CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: THE SURPRISE

The next morning Five and Elliott was in the living room.

"Elliott, did you develop these photos yourself?" Five asked while Elliott was eating some oatmeal "Of course. Can't exactly drop that stuff off at the neighborhood Fotomat. Government has eyes everywhere" Elliott said as he was eating some oatmeal while Five picked up the tape.

"I didn't see a darkroom" Five said as he turned around to look at Elliott "Yeah, I converted the hallway closet" Elliott said and pointed towards the hallway while Five picked up a black pen and scribbled out the date above the title of the tape making a squealing feedback sound as he stepped closer to Elliott who was messing with the knobs.

"Can you develop this?" he asked, showing the tape to Elliott "Hmm" Elliott said as he turned to Five before he grabbed the tape with his free hand and flipped it over, to read the back "Huh' Frankel Footage' Friends of your?" Elliott asked "Cousins on my robot mother's side" Five answered "Can you do it or not?" he asked.

"Sure I can" Elliott answered "How long?" Five asked "Well, I mean, I'm running low on acetic acid" Elliott said as he turned around, taking some slowly steps "Beeker's Cameras is open today, but it's two miles away" he said as he was moving his head "I mean, I'd have to take the bus. On the other hand, Gibson's is only ten blocks away, but I gotta cut through the park, and there's pigeons--" "Elliott" Five said, cutting him off, telling him to get to the point. "It's like five, maybe six hours" Elliott said.

Then a voice came over the radio "Attention all units, we hav a code 3-15 at the Holbrook Sanitarium" the man over the radio said and the two turned to the radio "The hell is a code 3-15?" Five asked "Fugitives on the run" Elliott answered and the two walked over to the radio before Five turned up the volume.

"Twenty-five patients still at large. Many are considered armed and dangerous" the man said.

"Oh, Diego" Five whispered "Oh, who's Diego?" Elliott asked "Imagine Batman, then aim lower" Five said while he lowered his hand as the sound of radio chatter continues indistinctly was heard.

"You get started on the film" Five said to Elliott as he walked over to the kitchen "I will be back as soon as I can" Five before he blinked away causing Elliott to inhale sharply.

A song was softly playing over the radio as Diego and his inmate friend Lila was sitting in a car, just watching a building.

"All right, here's the plan: Oswald finishes his shift at 4:30 p.m. Once he walks out those doors we force him into the front seat" Diego said "I'm in the front seat" Lila said "Okay, fine. In the back seat. You're gonna pin his arms, I'm gonna cut off his trigger finger and tell him he had 24 hours to exit Dallas" Diego said "That's your plan?" Lila asked "You got a problem with it?" Diego asked "Well, why don't we just kill him?" Lila asked "What?" Diego asked "I mean, you think he's gonna shoot the president, right?" Lila said "Right" Diego said "Fine, so we kill him. Put a bullet between his eyes. Problem solved" Lila said "Oh, no, no, we're not going to kill a man before he's committed a crime" Diego said "That's stupid" Lila said.

"Excuse me?" he asked "In fact, your whole plan is stupid. What, chopping off a guy's finger?" she said "No, it's not just any finger, it's his trigger finger, all right? You can't shoot a gun without a trigger finger" he said "What if he's ambidextrous? How do you get through a day?" she asked "Get out. I can do this on my own" he said "Dr. Moncton was right, this hero complex is no joke" she said "That is not what this is about" he said "Of course it is. You want to prove to Daddy that you're big success" she said "Not, you don't know anything about me" he said "I know everything about you. You...You are an open book written for very dumb children" she said "I'm not trying to be a hero, okay?" he said.

Five appeared in the back seat behind them, but Diego and Lila didn't noticed him.

"Then why are you doing this?" Lila asked "Because he is an idiot" Five said causing Lila to jump and turned around to see Five behind them.

"Who the hell are you?" Lila asked in her English accent before looking around, wondering how the boy got inside the car without them noticing "Hi. I'm his loving brother" Five said, waving while giving her a fake smile.

"Who left me to rot in the nuthouse" Diego said "To protect you from yourself" Five said "That's quite sweet" Lila said "Okay, both of you, out" Diego said and Five looked at him "Lose the crazy lady and come with me. We have important business" he said "I'm not going anywhere with you" Diego said.

Five looked to his left to look out the window and he spotted a police officer that was walking down the path opposite them.

"Okay, fine" he said before he moved over to the window and stuck his head out with a mischievous smile "Officer!" he called out "Hey!" Diego said quietly, grabbing Five's arm before pulling him back "What are you doing?" he asked as he reached over the front seat to lean closer to Five.

"I hear there's a reward out for you two" Five said "He's bluffing" Lila said and Five narrowed his eyes at Diego that was staring at him.

"He's not. Fine. I'll go with you" Diego said "What about me?" Lila asked causing the two to look at her "And I'm bringing the crazy lady" Diego said causing Lila to smile.

The three reach the building before they enter.

When they reached the top and walked into the living room, they stopped before looking around.

"Where did you get the film?" Elliott asked as he walked into the room with a rifle pointing at the three "The Frankel Footage' The truth this time" he said "You two know this lunatic?" Diego asked Five and he let out a sigh "New acquaintance. He's harmless" Five said "Are you sure about that?" Lila asked as she was looking at Elliott that was pointing the rifle at you which cause her to think otherwise.

"Are you or are you not an enemy of the people?" Elliott asked and they all stared at him.

Five and Diego glanced at each other "Such an open-ended question, yeah" Diego said "It really depends on the people" Five said.

"You move one more muscle, I will blow your brains out" Elliott threatened "You want to take this or should I?" Diego asked while looking down at his hands as he nodded his head to Five "No, I got him" he said

"Hey, Lila..." Diego said causing Lila to look at him and while he was distracting her, Five blinked away.

Five appeared in front of Elliott, grabbing the gun before pushing the rifle up causing Elliott to shoot the ceiling making dust fell from the ceiling above them and Diego took a step forwards, grabbing the rifle from Elliott as he let out a gasp.

"What the hell just happened?" Lila asked confused as she had her hands up while Diego empty the rifle, making the bullets fall to the floor.

"You two take care of this. Set the project up" Five said before he turned around "Where are you going?" Diego asked "To get someone" Five said before he blink away.

Five appeared in the apartment "Honey, I'm home!" he called and Natasha walked out of a bedroom "Told you I would be back" he said "So did you devolved the tape?" she asked "Nope, but I found Diego and he is setting up the project, I came here to get you and Zach. So ready to save the world again?" he asked and she smiled "Of course I am" she said and he smiled as he approached her.

"You know we still have a few minutes I think" he said "Then we better do it quickly" she said and he smiled before he pressed his lips against hers.

Then suddenly a baby's crying was heard which cause Five to pull away.

"What is that?" he asked as he looked around "There is someone I want you to meet" she said as she took some steps back "Stay here" she said before she turned around and walked into a bedroom.

After a few seconds she walked back into the living room with a little toddler in her arms.

"This is Luna Grace Hargreeves-Romanoff, your daughter" Natasha said and Five's eyes widened "Really?" he asked and she nodded before she handed him the toddler.

A single tear of joy felled from Five's eyes as he was looking down at his baby girl "I found out I was pregnant a few days after I landed here" she said "But the last time we had..." "Yeah, in 2019. Zach and I landed here 15 February 1962. We have being here for a year and nine month" she said and Five smiled as he looked back at Luna who was looking at him.

He was sad over that he have now missed both of his children's birth. He felt guilty.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't there, that's the second time I miss my child's birth" he said "It's okay" Natasha said "No it's not, I feel like I'm failing, I'm failing being a good boyfriend, I'm failing being a good dad" Five said.

"No" Zach said and Five turned towards him to see him walked out of his bedroom "Both you and mom have done an amazing job, and you will both do just as an amazing job with Luna. Don't ever doubt yourself, you are the best dad in the world" Zach said and Five smiled.

The Luna said a sound, putting her hand on Five's cheek which cause him to smile before he turned to look at her "Hey, Luna bear, I'm your dad, I'm sorry I wasn't there, but I'm here now and I'm not leaving ever again" Five said as he was looking at his baby girl.

She said a little sound before putting her tiny hand on his nose "She knows that you are her daddy" Natasha said and Five smiled as another tear of joy felled from his eyes "She is just as beautiful as her mom" he said.

Five enter Elliott's apartment to see Elliott tied up to a chair and Diego have putting the project up.

"I can see you managed to put it up" Five commented "Look who decided to show up" Diego said as he looked at his brother.

"I'm sorry for wanted to see my girlfriend and son" Five said "So you found Natasha?" Diego asked "Yeah, they will be here in a bit" Five said "How are they?" Diego asked and Five smiled "They seemed to be fine" he said before smiling even more "What are you smiling at?" Diego asked.

"Hey Diego" a voice said and Diego turned towards the sound to see Natasha, holding a toddler in her arms while Zach was standing next to her.

"Hey Natasha, hey Zach" Diego said before he looked at the toddler in Natasha's arm "Who is this little one, are you babysitting?" Diego asked "Nope, this Luna, mine and Five's daugther" Natasha said and Diego's eyes widened "I was pregnant when I landed here and have being here since February 1962" she said "Well, congratulations, she is beautiful" Diego said before he grabbed the little girl's finger "Hey little one, I'm your uncle Diego" he said before he shook her hand which cause her to laugh.

While Diego and Natasha was busy with Luna both Zach and Five noticed that Lila kept glancing at Luna, which cause Five to get suspicious of her, he didn't like the way Lila was looking at his daugther.

"Well, let's get to work" Five said before he walked over to Natasha "Can I?" he asked as he opened up his arms "Of course, she is your daugther too" Natasha said before giving Luna to Five.

"Hey Luna bear" Five said, kissing her on the cheek "I think I'm gonna hold her the most, catch up for all the time I missed" he said as he looked at his girlfriend who smiled.

Diego had put the projector up in the kitchen, Elliott was tied to a chair with something in his mouth so he couldn't speak while Lila began polishing his toenails with green nail polish.

Diego sat down on the kitchen counter with his head leaned back against the cabinet.

Zach was standing on the left side of the projector while Natasha was sitting down as Five was standing on her right, holding Luna in his arms while they were all staring at the projection screen that they had put up.

Natasha, Zach and Five was really focus watching the tape. Both of them focus on the smallest little things on the tape, to make sure that they didn't miss anything.

"Is it on?" a older woman asked over the tape "I don't know" a older man said "What do you mean? There's an 'on' button. Just--" the old woman said "There's something over...that jigga-ma-thing, whatever. I hit the jigga-ma-thing" the man said "Okay, well, just--Give it to me. I know how to do this" the woman said "All right, here" the man said and the man gave the woman the camera, "Here. Hurry up" the man said "Okay, all right, let's see...." the woman said.

"They're so cute. I love old couples. I'm always so proud of them for not murdering each other" Lila said "Which is why we should be proud of Natasha and Five for not murdering each other" Diego said "Trust me there was many times where both Five and I wanted nothing more than to murder each other" Natasha said "Really?" Lila asked "Yeah. More than you can think of. I still have the scare from that time she almost killed me in the training room" Five said, still not taking his eyes off the screen as he readjust Luna in his arms "But we don't want to do that anymore" Natasha said before Zach looked at Lila "Why are you painting his toes?" he asked "He looks like he wanted one" Lila replied in her British accent and Elliott let out a muffled sound.

Diego then turned his head to look at Five "Why are we watching this?" he asked "Shush" Five said "Yeah, I'm...Dan Frankel. And..." "I'm Edna Frankel" the woman said, cutting the man off "...Edna Frankel. We are in Dallas, Texas, to see the president. Today's date is November 22, 1963" Dan said and Diego turned his head to look at the screen.

"Well, that's six days from now" Lila said "Holy shit. This is it. The grassy knoll. Kennedy's about to get shot" Diego said before he looked at Five "How do you have this?" he asked "Hazel died to get me this footage. It must be the key to stopping doomsday" Five said "Hazel?" Diego asked "Long story" Five said "What's doomsday?" Lila asked "Longer story" Five answered.

"What exactly did he say to you?" Diego asked "Well, he was killed before he could explain" Five said "But whatever he wanted us to see, it's on this film. Otherwise he wouldn't have giving it to Five" Natasha said "Exactly my Love" Five said and Diego watched the tape with more interest.

"This is very exciting" Dan said but the sound of gunshots on the tape was heard and people started screaming "Oh, my God!" Dan said and Edna dropped the camera on the ground.

"Oswald" Diego said "The president" Dan said as the camera started moving around.

"Oh, no" Five said "Wait" Zach said "There" Natasha said "I saw it too" Five said and Zach took a step back and started rewinding the tape a little bit causing the film to make a whirring noise.

"Stop it there" Five said as he was still holding Luna and Zach stopped it at a certain point before he rolled the projector a bit away from the screen so only some certain amount of the tape was on the screen causing the picture to get bigger.

"This can't be" Five whispered before he looked Natasha "Can you take Luna" he said and she stood up "Here you go" he said, giving Luna to Natasha who sat down again.

"There is no way" Five whispered as he walked towards the screen while Diego got up also with widened eyes "Is that..." Zach said "Yeah" Five said.

"Okay, you gonna fill me in now, guys? What the hell is this shit we're watching" Lila asked as Five and Diego walked towards the screen causing both their shadows reflecting in front of them.

"No, that's impossible" Diego said "Clearly, it's not" Five said "What. What is it?" Elliott muffled.

"Dad" Five and Diego said as they saw their Dad standing on a grassy knoll, holding an open black umbrella.
