At nine, in the thick of winter, some of England's best doctors surrounded her four-post bed. They stared at the sickened girl, her cheeks rosy and skin slick with sweat. She cried in her mother's arms, clinging to her young life.

For weeks, her parents barely left her side. Their elder daughter, fourteen years of age and their twin boys, just six, were sent away until wildflowers began growing on the family estate and with the first bloom of spring, Daisy's sickness finally subsided.

Sheltered each following winter, Daisy's excitement for the warmer months only grew and at sixteen, her yearning for love blossomed further when her sister wed. It was, as Daisy had noted, the most charming day.

However, at eighteen, struck with a similar sickness, Daisy laid in her bed, staring at the vast gardens outside her window. It was early spring, and while her sister counted the days until her first child entered the world, Daisy counted each day as if it was her last...

On the thirty fourth day, after receiving news that sent her elder sister into an early birth, Daisy Allan Dare, who was yet to meet the second eldest Bridgerton, silently swore to never take a husband.

i need part two of s3 right now (mainly because i have a massive and sudden crush on cressida). it's not my favourite season and i fear my expectations are far too high after queen charlotte but i still love it.

AND a quick warning before reading, if you are expecting this story to have a happy ending please do not. daisy is the beth march of her family...
