(Later)

Aika was walking with Haru and for the first time she actually felt like someone outside her family (not counting her dead father) cared about her. However she didn't want to get to close to him after being betrayed in the past. The last thing she wanted is get close to someone again and have her heart shattered.

" Hey Aika, do you wanna go to my place and hang out for a bit? " Haru asked.

" Oh, sure. Since my moms in america its problaby night time so i wont be expecting any calls from her for a while " She spoke in a somewhat cheerful tone.

"Oh cool btw do you have a phone?" Haru asked.

"No, my fathers dept remember." Aika said flatly.

"Oh yeah I'm guessing paying that off prevented you from getting one." Haru said embarrassed, as he didn't mean to open up that wound

"It's okay, my mom is gonna get me one once she gets back from her business trip." Aika explained, while smiling a bit excited for when her mom gets back.

"Why didn't she get you one when she paid off the debt?" Haru asked curiously.

"Well because while we were in debt we lived in this shitty old apartment that was falling apart and leaking. So my mom bought a new house that was much nicer and warmer then that old apartment. Then she had to get other things we needed, so yeah she basically had to get us better stuff before she could even thing about getting me a phone." Aika explained.

"Oh yeah that makes sense I guess she wanted you two to be in a better position before getting out a phone." Haru said.

"Yeah all I'm using right now is a house phone, and before you ask it came with the house." Aika explained, before Haru could ask why they had a house phone.

"I wasn't gonna judge you." Haru said reassuringly.

Without warning, all TV screens lost connection. A strange man whose face was hid by the camera pop up. The only thing that was seen was his well built body, formal suite with a cheetah print tie. He was sitting in a chair that could only be expensive as it didn't look run down with his legs crossed along with his arms.

"Hello citizens of Japan. I am the maker of The Artists game and now my game has all of its contenders. I will now announce what the name of the game is so my players will know what to do and how they can win." The strange man explained.

People around were all confused by what was going on and what the man meant. Aika and Haru where also very curious about what the man was talking about. They then remembered when they got their note books they sighed something that mentioned this game.

"The Artists Game? Wait!" Aika said before pulling out her notebook and looking at the first page of it. However now the spot where she wrote her name and state now looked like it was printed on during production. Haru took a look at his as well and saw that his also looked like it was printed on the notebook when it was being made.

"Now the game is simple, there are eighteen players, and two sides divided evenly, the sides are the bad guys and the good guys. The bad guys are criminals who haven't been caught yet and they can team up with each other and the good guys can also team up with each other. The two teams have to eliminate each other and whichever team is left standing they are the winners and will receive a reward beyond the human mind.

Now know these players anything you draw in your notebooks will come to life and will do whatever you want them to do once the task is completed they will rip themselves apart so you can summon them again. But you can only do it in the notebooks that you singed as they are what allows you to be in the artist game and their pages will never run out, and remember this as long as your notebook remains intact you'll still be in the game however when its destroyed by another player you'll be out of the game and your life will expire.

And don't worry players if someone else tries to destroy your notebook it will not work as only players in the game can do such a thing. After all if I allowed the notebook to be destroyed by non players then it wouldn't be much fun. That is all I have to say about my game. I wish every player good luck." The mysterious man said before the TV's lost contact again and came back on to the normal channels they were on before.

Aika and Haru both felt their legs getting shaky as they were afraid of what the man meant by their lives would expire when their notebooks were destroyed. That part was the most concerning as they didn't know what would happen to them. They also didn't know any more about the game then they did before, when that guy announced it.

"T-this has to be some kind of a joke right?" Aika asked, a little scared.

"I don't think it is as I've already used my notebook to bring something to life so I don't think that man was joking around. His tone sounded very serious and he seemed like one of those mysterious people you'd see in anime." Haru explained while rubbing his chin.

"Whati WHAT?!" Aika screamed, making everyone look at her and Haru.

Haru laughed nervously and put his hand over Aika's mouth (Much to her annoyance) before grabbing her hand and running off with her. They then got on to an empity street that let back into their neighborhood, and while the street they where on took longer it was pretty empity. As they where walking Haru looked around for anyone, and thankfully he didn't see anyone near by so he took his hand off Aika's mouth to let her speak.

"Haru what do you mean you've used your notebook to bring something to life." Aika asked in a whisper while she and Haru headed off to his house.

"Well I found out about two days after getting the notebooks. I was really busy and stressed as I had lots of work that day and Hinote made me do his homework and I needed help. I wished that my character Akasuki was real if I made him up to help others out with anything he needed. And just like that he came to life and when I asked him to do my chores while I finished up what I was doing and he did so without another word.

Once he was done with my chores he suddenly crumpled up and ripped apart so all I had to do after the homework was done was sweep up the paper that was left behind.

After that I decided to test out the notebook more and sure enough anything I drew in there came to life as long as I wished them to and they would do anything I asked them to do with no complaints. It felt great and all I would have to do is sweep up the paper that was left behind by them after they tore themselves up." Haru explained.

Aika didn't know how to respond to what Haru was saying as it sounded like something a crazy person would say. After all theirs no way a drawing of an original anime character could come to life and do what it's creator told it to do.

"I know it's a lot but we'll discuss more about it at my house. My parents are at work and my little sister is at her friend's house so we'll be able to talk in private." Haru explained.

Aika just nodded and followed Haru to his street and to his house. She thought that may be they could discuss the topic more at his place and it was better to be somewhere privet as people will probably think their crazy if they overheard them.

(Half an hour later)

When they got to Haru's street Aika recognized it at once as it was also her street as well.

"Haru you live on my street?" Aika asked.

"Oh it's your street too, I didn't know that!" Haru said surprised.

"Well this world is a small place." Aika said.

"Yeah, come on let's go, my house is coming up." Haru said and led Aika to his home.

After passing two houses the two stopped at what Aika believed to be Haru's home. Haru took Aika inside the house they stopped at and it confirmed to her that it was indeed his house. When they walked in the house the design wasn't any different from Aika's home the paint was just blue and not white and in the living room it was green with white plants painted on.

"Nice place you have." Aika said.

"Thanks, my parents try to get nice items for the best price. They are frugal like that, not to the point where it's unbearable, just enough so that they don't use up all their money." Haru explained, while also rubbing the back of his head.

"I can relate to that, My mom became pretty frugal on saving money after our lives got better as she wanted to save up as much money for emergencies and for my college." Aika explained, she also smiled a bit at her mothers care.

"Oh well knowing what you two went through I don't blame her I think I'd be the same way if I was in your situation." Haru said.

The two then went into the living room and sat down to discuss the notebook and this game.

"Ok so anything we drew in here will come to life when we say?" Aika asked wanting to be sure that she heard him correctly.

"Yeah I've tested it out and they will indeed do any task that's asked of them and once it's done they'll rip apart and leave regular paper behind." Haru confirmed.

"Hmm I wonder what will happen if water dumped on them will they shrivel up like normal paper does?" Aika asked curios to the weaknesses of the creations.

"I tried that and no, their a solid creature till their task is complete." Haru explained.

"Hun Okay I guess it wouldn't be fair if a fight with the contenders broke out and it was raining." Aika suggested possibilities on why the creation didn't do that.

"Yeah that makes sense." Haru said in agreement.

Just then the two heard the door open and a woman's voice say "Haru sweete your father, sister, and I are home. Your sister got sick at her friend's house so we had to come home early."

Haru's face turned to horror as his family was home early and he didn't want them to find out about Aika yet as they were very embarrassing. He also didn't want them to think that he and Aika where dating yet, as while he loved her he didn't ask her out on a date yet, nor has he meet her mother.

"Um, that's great mom and wait there I'm coming." Haru called out before getting up and going into the front door leaving Aika in the livingroom confused.

When Haru went to the front entrance he saw his mom getting her shoes off and his father holding his little sister in his arms. Haru noticed that his little sister looked pretty sick as she was clenching on to her stomach and her face had an expression of pain on it.

"Hey Haru, how was your time in the city?" Haru's mother asked.

"It was great. I even got some good steak ramen." Haru explained briefly.

"That's good son." Haru's father said, happy that his son had a good time.

"Hey Haru, what's the big deal? Why did you walk out on me like that with out an explanation?" Aika asked then turned the corner and Haru's parents saw her.

"Haru! I can't believe you." Both of Harus parents said with their faces looking angry. Both Haru and Aika got nervous on how they were going to react.

Then their faces became happy and Harus mother said in a cheerful tone "You have a girl over!"

"Yeah son you seem to finally manage to get a girlfriend without that bastard Hinote taking her first." Harus father said happily.

Aika blushed red as she did not consider Haru as her boyfriend yet as she barely knew him. She also didn't want to be in a relationship as she was perfectly happy with the relationship she has with her mom.

"Um, we're not dating, we're just friends." Aika explained.

"Well It's good that Haru finally has a female friend as Hinote would always steal any girl he liked and I guess now that he's gone our son will have a better life." Haru's mother explained happy for her son.

"Yeah and don't worry we're not saying that it's good that Hinote is dead, we just wanted him to stop making our son's life a mystery." Haru's father reassured.

"Oh well it's nice to meet you all." Aika said, while rubbing the back of her head, and a bit flattered by their words.

"And it's wonderful to meet you. Oh come here dear, let me take a look at you." Haru's mother then tried to pinch Aika's cheeks but she avoided that as she didn't want a stranger touching her.

"Hey I don't like being touched by a woman I don't even know yet." Aika sternly explained.

"Okay sorry I'm just excited to meet you dear, that's all." Haru's mother explained a bit embarrassed about her behavior.

"Yeah I know, but rule number one don't touch me, got it?" Aika asked sternly and Haru's mother nodded.

"Hey I'm gonna take Aimi here to her room so she can rest and we can all have a good talk and hey if Haru's friend here wants she can stay over for dinner." Haru's father suggested hoping Aika will accept the offer.

"Oh that's a great idea, what do the two of you think?" Haru's mother asked.

"I'm alright with free food." Aika said.

"I guess if Aika is okay with it then I'm okay with it." Haru said.

Haru's mother smiled before taking Aika and Haru to the living room while her husband took Aimi to her room to rest. While Aika felt awkward as she was out of her comforts zone when it comes to her being antisocial and not talking or meeting new people, but strangely she felt very comfortable around Haru's parents. The two of them gave her a good vibe and they where treating her much better then anyone, aside from her mother has ever treated her.

(Later at dinner)

Aika was sitting in the kitchen with Haru and his parents eating some delicious gyoza.

"Mmh this gyoza is great." Aika said happily as she's only ever had gyoza at a restaurant and not home made.

"Oh I'm glad you like it." Haru's mother said, happy that Aika was enjoying the food her and her husband made.

"So Aika, what's your home life like?" Haru's father asked, wanting to get to know Aika better.

"Oh well I live with my single mom and her job has her going on business trips but she gets a good paycheck so she doesn't complain." Aika explained.

"Oh well that's good to hear but it must be tough for your mother to be a single mom". Haru's mom said.

"Oh trust me if you had seen what kind of a person my father was you'd understand that my mom being single is much better then what our lives were like when he was alive." Aika said bitterly.

"Oh why do you say that dear what did your father do?" Haru's mother asked, curious on why she said that about her father.

Aika then told them what her father had done and about the debt he put herself and her mom in. She relived of all the horrific memories, all the pain she and her mom went through from that awful man. When she was done she was clenching her fist so hard in anger and sadness that her knuckles where bulging out of her hands.

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Your father was a wimp; he couldn't even do the simplest thing of being a good father, husband, and human being." Haru's father said angry after hearing about that pathetic excuse of a man and father.

"Yeah he was, I didn't even feel bad for him, he got what was coming to him." Aika said a bit happy about it.

"Oh dear I'm sorry that happened to you both, but on the bright side you're out of it now and in a better position." Haru's mom said, wishig the best of them.

"Yeah that's good I consider those lone sharks as saints for what they did as they rid that man out of lives." Aika said, again happy about what happened to the man she's ashamed to call her father.

Haru's parents then decided to move the conversation on to something else as Aika looked like she was about to cry due to how upset she was. After they were done with dinner Aika said that she had to go home for when her mom called to make sure she was alright. Due to the fact that Aika had no phone her mom will get worried about her if she didn't pick up the house phonw

Haru offered to take her home as he also had to go to work. Aika agreed as they were going in the same direction and it could allow them to talk more about the Artists game. So Aika got her stuff and left with Haru with his parents telling them to be safe.

On their way there they talked more about the artists game and if they would encounter the other players. They hoped that if they did it wouldn't be a bad guy as the last thing they wanted was to run into one at night when everyone was inside. However if it was a good guy then they wouldn't mind as long as they helped the two of them out, or if she needed their help they would help them out.

As if on cue a girl with blond hair, a yellow turtleneck sweater, yellow skirt, yellow shoes, and a notebook walked up to them and asked "Hey are you two players of the Artists game as well?"

"Um yes we are, how do you know?" Aika asked, confused by what this girl wanted.

"I heard your conversation and I had to make sure you two were members of the game too... as I need your help." The girl explained in a haste while also trying to catch her breath.

"Help with what?" Haru asked, curious on what was happening.

"I'm on the good side, my notebook says so, and someone on the bad side is after me. He's a serial killer that hasn't been caught yet and he's chasing me." The girl explained.

Both Haru and Aika felt their blood going cold when the girl told them that as they were both scared. As they where completely unprepared for this and they didn't know what the bad guy had drew in his notebook and what was going to come at them

"Don't worry if the three of us work together then we can stop him, we just need to destroy his notebook." The girl explained.

"How do we know we can trust you? We don't even know your name." Aika explained, while corrsing her arms and backing away from the girl.

"Oh right, my name is Sakura like the cherry blossoms." Sakura said remembering that she didn't introduce herself to the two of them.

"OK I'm Haru and this is Aika." Haru said, introducing himself and Aika.

"Alright it's nice to meet you both and- HOLY SHIT DUCK!" Sakura screamed before tackling Haru and Aika to the ground as ninja stars flew past their heads.

When they looked back they saw a man in a black trench coat with a mask covering his face along with a Ninja standing next to him.

"That's him RUN!" Sakura exclaimed and got off Aika and Haru.

The three began running with the man and the ninja following behind them.

"Shit, shit, shit! WHAT DO WE DO?!" Aika asked in a panic.

Normally she doesn't care that much when she sees a chase on TV but in real life it's absolutely horrifying. This was because if she got caught she'd knew it would be game over for her as the man would kill her.

"Let's hide out in my workplace. There's no way any killer would go there to kill us in a place that has lots of people!" Haru suggested.

"That's a good idea! lead the way Haru and I'll distract him!" Sakura exclaimed then opened her notebook and one of the drawings in it came to life and Sakura ordered it to distract the man and his creation long enough for them to get away and it obeyed.

The three managed to get to the store without any conflict, unfortunately the store was empty and Haru looked at his phone to only realize that he'd be working alone (that is if he survived).

"Oh great of all days for my boss to get a stomach flu. It's today and my coworker has broken his leg so it's just me working here!" Haru angrily cried out.

"Well that's it we're fucked that maniac is gonna kill all three of us." Aika announced with dread in her voice.

"No we're not, we just need to come up with a plan to stop him." Sakura stated confidently knowing that they would survive.

"Yeah and how?" Aika asked wanting to know what Sakura's plan was for them to get out of this mess.

"There are three of us and one of them. If we can bring out enough of our drawings then we can destroy his notebook and he'll be out of the game." Sakura declared.

"Hmm that's a good idea, what do you say Aika?" Haru asked while looking at Aika.

She was quiet for a moment before saying with a fire in her eye "Alright if it'll stop him then I'm in."

Both Sakura and Haru smiled at Aika and they all discussed what to do when the man got there.

(With the man)

The man came up to the convenience store with the intent to kill the three good guys. He smiled as he thought of all the things he would do to them before finally killing the three of them. Not to mention the reward that him, his wife, and son would get when they won.

"That reward is as good as mine." the man said to himself with an evil look in his eye. He then walked into the store to see it empty.

"Hmm I could've sworn that my creation saw them come in here." The man said to himself frustrated with the situation.

He decided to cheek and see if they went outside to try and hide from him. When he went to the back of the store he was frustrated to see that they were nowhere in sight. So he started looking around for them as he wasn't giving up.

Aika however was hiding on the roof as Haru and Sakura had a plan to get rid of this guy. The plan was for Haru and Sakura would distract him while Aika and one of her creations would destroy his notebook by burning it with hairspray and a lighter.

So Aika waited on the roof while her other two friends waited for their opportunity to come out. The guy then got his notebook out and had one of his creations come to life.

"Find my targets and help me kill them." The man ordered his creation.

"Sorry but you won't need it cause your days of killing are over!" Sakura exclaimed and both herself and Haru came out of their hiding spots behind trash cans and used their notebooks to bring their own creations to life.

Haru's was the same creature that he used on the night he killed Hinote and Sakura's was an anime guy who was wearing a superhero suit and looked incredibly strong.

"Creations help us stop him!" both Haru and Sakura called out and their creations did so.

The man quickly got out his notebook and had one of his other drawings come to life and made the same order to it as he did with the other one. The creations all fought each other as they were made to not only do what their creation tells them to do but to also protect them. The man then put his notebook back in his trench coat to protect it.

However he forgot about Aika who saw where he hid it and knew which one of her creations would be able to take it. So she opened her notebook and went to the first page where she drew a female figure that was covered in a purple and black ripped upcloak and its hands were boney and its nails were long and sharp. She wished for it to come to life and just like that when Aika opened her eyes her drawing was floating in front of her.

"Creation, get that man's notebook then hold it in front of me so I can burn it." Aika order and her creation just nodded it's head then disappeared in the shadows to take on its task.

The man was looking around to see if Haru and Sakura had any more of their creations come out, however he didn't see anything else. He smiled as he thought he had the upper hand that was until he felt something shuffling around in his trench coat.

By the time he realized what was going on Aika's creation had gotten its hand on his notebook and tore it out of his trench coat. The man was then pushed to the ground by the creature and it floated back to Aika and held it in front of her. Aika then got out the lighter and hairspray and with one quick motion she lit the notebook up into flames.

The man was horrified by what he saw as he knew that it was now Game Over for him. The man's bodies started twisting in odd angles and his whole body twisted around like a tornado. He tried to scream in pain as the agony he felt was unberable, but his vocal cords where being crushed by how he was being twisted. He looked back at Sakura and Haru as blood started coming out of his eyes, nose, and ears. He then combusted into a giant pool of blood making the area look like someone set a hand grenade off in a blood bag you'd find at the hospital.

Aika and her two friends were horrified by what they saw as it told them what it meant if their notebooks were destroyed. When their notebooks expire they will expire or in other terms they will die.
