CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX: SOUND WAVES

Diego was laying on the couch almost unconscious while Lila was sitting by him, cauterizing a stab wound on his side.

Zach was standing leaning against the wall, watching while Diego was gasping and screaming as Lila was burning the wound.

Zach was actually glad that Diego was going to be okay.

"Shh! Don't move. This thing is very finicky" Lila said "What happened?" Diego asked "I saved your stupid life" Lila answered "Actually I saved his life" Zach said "Yeah, but you wouldn't have gotten him out of there without me" Lila said.

"Were you following me?" Diego asked "Uh, hey, how about a little gratitude knife boy. If it wasn't for me, you'd be dead. That's twice now, by the way" Lila said.

Diego's eyes widened as he lifted his head before he looked down at himself to noticed that his clothes was missing and he only had a bed sheet to cover himself.

"Where are my clothes? The hell happened to my clothes?" he asked "I said, don't move" Lila said but Diego began to move and Lila dug the tool into his wound making a sizzling sound causing Diego to scream and groaning in pain before he laid back down, moaning from the pain. "There. That's better" Lila said "What a cry baby" Zach said.

Five let out a sigh as he entered the room "Oh. He isn't dead" he said as he was looking at Diego while he had his hands in his pockets.

"Disappointed?" Lila asked as Five walked towards the coffee table in front of the couch "Oh, to see you? Always" he said with a fake smile as he grabbed a white rag before walking back to stand by the doorway, pressing the rag against the wound on the side of his neck.

"So much hostility in such a tiny package. Did you cut yourself shaving? I could teach you to shave like a big boy, or maybe you and your little girlfriend did something dirty" Lila said.

"No, I just ran into an old family friend" Five said as he took the rag off his neck before looking at it.

Then there was a soft snoring sound causing Five to turn around to see Elliott still tied to the chair, sleeping.

"You didn't untie him?" he asked as he looked back at Lila "Was I supposed to?" Lila asked and Five rolled his eyes before he looked at Zach "Will you untie him?" he asked and Zach nodded.

Five then turned around before walking into the guestroom to see Natasha sitting on the floor with Luna between her legs.

"Hey" he said "You're back" Natasha said as she picked up Luna before walking over to Five.

"Hey love" he said and they gave each other a quick kiss.

Five then looked at Luna "Hey buttercup, dad missed you too" he said before giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"What happen?" Natasha asked as she saw the cut on Five's neck "Ran into baby Pogo" he replied "So you got scratch by a baby monkey?" Natasha asked "I didn't knew that he was gonna do that. Beside you have left worse scratch marks on me" Five said "And you on me. And also that one time where the morning after, we both couldn't walk without limping" she said "True. But we also did it more than one time that day" he said and she chuckled.

"Take Luna" Natasha said as she gave Five to Luna who grabbed her.

"Stay here, I will be right back" she said before leaving.

Five walked farther into the room before he sat down on the floor with Luna where some of her baby toys were.

"See here, Luna Bear, a horse" Five said as he picked up a toy horse, showing it to his daughter while he mimicked the sound of a horse which cause Luna to giggled before she grabbed the horse.

When Natasha came back with the first aid kit she saw Five sitting on the floor with Luna between his legs as she was playing with her toys.

She smiled at the sight of Five playing with their baby girl.

"Sweety" she said and Five looked up at her "Sit on the bed, so I can clean the wound" she said and Five got up before he sat down on the bed.

Natasha sat down next to him "Let me see" she said "It's nothing, it's just a scratch" he said "It is something, let me look" she said and he nodded before he moved his head so she could look at the cut.

She dip the rag in the water and started cleaning his cut on the neck, she had her head tilted so she could see his neck better.

Readjusting the rag in her hand, she started dabbing the blood around the cuts lightly before putting the rag on the small night table next to the bed.

She then grabbed a bottle of peroxide, before she flipped the cap open while Five just kept staring at her "If you keep staring at me like that, I will pour this peroxide down your damn eyes" she said before she began dipping the rag around the cuts causing him to flinch a bit "Sorry" she said "It's okay" he said as he kept staring at her "Why are you staring like that?" she asked "'Cause you are beautiful" he said and she blush.

"Done?" he asked "Done. But I think is gonna leave a scar" she said "It doesn't matter, it's always the scars you can't see that hurt the most" he said as he was thinking back to the apocalypse.

Luna then said a cute baby sound which cause Five to look at her before he smiled. "You did good Love, Luna is amazing and beautiful, you did a great job" he said "Well, you were part of it too" she said "Only at the start, you can say I did the easy part, you did the rest and the hard part" he said before he let out a sigh.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I'm sorry I screw it up, and because of that I missed being there for you through the pregnancy, and I missed Luna's birth, that's the second time I have missed the birth of our kids" he said and you could hear the guilt in his voice.

"Hey" she said as she put his face in her hands "Don't ever feel guilty, it could have being worse, everything you have done was to protect us and save your siblings, stop the apocalypse, if it wasn't for you, we all would have being dead, so you are a hero, and yeah of course it would have being better that you here while I was pregnant and when Luna was born, but you are here now, and that's the most important thing okay" she said and he nodded "I just feel guilty for missing both my son's and daughter's birth, you know?" he said "I know, but otherwise, you have being there for Zach all the time, you were there when he said his first words" she said "But not there when he took his first steps" Five said "Then it's good that Luna have not taking her first steps yet, so you will see them" she said and he smiled before they pressed their foreheads against each other.

"By the way do you still remember how to dance?" Five asked as they pulled away.

"Yeah, why?" Natasha asked "There is just something I wanted to ask you" he said "And that is?" she asked "I want to invite you to a dance with me" he said "Why are you talking about that right now?" she asked "It's just something that came to my mind. So what do you say?" he asked "Well, we don't have time to a dance" she said "But if we did. Like if we were at a gala or ball or party. Will you dance with me?" he asked "You know that I don't like dancing" she said "Yeah, I know, but one dance can't hurt" he said "Alright. The next ball, party or gala we are at. I promise you a dance. But only one dance" she said "I'm glad you say that" he said before he pulled up something from his pocket.

"Because..." he said before he handed her an envelope.

She grabbed it before she opened it to read what it said.

'MR. HOYT HILLENKOETTER and the COMSUKATE GENRAL OF MEXICO IN DALLAS CONDIALLY INVITE YOU TO A GALA'

She looked up at Five who sent her a smirk smile "You sneaky son of a bitch" she said before she gave the envelope back to Five who folded it before putting it in his pocket.

"Well, I will put the first aid kit back, you get some sleep 'cause I can assume that you have not slept in a long time and you deserve it" she said "Yeah, you are right" he said and she kissed his cheek before she grabbed the first aid kid and got up.

After washing her hands and putting the first aid kit back in the bathroom, she returned to the guestroom, but stopped and she smiled when she saw Five laying in bed asleep while Luna was laying close to him.

He was laying on his left side with his right arm on Luna's torso, while her tiny head was laying on his left arm.

Natasha smiled at the sight as she watch. Luna was still awake, but she was calm and she was playing with her dad's fingers on his right hand while Five was sleeping, his chest rose and fell peacefully.

Natasha smiled as she slowly closed the door "What is it?" Zach asked "Your dad is asleep" she said "Then we shall let him" Zach said Natasha nodded "Yeah, he has being through a lot, and he is exhausted, so I think we should let him rest" she said and he nodded.

Flashback start...

Five and Natasha was in The Commission's training room, training together.

Natasha threw a punch at Five who dodged it before he threw a punch at her but she moved to the side dodging the punch.

Five threw a punch at Natasha who dodged before she kicked him in the waist, causing him to stumbled back "Good" he said before he threw a punch at her, but she grabbed his wrist and kicked him in the stomach but he dodged it by stepping back.

Natasha threw a few punches at him, hitting him in the face a few times, but as she threw another punch, he grabbed her arm and turned it around, before he went behind her and wrapped his arm around her throat.

She turned her head so they were looking into each other's eyes and their lips was few inches apart.

She headbutted him cause him to stumble back, before she swung her legs under his, causing him to fall.

He then got up and threw a punch at her, but she grabbed his arm and turned it around, before she went behind him and wrapped her arm around his throat.

But he leaned forwards, lifting her up in the air before throwing her down on the floor making her hit the floor with a grunt.

Natasha got up and she swung her legs under his causing him to fall but as she was about to threw a kick at him, he blink away.

Five appeared behind her before he swung his legs under hers causing her to fall on the ground and as he was about to kick her, she wrapped her legs around his neck and with her strength, she pulled him down on the floor, but as she threw a kick at him, he kicked her in the waist causing her to fell down.

Five jumped up and landed on his feet before he threw a punch at her, but she block it, before she swung her legs under his, causing him to fell down on the floor, but then he kicked her in her stomach making her stumble back.

Natasha then threw a punch at Five, but he dodged it before he grabbed her arm and punched her in the face before he kicked her in the waist.

Five threw a punch at her but she quickly dodged it before she grabbed his arm, jumped up and spin around, swinging a kick towards him, hitting him in the stomach causing him to stumble back.

Natasha then jumped up in the air and swung a kick at him, hitting him one time before he reach to dodged the other kick.

He then threw a punch at her, hitting her in the face and as Natasha was about to threw a fist at him, he blink away.

Five then appeared behind her, causing her to turn around and he threw a punch at Natasha who block it with her arms.

Five blink before he appeared next to her and punch her in the face.

Natasha tried to punch him but everytime she threw a fist at him, he blink away.

But then a thought came to her mind, so when Five disappeared again, she stayed put before she closed her eyes.

Then she got a feeling in her body and she opened her eyes and as Five appeared on her left, she turned around and block his punch with her arms before she swept his legs, causing him to fell to the floor, she then put her foot on his throat.

But Five grabbed her foot before he push her off, causing her to fell to the floor.

They both got up and Five threw a kick at her, hitting her on the face causing her to fell on the floor with a grunt. "Ouch" she said "Oh my god. I'm so sorry, I got carry away" Five said before he stretched his hand towards her to help her up "You okay?" he asked.

She grabbed it, but then she smiled and she flipped him over, making him hit the floor with a grunt while she was standing up "Ouch" he said "Now, I am" she said with a smile as he was laying on the floor.

"First rule of battle strategy: Don't ever let your opponent distract you and never be distracted or lose focus" she said before she stretched her hand towards him to help him up "Yeah, gotta remember that" he said before he grabbed her hand, standing up. "Woah, you really are made to fight" he said and she smiled.

"I gotta said, that now when we started to trust each other and have actually became friends, we fight and train better" he said as they two walked over to a corner to get some water before they sat down next to each other.

"Yeah. Can you imagined that it was only two years we hated each other so much that we wanted to set each other on fire" she said as she took a ship of her water "Yeah and we hated each other for two years" he said also taking a sip of his water.

"Yeah, the first time we trained here, we almost killed each other" she said and he nodded "Yeah. But now when we trust each other and have become friends, our missions have also got better" he said "That was become we are communicating, we didn't do that before" she said "No, but that was only because we didn't listen, cared, like or respect each other and you can't work together or communicate like that" he said and she shook her head "It's funny how two people like us who hated each other so much as we did, actually became friends" he said "It's because we found out that we are not so different and that we can trust each other" she said and he nodded.

"You know what's funny" he suddenly said, breaking the silence and she looked at him "In the apocalypse, I had a record player and I would play anything I could find on it before I slept, because I wasn't used to sleeping in silence" he said "I'm sorry. That you have being through that" she said "Its okay, we can't get through life without going through some sort of pain" he said.

"Can I tell you something?" she asked and he nodded "That day we met, I was was actually about to commit suicide because I heated living in the Commission and being an agent of it. I knew nothing else but killing, fighting and stealing. I didn't have anything to fight or live for. I didn't have any family or friends left. I had nothing but my name. I was a nobody. I was in the darkest part of my life. I was in pain and I just wanted to make the pain stop. Kill the monter and killer inside of me before it got loose and to do that, I wanted to kill myself. But I was scared that some people would call me weak. But then I met you" she said and looked at him.

"And after slowly becoming friends. I started caring for you and I found something to live for, something to fight for" she said as they were looking at each other "You became my light in the darkness" she said.

"And you became my only hope" he said "I'm glad I met you. And I want you to know that, no matter what happens, or who we must face. I'm on your side. You can count on me. I'll always be with you" she said and he smiled.

"And I'm always going to be on your side too, no matter what" he said "And now we have being dating for a year" she said "And it has being the best year of my life" he said and she smiled "Me too" she said.

Her eyes widened "Oh my God, Five" she said "What do you think?" he asked "I love it" she said "Can I?" he asked and she nodded before she turned around and remove some of her hair so Five could put the necklace on her neck.

She could feel the cold jewel on her skin as he closed the locket.

"I will never take this off" she said "I'm glad you love it" he said "But why?" she asked "Well, I wanted to give to you this as a birthday gift, so happy birthday and also as anniversary present in that since we have being dating for a year" he said "Five, you know that we agree not to give gift" she said

"Still see this as a promise that no matter what happens we will never go back to being enemies, we will always be friends and partners in crime and as long as you wear this, a part of me will always be with you" he said and she looked at him "Can you promise me that we will never go back to being enemies again and that we will always be friends" he said and she nodded "I promise" she said and he smiled.

"But that is your lucky switchblade and pocket knife" he said "I know, and I want you to have them" she said "I can't take them, they belong to you" he said "Yes, and now they belong to you" she said and he looked at her "Beside I don't need them anymore" she said "Why?" he asked "Because I have something better" she said "What?" he asked "You and this necklace and that is all I need" she said and he smiled "Beside I still have my lucky hunting knife and dagger. So now take them before I change my mind" she said and he nodded as he took the switchblade and the pocket knife before putting them in his pocket.

"But, promise me that if one of us die, the other would live for the both of us and they would do their best to stay alive and live, okay?" she said and he nodded "I promise" he said as they smiled to each other.

But what they didn't know was that The Handler was watching them from farther up, on the other side of a window and she smiled evil as she looked down at the two.

Flashback ends...

Zach was sitting on the couch in the living room in Elliott's apartment while Natasha was in the kitchen, making some coffee.

Then suddenly an alarm started buzzing "Hey, we got one!" Elliott shouted as he dropped his spoon in his bowl with oatmeal.

"Hey, one of those machines you asked for is going crazy" Elliott said as Natasha, Zach and Five who was holding Luna rushed into the living room.

"Which one?" Five asked as the three stopped behind Elliott "It's the, uh, atmospheric radar" Elliott answered as he was looking at the green radar screen in front of them.

"Good" Five said "I don't get it. What are you tracking?" Elliott asked and turned to look at the two of you "A hurricane? A storm front?" he asked "Sound waves" Five answered "Sound waves" Elliott said "I need to go" Five said before he turned to Natasha "Here take her" Five said as he handed Luna to Natasha "I'm going with you" Natasha said as she handed Luna to Zach "Me too" Zach said before he turned to Elliott "Here watch her for us" he said, giving Luna to Elliott.

"Wow, I don't know how to take care of a baby" Elliott said as he was holding Luna "One time shall be the first" Zach said "Don't worry, I have changed her" Five said "And I have feed her, so she will probably fall asleep in a bit" Natasha said "If something happen to her while we are away, I will kill you" Five said before he grabbed his girlfriend's hand "Wow. What--" Elliott said but the three have already blink away.

"Where are you going?" Elliott called out but they were already gone.

"They are a bit weird, don't you think?" Elliott asked as he looked at Luna who was sitting on his left knee, holding a little stuff pingvin.

Luna looked at him and she said a cute baby sound before she bit her stuff pingvin "Okay, you are a cute little one" Elliott said as he smiled to Luna.

Natasha, Five and Zach appeared by a cornfield before they began walking forward while looking around as they walked past a part of the field that was a circle and the corn was knock down.

"Watch where you step" he said as they walked farther into the cornfield, they moved the cornstalks out of the way so they could get through.

Then Five almost tripped when they came into a small open area and Natasha and Zach let out a laugh which cause Five to glanced at them before he let out a softly scoffs "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up" he muttered "Don't be a dumbass then and watch where you are stepping" Natasha said "Just like you said to us, don't forget to do it yourself" Zach said with a chuckled "Very funny" Five said sarcastically even so he love to hear his girlfriend's giggled.

"There she is" Zach said as he pointed ahead and the three spotted Vanya sitting on the ground, hiding in between all the cornstalks, so they walked closer to her before they moved some of the cornstalks out of the way.

"Hi, Vanya" Five said with a smile "Who are you three?" Vanya asked as she slowly got up "She don't know who we are. That is weird" Zach said.

"I'm your brother" Five answered "I have a brother?" Vanya asked before she looked at Natasha "Who are you?" she asked "I'm Natasha, your brother's girlfriend and partner in crime" she replied "You have a girlfriend?" Vanya asked as she looked at Five "Yeah" Five said with a nod and Vanya looked at Zach "Who is he?" she asked "I'm their son, your nephew, it's good to see you again aunt Vanya" Zach said.

"Your son?" Vanya asked a bit surprised "But you all look likes teenagers" she said "Well, I'm 16, soon 17" Zach said "And the two of us are older than we look" Natasha said as she pointed between her and Five.

"Look, you can either stay here and wait for the IKEA mafia to come back to kill you, or you can come with us" Five said before he turned around "I will choose the second one" Natasha said before her and Zach also turned around.

"Wh...Why are they trying to kill me?" Vanya asked as she followed the three through the cornfield.

"'Cause you're not supposed to be here, Vanya" Five said as he pushed past some of the cornstalks "In Dallas?" Vanya asked, confused "No. Here, in 1963" Natasha said.

The four walked out to a large opening area in the middle of the cornfield with corn flattened.

Natasha, Zach and Five glanced at each other before stopping and turned around when they got few feet into the large circle.

"Holy shit" Vanya said with her eyes widened "Yeah, pretty wild, right?" Five said, looking back on the area before he turned to Vanya "It's good to see your powers are still intact" Zach said "Come on" Natasha said.

The four arrived at the nearby diner and they sat down by the counter.

The waitress gave coffee to Five, Natasha and Zach while Vanya just got water.

Five looked up from the mug as the waitress stopped pouring the coffee from the pot "Leave the pot, dear" Five said to her and she put the pot in front of Five next to his mug "Thank you" he said as he grabbed the pot before he poured more coffee into his mug.

The waitress turned around "Lippy little shit" she said as she walked away while Five put the pot down on the counter between Natasha and him.

"You three gonna tell me what the hell's going on?" Vanya asked as she was looking at the three "It's best that Five tells you, he have more experience" Natasha said and Vanya looked at Five.

"When you were a baby, you were bought by an eccentric billionaire. He raised you in an elite academy with six other siblings with extraordinary powers. But in the year 2019, in order to avoid the apocalypse, we jumped into a vortex and ended up being scattered throughout the timeline in Dallas, Texas" Five explain "Were you one of them?" Vanya asked Natasha and she shook her head "No. I first met this douchebag later" she said as she pointed her thumb on Five who turned his head to look at Vanya.

"Any questions?" he asked "What do you mean 'the apocalypse'?" Vanya asked shakily "I mean the end of the world as we know it" Five answered "Yeah, but how?" Vanya asked "It means that everyone will die" Zach said "Everything is destroyed and there's not a single life left on the planet" Natasha said "But how and why does it happen?" Vanya asked "You really don't remember anything?" Five asked "No, nothing before a month ago" Vanya said "Then what do you remember?" Five asked.

"I landed in, like a...back alley. Got hit by a car. My head was ringing like crazy. I had no idea how I got there, where I came from" Vanya said and Natasha looked at her with a sympathetic look.

"What causes the apocalypse?" Vanya asked as she looked at the couple.

The three glanced at each other, they couldn't tell Vanya the truth, not yet.

The three then looked back at Vanya before letting out a sigh. "Asteroid impact" Zach started "The big kaboom ends everything. Just like the one that got the dinosaurs except way worse" he said as he picked up his mug "Bad news is, it followed us here" Five said and Vanya looked at him "What do you mean 'followed us'?" she asked and Five looked at her "When we left, we took the bomb with us. So now there's another apocalypse" Natasha said "Eight days from now, the world ends in a nuclear doomsday. It's a different disease, but...same result" Five said.

"That can't be right" Vanya said, tilting her head "I saw it. With my own eyes" Five said before he let out a sigh "You were there. Zach and Nat was there. We all were" he said "Shit" Vanya said, shaking her head "I need to make a phone call" she said before getting up her seat, walking over to a phone that was on the wall.

"Vanya" Five said, turning in his seat "Let her make her call. She probably calling someone that she cares about" Natasha said, before taking another sip of her coffee.

After a minute Five and Natasha looked at each other "This is taking too long" Five said "Yeah, and we need to hurry" Zach said before they walked over and Natasha ended the call "What the hell?" Vanya asked looking at the three "We don't have time for this" Five said "That's my friend and you just hung up on" Vanya said, looking at Natasha.

"Listen to me" Five said, grabbing Vanya's shoulders "Those people from the field are coming after us" he said "They are never going to stop" Natasha said "They are right, they will come and you will bring everyone near you in danger" Zach said "Do you understand us?" Five asked softly "We need to stick together, find the others and figure out how to stop doomsday. Whoever this person is, they can't be more important than the end of the world" he said before he removed his hands from her shoulders "We need to go" he said and Vanya place the phone back with a sigh.

Natasha, Zach, Five and Vanya arrived at a fight club and they spotted Luther inside a boxing ring fighting against another huge guy.

The crowd was cheering and shouting as the three walked through the crowd before they moved closer to the ring so they could see better.

"Isn't he suppose to be strong?" Natasha asked as they saw Luther getting beating up by the other huge guy.

"Look, he's pummeling him" Vanya said "Hit me again" Luther said to the guy and the guy punched him across the face.

"I thought Luther had super strength, why is he getting his ass beathing by this guy?" Zach asked.

"Again! Hit me!" Luther said "Luther, are you crazy? Just hit him!" Five shouted "Come on, Luther!" Jack shouted "Hit me. I wanna feel pain. I wanna feel all the pain. Give me everything you've got!" Luther said and the guy threw a punch at him so hard that he flew off the ground causing the crowd to be quiet and Vanya's and Five's eyes widened in shock.

"That's must have hurt" Zach said as Luther landed on his back and the crowd started shouting again before angry shouts was heard.

"Shit. Luther" Five said "Why didn't he fight back?" Vanya asked.

Lila and Diego was laying in bed after they have slept together.

Lila slowly sat up from the bed before taking her clothes on and left slowly, so she didn't woke up Diego.

She walked out of the apartment and into a pet shop. She walked over to some puppies "Hi, little guy" she said to a puppy.

She then walked over to a small fish tank before she dipped her hand down, grabbing a small treasure chest before taking it out.

She opened it to found a golden room key with the number 217 on.

She took the key before walking out of the pet shop.

Lila arrived at the motel before she used the key, opening a door before she enter "I'm late, I know" she said as she enter, looking around.

"All kind of crazy going on outside" she said and she grabbed an envelope before she flopped down on the bed "Hey, can I order room service? I'm starving" she said.

The Handler exited the bathroom as she was brushing her hair "Of course. You deserve it" she said and Lila sat up before she smiled "Thanks, Mum" she said before she got up, walking over to The Handler and kissed her on the cheek.
