File 20
(Y/N) walked into the large resort, a chaperone by her side, gracefully provided by Kyoya knowing she might get lost, and she almost did.
"Thank you sir." She said, and the chaperone bowed before leaving.
Looking around, (Y/N)'s eyes widened at the sight of the resort, and went looking for the group she called friends, her white short sleeve making her seem to glow, and pearlescent skin sparkling as she wandered. The black shorts were a stark contrast to her attire, and white shoes glaring on the floor, usual denim bag slung at her side. Spotting Kyoya in the distance, the girl smiled, and was about to call out for him, only to be kidnapped by the doppelgangers.
"Target-"
"Captured."
"Wha-?"
Dragging her to the changing room, the two threw her in and refused to let the door open when she struggled to get out.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"Just a favor for Kyoya!" They claimed, chuckling.
"Honestly, you two are getting on my last nerve!"
She received no answer except for their incessant giggling and snickering. Finally turning around, she found an array of two-piece swimsuits and sighed, seeing what the two had planned. Taking out her own swimsuit, she slipped it on, and knocked on the door.
"You can let me out now, I chose one."
"Well that was fast." (Y/N) guessed it was Karou.
When the door opened, the young woman burst from the changing room, bag in hand, knocking both the twins on their butts.
"HEY!" They hollered in sync, but (Y/N) only laughed, looking behind her as her bare feet hit the tiles of the closed resort.
She would have kept on running, but a sudden wall in her path stopped the girl dead. Falling backwards, (Y/N) screeched and shut her eyes, hoping that would lessen the pain of the hard tile. When no impact came, she opened her eyes, finding herself suspended just a nose length from where she imagined her head to be cracked in two, like an egg. Feeling a strong arm pull her up, (Y/N) found her balance, and turned to look at her saviour.
"Oh... thank you Mori." She smiled, and the tall high school student nodded, then went off after Honey had called him.
"I'm glad you could make it." Kyoya greeted from behind, looking rather winded...
"Me too," the girl smiled, her pearlescent skin shining in the created light, "It's quite extravagant, I didn't expect it to be so big..." she turned to look at the wide expanse of tropical extravagance, "Then again, I probably shouldn't underestimate the Ootori family."
"That would be the wisest of decisions," Kyoya said, a ghost of a smile appearing on his face.
"From what I've been told, you took them here before?" (Y/N) asked, to which Kyoya nodded.
"Yes, that wise a trial run, I guess you could say I needed guinea pigs, and the Host Club was the most gullible."
"Devious," came the surprising answer.
Kyoya looked down to the young woman in front of him, only now noticing her attire. It was a simple one piece, (F/C) swimming suit, but it hugged her form perfectly. It was obvious that she was being modest when she went through her bag and pulled out a white, breathable shawl, wrapping it around so that her shoulders, and what little of her chest that showed, was covered, but the fabric was still fairly see-through. The most surprising part of the suit was how low the back was.
"Did the twins force you to wear that?" Kyoya asked, curious, and frankly quite mad that they would do such a thing to such a modest girl.
"Well... they tried to force me to where one of the two-pieces... but I had brought this one... Why? Does it look bad?"
"Uh... no..."
"You hesitated." Came the chorus of the twins.
"He's not going to hesitate when it comes to beating the both of you to a pulp." (Y/N) deadpanned, making the twins scuttle away from both their glares.
"You've certainly learned how to keep those two in check," Kyoya commented.
"After the fairy tale themed event, I think they'll be a bit more wary of me..." her eyes clouded with a familiar loathing, and Kyoya felt a pang of... he couldn't quite tell.
"Did you regret joining the event?" he asked after a moment.
The loathing went away like a breeze dragging mist from a field, and she looked back up at him.
"I did at first," was her honest answer, "But, I didn't mind it after awhile."
Her smile made the already brightly lit room shine, and Kyoya found himself sighing at the sight.
"Is something wrong?"
(Y/N) had taken the sigh the wrong way.
"No," Kyoya, admitted, but he did not elaborate either.
"(Y/N)!" Tamaki hollered from one of the pools, "Come join us in the water!"
"I'd prefer not to get too soaked," was her hollered back answer, "I have a doctors appointment later!"
It was Kyoya's turn to ask if something was wrong.
"Nothing of major importance, just a headache that won't go away." She put a hand to the back of her neck, twisting it, "I think It's the stress."
"But you're so collected," Haruhi was there as well, most likely being dragged into it.
"That doesn't mean all that much," (Y/N) chuckled, "I just have a lot on my plate, and it keeps me up from time to time."
"You know you can ask for help," the brunette stated, adjusting the light orange sweatshirt, that draped over her shorts.
"It's fine, really," (Y/N) insisted, a crowd starting to form around her, "I just need to catch up with my studies for now, and I'll be good."
"If you insist," Haruhi sighed.
Smiling once more, the exchange student decided to walk to the lazy river, where a blow up swan was waiting, tethered to a ring stuck in the floor. Untying it, she hopped on floating away as she waved. Honey ran after her, giggling.
"Are you going to save your damsel in distress?" Tamaki poked Kyoya in his side, having way to much fun.
"When will you realize that there will be and is nothing between us?" Kyoya grumbled, and sat in one of the white deck chairs. A drink on the table, obviously his as he took a sip.
"You have to admit," Haruhi started, still watching (Y/N) disappear in the distance, "She seems more comfortable around you."
"We share some interests, that is all."
Huffing, the Host Club King started to ramble, being ignored by everyone as Haruhi continued with her point.
"Yet she brings you sweets, sweets that you eat first of all, and second: sweets she doesn't offer to anyone else."
"I can guarantee your distaste for them will be quite strong. They're unnaturally spicy for a usually sweet confection." He picked up a book from the floor, realizing it must have fallen out of (Y/N)'s bag when she fell. He wondered why he felt a sense of panic when he saw her run into Mori. He had started to run, but stopped when Mori had caught the falling girl. Thank goodness for the fast reflexes of a martial artist. Looking at the cover, he read the title:
Peter Pan
He noted the bookmark was a red feather, and chuckled to himself.
"With all the girls that fawn over you," Karou started.
"We'd expect it to be obvious." Hikarou finished.
"Expect what to be obvious?" Kyoya questioned, opening the book to the page (Y/N) had stopped at, and reached for another sip of his drink.
"The way she flirts with you."
The twin's chorus made Kyoya spit out his drink. He inspected the book to make sure it wasn't damaged, then glared at the group before him, almost everyone having a devious smile on their face, even Honey, since he had joined the group after not being able to catch up with (Y/N).
"She doesn't flirt with me." he denied.
"Spends most of her time with you... check." Tamaki started.
"Shares special sweets with you... check." Honey continued.
"None of you would like them," Kyoya defended.
"Calls you a nickname that you two only find amusing... check." The twins stated.
"It's a reference to a mistake I made, not a nickname." Kyoya defended once more.
"She blushes when you compliment her, while with everyone else it's a smile and a 'thank you'," Haruhi said.
"And we can't forget her actions when she was forced to play Wendy." Mori added, earning a vigorous nod from Honey.
"Her actions were justified considering who forced her." Kyoya glared at Tamaki, who didn't seem to notice as he began to speak once more.
"Not that part of it, the fact that she went along with the character of Wendy. In the story she has a crush on Peter but he won't act upon it because he has no experience and doesn't know what she means. Kyoya she's the Wendy to your Peter Pan!"
The black haired boy looked to the book in his hands, noting the scene where Wendy was almost drowned by the mermaids. He found it fitting. The host club being the mermaids, and (Y/N) Wendy. He still didn't think he'd fit as Peter.
"Earth to Kyoya," Honey waved a hand in his face.
The upper classman hadn't realized that he had begun reading, and had already flipped to the next page, (Y/N)'s bookmark forgotten in his other hand.
"As I have said before, it's a passing interest."
"What is?"
The group turned to find (Y/N) coming up with a deflated swan floaty, soaked to the bone, her (H/L) hair flattened to frame her face, almost perfectly in Kyoya's eyes. He was the first to act.
"I think the better question is what happened to you?" He questioned, grabbing a towel to put over her shoulders.
"Oh, one of the exotic birds became a little too friendly down the lazy river and it popped the floaty... I'm awfully sorry, I'll make sure to buy a new one."
"It's fine," Kyoya took the trashed pool toy, "For now you should dry off, you still have that appointment you don't want to miss."
The girl thanked him, and started to go to dry off, but she stopped.
"Well... I have an hour or so until I have to leave... I'm sure a little swimming won't hurt as long as I don't tweak my neck..."
"You should have Kyoya look at it!" Honey said with a smile, "His family DOES deal with medical stuff!"
Said Ootori was silent, doing his best not to glare at the pint sized 18 year old.
"Uh... no, I don't think that's necessary..." (Y/N) claimed with a short shake of her head.
"No, I would think not." Kyoya confirmed harshly, his head turned toward the group of six, earning an almost hurt expression from the girl. He took no notice as she hugged the towel around her, and looked to the floor.
"You know... I should go, I don't want to be late." She said, turning to go, "Thank you for the invitation, I had fun... see you all at school."
(Y/N) left with little said, and Kyoya found that she had forgotten her book. He picked it up from the table, and tucked it under his arm.
"Where are you going?" Tamaki asked, his slight annoyed attitude apparent.
"She never finished her book... I'm sure she would appreciate it if she was able to do so."
The group watched as Kyoya started to jog after the girl, simply to return a book.
(Oof... when's he gonna realize it? Kyoya's so dense... oh wait, I'm making him that way ;P Thanks for reading! Happy Hosting!)
