Manx over the years
Every story needs a lead character, or at least a character you follow. And with my story, that lead is Manx, the endearingly antisocial withyr sprite with shadow powers. I'll show you some early designs and then we'll see how she has grown and changed both in the pictures and in the story.
First ever drawing of Manx-
This picture below is the first drawing I ever did of Tamira Jade, also known as Manx. The day I conceived the character, she was a lot more puckish and a trickster, but within writing the first chapter of the first book I had her in, she became the traumatized antisocial and snappy girl you know today. Her story started when she was released from the dungeon, and she had little knowledge of the outside world she lived in. This is why you'll see a drastic difference from here to the next few pictures.
And here is another picture of Manx I did. Back when I drew this was before I adapted to my very manga-ish style I use today and I was still learning how she looked.
Here's one of Manx in more earth-like clothes from when I was just developing my current style.
This one below is a water color I did from not long after she was stung by the juggernaut scorpion and is beginning to feel its effects.
Here's a couple from the time she ran away to the harrow forest...
Here's one that I wrote on a bunch in a draconic code I came up with in sixth grade.
Someone's having a bad day...
And now we're getting to the early phase of me drawing mainly manga style
A pen and ink of Manx that didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped
A very early chibi Manx
Concept art for when Manx's hair grows out more
Vaskin and Manx in human form
A drawing of a very unamused Manx I actually put on a couple Christmas cards
Vaskin and Manx
Finally we are getting to the good ones. Anywho, this is Manx showing off this cape I made to live action role play as her with my friends. And yes I role play my stories. And you can see I've finally discovered water color pencils.
A weapon I designed for Manx that would probably do more harm than good to her with her level of experience in battle...
Mini Manx and Vaskin the kid. I was trying out the kodomo manga style. No, they didn't know each other at that age.
And here we come to when she got the elemental wound. No spoilers as to why or how. ;)
