Epilogue

War had never been addicted to a sound, but as he thrust deeply into his withering mate, her cries were like ambrosia to his ears. What started as just lending a helping hand, had ended up in him pinning his sweet mate against the shower wall and fucking her till her legs were weak.

Pomelia was biting his shoulder as to not cry out as War cursed, feeling the sudden tightness of her milking him for all he was worth. He couldn't finish though, not yet.

"Come for me again," War growled out, his soft mate whimpering and shutting her eyes tightly. She was so close to orgasm, he knew it. Her legs tightened around his waist, her moans egging him
on as she stretched out her neck for him.

He sunk his canines into her neck and fucked her deeper, feeling her legs tremble and voice giving out.

Pomelia's body shuddered hard as an orgasm slammed into her. Her body bucked against his solid one as she clenched around his cock. "Mmmm War," she squealed, her nails now deeply embedded into his neck, holding on to him for dear life. He continued to move slowly in and out of her, prolonging her pleasure.

She was so tight and wet, he just couldn't take it anymore. He groaned loudly, grabbing her ass tightly and burying himself as deep as he could as she arched her back, sweet nothings spilling from her lips.

He came in seconds, emptying his load into the barrier that kept his seed from joining with his mate. As usual, Pomelia clung to him like a lifeline after their intense lovemaking while he listened to her erratic heartbeat slow down.

War buried his face in his mate's neck, inhaling her scent deeply before nipping at her sweaty skin. Her fingers brushed through his blonde locks. "We have to get dressed Warren," Pomelia yawned as War still kept himself comfortably inside of his squirming mate.

"I know," he groaned pouty-like as she kissed him on his cheek and he slowly slipped out of her, setting her on her feet. He pulled the condom off his wolf immediately going on high alert, loathing the rubber that stopped his semen from dripping out of Pomelia's perfect pussy.

His mate let loose a dorky laugh as her legs trembled a little as she took a few steps towards her sweet-smelling soap. "I think I need to do more yoga," War smirked. So he had been giving his sweet mate a workout. A lot. He really needed to stop whisking her away and fucking her everywhere but it was hard. Really hard.

He growled as he glanced at her grabbing soap and her washcloth sudsying it up. His mate must have noticed his staring and she quickly twirled around, frowning at him. "Warren Apsel am I going to have to kick you out? You know we have an important meeting today."

Yeah. He definitely may have to step out of the shower. He was full of nervous energy and usually, they didn't shower together. Him always waking up early and showering and checking on the pack before his Pom woke up.

"Yeah, I'll wait."

"Really?"

He frowned at her. "Yes, Pomelia. You may not realize it but you're just too beautiful for me not to sink my cock into again."

War was telling the gods truth and of course, his language made her mouth agape and her cheeks redden. "Out!" She giggled, taking one of her weird puffy wash thingies and throwing it at him.

He grabbed it with ease and tossed it back at her before he gave his beautiful mate some time to herself to shower.

While she was in the bathroom he decided to reflect on their time being legit leaders in the pack.

It had been a long month and some days.

A long, trying, new, and worrying 45 days of them becoming Alpha and Luna of one of the most infamous packs in the country.

Pomelia had somewhat taken her role with an ease that not too many people could say they had ever witnessed. She was a confidant, a sister, a friend to the women and girls in the pack. They appreciated her kindness which they never had the chance to see from most of their home packs.

Warren was a familiar, silent, and unmoving force in the pack. He was always there and everyone had gotten so used to him being silent it was hard and a little odd for the men in the pack to call him Alpha. Did they have an issue with him? No. Were they all terrified of him? Yes. Was Warren constantly having to break them out of the disgusting and awful habits of what Khan deemed acceptable? Yes.

It was an uphill battle for them and their battle seemed to be increasing with opposing forces as they were planning a meeting to implement some rules. Rules that the former Alpha never thought of.  It stressed him out but he tried to think of the happier changes that were happening.

Pomelia was freer now than ever and it showed in her demeanor and attitude. She was the same pure-hearted woman but she had changed. For the good of course. She was more independent, outspoken and she wanted to be a part of the pack members' lives. They were doing great...so far.

After Pom's shower, War hopped in next, resisting the urge to grab her ass as she rushed by him as if she knew what he was thinking. He took a quick shower, the meeting and the potential dumpster fire waiting to happen not registering in his mind as he was high off happiness with his relationship with his mate.

Once he got out of the shower, he toweled off in the room, watching Pomelia dress. He observed her with a smile, leaning against the wooden frame of the bathroom door as he watched her dress.

She slipped on a dress that the novice Pomelia wouldn't dare wear. War still thought it was extremely modest in modern standards but to his mate, she was wearing something that her old self would probably cry or faint at the task at wearing.

It was a dress that didn't have sleeves, instead of a thick band on top of her shoulders. It reached down to just above her knees. Showing off her calves. And she even wore sandals.

"War why do you always stare at me when I dress?"

He wanted to say he stared at her all the time just to make sure she was real, but he was quiet. "I stare at you when you undress too." She grabbed her towel at threw it at him. "I just like to watch how far you've come. You used to worry about your ankles showing."

She laughed softly. "That's true. Oh, and you used to be afraid to talk to me."

He still was sometimes. He was afraid he would say something wrong and this beautiful thing they had would come crashing down in front of him. Well, it wasn't a thing, it was love.

"I'm not afraid anymore, " he told her as she rolled her eyes. If it weren't for them having to have this meeting today War would most definitely be talking his mate out of her nice little dress and sinking his cock into its forever home again today before they started their day. Or just holding her and watching her watch tv. It was more entertaining than actual television.

Pomelia giggled. "I'm glad. Now stop staring at me as if you are going to rip my dress in half." War smirked and she gasped.

"Warren Apsel do not come near me! I will not have another dress destroyed because of you."

He decided to tease her and mocked her as if he was about to come and grab her up. "No!"

Pomelia Grace rushed to the door and flung it open. He couldn't blame his mate for running from him. Not at all. Their sessions were never quick, he always took his time with his mate and they had somewhere to be. Pomelia hated being late.

War caught his mate downstairs. She wasn't running but fast walking down the hall. Pomelia was trying to make it to the meeting room near his office but he wouldn't let her off the hook that easily.

He captured her, pressing her against the wall, his semi pressing into her perfect ass. She unconsciously moved her ass against him and War growled. "I thought you said no?" War questioned her as she squealed and attempted at squirming out of his hold.

"I did! It's not my fault my body betrays me sometimes," Pomelia gasped as War let his poor mate go with a light laugh. She smoothed down her dress and glared at him in anger. "I bet other Lunas don't have to run away from their naughty mates."

Now that was where his naive little mate was wrong. Alpha males always wanted affection from their mates, physically and emotionally. It was just...a thing. He supposed it was because their mates were the only person they could be one hundred percent real with.

"I'm not sure about that," War told her as he pulled her into the meeting room, his eyes immediately going to the people already sitting down, waiting.

It was six people that Pomelia and he handpicked specifically. Doctor Wes nodded his head briefly at them. He was a pillar in the pack. Everyone trusted the quiet man who had extensive knowledge and calming demeanor. He also was one of the few men with a good head on his shoulders in the pack.

The next one was Lisa. She was an older female in the pack who kept mostly everyone in line without even having to be asked. She had a natural nurturing spirit and was also a pretty rough cookie when need be. Pomelia had grown close to the woman in her daily cooking activities around the pack. She was another well-respected person in the pack.

Then it was Lo and Leo. The most recent editions to the pack who had been here such a short amount of time yet caused such a big impact. Everyone admired how well Leo worked hard for his unborn pup and female, and everyone absolutely adored Lo and her pregnant shenanigans.

The last two were also a mated couple. Qasim and Ehani. They both were in charge of the pack daycare and rec center. War wasn't really sure why or how they entered the pack. All he knew was that Ehani was infertile and loved children. Qasim was aggressive and quiet but a complete dork when it came to the kids they watched over.

"Thank you all for coming," War thanked them as Pomelia made her way over to her seat. He grabbed her, pulling her into his lap to sit.

Pomelia wanted to protest but she kept her quiet, making War growl lowly in his throat. "It's not like I have a lot of pubescent pups running around waiting for me to feed them," Lisa murmured under her breath with a look of annoyance. She quickly started to laugh, making everyone begin to chuckle under their breaths.

"It won't be long. We just have to implement some pack rules and we want your help," Pomelia spoke.

"Khan has been evading taxes for years and now we're in trouble for it." No one seemed surprised. Maybe Lo, or maybe it was because the baby kicked her again...that happened often apparently. "The LPA came to us and explained everything and well we're in debt. A lot it."

"So we have to start charging pack fees, taxes. We already figured it out. Whatever jobs have to be done take 10% out of the initial cost before anyone gets paid and then the rest will be distributed like wise," Pomelia spoke out loud while War watched the facial expressions in the room. Wes was frowning and Lisa's facial expression seemed neutral.

Lisa raised her hand. "What about the ones who work at human jobs and already get taxed from the that government?"

Pomelia glanced at War and he sighed. "They'll still have to pay a fee. They've been living here rent free all this time." Lisa didn't seem to like the answer but that was what it was. Everyone has been living off of the murders, scammers and illegal activity like jobs that people like War had been doing since he got here. It was time to pay up. Maybe once they were out of debt they could start building a better reputation...

"And we agreed to house some holy peoples if we're approved. That would help us knock out some debt." The facial expressions from that comment alone were mixed. It didn't matter anyway. War was sure Erica Grace was all talk and that no holy man or woman wanted to join this pack for protection.

"Thoughts?" Pomelia spoke aloud, waiting for someone to respond.

Wes was the first one to speak. "I think we have to do whatever is best for the pack."

Qasim raised his hand. "Why don't we find Khan and just take all the money he has. I'm sure he has enough. Our guys are capable of tracking him down."

War shook his head. He had tried a multitude of times over the past month to get into contact with Khan. He had Nick doing completely illegal things electronically trying to find him. He had some of the best trackers other than him and Trent trying to track the wolf down. It was useless.

Khan was like a ghost. He would reveal himself when he wanted to but it was impossible to look for and find him. Plus he trained almost everyone in the pack. A pupil using tactics that a teacher gave them against that teacher never worked out. Or at least that was how he thought about it.

"We have tried that already. This is our only option," War spoke, becoming agitated with everyone.

"If it's our only option why are we here. I thought this was a discussion," Lisa spoke calmly as War clenched his fist. Pomelia immediately grasped his hand and smiled softly.

"You all are very important people in the pack and we want your support. As you all know it's unity in numbers. We want you guys to echo how important and vital it is for everyone to get this pack, out of debt and into a better financial situation."

Leo was the next to speak. "Listen I'm new here and you two are good people. I have no problem
supporting this. Think the same goes for Lo." The pregnant woman nodded her head reaching for the middle of the table to grab up some mints from a little glass dish. Lo didn't seem to care all that much of what was going on.

Ehani sighed. "I'm not for it. Khan would have figured out a way to do it without affecting our daily lives."

"This is mandatory," War bit out, trying to keep control of his cool. He thought this was a good idea. These were the people in the pack with the most leadership like qualities and yet here he was begging them to get on board with this.

Khan wouldn't have even thought of considering this. What he said would've been law and that's it. "Is this meeting over?" Lisa questioned, a sour look on the older woman's face.

"Well I wanted to talk more about this. Maybe we can-"

"The meeting is over. You may not like it but this is how we're doing things," War snapped as he felt Pomelia tensing. Her entire being was frozen as if he was saying something wrong. "You don't like it...you're free to find another pack."

Lisa was the first to get up and leave, followed by Ehani and Qasim. Wes stood giving them sympathetic looks. "You have to do what's best for the pack. They'll come around. I have surgery I have to get to unfortunately," the doctor spoke as War gently moved Pomelia away off of him and grasped Wes's arm.

"Thanks," he told the wolf as he gave him a smile before turning towards Pomelia and nodding.

"Lo, Leo schedule your check in appointment please. You're almost ready," the doctor told the couple as they both smiled in excitement agreeing to do so.

Pomelia went to Lo and started to speak to her, her posture saying that she wasn't all that happy with how War reacted. Leo approached him, a smirk on his face. "Why do you look like that?"

"Nothing. It's the angry puppy dog look on your face that is getting me," The male laughed as War felt like clocking him. He wasn't in a good mood. He didn't expect the meeting to go that way and he cut off Pomelia as if her words didn't matter. Which they did. Completely.

War frowned. "Can you grab your mate so we can talk? I shouldn't have did that."

Lo shrugged. "I dunno. I feel like we shouldn't interrupt an upset Luna and a pregnant woman." He had a point but then again he didn't want Pomelia to be upset with him...

"Leo-"

A hard knocking on the door had all of them tensing. Who would dare knock on the Alpha's conference room door with such hostility? Before they even had the chance to answer the knock, the door was swinging open.

It hit the wall with a such a force that they knew it did some damage.

"What the actual fuck is going on right now!"

It was Trent. His hair had grown back a little since he had last cut it, he maintained a buzz cut pretty well. Pomelia told him that it made him more intimidating and War was sure as hell that Trent took that as a compliment and kept the hair cut.

"Trent? What's wrong?" Pomelia questioned with concern as War watched the wild and unhinged look of Trent intensify as he glowered at War.

What did he do? He left Trent to his toxic relationship with Trisha alone. If they wanted to become psycho yelling, love/hate, fuck buddy friends that wasn't his business.  And they argued a lot. It usually resulted in Trent being cursed out and Trisha leaving before she always came crawling back...

"Again. What the fuck did you do, War," he snapped out closing the distance between them. Pomelia quickly slipped between them, and War as gently as he could yanked her out of the way of two angered males. He would never, ever have Pomelia stand in front of him. Ever. She was always to be protected.

"You can calm down or get the hell out," War growled out, stepping up to Trent. His canines growing out and his claws elongating. He was already not in the mood and he was not dealing with Trent's emotional bullshit today.

Trent threw his hands in the air. "You really fucking  hate me. Why the fuck is she here with him and these other fucking nun wanna be's?!" Nun wanna be's? She and him?

He had finally done it. Trent had finally gone insane. "Man who the hell are you taking about? You come in here on 1,000 and expect everyone to understand you?"

Trent turned his body towards Leo, anger radiating off of him in waves. "I want to know why the fuck a group of holy people are at our border in a van with the lpa seal on it."

War's eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at Pomelia. She seemed shocked. "They have suitcases?"

"Yes and Arana is here right along with that asshole with white hair. What the fuck is going on," he fumed. Trent looked as if a bottle of alcohol was dangling in front of his face or well no behind him and he was resisting the urge to drink.

Pomelia squealed. "This is great! This is amazing! We have to greet them!" His mate was ecstatic and almost jumping up and down. War was happy to he guessed...but where was the letter? Where was the notice?

"So none of you assholes are going to fill me the fuck in?!"

War grabbed Trent by the shirt, their noses touching as he let loose a growl that vibrated through his entire body. "You need to chill the fuck out."

Trent shoved War off of him, a sneer on his face. "I know about your little meeting, War. Didn't think I wanted to be apart of it? You know I have pull in this fucking pack. So you don't tell me about that then these mother fuckers show up and you expect me to be fine and fucking dandy about it."

He could feel Pomelia's eyes on him and wanted to be a better example of what an Alpha should be. Trent was obviously 'hurt.' "I didn't think you cared."

Trent seemed ready to burst. His wolf seemed to be contemplating coming out and War braced himself for a fight. Fortunately, Trent seemed to have some type of cap on himself. Surprisingly. "I live in this shit hole and we've been through a a fuck ton of crap and you choose to invite Lo and Leo to this shit and not me and then she shows up in the same day. You're really fucking sick."

How was this being turned around to be Wars fault?! Trent always, always had the appearance that he could care less about anyone or anything so why the fuck was he so upset? Why did War feel guilty? "Trent we're really sorry-"

"-I can handle this," War told Pomelia as she moved her mouth to speak again before she shut it close.

"Lo and I are heading out. Please dont kill each other I actually like all you in this room." With saying that, Leo grabbed his pregnant mate and they left the conference room.

War glanced at Trent. He still seemed ready to fight. "Khan left the pack in a shit ton of debt and I'm going to start charging pack fees to everyone. The LPA said...the holy people are under attack and some people are housing them as a tax right off basically," he explained as Trent's scowl deepened. "They said they would send a letter if any holy persons would come but we never got the letter. They just showed up?"

Trent's scowl momentarily dissipated. "You do realize the person who handles our fucking mail was instructed by Khan to throw out anything from the lpa or temples? Thats why you probably never got the letter you idiot."

Well War really felt like finding Khan and killing him now. "Unbelievable," he murmured as he wiped a hand over his face in annoyance. "Trent go there and tell them that we'll be there to greet them
soon."

The look in his eyes was akin to someone telling another person to go chop off their hand and roast it over a open fire. "Fuck that. I was on my way to go pick up Trisha. You find someone else to be your errand boy."

"Trent-"

"-I'm good. I don't accept your apology either. I'll be back later."

War took a deep inhale and exhale, trying to reign in his anger at this very moment. Why was all of this happening? He didn't know. He was just annoyed as hell right now.

"I'm going to go change my clothes...then we can go?"

He glanced to his mate to see her pulling at the hem of her dress. "It looks fine. Why are you changing?"

Pomelia shrugged, looking away. "It's more appropriate to greet them in."

Appropriate? She was wearing the second most conservative dress she had in the closet. "Pomelia you're a mated female...not a novice. You can wear whatever you want."

His mate seem offended. "I know that and I want to wear something else."

He squared his jaw, holding his tongue on anything else he wanted to say. After a few minutes ticked by of utter silence, she tried to walk past him. At the last minute before she was just out of reach, he grabbed her.

She didn't fight him but she did seem a little stunned. "What is it?"

His tongue felt too big for his mouth as he talked. He was getting nervous. "I-I'm sorry. For interrupting you. That's disrespectful and I don't ever want to be that male."

She looked away. "It's okay. I shouldn't have answered questions directed at you. I just know sometimes you get frustrated and you don't know what to say so I just try to hop in before..." she trailed off as his chest began to ache.

Gods, she was so sweet. A mate really did have your back...it wasn't just the dumb puppy love he thought mated pairs had before Pom came along. What was between them was special. "I get it...thanks for looking out for me like that. No one ever has ever did that for me."

Pomelia smiled warmly. "Well I don't want to do it either unless you really need it. How about we have a code word or like a movement to know when I should hop in? I heard that mates used to be able to read each other's minds. That would be helpful," she giggled.

War chuckled. Yeah, it wouldn't. She would get a glimpse of the violence he experienced in his younger years. The constant struggle of trying to do what was right. And of course the consistent thoughts of Pomelia. Not even sex necessarily, just wanting to be around her. It would be interesting to see what was inside of her head though...

"Maybe I can scratch my left eyebrow or something? That's what those spies did in that movie you and Nick watched." Pom's face lit up. The spy who loathed me was the most toxic human film he had ever watched.

By the end of it, Pomelia and Nick were sniffling and War was ready to go fight the main actor and actress and all of the supporting cast. "Perfect!"

Then she gave him a look as if she wasn't satisfied. "Warren...I think you come off a little defensive sometimes. You told Trent and everyone in the meeting if you don't like it, leave."

War didn't see the problem. Khan said it all the time... Khan said it. That was the problem in itself. That was how he felt though? Well no that wasn't true. He liked everyone in the room he has the meeting with. Losing valuable pack members like that because of words he said out of anger... Yeah ok, he could see how that came off as kind of condescending...

"I didn't mean it like that...I'm not apologizing though." Especially not to Trent he thought as Pomelia rolled her eyes. "I'll work on being nicer though..." War thought he was pretty nice already.

Pomelia went to her tippy toes and planted on right on his lips. "You've been doing great, Warren, " she kissed him again and batted her eyelashes playfully. "Now let's go see Priestess Arana!"

The Alpha pair made their way towards the Northern border hand in hand and with a few pack members joining in on the walk. No one knew what was really going on and War decided not to tell them, but instead have a pack meeting either later today or tomorrow morning about the newcomers...

They approached the border to see two cars. One was a white van with a seal and the other was a black truck with an armed agent standing in front of it. War immediately recognized Agent Grace but he decided to keep check out the people dressed in white and cream.

Priestess Arana's slim and tall form was in a cream dress. She wasn't wearing her veil, instead her hair was in some sort of curly bun. She held her head high as she scanned the crowd, the serious demeanor in her facial features hardening before she smiled, her eyes landing on Pomelia and War.

The two women with her were glued to her sides. Like baby chicks trying to be under their mother hen. Then came the man. A man War had never seen before.

Silver hair. Yes, silver like the moon and dark skin. Even his eyes resembled the moon and he looked like one mean mother fucker. Standing a few feet in front of Arana and the two novices. The man's eyes screamed, 'don't even think of approaching or looking this way.'

"Luna Pomelia, Alpha Warren."

It was Erica Grace in her pants suit and analyzing eyes. "Agent Grace," Pomelia smiled as her mother had an ounce of humanity and her eyes softened just the slightest. "It's a surprise to see you. We didn't know that we were able to house holy people."

"Yes well I sent letters but I suppose you all don't get mail. I printed out some requirements for them. I'm sure you know Priestess Arana. There is Father Arrow and two novices, Rosamie and Leiko."

War glanced at Pomelia who waved at the two novices. One looked away and the other smiled at his mate. The man Arrow's lips moved ever so slightly in what War could guess was a half of a smirk smile thing. Arana smiled brightly.

"Thank you," War told his mates mother as he took the papers and glanced them over. He really wasn't reading, he was listening in on what the pack members around him were saying.

Mostly what the heck was going on. "If any harm at all comes to these four holy peoples it's your head. I'm being 100% transparent with you. I would find pack members to guard them. Not so much Arrow but the other three."

Who was going to willingly protect them? That was something Pomelia and he had to have along, long conversation about. He knew one thing for sure, Trent was to go nowhere near Arana. It was for his mental health and her sanity...

"How long will they be housed with us?"

"Until the threat is mostly eradicated and we can assure them that our most sacred places stay that way. It's not a definite answer because I have no idea."

War could feel Pomelia shiver lightly as she moved in closer to him. No doubt upset over that answer. "Thank you again for helping us. They'll be safe here," Pomelia told her mother with every ounce of truth she had. He felt the doubt in her voice but he would make sure that statement stayed true.

Agent Grace's eyebrows went up a little unsure manner. "I hope for everyone sake you do keep them safe. Arrow and Arana are very important people in the holy community as you two already know."

Both of them were aware. Well War really wasn't aware but the way Pomelia looked ready to burst and run into Arana's arms was how he could tell the woman was important not only yo his mate but to a lot of people. Which meant again, War had to keep Trent away from her.

"If we have any concerns or anything we'll call you...it's time to get our guests settled in," War spoke as he tried to figure out where the hell he was going to put them.

Agent Grace folded her arms over her chest. "Good. They had a long day and probably need some rest. I will be in touch."

They said their goodbyes before Agent Grace turned away and walked over to the newcomers speaking to them. "Where should we keep them? Maybe the alpha house?"

That was the only current place with extra rooms he knew of right off the bat. Was War freaking out? Yeah he was. "War...hey we got this. This helps us shave off some of the debt. We'll let them rest for the day in the alpha house and then we can brainstorm other possibilities? How does that sound?"

War tried to resist the urge to kiss his mate, but he broke and planted one right on her lips. "That's a great idea."

She smiled up at him cheekily. "Can we go say hi now?"

"Of course."

The two walked up to the four newcomers who were all on the defensive. Except for Priestess Arana. War held his hand out to the man first, considering he was closest to them.

"I'm Alpha War and this is Luna Pomelia," War spoke trying to come off as welcoming as possible. The two novices seemed ready to faint.

The man briefly nodded at him and stiffly shook Wars' hand.

"Welcome to Bane pack."
