CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: LOOKING FOR HAROLD JENKINS.

WEDNESDAY. 8:15 am (...Again) 

"Hold on. Hold on the phone. We all died fighting this thing the first time around. Remember?" Klaus said "Klaus, shockingly, has a point. What gives us a win this time?" Diego asked.

But then there was an electricity crackled noise before sudden bright flashing light appeared right above the middel of the bar counter causing everyone to look up.

There was a loud static crackling sound coming from the ceiling.

Blue light filled the air right above the middle of the bar before Natasha and Five fell through the blue light and onto the top of the counter and Zach smiled when he saw his parents

Five landed on the top of the briefcase while Natasha landed in front of him also on the top of the counter.

"Je---Jesus!" Allison said as everyone jumped back while the couple

Five had a giant crimson red stain from the side of his shirt and a few spots of blood on his shirt. His hands also had blood on them.

"You guys, am I still high or do you see them, too?" Klaus asked "Five and Natasha, where have you two been?" Luther asked as Natasha and Five rolled off the counter, but when they both rolled off, they almost fell to the floor.

"Are you two all right?" Diego asked as he caught Natasha, stopping her from falling while Allison and Luther grabbed Five's arms, keeping him from falling as they helped him to stand up.

"Who did this?" Luther asked "Irrelevant" they said as Five took Allison's coffee from her.

"Give me that" Natasha said as she took Luther's coffee "You know if you wanted my coffee, you could have just ask" Luther said "I could, if I respected you" she said before her and Five grunted slightly and took a few steps forward so their backs was facing the siblings.

Zach approached his parents "Glad you two are back" he said "Hey Sweetheart, are you okay?" Natasha asked and Zach nodded "Fine. What about you two?" Zach asked "We're fine buddy" Five said before he looked at his girlfriend "Love, are you okay?" he asked and she looked at him before she gave him a small slap across the face "Idiot" she said "Ouch" he said "I warned you that I would slap you if we land like this again" she said "Sorry. But I'm fine too, thanks for asking" he said sarcastically before they both drank the coffee causing them to let out a slurping sound.

The couple let out a sigh when they both turned around slowly to look at the others.

"So, the apocalypse is in three days. The only chance we have to save our world is, well, us" Five said "The Umbrella Academy" Luther said "No, dumbass, The Avengers" Natasha and Zach said sarcastically and Luther looked at them "The Umbrella Academy of course, who did you thought of" Natasha said "I really want to one what you have between your ears Luther, 'cause is not brain" Zach said and Luther sent him angry glare.

"But with me, Nat and Zach, obviously. So if y'all don't get your sideshow acts together and get over yourself, we're screwed. Who cares if Dad messed us up? Are we gonna let that define us? No" Five said "And to give us a fighting chance to see next week, Five and I have come back with a lead" Natasha said as she held up a piece of folded paper.

"We know who's responsible for the apocalypse" Five said and Allison stuck out her hand towards Natasha who handed her the paper.

"This is who we have to stop" Five said as Allison unfolded the paper while Diego looked over her shoulder, so he also could see it.

"Harold Jenkins?" Allison read "Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?" Diego asked and they all looked up at the couple while they were both drinking the rest of their coffee.

When they were done, they both threw the cups across the room "We don't know...yet" Natasha "But we do know that's he's responsible for the apocalypse" Five said "So we have to find him. And we have to do it now" Natasha said.

"How is he connected to what's gonna happen?" Luther asked "I don't know" Five said "Wait, so you just know his name? That's it?" Diego asked "That's enough" Natasha said "My parents are right, this is better than nothing. It's better than walking around with no idea on how to stop the apocalypse" Zach said.

"There's probably dozen of Harold Jenkinses in this city" Diego said "Well, we better start looking then" Five said "I'm sorry. Am I the only one that's skeptical here?" Allison asked.

Five grunted and he started feeling some pain in his waist causing him to winced with a small quiet groan while he looked down on his side and clutched onto the side as he tried to support himself up which Natasha noticed "Honey, you okay?" she whispered to him and he looked at her "I'm fine, don't worry about it" he said.

"I mean, how exactly do you know all of this about what's his name?" Allison asked "Harold Jenkins. You know those lunatics in masks who attacked the house?" Five asked "Oh, yeah, I think I remember those guys" Klaus said "Yeah, the ones that attacked us while you two were getting drunk" Diego said as he was looking at the couple.

"Yeah. Them. They were sent by the Temps Commission to stop me and Natasha from coming back and preventing the end of life on Earth" Five said "The Temps what?" Allison asked "Our former employer" Zach said "They monitor all of time and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen...happens. They believe the apocalypse is coming in three days" Natasha said "So Nat and I went to Commission headquarters and intercepted a message that was meant for said lunatics" Five said "'Protect Harold Jenkins' So he must be responsible for the apocalypse" Zach finished.

There was a few seconds of silence before they all spoke up at the same time.

"What do you mean, protect time and space?" Allison asked "Where is this Hazel, Five?" Diego asked "My skin is on fire" Klaus said "Do you have any idea how insane this sounds?" Allison asked and Natasha rolled her eyes while Five looked down on his side again "I'm gonna die surrounding by the biggest and weirdest idiots in the world" she mumbled under her breath "They really don't understand anything" Zach said.

"You know what else is insane?" Five asked, looking up at the others "Me and my girlfriend looked like 17-year-old kids" Five said as he pointed on himself and Natasha before he pointed on Zach "Even our son look older than us" Five said before he pointed on Klaus "Klaus talks to the dead and Luther think he's fooling everybody with that overcoat" Five said and everyone turned to Luther who looked uncomfortable.

"Everything about us is insane. It always has been" Five said "He's got a point there" Klaus said "We didn't choose this life, we're just living it. For the next three days, anyway" Five said "But the last time we tried to stop it, we all died. Why is this time any different? Why shouldn't I go home to my daughter?" Allison asked "Because this time, we are here" Zach said "He's right. Me, Zach and Nat are here" Five said "Yeah. We have the name of the man responsible" Natasha said "Guys, we actually have the chance of saving the lives of billions of people" Five said and Allison lowered her head "Including Claire" Five said and Allison looked at him "You know her name?" she asked "I do, and I'd like to live long enough to meet her" Five said "And I would also like for me and Zach to know you guys better" Natasha said "Yeah, I don't mind knowing my uncles and aunts better" Zach said.

"All right. Let's get this bastard" Allison said, walking forwards towards the family "You had me at Gerald Jenkis" Diego said "Harold Jenkins" Zach corrected him "Whatever. I've already lost two people this week, I'm not losing anyone else" Diego said before walking forward towards Allison.

Five then looked at Luther "And Luther?" he asked "Yeah, you go. I'm gonna stay and go through Dad's files. I still thinks this has something to do with why he sent me to the Moon" Luther said "Would you shut up about that moon" Zach said "Do you really think that your Dad sent you to the moon for four years have something to do with the end of the world?" Natasha asked.

"Yeah I think it has something to do with that" Luther answered.

"Seriously? Now you wanna make the end of the world about you and Dad?" Diego asked "No 'Watch for threats 'That's what he told me. You think that's coincidence? This all has to be connected somehow" Luther said "No, we should all stick together" Allison said "We don't have time for this" Five said "Let's roll. I know where we can find this asshole. Klaus, you're with me" Diego said and looked at Klaus.

"Yeah. I..I'm good. I think I'll, uh..." Klaus said as he stood up from a couch "I think I'll pass, I'm...feeling a little under the weather, so, uh..." he said and groaned before he left the room.

"So it's just us five?" Zach asked "It's better than nothing. Let's go" Five said "Wait" Natasha said and they all looked at her.

"There is just something I need to quickly do" she said and she walked up to Luther before she clenched her fist, swinging the fist up to his head, punching him right in the nose "Oh, Jesus" Luther said, holding his hands to his nose as he stumble back while the others let out a gasp as it happen.

"That was from before" she said aggressive before she grabbed the collar of his shit and pulled him down so he was in eye level with her and you could see the fear in Luther's eyes.

"Five, are you not going to do something?" Allison asked, looking at Five who shook his head "No" he said before he let out a smile "Isn't she amazing?" he asked, smiling while looking at Diego and Allison with a proud smile "Luther deserved it for what he did earlier" Five said.

"If you do something like that to me again, I'll cut your fucking hand off and shove it down your throat, you worthless piece of shit" she said angry "Got it" and Luther nodded in fear "Good" she said before she let go of him.

Luther then put his hand to his nose again "Why the aggressive?" he asked, removing his hand "Is it your time of the month?" he asked "Wouldn't you like to know that?" Natasha asked.

"Damn, I think you broke my nose" he said "It's not broken, if I wanted to break it, trust me, it would be broken. Beside it will past, so man up, space boy" Natasha said before she walked over to Five and the others "That's my girl" Five said with a smile as he put an arm around her shoulders before kissing the side of her head.

"Now we can go" she said and five left the Academy "I have never wanted you more" Five whispered to her which cause her to smile.

Diego stopped the car near the police station. Diego have suggested to find a record of Harold Jenkins.

Five was sitting on the font next to Diego while Allison, Natasha and Zach was sitting in the backseat.

"I know this Jenkins due has to have a record" Diego said, unbuckling his seatbelt "We just gotta get our hands on this" he said "And your plan is what? Waltz in there and just ask for it?" Natasha asked "I know the station like the back of my hand, Natasha. I've spent a lot of time inside" Diego said "Handcuffed" Allison said "Whatever. Here's the plan" Diego said "Plan?" Five asked and Diego turned to him "Zach and I just gonna blink in and get the file" he said "We can do that" Zach said.

"No, that's...You two don't know the ins and outs of this place, okay?" Diego said "I literally just did this yesterday" Five said "What?" Diego asked "Our yesterday not your yesterday" Natasha said "It'll take us two seconds" Zach said "Why don't we just go?" Five asked "It's easier" Natasha said "Both my dad and I used to do it almost everyday" Zach said.

"Listen to me, you are not going in there. I made a call. That's what a leader does. He leads" Diego said "I thought Luther was the leader" Zach teased "Shut up Zach" Diego before they all got out of the car.

As Diego walked into an alley next to the station, Allison went over to a phone booth while Five, Natasha and Zach was standing behind her, leaning up against a wall.

"So what is the plan when we have done all of this?" Zach asked "I think it's time for us to live a normal life" Natasha said before she looked at Zach "No more Commission for us, you deserve a normal and peaceful life. Go to a normal school, have friends, fall in love" Natasha said "Yeah, maybe that wouldn't hurt" Zach said.

Then Diego came back and Allison hung up the phone.

"So?" Zach asked and Diego pulled out the file, showing it to him. Five was about to take the file but Diego leaned it away from him "You're welcome" he said.

Allison took the file before she started flipping the pages trying to find something they could used.

She stopped when she reach the page where there was a mugshot of the guy.

"Holy shit" she said "What?" Diego asked and she turned the file so the others could see "Harold Jenkins is Leonard Peabody" Allison said "Hey, that look like the guy that was with Vanya earlier" Zach said "It's Vanya's boyfriend" Allison said.

Diego stopped the car by Leonard Peabody's house and the five got out of the car.

"Be careful, okay? We don't know what Peabody's capable of" Allison said as the four walked up to his house and both Natasha and Zach noticed how Five started limping after them "You okay?" she asked "Yeah, I just felled and hit myself on the counter. It's nothing" Five lied "Are you sure?" Zach asked "I'm fine" Five lied.

"Yeah, he didn't seem dangerous when I first saw him. Looked kinda scrawny" Diego said "Yeah, well, so are most serial killers and mass murderers" Allison said before she turned to Zach, Natasha and Five "I mean look at them" she said "Thanks" the family said, taking it as a compliment.

"Good point. So what's this guy want with Vanya?" Diego asked "I don't know. How about we ask him after we kill him?" Natasha asked as they walked up the steps to the porch "I'm good with that" Five said.

"Whoa, whoa. Hey, look, I'm gonna burst through---" Diego said but stopped himself when they noticed that Allison was no longer behind them "Where is Allison?" he asked "I think she went around back, through a open window" Zach said.

"You know what? It would be nice for people just to stick to---" but Diego didn't reach to finish the sentence as Five and Zach blinked away.

"The plan" Diego finished "They can't hear you, Diego" Natasha said "Great" Diego said "So, let's see how do we get in" she said but then Diego then took a step back "Diego, wait, what are you doing?" Natasha asked as Diego ran towards the door "Don't" Natasha said but Diego jumped through the window in the door causing glass to shattered as he landed on the floor with a grunt.

"Subtle" Allison said as her and Five walked over to him "Nice work, Batman" Zach said before Natasha grabbed the doorknob, opening the door "You could have also just have tried the doorknob. You know, since the door was unlock" she said as she entered the house.

"Yeah, well, my way works just fine" Diego said, getting up before he brushed some shards of glass away from his clothes "Spread out. Yell if you, uh...you know, you're in trouble" he said as he walked away to search the house.

"Who left him in charge?" Zach asked "Ah, inspiring leadership" Five said sarcastically "One of the greats" Allison added "Maybe we should take notes" Natasha said sarcastically

They all started spreading out, to search for something important.

"Guys, you need to see this" Allison called out from upstairs and they all ran upstairs to see what she have found.

They climbed up the ladder to the attic and as soon as they were up, they all looked around the room.

"Holy shit" Zach and Natasha said as they saw the Umbrella Academy picture and posters with their eyes scratched out and the action figures faces' was burnt off.

"Our faces are brunt off" Allison said "Well, that's not creepy at all" Natasha said sarcastically "This guy's got some serious issues" Zach said "Shit" both Allison and Diego said "This guy most really hate you guys. What the hell did you guys do to make him have a murder shrine on you?" Natasha asked and Five looked down at his side, before putting his hand to it.

"This was never about Vanya" Allison said and Five started to get worse, causing him to start gasping. He felt like he was about to lose consciousness from the pain.

"This was about us" Allison said and Natasha looked at Five to noticed that he started gasping softly as his body lost balance a bit while he looked down at his side "You alright? Seriously, you look worse than usual, and I didn't even know that was possible" she whispered to him.

Then Five felt blood running down his right leg and he let out a sigh as he looked down on his side before he lost balance and felled to the floor making a thump noise.

"Shit, Five!" Natasha said "Dad" Zach said as the two rushed to his side before crouching down "Hon, what's wrong?" Natasha asked "Five. Wh---" Allison said as her and Diego crouched down next to him while he started groaning.

Natasha put her hand on his forehead "He's very warm, he's burning up" she said before she looked at Allison and Diego.

"Look at his side, he's been looking at it since we got back" Zach said "Wh...Blood" Allison said as they noticed blood on Five's shirt by his waist.

Diego and Allison lifted up his shirt to reveal a bullet wound by his side as some part of his stomach was covered in blood while the bullet was still in the wound.

"No, no, no" Natasha said with tears in her eyes "Dad" Zach said.

"Jesus, Five. You were shot?" Diego said and Natasha looked at him "No, you moron. He was stabbed with a bullet" she said sarcastically "What do you think?" she asked before she looked back at Five "You asshole, acting all high and mighty" she said "Why didn't you say anything?" Diego asked "When did this happen?" Natasha ane asked "At The Commission" Five whispered.

"You moron. Why didn't you say anything?" Natasha asked but he didn't answer as he starte closing his eyes "No, hon. Keep your eyes open" she said as she put her hands on his cheeks "You have to keep going. So...close" Five mumbled before he passed out from the pain.

"Five, Five!" Natasha said as she grabbed his shoulders before she shook him "No. No, no, no. Five open your eyes, come on. Stay with me. Honey!" Natasha shouted with tears in her eyes while she shook him, trying to wake him up.

"Dad" Zach said with tears in his eyes.

"No, no, no. Don't you dare leave us. Five, you stay with us. You stay with us. HONEY!" Natasha shouted before she put his face in her hands "Stay with us Five. You promised not to leave us, so you stay with me, you stay with us. Stay with us, please" Natasha cried.

"We need to get him out of here. We need to get help, get him to the hospital or something. I don't care where. We just need to get that bullet out" Zach said and Diego lifted Five up in his arms before the four rushed to the car.

As they got to the car, Diego put Five in the backseat with Natasha and Zach before him and Allison got to the front seat.

Zach then tore a little piece of his shirt off and wrapped it around the wound before he put both his hands on his dad's waist pressing his hands against the wound to stop the bleeding "It will help stop the bleeding" he said.

Natasha put Five's head on her lap and she moved some pieces of his hair away from his handsome face before she put her hands on his cheeks.

"Don't you care leave us honey, if you dead, I will never forgive myself and I will kill you" Natasha said before she kissed his forehead.

She then leaned her forehead against his "Please don't leave us. 'Cause I can't imaged a life without you in it" she said as a tear fell from her eyes "Five, please don't leave us" she said.

She was about to let go of his hand but he squeezed it "Squeeze my hand to keep me awake" he said.

She did as he told her for the rest of the ride.

They quickly arrived at the Academy.

Allison was carrying Five's upper body while Diego was carrying his lower body as Natasha was walking next to them pressing her hands against the wound while Zach opened the door for them.

"We should have taken him to the hospital" Allison said "A kid with a bullet wound might raise some questions" Zach said "He's right" Five muttered, almost passing out again as some blood was running down from his mouth "You're awake" Natasha said "I wouldn't be in a minute" he muttered.

"Yeah, well, so does the murder shrine in Harold Jenkins' attic" Allison said before they walked into the living room and put him on the couch.

"Allison I don't give a shit about the attic. Five is losing blood, we need to do something now or I'm gonna lose it" Natasha said out loud "Natasha, please calm---" "Diego I will stab you in the eye, if you tell me to calm down. Don't you tell a woman to calm down. Telling a woman to calm down is like pouring a can of gasoline over some fire to put it out" Natasha snapped at him as they walked into the living room and put him on the couch.

"He's still losing blood. What do we do?" Allison asked "Apply pressure and we gotta get the bullet out. We get it out, we stop the bleeding, then we clean it, in that order" Natasha said.

Then suddenly Diego noticed someone in the main entry and he started walking away as he narrowed his eyes "Diego, where are you going?" Allison asked "Mom" Diego said as he walked towards Grace.

"Zach grabbed some alcohol and a handkerchief" Natasha said and Zach nodded before he blinked away.

"What is your plan?" Allison asked "Cleaning the wound" Natasha replied "Do you know how to do that?" Allison asked "I know. Was taught when I joined the Commission" Natasha said.

Zach then appeared next to his mom with the handkerchief and alcohol.

"Help me with this" Natasha said as she lifted up Five's shirt before removing the piece of clothes that Zach had wrapped around the wound.

Zach poured alcohol on the wound and then Natasha pressed the handkerchief against the wound.

They quickly carried Five into his bedroom before putting him on the bed where Grace started stitching him up.

The sound of insects chirping was heard as Natasha was sitting on a chair by the bed holding her boyfriend's hand while Grace was sitting at the edge of his bed, stitching up his wound.

Zach was sitting on a chair on the other side of the bed.

Diego was standing outside, looking out of the room as Allison walked up to him.

"Anything?" Diego asked "There's no answer at Vanya's place. And the receptionist at her music school said she was a no-show for her lessons today" Allison said.

Diego didn't say anything, he just nodded before he turned around, getting ready to leave but Allison stopped him "Hey, you okay?" she asked and he turned to look at her "Yeah. I don't know, it's just surreal seeing mom" Diego said and they both looked into the room "I just wanna tell her that I'm s..." Diego said and Allison looked back at him "We don't have enough time. We gotta go" he said "I don't know, Diego" Allison said as she grabbed his arm "Five is laying there, unconscious. We need him and Natasha. 'Cause I don't think Natasha or Zach will leave Five, when he is in a condition like that" Allison said.

"NATASHA, YOU COMING?" Diego shouted "No. You guys go" she said "Natasha, you need to come with us" Diego said but she shook her head "No. I can't leave him, not when he is in this condition. If something else happen to him and I'm not there, I will never be able to forgive with myself, so I'm staying right here" Natasha said "He is going to be fine. So come on" Diego said "No. And if you try to force me out, I'm gonna cut off your fingers" Natasha said.

Diego nodded before he looked back at Allison "We can do this ourselves" he said "We did that already, remember? We all ended up dead" Allison said and Diego let out a sigh.

"I don't know. I'm just...I'm thinking I should go and see Clarie before--" Allison said "You can't run away from this, Allison" Diego said, cutting her off "That's what started this whole mess in the first place" he said before he let out a sigh as they both looked back into the room "Luther was right" Diego said and Allison looked at him "I didn't think I would ever hear you say those words" she said "Yeah, well...we gotta stick together" Diego said "Where do we start?" Allison asked "There's no other addresses in the file, but there is another relation listed. Jenkins' grandmother. She lived near Jackpine Road" Diego said "You think he took her there?" Allison asked "It's a good enough place to start" Diego said before him and Allison walked downstairs.

"I will go with them" Zach said and Natasha looked at her son "Are you sure" she said as tears was in her eyes "I am, you stay here with dad, I will go with Allison and Diego, they might need me" Zach said "Be careful sweetheart" she said and Zach smiled "I will" he said before he kissed his mom's forehead "I love you" he said "I love you too" she said and he turned around.

A single tear felled from Natasha's eyes as she watch her son leave the room.

"Done" Grace said "Is he going to be alright?" Natasha asked "Yeah, he is gonna be fine" Grace said "Thank you" Natasha said "Your welcome. I will leave you alone" Grace said before walking out of the room.

"You almost gave me a heart attack you son of a bitch" Natasha said as she was looking at Five who was sleeping peacefully "I'm gonna punch you when you wake up for not telling me" she said before she lay a kiss on the hand that she was holding.

"I love you" she said before laying a kiss on his forehead.

Allison and Diego walked out of the Academy "Hey guys, wait up" a voice said and the two turned around to see Zach running towards them "I'm coming with you" he said "Are you sure?" Allison asked and Zach nodded "I am, you might need me" he said "What do you mom say about that?" Diego asked "She is fine with it, she is staying with my dad" Zach said "Okay, let's go" Diego said before the thee walked down the street.

But then Diego stopped when he saw two police cars "Nope. Come on, this way" he said as he turned around "Wait, but the car is back that way" Allison said "Trust me, okay? Come on" Diego said as they began walking the other way.

"But what is going on?" Zach asked "They're here for me. Uh...They think I did something" Diego said "What do they think you did?" Zach asked and the police turned on the sirens.

"Murder" Diego said "Did you?" Allison asked "No, no, no, of course not, okay? Why would you ask that about me, anyway?" Diego asked "I mean, you do carry knives with you everywhere" Zach said "He is right" Allison said.

"Yeah, okay, we're gonna have to split, okay? I'm in charge. Remember? Vanya needs you two" Diego said and the two looked at him "Don't do anything stupid, okay" she said before she looked at Zach "Come on" she said "Don't get yourself killed" Zach said before he followed after Allison.
