CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX: THE FAIL MEETING

Luna's back was laying on Five's lap as he was putting on her shoes.

"And then the dragon goes into the castle again" Five said as he had finished tying the other shoe.

Natasha walked into the living room, holding two mugs of coffee before putting one mug on the coffee table "Here you go" she said "Thanks" Five said before he lifted up Luna so she was sitting on his lap.

He then kissed her tiny fingers which cause her to laugh.

"She is amazing honey, you did a great job" Five said "You were part of it too" Natasha said "Yeah, but you carried her, gave birth to her, took care of her" Five said before he put Luna down on the blanket right by the couch.

"You have nothing to be sad about, I'm just glad you are back" Natasha said and he looked at her "Me too. And I can't wait to go back home, retire and live a normal life with you and our kids" he said as he took a sip of his mug "Me too" she said as she started running circles around her mug with her finger.

"You okay?" he asked "You know that what we did will have consequences" she said "I know, but that's nothing that we can't handle, we always seems to beat everything that gets throw at us" he said "I know" she said with a nod.

Natasha then rested her head on her right hand that was on the couch's backrest.

"Tell me what's going on with that beautiful brain of yours?" he asked as he also rested his head on his left hand that was also on the backrest.

"I'm just scared 'cause I now know that The Handler will be in charged of The Commission now and it's only matter of time before she comes for us and she is gonna take Luna away from her, turn her into what she didn't managed to turn Zach into" Natasha sad "It's just---"

"No" Five said as he put his hand on her knee "Listen, if she ever comes and try to take Luna, she have to get through us and that's not gonna be easy" he said "I'm just worried, you know. She is a smart woman who only think about power and even so that is the kiss of death, liking power, she is already thinking one step ahead, with a Checkmate already in sight" she said "I'm worried too, but soon we will all be home and then we can think about what to do" Five said and she nodded before they both put their empty mug on table.

Natasha notice how Five was staring at her "Why are you staring at me like this?" she asked "'Cause you are beautiful" he said which cause her to blush .

He then lifted up his hand before he storke a piece of hair away from her face.

Then Luna said sound and the two looked down to see her sitting with her back facing them, playing with some toys.

"You know, I think we should make another one" Five said which cause Natasha to look at him "What?" she asked and he raised an eyebrow in a flirting way.

"Have this something to do with you missing both the kids' birth?" Natasha asked and Five shook his head "No, this have something to do with that I want to have a bigger family with you" he said.

Natasha smiled before she grabbed his collar and pulled him closer to her so their faces was inches from each other "Let's slow down for now Jumpy Guy" she said "But it's not out of the picture?" he asked and she smiled.

"Let's wait till we are back and have settle down and getting used to the normal life, and then we can talk about having another one, but let's us first enjoy what we have" she said and he smiled "I like that" he said before he pressed his lips against hers.

She smiled as she sunk deeper into the kiss and Five leaned forward causing her to lean back against the couch.

Diego were standing inside a hole that he had duge that was only a couple of feet deep.

He had a shovel in his hands, digging up more and more dirt while Elliott's body was off to the side in a wheelbarrow with a sheet covered up the body.

'Cause of the heat, Diego stopped digging as he wipe his forehead.

But then Diego heard footsteps in the grass behind him "Oh good" he said as he kept digging "It's you and your stupid face" he said "Weird time to garden" Lila said as she kept walking towards Diego.

"Can we talk? The truth this time" she said "Oh, I know the truth. You used me, Lila. You're a liar" he said and she shook her head "Oh, come on. What did I really lie about?" she asked "Who you are, who you work for, why you're here, what you want form us. That's all" he said "Yeah, but the rest was true" she said as she moved her arms before she stopped.

Diego let out a sigh as he kept digging "Everyone lies, Diego, and...and I was only lying to protect you" she said as she took a few steps closer to him and he snapped his head up to look at her.

"Mostly" she said as she stopped a couple feet in front of him. He took a step closer to her before putting the shovel blade into the ground while holding the end of the handle "Do you know how hard it is to trust people when your whole childhood was bullshit and manipulation?" he asked "Uh-huh" she said quietly with a small nod.

"Then why would you do that to me?" he asked and she looked away to avoided his gaze causing him to nod and take a step back.

"Tell you what, I'm gonna finish this hole" he said as he started digging again "Save the word, and forget we ever met" he said with a grunt.

Lila turned around but stop when she saw Elliott "Wait, is that...is that dentist-chair guy?" she asked "Elliott. Your Swedish buddies got him" Diego said as Lila lifted the sheet off to look at Elliott "Oh, shit" she said before dropping the sheet over him.

"I liked that shit-muppet" she said while looking down at the ground before she quietly reach to her back.

Lila grabbed out a small bottle before glancing back at the sheet that covered Elliott "Well, here's to Elliott, I guess" she said as she unscrewed the lid to the bottle before taking a few steps towards Diego who looked at her.

"Um...I'll miss his crazy theories..." she said before she turned to Diego that kept digging "...and I'll miss sharing his bed with you" she said and causing him to stop digging and look at her.

Lila tilted her head back, pouring down some liquid from the bottle into her mouth before handing the bottle to Diego.

Diego tilted his head back, pouring the liquid down his mouth before she threw the bottle off to the side before he started digging again "We done now?" he asked.

But then Diego stopped digging ad he felt a weird feeling in his body "Oh..." he said as Lila turned her head before spitting out the liquid "Balls" he said before he felled backwards into the sand, passing out "Yup" Lila said before she walk over to him, putting her hands under his arms before dragging him away.

Natasha was holding Luna as her, Five and Zach was standing in the alleyway where they were gonna meet the others.

Five pulled up the briefcase from a dumpster as Luther ran up to them "Where is anyone?" Luther asked "You're the first" Zach said "What?" Luther asked "Yeah" Five said.

Then the four spotted Klaus came running at the end of the alley with his hands stretched out to the sides. He almost ran straight into the wall as he turned down the alley.

"We made it" he said as he ran down the alley before he stopped in from of them "What do you mean 'we'?" Five asked but Klaus just moved one of his hands beside his face.

The four looked confused at Klaus as he started groaning and grunting "Get out" he said almost choking out his words while letting out a shuddering grunts.

"Out" Klaus said before he put his hands to his stomach as he hunched over before vomiting on the ground by his feet.

"Gross" Zach said and Klaus let out a groan as he fell to the ground, still holding his stomach.

"I can't believe it. I mean, you're here" Luther said.

Five and Luther knew that if anyone of their siblings would be late, it would be Klaus.

"We've got eight minutes left" Five said as he looked at his watch "I just had the strangest dream" Klaus said as he was laying on the ground while whimpering.

"Vanya told me that she needed to say goodbye first" Zach said as the four stood in the alleyway without knowing that Allison and Vanya was in danger while Diego had being kidnapped.

Natasha looked at her boyfriend "Don't worry my love, they will be here" she said "And if they're not?" Five asked as he turned to her "You do remember what we did to get this briefcase, do get this opportunity. Can you be able to life with yourself?" he asked a little aggressive which 'cause Zach and Natasha to share a look.

They knew that if Five's siblings didn't show up, they would be stuck here.

Lila was sitting on a chair in front of the desk while Diego was sitting next to her, still passed out.

"Diego Hargreeves..." Lila said as Diego started to wake up. He let out a grunt before sitting up.

He looked at his body before he looked at Lila who was sitting next to him, looking directly at The Handler that was sitting behind her desk.

"Meet my mother" Lila said and Diego looked towards The Handler "Mother this is Diego...my boyfriend" Lila said "What?" Diego asked as he had his hands on the desk while he was looking at her before he looked back at The Handler.

"We've got a minute left!" Luther said as he slammed his fist on the dumpster "Where are the others?" Five asked as he started to look frustrated.

"What's going on, guys? Are we going somewhere?" Klaus asked hoarsely, was he was laying on the ground.

"It was a simple task. It was a simple task!" Five said as he walked back and forth aggressive.

"And all we had to do was be here. Didn't have to fight a giant seas monster, no. Any army of mutants? Nein" Five said aggressive.

"I can't believe this" Luther said "It was handed to us on a silver platter" Five said "Could you just moan a little softer?" Klaus said as he sat up "My head is killing me" he said as he put his hands to his ear.

"Listen to me, you useless puke bag, we just blew our chance to save the world!" Five said aggressive.

Then they heard the briefcase start charging and clicking and Five looked down on the briefcase before he let out a scoff "God damn it" he said annoyed.

"Shit" Zach said before he grabbed the briefcase and tossed it into the air.

The five watch as the briefcase disappeared in a soft blue light meaning that their chance of getting home was blown.

"And there goes our chance of getting home" Zach said.

"We were that close. That close" Five said with a sigh before he turned around to head back towards the building, scratching the back of his head.

"Now what?" Luther asked "Now nothing, Luther, all right? Make your peace with God" Five said aggressive "What? What about Allison and Vanya?" Luther asked "Screw them both. They should have been here" Five said.

"What about Diego? He's quite a responsbile young man, no?" Klaus asked.

Five angrily and aggressive ran across the alley before kicking a pile of boxes that was standing next to the dumpster.

The sound made Luna flinch before she started sobbing "It's okay Sweetheart, daddy is just mad, but it's okay" Natasha said as she comfort her daughter.

"Something must have happened to them" Luther said "Screw Diego, all right? Screw everybody! I was better off on our own in the apocalypse" Five said aggressive "Hey" Natasha said as she snapped her head to look at him "So you react meeting me, you react dating me, you react having our kids" Natasha said "That's not what I meant, what I mean was that I was better off in The Commission with you and Zach" he said "Nice save" she said.

"Five!" Luther shouted his name "Come on" he said and Five spun around, looking more aggressive "You know what, Luther? It's every siblings for themself now. How 'bout that?" he asked as he walked towards the back door of the building before slamming the door shut.

Luther looked at Klaus who let out a sigh "Did Five just get meaner?" he asked.

"Klaus, go check on Allison, okay? Make sure she's okay. Find the others and we'll meet back here. I'll handle Five" Luther told him "I will go with you" Natasha said "Me too" Zach before the three turned around and entered the building.

The three followed Five up the stairs, catching up to him "Hey! Five, doomsday is coming. We gotta think of a new plan" Luther said "Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead" Five said aggressive.

"Then where are you going?" Luther asked "I'm going to do the unthinkable" Five answered "The hell is that supposed to mean?" Luther asked and Five let out a sigh "I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this" he said "Come to what, Five?" Luther asked but he just walked into Elliott's apartment.

"Five!" Luther said as the three entered the apartment and Zach shut the door behind them "Come to what?" Luther asked as he knocked on the bedroom door, trying to get an answer out of Five "FIVE!" Luther shouted but nobody answer.

"I will talk to him" Natasha said before she gave Luna to Zach.

Natasha then opened the door "Hey" she said before she closed the door.

Five was sitting on the bed, looking down on the floor "You okay?" she asked "I scared Luna didn't I?" Five asked "A little. But it's okay. She is only a toddler. You were just upset and angry over your siblings didn't come, you are stress and that is okay" Natasha said "No it's not. I feel like I'm becoming my dad. I am a bad dad. I have failed you, Zach and Luna. I have failed all three of you" he said.

"Honey, you are not like your dad. You are a great dad. You haven't failed Zach. He loves you so much and he cares about you. He knows that everything you have done was for him and for us to have a normal life, for Zach to have a normal life" she said "A good dad wouldn't have risked his life, Nat" he said "Five is not your fault that we ended here. No one of us knew if it could work, but we all agreed. So stop saying you are not a good dad, because I know for a fact that you are the best. You are a great dad, both to Zach and to Luna and the things you think you failed with Zach, you can make it up with Luna" Natasha said as she crouched down in front of him before taking his face in her hand.

"I love you, okay" she said "I love you too and I love Zach and Luna so much" he said "They know, even so Luna is too young to know, she have a feeling about it, 'cause the second you hold her, she knew that you were her dad. And Zach don't judge you, he know why you are doing all of this" she said and he smiled.

"That things you talk about, doing the unthinkable. What did you mean?" she asked.

"Do you remember what day it is tomorrow?" he asked and she nodded "The president will arrive" she said "And that means--" and her eyes widened "Oh no" she said as she knew what he meant "Yeah" he said "Are you sure that is a good idea?" she asked "It's our only way" he said "How do you expect you do this?" she asked "I don't know" he said and she let out a sigh "I hope it work" she said "Me too" he said.

"Tomorrow is not gonna be a good day" she said and he shook his head "Nope" he said.

"Well, I think I will put Luna to bed" she said "And I will think of a way to find a plan" he said "Don't stress yourself, we are gonna figure it out together, okay" she said and he nodded before they pressed their foreheads against each other.

After a minute they pulled and Natasha kissed Five on the forehead before she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

"So what?" Luther asked "He is really stress so he need to think of another plan" she said "Did you know what he was talking about?" Luther asked and Natasha nodded "Then what is it?" he asked "You don't want to know" she said.
