For this thesis, every of our university student can have accessed to investigators, polices or psychiatrists for the criminal case that you want to elaborate on. Approach one of those professionals using your student cards and they will give out first layer information of the cases so that you all can work on.

Feel free to visit prisons, interview the criminals, have consultations with prosecutors or anything you can to understand the case that you all decide to choose.

Remember the thesis must be focused on criminal's theories, their methodology, their motives, their psychological problems and backgrounds.

Your marks for this thesis will depend on the case you choose plus the depth you can go to gather information.

It would be better if you can find a criminal case that is not too famous that everyone already know.

Well, everyone must be expecting this kind of news since we all are final year students.
I bet this is going to be a difficult work for sure.

"Ah haaaaa.... This thesis sounds the worst of all assignments we did, right Baekhyun ya?" One of my friend says

"Well, isn't that final thesis for a reason? Stop whining"  I say

"Wait, baekhyun ya.. you have your older friends right? One is prosecutor and another is psychiatrist. Right?" Another friend asks

"Umm.. yeah.. may be I will ask help from them" I say

"Not fairrrr" they all whine

Having them is great help but, I have to choose the right case to work on.

Oh yeah, I'm about to forget.
I'm Byun Baekhyun and 24 years old final year student.
I study criminology and my dream is to become a forensic expert.

It was like a dream since I was little.. even tho dead bodies can be a brutal to see with your own two eyes and question myself why I even had a dream sometimes...
I never did give up on my dream, aren't I?

Because I respect my younger self..
A kid who was braver than I'm right now to have that kind of dream job.
So, I'm going to fulfil my younger self dream.

Studying criminology has a lot of jobs opportunities at its end.
You can be detectives, prosecutor, profiler, investigator or many others including a police.

To be honest, I am also interested to be a detective or prosecutor but you know.. I don't think I have physical abilities to that level and I'm a fragile as .... This grass.

So yeah... dead bodies over physical tiredness and pains.
I'm quite persistent and selfish type and I am very blunt that I always say out what's in my head. People say my attitude sucks most of the times but like I care 🤷🏼‍♀️

And I'm an orphan. The two older friends that mentioned earlier too. We all grew up in the same orphanage.
They two are 3 or 4 years older than me.
One got adopted and moved to United States but came back after he finished his university and now a psychiatrist.
One also got adopted and now is prosecutor.

For me, I was never adopted and had to leave orphanage at the age of 16.
I got a lot of helps from those two hyungs throughout.. well, I'm still getting help from them.
I don't really get emotional about lacking parents. May be I'm used to it since it happened since I was very young.

"Oh! You are here?" One of hyung's colleague asks as I get in front of the station that he is assigned to 

"Nae... is Hyung inside? I didn't tell him that I'm coming"

"Yeah he's inside. I will tell him to come out"

"Then, can you tell him that I will be waiting at that cafe?" I say

"Sure"

After telling that, I go to the cafe and wait for him.

Come to think of it, we all ended up in this kind of work environment ... you know? Work related to crime.

After this year, I will be able to live independently from those two Hyungs.. I mean, I'm kinda financially depending on these two right now which make me feel very bad and guilty.

"Hey!" Hyung calls me out as soon as he comes into the cafe. Did he run to here? For real.

"Hyung... I ordered. Ice Americano with two extra shots right?" I say

"Yeah.. but why didn't you text me in advanced?"

"Hehe.. just wanna surprised you"

"You have something to ask me right?"

"Ah hehe... Suho Hyung.... That is...."

"Imm?"

"Please help me with my final thesis!?!"

"Eh.... Help?"

"Yeah.. please spare me very rare and infamous case that you have ever worked on. And please let me meet and have some consultations with the criminal"

"No"

"No... you can just use your university library and there will be many researched cases. You can elaborate upon it"

"Well I can't exactly give you a case. But I will help if you already pick one case. Okay?"

"Why you keep calling kyungsoo ..just kyungsoo? He's also older than you"

"But he told me to call him just kyungsoo"

"Then call me just Suho"

"Nope. Cause you are old.. blah! I will leave now since you are not helping me"

"What? Already? Let's have lunch together"

"Nope. Gonna have with kyungsoo"

"Then let's all gather one day."

"I don't wanna see suho hyung anymore. Byeiiii" I say as I walk out of the cafe

Well, I knew it. Suho hyung won't just give me out a case that easily. He worried for no reason.
I should try to kyungsoo. Keke.
Even tho kyungsoo is just a psychiatrist, he once said most of his patients are serial killers and he has to go and do consultations at the prison.

I'm currently at his clinic and begging him to help me .
"Well.... It would be okay if I can you know... interview them for around 3 or 4 times. Plus I will also look into the documented researches about that criminal."

"I know why Suho didn't want to help you... and why you university give permission to personally meet the criminals for interviews huh" kyungsoo sighs

"Pleaseeeee I don't want to do thesis on common cases that everyone knows"

"Well... *sigh* hmmm.... Actually... I can recommend one. I bet Suho will be super mad at me if I do"

"Pleaseeeeeeeeeee"

"I have one patient...that he's with me for about over a year now. And you don't want to go to prison if you want to interview him"

"Umm? Then he's at home or what hahahaha"

"Yeah.. he's home prison"

"What???? Is that even possible????"

"It is ... for him"

"Who is he even?"

"Hmm I don't know if he can be called as a serial killer since he only killed 3 people .. to be exact. Just 3 people. And after his last victim, he just walked into police station and claimed that he will be prisoned. I guess that police station was where Suho was assigned to at that time"

"Only killed 3 people and turned himself in?"

"Yeah... he's completely normal.. or Me, myself as a psychiatrist even can't know him till now. Plus he's a son of one of the high rank politicians. Very private investigation was done and he was only prisoned at home with 24 hours watching from outside of his house."

"That risky"

"What more riskier is... he's free to go out as much as he could. Even tho he has location detector on his ankle and the assigned polices follow him wherever he go from afar"

"So, he is living just like us... in this society huh?"

"Yep.... That's very exceptional case. Even tho his case was very infamous among polices .. the society and outsiders didn't know since they covered up so well."

"I'm interested!"

"Baekhyun ya... please think again"

"No ... I want to take this case hyung. Let me meet up with the criminal"

"Baekhyun ya... I won't be with you when you go into his house alone for interview. Aren't you scared?"

"Why would I? And he's even free to roam around the society from the start. That means he doesn't  harm. Plus you also go to his house right?"

"Well, he sometimes comes to clinic and of the days are cold, he told me to come to his house for consultation"

"See? Then it is no harm at all"

"Well... let me... *sigh* let me request him first. Only if he agrees to. If he rejects, just go back to your library and choose common one.. okay?"

"Okay then"

I still can't believe that kind of case exist.
They just let a killer, a criminal to roam around the city just like normal citizens?
So, it is possible if you have money. Huh?
That's certainly not fair.

It makes me more curious of what kind of person he is.
Even tho he just killed 3 people... it's still a crime and he's more than guilty.

When I arrived back home I started searching about him on the internet.

Kyungsoo hyung said the case was called "The Artistic Murder"

When I searched on the internet, I find no.. literally no information about his personal. There's not even a name or a picture.
The case was defined as "The Artistic Murder" and people called him like that too.

Why was he named like that?
And why he stopped killing after 3 people?
And why did he have to turn himself in?

I'm very curious now.
And I want to do thesis on this case. I need to get this case.

And luckily, after 3 days, Kyungsoo Hyung contacted me that... that criminal agreed to do interview.

4 interview sessions, 1 hour each section, the session will be occured on a day when that person decides on, and time too.
Can't be late, can't be early, there will be no replace session if you can't attend on appointed time.

Those are the given clauses from the criminal.
For my side? Nothing 😑. I just need to follow as he pleased.

Plus, no provoking the criminal... that was an advice from kyungsoo Hyung.

As if I am going to provoke a serial killer.

And now....
My first session with a criminal.
