Here's the art tutorial you've all been waiting for! I hope it helps you out, because I've never done one of these before. Enjoy!

Step 1
I draw a circular square-ish object. This is going to become Talyn's head. I've already sketched in the other characters in this scene.

Step 2
Block in the line of motion for the neck, then draw a circle for the body and loosely sketch a shape that will become the wing.

Step 3
Sketch a circular object inside the head, draw a loose outline for the other wing, and add a line for the tail.

Step 4
Add lines for the horns and the "thumb" on the wings.

Step 5
Flesh out her horns a bit and add skeletal framework to the wings where the bones will go

Step 6
Add the wing bones

Step 7
Flesh out the body. Keep in mind that most wyverns have a powerful upper body. Also, add the skin connecting the bones in the wing.

Flesh out the tail

Add lines for Talyn's frill. It's the defining trait that shows that she is part basilisk. You can design your wyverns however you like.

Add face details

Ink the drawing, keeping in mind you only want to ink the parts of the drawing you want to keep. I almost always ink the eyes first.

Sometimes I add last minute details when I ink.

Step 13
Erase all traces of pencil!

Step 14
Start coloring! I add the patterns first, usually with a gel pen. I color horns and claws with a metallic silver, gold, bronze, or other natural colors.

Now I am going to do the wings in watercolor pencil. Believe it or not, crayola watercolor pencils are amazing quality and pretty inexpensive. Plus you don't have to worry about being a little sloppy because they blend nicely and look like paint.

Now, just add water! Take a small brush and paint water onto your drawing! Sometimes I bring in darker color for shading.
