ben said calmly and Luther looked at Fei who chuckled before she grabbed her plate and got up "Cool" Luther said in a voice like he didn't like it at all.

Ben then sent Sloane a nod before he left.

"So, what do you like to do for fun?" Sloane asked Luther causing him to look at her.
